Site Stuff

I keep making pretty things.

Screw it. I'm taking all of these graphics and dumping them into a thread on the graphics board. But, because I like to show people what I have, here's some more!







It's a simpler theme, but I have a profound love for simplicity. In the second image, the "engraving", as I've been calling it, I found off of Google Images. Apparently it's a sign of Fenrir, so... Yeah. I didn't make it, but I found it, and since it's an actual emblem... Hmm. Well. You get what I'm trying to say.

There is just so many options I could go with..my goodness...Silvers why you do this to me!?

Well, most wolves changed to black and white will generally look alike, right?

But yeah... in short, all of them look awesome XD

Awesome ^_^ And I didn't notice that the topmost one resembled my avatar o.O

But there will likely be another or two. I'd like it to match whatever color scheme Silent chooses for the site.

Oh my gosh! They're all so pretty!!! Can't you just rotate through them? Hahaha. Umm... The most bottom one- the neutral tan colored one with the map background looks really nice- simple yet aesthetically pleasing. I like the one above it, because the text matches the fire and ice theme. (the one above that one does, too, but I just love the eye of Sauron-ermm... the wolf.)
The bottom one on the second post looks like a nice winter theme. And the most top one reminds me of your avatar.

And I really do hate double/triple/multiple posting, but... MOAR! Because I like experimenting, and I'd really like some input <.<

And, well, I still really like the main picture we have up now... It's so colorful, and it works well for the site. But I also felt the need to experiment. Of the 3 I made, the only one I'm somewhat frustrated with is the third one... The wolf, because the picture was lower in quality, looks grainy... And if I tried to blend it, it turned out very blurry and just very blah. But I like the whole map-like design, as it goes with the actual maps I made. I dunno. Tell me what you guys think.

Yeah... The code part I expected to be difficult as hell... So I'm not sure what more we can do on that... Also, blue background when typing a post? I don't have that... I think I used to, but it never shows up anymore. That actually might be a configuration with your computer, I'm really not sure though. It isn't a problem I run into... O.o ... And I'd love to scrap BBC and just go with HTML. So much easier to format. I like the black as well, it's very nice on the eyes. We could do a dark/icy grey, either solid or pattern. The stars are very pretty still

As for most of the site aesthetics and coloration, I'll leave that part up to you... I was mainly just thinking of putting up a new main image, banner, buttons, yadda yadda yadda. But hey, we like pretty things, don't we? And no, we won't do something like FWP. Not our thing. Just something new, but still familiar with everyone.

Oh. And I have no idea why, but for colors... I like purple. Just a random thought <.<

Wow, you won't believe what I spent most of the day doing! I made the pack maps. And a new main map. It looks significantly different from the map I posted a while back, but it retains the basic outline and landscape features. I'd post them all now, but... let's just say technology is being a butt. I'll be posting them within 24 on the map thread. GO LOOK AT THE MAP PAGE!!! I MADE PRITTY THINGS!!!

And yes, I will redo the banner. I made that when I was a total noob with photoshop, and I didn't know you were still using it. So, trust me, a new one is on the way.

We all know how much I love redesigning things. =) As I so mentioned to you the other day silvers. Also though keep in mind this forum makes it really @#$%&#$% difficult to do so. It's a lot of reading the code and putting in specific colors and stuff. But what I also wanted to do was try and get a few of the kinks out like the blue background when typing a post...or the empty white boxes when you view someones profile. SO to do this I might completely scrap the code we have now, and in place set another preset one and proceed to tweak it to how we want it. It's such a pain in the ass >_> Oh MSN groups why did you leave us!? But I like the black bg as well..though I wouldnt be opposed to a dark grey (icy grey)xD

And im always down for some epic looking graphics.

Also I see the layout as more...shall we say fun? But depending on what everyone else says im down for a more mature look. =) Though not intimidating..or stuck up *Fantasy cough cough*

edit: On a side note I would also like to continue our project with the individual maps for the packs. But that can wait a little longer til I get my lappy up and running because you know Im going to go crazy..

edit edit: As for the banner I was going to ask you if you could redo something, while i love that banner it didn't shrink well >_<

I like the black background. It's easy on the eyes and it allows MOST of the colors to show up nicely.

I hate it when people write in the regular blue...cause I have a hard time reading it lol

Visual aspects ...hmmmmm...... I LIKE THEM

The theme is FNI of course so wolves or fire and or ice would be good

And moving images are kickass

ANDDDDDDDDDDD........I am all up for switching things up It makes things fun. If we don't like it we can always change it up again later! NOMS

So, as the graphics designer, I'm thinking of doing some site renovations... Mostly the images, as everything else is Silent's job. It's the turn of a new year, and I personally like to keep things fresh and updated-looking. I'm headed to you guys for advice/input as to what you'd like to visually see - the main image above, the pack link images, etc. I know you usually say "Whatever looks good!", but this time, I am really wondering what kind of things you'd like to see. I have a small survey below that would greatly help me:

What visual aspects do you currently like about the site?

What visual aspects do you currently dislike about the site?

What kind of visual aspects would you like to see?

Is there a particular theme, color pattern, font, etc. that you like or would like to see?

How do you feel about moving images/.gifs?

Anything else?

Personally, I've been playing Skyrim a lot, and am inspired to do something a little more Nordic-themed, especially considering that the "creation" of the lands of Fire and Ice were by Fenrir. And, well, I just like the whole Scandinavian/Viking/stuffandthings. Of course, I don't want us to look something like other wolf roleplays. I like the amount of simplicity here, and I think that allows for the most creativity (OH! AND WE'RE NUMBER 18 ON THERE! WOOHOO!... Speaking of which, Silent, after these results, I plan on making a new banner for there. It's rather amateur-ish, and I can do much better than that.)

Of course, if it comes to the general consensus that we all like the way things are, well, they'll stay that way until we feel like changing it. Tell me what you think
