Her nose was shoved to the ground taking in all the scents she could manage.
These lands that were so new to her caught her interest right away. She was
in a new wolf heaven. Head shot up as birds took off in the chilly air. It was
winter and even though the sight was a bit rare to her since she had arrived it
gave her an awkward moment to take pleasure in seeing something so familiar.
"Oh you poor things I bet you're freezing"
Her voice was spoken aloud to no one. Till the black specks of the birds were
gone she hadn't moved her sight from them. Even after they had vanished
from sight she still didn't look around. A slight sting reminded her to blink and
when she did the burn from staring off into space made her react and shake
her head a little bit.
"Don't stare off, I know mother, I know"
There was no mother around, but it felt good to pretend a little. She missed
her mother. The deep voice of her father too. The scent that reminded her of
home was wafted in the air like an imaginary friend and she let her mind
wander into the cloudy smoke of memories while she continued to walk
on her own way through these lands. Finally, white paws found ice over water
and she looked at the whispy white smoke like ice that covered the
puddle she would normally drink from. Normally. Right now she was looking
at every air bubble, light and dark thickness to the ice. It was beautiful.
Deadly if it were deeper than just a puddle, but beautiful right now.
"The things you find on an adventure"
Fae spoke aloud to herself and smiled at the thoughts that raced through
her head. Adventure. Alone. She didn't have her mother or father around
now but they were with her in spirit which was what counted to her.
"But I miss you"
Her voice was barely a whisper now. Now coming to and knowing she
was staring off again she shook her head and moved past the puddle to
a flat smooth surface.
"This will do"
She circled a few times and laid down. Her white pelt bristled in the little
wind that worked over her. Her nose was hidden in her tail as she curled
into a ball. Not to bad for being out in the open. She bleded rather well
with the snow and took advantage of just that. 'Well, at least you aren't
being bothered by any male' she thought to herself, then opened her
eyes to check the area right infront of her. She just jinxed herself and
she knew it. Grumbling in her own mind she closed her lids over light
eyes and took a deep breath. She wasn't going to sleep, she was going
to listen. The snow flew in flurries here and there. The thumping of running
hare through the snow. The beating of wings from passing birds. They kept
up their noise which calmed her. If there was anymore danger they
would fall silent, hopefully if anyone else approached.
