| The wind picked up immediately as if the desert was protesting her very presence in it's barron waste. She would hunker her small silver form and would continue to run. Away...she had to get away. Mother and father loved her but they wouldn't understand. Tears rolled down her tiny muzzle, liquid pearls hitting the ground and the desert gobbled them up greedily. Her home was growing distant behind her. A dark shadow against the sea of sand. However she didn't pause and her feet kept moving. She had to find him. Despair. He would help her. He was kind and understanding. He knew what her heart held and why she was so hurt by the one she loved above all. And he knew how to find him if she wanted to find him. She would show them all that she was better than Echo. Damean would see that someday and instead of calling for Echo he would call for Navi. She pinned her ears and ran further. Then the wall of sand hit. Her world spun into a harsh darkness. Her eyes stung. She felt like she couldn't breath. She was disoriented. Which way? Despair's faint scent gone, scoured from the earth. Her own following his into the sandstorm. She would move and stumble into a rock and would move to the lee side of it. It was small but so was she. It offered little protection but it was better than nothing. She gasped sand burning her nasal passages but she wouldn't give up that easily. She was going to survive. She was strong. She was NAVI. | |

| A dark shape etched against the swirling sands, taking confident steps despite the torrent of granules. His head pitched down to protect his eyes. He was not distressed merely seeking something...The desert was his as Muerta was Akira's. Though few knew this crownless king of sands he would lurk this terra til Fenrir took him body and soul. The faint cry of distress brought his head up but back down again quickly. He may be king here but he knew who the true master was. The raging winds pressed against his fur and he lamented the wasted bath he had taken earlier. Ah well, it always ended this way didn't it? Two other forms flanked him and even through the dust storm he signaled them and they obeyed fanning out to either side. They had heard it as well...but they had not recognized or mayhaps not even noticed the subtle scent on the breeze, hard as it was to capture.
She found the small creature moments after Despair's signal, looking down on the poor huddled form she sighed. Fenrir take it..why did he have to abandon so many of his children to this wasteland and usually onto their care on the rare occasion that they were found alive. Head lowered like the others she barked sharply to cut over the howling and moments later he came pausing to sniff the tiny pup. He frowned and glancing at Sorrow he gave his best impression of a shrug and bent down and gently grasped the scruff of the she wolf and headed off onto safer grounds...

| MORTIFACTUS
Sand swept in his face as he wrestled himself trough the desert. Sandstorms...Yaaaaay.... He hated the desert, for him it was no less then a sandbox full of vipers and other treacherous elements. "Why of all places did you run towards here, you runt of a pup." he mumbled to himself. Mortifactus had followed her weak scent all out of Midnight, and her head start was fading, the distance decreassing. But he had to be fast, he wanted this one alive. For Evon. He hurried himself more, and started to run instead of quick walking. He'd rather just hide for the whiping sand, but he had a task to fulfill. Sand slitted in his face once again, but then the scent of the pup became strong. And then weaker. He had passed her... no, she was moving, fast. too fast for a pup. Damm.
An adult probalby, no certainly got her. Two other scents invaded his nares. He had been right. Now he was forced to follow them, and try to put his paw on that pup. Maybe... with some cunning. He cursed himself, but also thanked this oppurtunity, now he had some adults to toy with. Fun...

| Navi The sound of the storm roared in her tiny ears. She would brace herself against the harsh sand beating against her puppy pelt. Eyes squeezed shut and breaths shallow as her nose tucked to her leg instinctively to help filter the sand from going into her lungs. The sharp bark she didn't recognize in her fear. Frozen in place and in the swirling sands of time. She must hold on. The soft nose to her was like a mirage and her eyes nary opened to see what it was. Soon a new sensation came. Navi was lifted by her scruff and she gave a sharp gasp which was not the most intelligent of things to do in a sand storm. She began coughing and would clentch her eyes shut and curl her feet up as she was carried. She couldn't catch the scent of her carrier and she would give a soft whine as she felt them moving across the sands away from the security of her small rock. She swallowed. Her throat raw. But whomever carried her was gentle. | |

| Pushing though the whipping sands he kept his head low and his tail tucked. Unbeknownst to them that they were being tracked. Despair held in his mind a very detailed map of the lone lands, why would he not? Here was his realm though his stake was not of a pack terra. So with ease and years upon the sand he guided them to a hollowed outcrop of granite much more effective against the storm than the pups previous place of shelter, it even tunneled back a bit to become a shallow cave. Placing the pup gently down he shook his pelt out and moments later his two companions came in from the storm mimicking his actions. Sorrow paid more attention to her coat than the two brutes did, Despair's main priority the pup and Curse's eyes were on the entrance to the makeshift shelter.
Clearing his throat the black brujo lowered himself down and licked her face repeatedly trying to clear away the grit that had accumulated on her features. "Rise and present yourself little one" His soothings tones carried across the cave.

| Following the shapes who carried the pup from a distance, Mort made sure he stayed downwind, as he didn't want to note the others, whoever they where, of his presence. he counted three of them, just one too more then he could handle. Damm it, the odds where surely turned against him. And with the parents behind him... He couldn't waste time. He didn't had to kill them. But it would be oh so much more fun. The group dissapeared into a shallow carving. and he could discern a pair of eyes watching for threats. Atleast they weren't stupid. Mort dissapeared back behind the dune, and ducked behind a rock, trusting on his ears to tell him of their movements. | |

The small silver pup would find herself settled down and would hear the soft movements of the others in this shallow cave. Her face caked with sand, her eyes blinked open just as a soft tongue came to clean her face gently making it easier to open her eyes and see. It was Despair's voice who caught her ears and she would stand to her feet and look at him smiling. "I FOUND YOU!" she would say, voice squeaking, her tail wagging softly, and a smile upon her features. A joy filled her. "I knew I could find you Despair!" she would say feeling as if she just found the answer to her problem.

| Despair looked dubiously down at the pup. By her statement she had put herself in a near death situation looking for him and why she would be he didn't know. This was the pup from Midnight Meadows, Navi. Sliding to the floor to a laying position he surveyed her battered little frame. What a fool of a girl. "Where are your parents? And how come you were looking for me?" His voice came out a little sterner than usual. He was not happy with this turn of events, what if she had died while looking for him? While he had never been directly involved with the brute he had been around Link a time or two in the past and he didn't want to be the reason his daughter died. Though what if they knew nothing of their child's disappearance? Coils within coils with these younger generations.. | |

His words were harder than she expected them to be and she would flatten her ears. "My parents are back home." She would say softly letting her gaze fall with a soft sigh. "And I came looking for you because you said you would help me." Her eyes flicked up to him once more before falling back down. She felt the sudden feeling of let down now. Here was another who didn't really want her. She was so confused and hurt and here she thought that mabye Despair could help her...teach her...so she would be something that Damean would look at in a new light. She was his friend but every time someone new came she was shoved aside. "S..sorry...I thought..." She would look away. She couldn't go home and he didn't want her. What was she going to do?

| The sandstorm was still raging outside, and showering Mort with sand, even in his well covered hole...that was getting filled with sand. It was rather annoying then dangerous, and soon Mort felt like there was sand everywhere, even on places where he especially don't wanted it. He decided to act, and stalked closer, avoiding the entrance, so that his form would be unseen, until the moment he wanted it. The coiling waves of sand kept crashing on him, and Mort laid down on top of the shelter, to cver himself up a little more.
To his great suprise, he could actually hear parts of the conversation. He heard one adult voice, soonly followed by a faint, high voice, probably the pup. He could almost taste the dissapointment in the last words. Surely she was running out of options. He didn't knew why she had fled home, why she had searched this trio, and about what she was dissapointed. But he knew soon was the part where he would come in. And thus inevitably, Evon too....

| Despair kept his mature eyes on the little she wolf as she spoke timidly to him. She sought him out for help? When had he promised her help? Once her face fell in disappointment he let out a sigh and his stern countenance relaxed. It had been so long since he was a pup he forgot that perhaps her line of logic was not so straight. Placing his head on his mitts so that he was more level with her he spoke softly. "Hush little one, there is no need to be sorry. What you did was foolish and you could have died, did you ever stop to think of the consequences of running away would be? I bet you're parents are worried sick." Glancing outside the storm was still raging but it was becoming less severe quickly. He would have to return her back to Midnight Meadows...and he was so ready to return home. "Now speak freely and don't be shy about it, what sort of help do you want from me? Surely an old desert wolf like me can not give you anything."
Curse and Sorrow lurked on the edge of the cave occasionally glancing behind themselves at their leader and the pup. Curse had a slight smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. Clearly he thought the situation a bit amusing though whatever Sorrow's thoughts she kept them to herself. Her face pulled into a serious mask as she looked out to the monotonous landscape.

| Navi would look up at the wolf she had sought after. Despair. That strong desert wolf who she thought said he understood her...who she thought could help her. She would blink her father's eyes at him as he would look down at her upon her level. Her ears pinned when he called her foolish. She would pull her eyes and stare at a rock with heat in her gaze. She would lick her nose. She would turn and look back at Despair, ears still pinned because the child was angry. "My parents don't care!" She spat. Which was a lie and Navi knew it but of late she had felt so....alone. "They brought in ECHO...mother took her in without even blinking an eye....and catered to her tantrums....she is mean." She would say. "Damean likes her better than me too. Which is stupid!" She barked. "She isn't better than me." The young pup was so fiercely in love with her milk brother...even at this young age. "I thought you could help me....teach me....how to fight...and hunt...and be the best and then I could go see Damean and he would see me again and not just stare at dumb ol' Echo." A little woman scorned she was and she growled her frustrations. | |

| Mort was growing bored. All he could catch from the talking outside was some whispering. He started to slowly circle the hideout, but was wise enough to stay out of sight, and down the wind. He didn't really worried about the sandstorm, he had been in worse situations, he was more afraid that the wolves would bring the pup home, to her pack, where she would be even harder to get. After several rounds of circling the den, his agitation and frustration had become so pent up, Mortifactus took over the wheel, and he approached the den from a clear angle. Or they would let her go with him, and he could lead her to his Mistress, or there would be casualties... | |

| Despair looked down at Navi with lips pursed. She was very angry for such a young pup and it seemed that she was lashing out at all the wrong people. Already she was beset with the doubts and frustrations that came with growing up, yearning for acceptance and a place amongst those she loved. Her puppish ire had been raised, it was more cute than intimidating really. "Navi, I can not help you because you want to be liked by others. First you must accept and be yourself." He eyed her sternly, clearly her parents never had the chance to speak to her about this. She had probably run away before talking to them. Damn, Link and Cinder were probably in a panic right now and if they found her here it would ensure so much more trouble. "It is a hard lesson to learn child but sometimes you will not fall in favor with others and it is no fault of your own. And if Damean is truly your den brother than he shall come back to you in time though, it may be difficult while he lingers in Jabbar. Also-" But he was cut off as Sorrow growled deep in her chest.
Within a moment he was on his feet leaving Navi in the middle of their discussion. "Do not move child." He spoke not unkindly. Padding forward next to his beta he spotted the hessian moving towards them. Perhaps he was just seeking shelter but there was something in his body language that bespoke aggression. Curse moved to flank his leader, he was not quite snarling yet but he always seemed at ease even in the most tense situations. Despair evaluated the situation quickly and like the diplomat he was spoke in deft assured tones. "Greetigns stanger, may I ask you meaning here?" Eyes flashed with a hint of protection instinct for his pack and for the young pup behind him. He hadn't realized that the need to protect a child was still so strong in him, especially a child that was not of his clan.
Quickly he shot a side glance at Sorrow and with implicit understanding she sidestepped around her leader to be close to Navi. Perhaps this would make the brute believe that she was the pups mother but really she knew that Despair was placing her here so that he and Curse would meet this stranger with their larger bodies that looked fiercer than she ever could. Though it was no slight on her abilities to battle. She was not beta of his clan for nothing. She did not think this brute would be much trouble but it was a troublesome time in the world. She waited for the answer...

| When words came out his way, Mort stopped in his tracks. He took up the two males in front of him, the scent of a femme and the pup behind them. His lips curled into a smile, and he lowered his head a little to take on a more submissive stance. He wanted to get over with this, and he wasn't intressed in this getting any more complicated then it already was. He heard some growling and low voices, and the next thing he saw where the two brutes standing outside to greet him. He was confident in his killing capabilities, but he didn't wanted to take any risk of losing this.
"Hello there, I just stumbled into this sandstorm, and I am now looking for some decent shelter, mind sharing that little hole over there?" he didn't really knew what the whole deal was with the pup, why she ran away and who these wolves where. The least he knew was that they weren't family, as he had overheard the parents back in the meadows. He let out a small grin as he started to devise a cunning plan.

She pinned her ears and she clentched her jaws as he spoke of Damean. He was more than her den brother to her...and was about to protest when her lips parted to speak but then Sorrow's growl would issue forth.
She heard Despair's voice and she would turn and would look at the stranger that came forth. Her ears perked and she licked her nose listening to the stranger speak. She was angry...she had thought Despair would help her become what she dreamed of and she had hoped to prove to Damean that she was better than that ...ECHO.

He was still standing in the hollow crevace of the shelter, with the two other wolfs standing in front of him. His stance wan neither agressive nor submissive, but he showed that he wans't one to be toyed with. And he was getting impatient. [that was short >_<, it's all a little rusty]

| Despair eyed the wolf not trusting him. He had lived this long for a reason and he didn't share space with foreign wolves lightly. He was a wolf of this desert, haggard looking as he might be he was a tough old bastard. His ear flicked back listening for Sorrow and Navi. The brute had not made any aggressive moves towards them and it would be foolish of him to try anything. Three against one was not good odds and this trio was anything but weak. His eyes flicked to the world outside and then back to the brute. "I have no issue with you sheltering here bru though if you would care to you may sit on that side of the den." Despair indicated the further position from themselves. Just because he did not hold packlands did not mean he was not territorial. If anything he was more so because of this reason. He and his wolves had been in this desert for so long now. He had long put past any grievances of loners cutting though for what was the purpose of the lone lands if not that? "You shall have this shelter for yourself soon enough, the sands are calming and we shall be departing soon."
The clan densite was not to far away and he wanted to make a stop at the oasis before continuing on. He was concerned about Navi, he knew how devastating sandstorms could be and he worried about how much she had gotten in her cavities. Curse eyed the hessian with an upturned brown but didn't deign to say anything. Instead he glanced at Sorrow and winked the she wolf gave a low growl to him. Clearly she wasn't comfortable with the situation either and made the point clear by completely blocking the child from view. Her lithe form spoke of all sorts of aggression but that was just the way she was.
Despair looking once more at the brute stepped backwards to shift to one side of the small cavern. never turning his back. It would go against all instincts to do so in the presence of a stranger. Unlike him though Curse gave the stranger one more cursory glance and settled where he was in the middle of floor, reclined on his dark haunches.

| Mort overheard the bru's words, and nodded. "Thanks anyway though." He then turned, and made his way towards the part of the shelter closest to the entrance, and laid himself down. How uncomfortable this wolves felt with his presence, it almost seemed like they where paranoid to him. Altough a decent sense of caution was never out of place, especialy with strangers. He eyed up his "companions" There was the older bru, and a not so old bru, and the smaller femme. And, maybe most important, that pup. Nadi or something. He couldn't remember all to well. His mind was slowly churning out an idea, but he would need to wait for the perfect opportunity. They would get really suspicious (and probably aggressive) if it turned out he had been already watching them for some time... | |

| Navi would look over at the lone wolf as he spoke and she tried to watch him as he settled. Well that was until Sorrow blocked her view of the brute. She gave a soft sneeze clearing her nose of sand and slumped to the ground. Despair wasn't going to help her.....Damean Jr. would be lost to Echo...if she couldn't prove to him that she was better. At least...she felt that way. A soft sigh and she walked out her paws and curled up. Her eyes stung from the sand and her coat felt dirty. She wanted to shake but suddenly felt tired. Her eyes closed and she watched the other grown wolves silently. | |

| Despair shifted back towards Navi and frowned at the pup. What was he to do with her? He had no choice but to keep her for now. Though he would have to keep a sharp on her lest she try to run off. "Curse." He spoke to the brute in low tones, and while he did not move from his position the brutes ear flicked back indicating that he was listening to his leader. "When we return I want you to seek out my son and bring him to me. I know he's been off roaming with Desidius." Curse nodded his head slightly and sat in the middle of the floor, closest to the other brute.
Sorrow's eyes flicked at everyone in the cave. She was an aggressive female at the best of times. Turning her deep grey eyes on Navi she surveyed the pup. Of course she had heard the conversation between the pup and Despair. She was a tiny thing but that didn't mean much if you had the skill to use it. Though pups would never be much of a match against an adult in most scenarios. A slow growl rumbled though her chest. Stepping closer to the now curled up pup she not unkindly began to lick her face using her years of experience to get the better part of the sand granules out of her coat. She had a few pups of her own and this type of grooming sentiment was nothing new to her.

A soft tongue would hit her face and she looked up with fierce eyes at the fem who had been doing much of the soft growling since the stranger had entered the cave. She closed her eyes feeling the fem, Sorrow's tongue lapping at her face gently cleaning it of the sand. Her tail gave a slight wag in gratitude and she let her eyes flick back to the stranger as he spoke thinking she was Despair's own get. Maybe if she was things would have been easier. | Curse's eyes ticked to the side when the brute moved and Despair turned his whole body to watch the brute. It was not until the bru was standing closer that Curse rose to his feet in a defensive but casual position. He was exuding easy goingness but there was a savage edge to him. Something about his smile...it curved up just a little too high and his eyes were ever so sly looking. He grinned easily when he was addressed shrugging his shoulders. "It's no kin of mine, more of like an afternoon snack. Crossing the desert is hungry work you know." His grin grew wicked and one might not know whether he was serious or kidding. Sorrow had stopped in her grooming to watch the advance of the male and she was already uncomfortable as is but now the brute had moved closer and was inquiring about the pup. Her lips pulled back slightly, her canines threatening to spill out.

"...Lacrimosa, when I was caught in this storm that made us cross our paths." Darting his head low slowly, he glanced under Sorrow's belly, and gave the pup a friendly smile. "she's a lovely one though, far to pretty to be eaten." At the end of that sentence he turned and gave Despair a wink. After that he settled himself back in his part of the shelter.
