Kovu sat with his body upright, analyzing the situation. As Halvor lay asleep yards away, and Jarl seemed to be in deep thought in the opposite direction, Kovu was torn on what to do. He knew there were others. Many, many more; some possibly apart of a pack. He wanted to envision a somewhat bright future for himself, maybe find a wolf out there like him. Heck, maybe he could find himself a mate before he perished on this godforsaken no man’s land. And that seemed a far reach away if he remained with this group. However, these wolves also appeared to have a plan of their own, probably similar to his. Halvor was a much more powerful wolf than he, which could provide usefulness on whatever journey they pursued, considering Kovu’s lack of brute strength. Plus, a free meal was a factor in favor of staying with these wolves. In all, the worst seemed to be over…for now. In a group, survival was much easier. Alone, a little more difficult. But finding a rogue pack out there could change his entire life around. The decision didn’t need to be made this very second, but he had to cut to the chase soon. For now, the others were demobilized and tired, and he figured so should he. He lay on his stomach, chest up. He remained alert, just better comforted, thinking.

When Jarl came back it was evening , Jarl looked at Halvor who was stil asleep.
Jarl looked also at Kovu who was just sitting and doing nothing, in Jarls eyes.
He went to Kovu and said : " I think its time to move on. "
Jarl knew the best time to travel long distances on this terrain, he had experience whit this .
After he sad this, he turned around to go to Halvor, to him he said " Halvor its night, time to go. "
He just walked in the same direction they had been going before ,
hoping the others would follow like always. Suddenly he thought about something .
He turned back and said very loud: " There is water over there! " He just said it for two reasons :
first. He knew the way in this land a bit and if they followed him they would find a pack .
secont. He did not want to go until Kovu and Halvor did drink something because he did not want any of them dead .
So he walked to the pool knowing the rest would follow him .

Halvor opened his eyes, when he heard Jarl announce they would travel further, and that there was water nearby. Water! Suddnely Halvor felt the thirst, he had so far ignored, come back. He stood up, and started walking into the direction Jarl pointed out.

While he had stood up he glanced at Kovu quickly, too see his reaction. Then he resumed his "journey"
to the water pool.

As he came there, he first scanned the area for dangers, such as snakes and scorpions. A shiver went down his spine, when he had thought at his confrontation with a snake that noon. When he was sure the area was safe, he lessened his thirst.

Kovu snapped out his trance, unaware of what was going on, only noticing the voice that awoke him. He slowly stood up. He drearily took his time, minding his own…only to discover within a few moments that he was standing in the dark completely alone. He now noticed as Halvor and Jarl began to travel many yards ahead of him. They had to be searching for something of pretty great importance to just get up and leave the spot they were when there was no sort of danger. Well, he couldn’t just sit there solitary like a fool. He briskly began to catch up to them. Treading the beaten earth, the answer finally came alight: water. He previously had no desire of thirst, only hunger; yet now, staring at the deep pool from where he stood, his mouth became dehydrated, craving thirst. He now stood near the two wolves, knowing now had to be the time to talk about what they had in store for the future…

Halvor sat down when he finished drinking, and noticed that Kovu stood next to him. he sighed. Sooner or later they would have to talk about the where, how and why. Better get over with it quick.
He turned his head towards Kovu, and started: "So, Kovu, Jarl, where should we go now? " He paused
"We could go search for a pack or clan or so, but the question is, where should we start looking?"

He stopped, waited for the other wolves to overthink his questions. Where could we possibly go?
He thought to himself. He stretched his legs, hoping the pain from his failed landing was (partially) over...
Good, his bones and muscles didn't hurt anymore. Her was back in shape, and whatever the future holded for him, he was ready to meet it. He hoped the others where too...

Jarl was thinking were, easy to say hard to know Jarl had apsultly no idea were to go he just tought to go to the west .
So he said : " Lets go to the west. "The west why the west , in Jarls eyes the west was the best place to be rain much animals and a good klimate , the perfect things for a pack to live, but maybe he was wrong . It was too late to go back he said it to loud .
so he would lissen wat the other were thinking of hopfull they would not get angry whit some troumas or something like it.
So Jarl directly started too explain :"It rains much over there, whit much animals and water so why not ? "

The time was now. “Well, I’m in…But, it doesn’t really matter which direction we take. It’s just blind luck. Whether we travel to the mountains, or the valleys, or the coast, there will be life. The question is, is that the one we want?…Does what we want lie in the west?…” Kovu trailed off. Hopefully, whoever they did find would accept them. They weren’t necessarily the biggest pumpkins in the patch, but maybe they could adapt to the pack. At least sticking with them held options and better opportunity. Would they find exactly what they were looking for? Doubtful. But there would be something. Worst case scenario, he could restart his own journey to find a new life.

Jarl thought about it , mountains they did live there before the banishing . Wat would happen if they encountered their former pack.
That would be a disaster, but after all, he would like to know how the pack would do it .
His mother , his friends and of course the pack leader... When Jarl would see him he would directly attack him, even when all wolfs would protect the leader...
One half wanted to go , to see all his family and friends. But in Halvors eyes this would be a stupid plan: "we are banished, dont forget that " He had said earlier
But he wanted to see them all,as it had been 3 years ago.
The other part knew he would get in problems if he goes...
So he has a dilemma .
Wat would he do? Jarl did like he did not had heard Kovu and drinked further, pondering over the questions spooking in his head.

Halvor glanced at Jarl, who seemed taken up in his own thought, and Kovu, who said that it didn't mattered where they went, as long it was as far as possible from their old pack, and more specificaly, their old pack leader. He didn't want to encounter him, even if they where with three and him only one, a fight would still be in the leader's favour.

He had observed the leader during fight for leadership, while he was still a pup, he had preffered picking out his opponents one by one, quickly striking and the vanishing
into teh woods, before lahing out again. most of his opponents died from bleeding out from a dozen smaller wounds, not from an brutal all-out attack. This way, their pack was even able to hunt far stronger and bigger animals, like bears. And the most scary off all, he never had seen the leader been hit by anyone.

No he certainly didn't want to encounter him. "Let's go west then, as far as I know, we didn't came from there, so it could only be positive." After that he turned, head facing west, and lied down. He wanted to
make sure he was in complete top condition. Then he closed his eyes.

Kovu understood that it was settled: west it was. Whatever lie ahead he hoped for the best. But the look in Halvor’s eyes; a look of hate, and deeper, fear. The way Halvor looked at Jarl, he had a sense that there was definitely something in their past they wanted to avoid…something probably disturbing. Kovu would never try to bring that up with them: they were in the Lone Lands for a reason. But, regardless, they all had one thing in common: struggle. And they all made it through and wanted to take a second attempt. Kovu’s excitement overshadowed any of his worry. From this moment on, the journey had begun. Now though was probably a better time to rest. He finally eased a little on the throttle, setting his head on his paws, staring west, nearing sleep.

Jarl thought about his personal problems, questions continueing to spook through his head, he thought at it every time hewhen he saw his reflection in the water.
"Hmmm... Maybe Kovu would know wat I should do" he thought. Halvor would just pionted on the fact they weren't welcome there, Kovu would have an other view on it.

But it was a bit too soon, he couldn't tell his life-story to somebody he met a hour before, under ...weird... circumstances. Maybe he knew what Jarl could do.So Jarl decided he would wait, and took place between the other two wolves. He glanced to both, Halvor been seemingly already at sleep, and Kovu looked like he was planning to do the same. Jarl closed his eyes and let the sweet sleep engulf him.

The next thing he knew, Kovu awoke on the warm earth in the spot he had been laying in the night before. It was early morning, as the sun seemed to have only renewed itself moments ago. With sandy dust caught in the cavity of his throat, Kovu had a short coughing fit as he stretched to stand. His strength had officially been 100% recovered. He realized the others were still asleep, resting from the strange night before. He had only known them for less than 24 hours, but they were slowly beginning to feel like allies; like family. The pond glistened in the sun’s dawn glow as he sipped from it. While he waited for Halvor and Jarl, he figured he should just walk around the proximity a little to wake himself up better. A big day lie ahead of him, and he wasn’t going to let it intimidate him.

Halvor woke up a few minutes after Kovu, temporaly blinded by the upcoming sun. He stood up,and shook off the dust of his pelt.
He loked for the others. Jarl lied a few mettres away, and Kovu seemed to wander around a bit. It was still early and the sun hadn't heated the lands much, so it was still not to hot to travel. If they left now, they could travel untli midday and then seek shelter, only to travel further at night.

He turned to his brother who lied on the ground , and started jabbing his brother with his paws. "Jarl, wake up."
Then he inhaled the fresh air, and smelt the unmistakably scent of a wild pig.He the turned and started to walk towards where he thought the pig was.

Jarl awaked becuas he heard something, a voice first he thought he was dreaming. Suddenly he awakes, he sees only blurred shapes. This happens a lot a after his accident.
He tries to stand, but immediately falls back on the ground. Jarl hoped Halvor and Kovu would not have seen anything. He immediately got up and followd the shapes walking likea complete moron . " Hey wait a minut " he said and he fell " he stand up "what is the slippery here" he said as an excuse, hopping that no one would notice that he is lying

Kovu heard the noises of the others and stopped walking. He felt a bit flustered when the small sounds began to tickle his eardrums, and cold chill ran down his back. His brain knew it was just them, but his instinctive subconscious wouldn’t back down. He felt alert, too alert. Then, his thoughts went haywire. He just got the strangest urge to dive into the body of water they had been drinking from. What the hell was happening to him? His head became hot, his mouth became dry, and he hungered for a hunt. Just as quickly as this wave of sensation to kill came, it disappeared the moment Jarl mumbled behind him. Kovu slowly turned, and all was normal. Halvor was sniffing for a scent, searching for an animal, and Jarl lay on the ground, for no particular reason it seemed. Kovu was relieved that the feeling was gone, and yet petrified as well. His roots were catching up to him now that he was not always in predatory mode. He was in control, but wanted to start moving before something like this happened again. He wanted to leave now.

The scent of a pack. (and pheasants :D ) - Page 2 H

Halvor turned himself towards the west, and started walking. It was still cool, but it wouldn't stay like that for lnog now the sun was up. He hoped they could find another oasis or a den to shelter when it got too hot. He was also getting hungry, but hunting had to wait until it was night at least, so they wouldn't overheat from the effort. His stomach protested however, and Halvor hoped that they could find some carrion or small lizards to eat on the way.

He looked back. The others would surely follow. Kovu looked a bit frustrated, and Halvor wondered why. Jarl had stood up, fall down, and stood up again. He blamed it on the slippy ground. That could Halvor not really understand, as the ground was as dry as could be. Jarl probably had been a bit disorientated when he got up so quickly. He turned his head forward, and started daydreaming about a nice, juicy pheasant.

Jarl was just following the rest, with a growling belly. He could notice the tang of a wild pig. But it was far too hot to hunt, but he didn't care.
The pig was approaching from their left. they had wind-in from that side, so the pig couldn't smell them. Jarl first though about a tactic, directly
he rolled over the ground, his gray pelt turned dirty-brown . Now he was perfectly camouflaged.

He diged himself in the ground by some scrubs waiting for the pig to come.

The scent of a pack. (and pheasants :D ) - Page 2 Kovu10

Shaking his head, Kovu eventually realized the others had already begun and ran to catch up. The harsh landscape was not difficult to cover at all; it was actually more so depressing. Nothing lived there, not a sole; only those who were dying physically or mentally. The ground was the only thing that stayed with them. Life was around however, hidden somehow on nearly open plains. The smell of animal pelt that was not their own always remained in the air, and there was an occasional foreign noise.

Many miles in, Kovu abruptly stopped. He saw something in the distance. It seemed so far away that it was impossible to make out what it could be. A solitary black dot at the very meeting of the earth and the sky, flowing in the heat waves of the afternoon. He wanted so badly to find out what it was, just to run all the way to its location. He realized they would probably just pass it if he was the only one that saw it. Kovu began to walk again, this time with a quicker pace. As he went a couple yards ahead of the others, he squinted at the object. Still undistinguishable, despite his fairly good eyesight. Things were already getting interesting.

Halvor increased his pace when he saw Kovu was quickening his. He followed his gaze and could justly discern a form out in the shimmering heat waves. He sniffed , but couldn't get hold of another scent than that of his companions. When he glanced to Jarl, he saw he had bent of to the left. He had dissapeared in some scrubbs, for a reason Halvor just couldn't make out. His brother always had been a little of an ousider, but he had gotten used to his impulsiveness and, sometimes, plain stupidity. Couldn't they just have a normal day?

Kovu heard the quick pads of Halvor on his tail. He knew if he sped up any faster, Halvor would be right there with him, and probably would not be in the greatest of moods. Could Kovu outrun him? Most likely, yes. But did he want to defy him, already having an unstable relationship with them as it was? No. Kovu heeded to his thoughts and began to slow down. He still wasn’t very used to not being “independent”. Something—maybe someone—was out there, and it had to have seen them, too. He counted on seeing it again.

The day was probably going to continue without issue, and now, as the sun seemed to be decreasing, it was best to find some sort of shelter. But, with a descent amount of daylight still left, the group had plenty of options.

Jarl heard the pig was runing away 'weart ?' he tought he crawld out of the ground and looked around .
It was not normal for a pig to run away in one of Jarls fine hunt tacktics, or moste of the time not.
He seen Kovu running to somewear and Jarl runs behind him witout thinking in Jarls eyes it was kind of a game.
but deep inside he knows somthing is roung or Kovu most spoted something so why not follow he always
did in his childhood .
And a bit deep inside his hard he hopped Kovu had seen a other wolf. So Jarl followd him hoping with hole his hard to find someone else.

Halvor noticed Jarl running towards them, and , shortly after, walking next to them. "What where you doing in those scrubbs?" He sked him, irritation clear in his voice. He wasn't in a good mood anyway, and his companions both seemed to suffer some mental...problems, as they acted quiet weird. First Jarl dissapeared into some bushes, only to come back running moments later, spilling body moisture in a hot desert, wich wasn't a good idea. And also Kovu incresing his pace, only to slow down when Halvor had come near. And then an unclear...thing at the horizon... No, days never went easy on Halvor, and he knew he would see many more strange things before day's end

||OOC||= I decided to move Kovu because of "midnight" complications. I'm sorry. It was definately my fault for the death of this thread. I tried to put big things into small moments, and didn't realize that a thread takes kind of long to really develop.Yet, both of you seemed to have moved on anyway, and I will, too. Again, apologies.

PS=was just about to send this when you messaged your last note. Hahaha, yeah I agree. I moved to fast and bored myself, and in turn everyone seemed to be a little bored.

Ooc: No need to appologize, to be honest, I wasn't really thinking it would go any further. I mean, one moment I even didn't realized I had to post in order for the thread to continue! *pokes brother who's asleep next to him* Anyway, altough the thread ...well, failed, I think Halvor has potential, going to store him for later. (Or post him next to some pack land border with a serious headache^^)

Cheers, Hendaron

OOC=Hahaha, yeah thanks for not taking it seriously. I always feel I have to really cover myself for my mistakes when it comes to anything online. You never know if there's a miscellanious person out there waiting to troll you, even if they're completely uninvolved with what other people are talking about. By the way, I know this isn't the time or place to be asking this, but what time zone are you guys in?
