She stands up, careful not to disturb the, now sleeping, pups by her side. She nuzzles the side of his face. "S'ok Ember. I'm just glad there were no serious complications." She turns her head and looks sadly at the still born. "What should we do with him?" She yawns.

Ember sighs and says " I don't know I haven't had pups since... " Ember shuts his mouth up. If he had said anymore Quest would have... well she might... Ember wasnen't sure. A long time ago he had a mate. She was terrible and cruel. One day they had a fight... Ember killed her, no one knows his secret. After the insident he wanted to start over, Quest was the key.

OOC: If you look on profiles for rougue wolves then look up Ember- wolf of mysteries you will see that one of Ember's Enemys is someone that no one knows except for Ember. Ember's old mate is that person.

Quest nuzzles him. "Maybe we should bury him?" Her head turns towards the pups and she licks them one by one. "What should we name them?" She looks at Ember, giving him the "curious pup" look.

Ember nods and begins digging a hole. Almost every step in a wolf pack was over for him. He found a mate, bonded with that mate, had pups, hunted but a few things were left. Someday a wolf would want to join their pack, a bear will attack, the pups will grow up and some will leave, also... Ember's time will come. Soon the hole was almost dug.

[color=red]Quest steps over and helps dig the hole. She picks up the pup and sets him gently in the hole. She covers the hole and jumps out. She lays down next to the pups and uses her muzzle to guide them to her side. She looks up at Ember. "What should we name them?"/color]

Ember looks at the black boy pup. Names flash through his head but one name sounded perfect " Well the black boy pup could be named Shadow. " said Ember. He then looked at the silver girl pup. More names flash through his head. " And the silver pup should be Icedancer. " He left the other 2 for Quest to name.

She looks at the two pups left. "I like Slade for the boy and Cloudpelt for the girl." She watches them wriggle and squirm. She nuzzles all the pups.

" Then it's settled. " Said Ember. " Shadow, Cloudpelt, Icedancer and Slade. beautiful pup names. " Said Ember. I'll go hunting, I'll be right back. " Then he slid into the mist.

Ember dashes forward. His heart pounds like caribou hooves. He slides behind a snow bank then peeks over it, there was a herd of elk!!!

Ember leaps at the deer, only to catch a hoof to the head, occompanied by a loud crunch. Quests mouth opens in a silent cry and she runs toward him, but she cant move forward."Ember! Ember! EMber! EMBer! EMBEr! EMBER!"

Quest jolts awake and collects the startled puppies and sets them against her stomach. She had cried out his name in her sleep. She turns her head to the entrance to the den and stares at it intently as she waits for him to come back from the hunt.

Ember lays on the ground. His white fur is drenched with blood and the caribou runs away. His eyes shut closed. he is unconscious. If he had been a little more careful this might have not happened. As he falls into unconsciousnesses he slowly whisperers " Quest... "

Quest begins to worry when a long time has passed. "A hunt shouldnt take this long." She says aloud to her pups. She makes up her mind and picks up two of the pups, placing them on her back. She grabs the napes of the other twos necks and jogs softly outside. She twitches her nose as she tries to find his scent in the mist outside. She turns and softly gallops in that direction.

"Ember!" She cries out when she sees him laying on the ground. She rushes forward. She cant even tell where the injury is from all the blood. She shifts the pups on her back and slides Ember on. She turns her head towards the nearest pack and takes off.
