Inspiration while writing

Oh, duh! I almost forgot. "It's the Fear" by Within Temptation is also a definite for Echo. Probably moreso than "Drumming Song". I just hear the lyrics and the tune and everything of this song and I think, "Yes. That's exactly what I want Echo to be."

Lol yea maybe just a little too much sometimes XD



Ooohh haven't heard ANY of those songs before. I like! Especially Drumming Song and Moondance. I don't hear new music (new to me) very often.

Interesting. And now I know you like Naruto, Shadowed x)

Here's my rundown, I guess. They aren't songs I really listen to when writing my characters, but they are songs that can apply to them.

Evon: "A Dangerous Mind" by Within Temptation. I bet you were expecting an Evanescence song, eh?
Julien: He has a couple of songs, all by the same artist, Placebo. But here's the song he's named after, "Julien".
Echo: The words on Echo's table are taken from this song, "Drumming Song" by Florence + the Machine. I was driving in my car one night and it simply occurred to me that this was Echo's theme.
Jack: Or, Hamara's current theme, whatever you like to think. "Wretches and Kings" by Linkin Park. Very jarring and angry, perfect for dogs from the gritty city. And, well, Linkin Park is my favorite band.

Otherwise, there are some songs I hear that remind me of FNI as a whole. I've always wanted to throw together a music video of some sort, but alas, I lack the technology. These songs include "Moondance" by Nightwish and "Lacrymosa" by Evanescence, specifically for Lacrimosa Lake (as if that wasn't obvious). Some background music I like to listen to every now and then is either from LOTR or Skyrim.

Oh! And for a new character I have. This is, without a doubt, his theme. "Skyfall" by Adele.

Hey guys, do any of you play certain songs while you are writing to get a feel for what you're trying to express? Are there any particular songs out there that seem to suit your chracters perfectly, or that you would use as a 'theme song' for them?

Avenged Star. I though this theme just gives a sense of coming danger, which suits Vengeance just fine, I think.

Bright Moon. Bright is a long-time character of mine, so I chose two songs for her, both of which reflect her sorrow.

Silent Snowfall. This theme sounds like strength through hardship, which reminds me of Lady Snowfall.

Hellscream. This one is perfect for him because it is simply so void of any feeling. It is just plain creepy, and that is all.
