Kovu felt slightly surprised, but pretty relieved, that he had somewhere to stay with other wolves for the time being. Maybe the desert wouldn’t kill him. His body was starting to feel like it had been chewed up and spit out on a regular basis. His pads had been sanded raw, and his maw always stung from the elements hitting against his face, but he wouldn’t let that make him shrivel up with fatigue. “I need water…now.” It wasn’t a demand, but he wasn’t going to hesitate with that answer.

" 'Course hun." Dea moved so that the water hole was in his sight. Her tail taps slightly. The clan had been experienceing a huge boom of new wolfs. She was excited about that. She nods her head to the water in case he hadnt noticed it.

Kovu barley nodded in response as he moved ahead past Dea. His hair bristled at the near of a glistening clear pool among the nothingness. Standing at the foot of his own reflection, he fluidly lowered his entire head above the surface. The sudden sensation of life coursing through his vains made his neck go limp, nearly drowning himself in the water. He didn't care that the liquid felt like glass sliding down his throat. It was a long time before he let himself leave the pool and move back to where he had been. Silently, he sat on his stomach, trying to convince himself he was safe and could rest.

Bhaal's large black form was down against the ground, his eyes watching the family of Bighorn goat in front of him. While he suspected he was on par in strenght with the ram, he was in the clear disadvantage of not being rested and fed. No, he was hoping for one of the lambs, that where to his eye around half a year old. He Waited for the wind to settle down, and launched himself towards the goats, who where justa metre of ten away. The ewe spotted him first, a black mass storming at her young. Her eyes widened in shock, as Bhaal swept in, crashing into the panicked family. The ram was the first to leave, followed by one of the lambs and the still shocked. The last lamb never had the chance to run. It was now hanging lifeless in Bhaal's maw, ir's windpipe crushed. Bhaal dropped his prey, and wasted not time. He gnawed his way in trough the underbelly, choosing organs over muscle as his dinner. After a few minutes, he had already stuffed himself. Rising up, he looked down at the half eaten cadaver. In a rare moment of caring, he picked it up, and returned to the place where the others had been.

Approaching them, he noticed the newcomer to sit next to te drinking hole. There was this weird feeling about this one, it had something to do with his smell. there was a vague memory in his head, but he gave it no second thought. He moved over towards Kovu, and dropped the carcass at his feet. "Here, you look hungrier then a bear after the winter." He took a few steps, backing up a little so the others shouldn't feel intimidated. He swiped his glance from Kovu to Dea, and spoke."While he eats, you gotta tell me what in Fenrir's name you are trying to do out...here." There was an intonation on that last word. As "here" was pretty much the same as everything in the lonelands. Dry. Deadly. And boring. Bhaal mostly resented the last.

Kovu blinked hard as Bhaal broke into his view, taken out his daze from staring into space. What followed surprised him even more. As Bhaal dropped the carcass in front of him, he couldn’t help but give a curious look. Why? Kovu looked up wanting to thank him, but still sat without saying a word. He began to devour the muscle tissue without question, the knot of hunger in his stomach untying. He couldn’t describe what kind of meat it was; he didn’t care. Continuing to eat at a steady pace, he look up from his gifted meal to see the conversation between Dea and Bhaal, wondering what she would respond with.

Dea grinned softly. "As I said before, we are trying to make a place for wolfs to stay in the Lone Lands without the trouble of Dark Vs. Light. And to get aret and some food and water on their travels. We thought this was a pretty good location, so we chose it. Has enough room for plenty of wolves. And a pretty good prey selection. Alos has lots of dens."

"Heh, you know, my brother told me once; 'Bhaal, no matter where you go, how hard you run, how good you hide, you'll always be you.'" He licked his fangs for a moment. "With that he meant that people can't hide from the trouble that's you call 'dark against light', but only from the wars that exist because of it. Take us two as an example. I am perhaps as dark as someone can be, where you are a kind, light wolf. While it seems we can get along now, there's still chance we can have trouble between us. And if there where trouble here, then wolves couldn't come here to hide from it, you see?" He sat down taking a more relaxed position before he continued. "And no matter what, wolves always have trouble with each other, that's their nature." He wasn't trying to talk her down, but just gave his view on what she was trying to achieve here, which in some way, was impossible. Now he was curious for her response, and if "trouble" would follow.

"Nothing is impossible. If certain things werent possible, me and you would be fighing right now. Now, who wants a place to rest?" She had provided them with water, and Bhaal had provided Kovu with food. So the main need left was rest.

Enterni glared at the water hole. She could not resist and soon was gulping it down. "May I have a den to rest in? I need some rest." She turned to Dea. Dea was so kind.

Kovu tried not to laugh at Bhaal's word. He did have somewhat of a point in the matter, although Kovu himself couldn't precisely say what exactly he was. His lineage told him he would be Dark; His morals told him he would be light; and being considered neutral was...boring. Of course, he considered himself a bit shy, but not boring in the sense where his life was dictated by a purposless ideology other than to continue living. He didn't know if he should be thinking of something like that, but he would probably share it sooner or later. In the mean time, the mention of dens made his ears perk. He wasn't so much tired as he was eager to establish a place as his own, which he truely never had before (unless he were to count the desolate patch of woods he had survived in alone for about a year of his life). He sat up slowly, looking towards Dea and Enterni and following intently. He glanced back to see what Bhaal was planning to do, and continued to follow, unknowing of what to expect.

You'd be dead... Bhaal discarded the thought, and he moved with the rest of them, walking next to Kovu. He gave him a quick glance, and saw...something. Just as Congen saw something in him, years ago. "Where' you from, little fella?" Where someone cam from sometimes tod alot. Much more if they didn't want to say. In his eyecorner he could see the goat family from earlier, standing a few hundred way. He smiled. He always smiled when he had caused some despair and sorrow in someone's life, be they wolves or not.

Enterni followed Dea to the dens. She picked a comfy looking one, cuddled up in it and hoped for the best. She wondered if things would turn out right here. Would her moods tear this place apart? Enterni wondered. Her name did mean Internal Night, could that mean something?

Dea made sure that everyone who followed her was comfortable and in a den before turning away. She trotted away, following the Bighorn goat family. Finally they stopped to munch on some dead grass, the other lamb slowly walking away from the family as it followed the dead grass trail. Dea carefully stalked over, not letting the lamb hear her. When she was close enough she jumped forward. She sunk her teeth into its neck and dragged it to the ground before it could make a sound.

She dragged the carcass over to some dead bushes and hid it in them so that she could collect more food for the visitors.

She stalks over to the Ewe. She stalked up to the pair, then kicked a rock in the opposite direction. The Ram turned its head and walked over to investigate, leaving the Ewe vulnerable. Dea grinned. This was really just too easy. Paws hit the ground silently as she got ever closer to the Ewe. Crack. She acidently stepped on a stick that broke under her paw.

The Ewes head flew up. Without thinking Dea jumped forward and snapped it neck. The Ewe fell down, dead as a stone.

The Ram bellowed, charging after Dea. She yelped, jumping out of the way. It spun and kicked her in the chest with its hind hooves. She was thrown backwards. An enraged snarl built up in her chest as she leapt at it, succesfully crushing its wind pipe after it managed to create a shallow cut in her shoulder with a horn.

She hit the ground with a thud, along with the, now dead, big horn ram. She grabbed one of its horns, and a leg each from the other two Big Horns. She started dragging them to the densite.

"Dinner time!" She called out as she finally dragged the creatures into the center. She had had to move carefully, so as not to disturb her bruised ribs or upset her shoulder.

PostSubject: Re: Midnight Mist Rogue Clan   Midnight Mist Rogue Clan - Page 2 Icon_minitimeWed Feb 15, 2012 6:26 pm

Kovu hesitated with the question Bhaal asked him, trying to actually think of an answer. “Grew up in a remote forest on the outskirts of these Lone Lands. Just me, though. My parents died when I was a whelp, so my sister kind of took care of me. But she died, too…” The fact didn’t bother him, but he still didn’t like talking about it. Meanwhile, his initial perception of this wolf seemed to already be changing. Maybe Bhaal wasn’t so bad. Maybe this place was where he belonged. As the dens came into view, Kovu broke out of step with Bhaal and hovered towards the first area he saw. He didn’t care which den it was; they all had plenty of room and were adequate for him. Possessing a den in a place that was so rare of safety or shelter was good enough for him.

By the time he had finished looking over and examining his sleeping space, Dea was gone. It wasn’t long before he found out where she had gone, listening as the nearby wails of Bighorn goats filled the air. The distant hooves and a final thud signified the end of the concealed conflict. More prey? The exaggerated sound of dragging weight grew closer, before Dea finally revealed herself once more, now holding the spoils of three Bighorn goats. She clearly was a skilled hunter to have captured three goats within minutes, far better than Kovu anticipated anyone in this group could manage. However, it was also clear that she had not escaped the battle unscathed. Her steps were ginger even factoring in the added weight of the Bighorns, and to him, her shoulder appeared to slump forward. Showing some concern, he spoke. “...You’re OK?”

Dea blinked and looked up at Kovu. "Yeah, I'm fine." She moved out of the way of the carcasses in case he was still hungry. She walked into her den and laid down. She covers her face with her tail ad falls asleep.

Enterni arose from her den. She smelled food and could see Kovu out with it. If Enterni was to stay here, she would have to make some friends. Soon Enterni was out with Kovu. Enterni began eating the ewe. It tasted sooooo good! Enterni hadn't eaten very well for a while, it was nice.

Kovu never turned down more food, watching as Dea left it out before retiring to her den. He usually didn’t know when he’d get more. Moving close to it and gorging his face into the still-warm ram, it took him a while to realize Enterni was eating the ewe next to him. Between short, slow lunges at the carcass in front him, he glanced over towards her. “So, I never really asked, but what brought you out here?” Kind of a friendly conversation he was trying at, as he was already adjusting to a desolate existence, once again.

The elder with a dark pelt walked slowly. He knew the brute was here. Another Midnight. He was here. He had met him once, for a brief moment in time, before Curse... whatever happened to her he didn't care anymore. Kovu. That was the brus name. He met him a long time ago. How he would introduce this he didn't know but he had to try. It just past a small border the scents came rolling in and the large male came around the corner to see the wolves, targeting out the biggest, Kovu, in a matter of seconds.
"Ahem" he said softly coming to the group. "Excuse me..." he said again. Not directly talking to Kovu though that was why he was here... why he had come here, maybe now he could have a new motive... These wolves... they could help the rest of the wolves if they so chose to...

Waiting for an answer from Enterni, he ceased eating at the sound of an all-too-familiar voice. Lifting his head slowly, he realized who had arrived, his eyes telling how surprised he was. Though the familiar Midnight was not directly addressing him, he quickly responded. “You…You? Why are you out here? Actually, here’s a better question: how did you find me?...” He assumed no one else knew who this was, or why Kovu, of all people, knew him. He still clearly remembered meeting him; his mate and him had allowed Kovu to join their ranks for a short time, because of their common lineage. He hadn’t even thought about his family since then…the fact that they were all Midnights and he never truly made the connection. His body had not aged since that day, but his mind certainly had. The last Kovu remembered, he was supposed to go on a hunt with them or something, but that was the end of it…

Bhaal had just laid himself to rest between the shadows of the scarce underbrush, mere mettres away from the rest. A new scent invaded his nares, and he rose up slowly, his massive black form silhouted against the sun. He turned to give the newcomer a glance, but when his eyes fell on Kovu, he could practicaly read the young one's mind. Unexpected visitor. Bhaal had already noted Kovu's ability to hide his emotions, but some things you only learned woth the wisdom of ages. Not that Bhaal was old though, he had just already experienced enough to fill a lifetime.

Slowly proceeding towards the group, Bhaal took the newcomer up. A dark-pelted brute, fair in size, altough Bhaal's form was still greater. He couldn't recall from where he had seen that form until he got closer. The newcomer looked familiar, altough he was fairly sure he had only seen maybe distant family of him. Way back, in Muerta, there was a younger lad who had looked alot like this one. Shrugging of the thought,he took position at the corner of the newcomers view, eagerly awaiting whatever it was that would be following.

Dea strode out of her den, intent on getting some meat. She halted when she saw the newcomer. She tilted her head at Bhaal and Kovu, silently trying to ask what in the world is going on. She didnt interrupt, however, as she could tell this was something important between Kovu and the stranger. She walked around them, out of their way, and towards Bhaal. She sat down next to him, and whispered. "Any idea whats going on here?"

Pichtra turned his attention to the wolf he had come to see being addressed with such a manor he hadn't heard in a long time. A smirk toyed with the corner of his maw but he didn't let it slip across his face. "Don't act like you can't always feel us somewhere." His hind legs folded and he sat down. More wolves came around and he let his eyes scan them all over. Two males and a female. Interesting. And here, among these wolves he knew two. Pichtra had a long memory of faces, he hadn't caught this males name before when he was in Muerta but he had seen him none the less. Why was he out here? Why not stick with a pack. Maybe they were more alike then he had thought.

"Kovu." His black cranium turned towards the green eyed Midnight and he eyed him cooly. "If she comes back, if they both come back. No matter how persuasive they are, Do. Not. Go. With. Them." he made each of his last few words stand out, and he knew that the younger brute would know who he spoke of. Curse and Harmi. "There was a lot more going on then we all thought and I'd rather you keep away from that business" he looked away towards the female who's whispers, the sound not the words, could be heard. "I'm Pichtra" he said nodding to them. "Consider me a long lost uncle to Kovu here" he smirked, they were of the same bloodline, so family was a way of putting it.

"I've come with a proposition for you all actually. Kovu I had come to find you, but you've brought me to more wolves. Think about it and accept or deny..." he paused looking directly at Bhaal. "But before I speak of this fun, why are you out here?" He wanted to know some more before he dropped it on them all, they didn't have to accept this offer, he wasn't going to pressure it on them, that wasn't his intentions at all, with Kovu firstly or with them.

Ooc: hehehe things are turning out really intresting Very Happy

Bhaal lowered his gait, and looked Dea in the eyes, and softly whispered. "I don't know what, but this definitly is getting intresting." He heared that the wolf now adressed all of them, and he rose up to speak. "You know, I just passed by here, but if your proposal is fun enough, you'd could count me in." Altough the place had offered him a good rest, he was getting slightly restless again. bhaal never had stayed around a place to long, except when the place could offer him, more...bloody entertainment. "But I have one question though. You reek the same as a wolf I met in Muerta, family of yours?" He remembered a particulary bloody scene that had played out there, and he almost killing one of the Alpha's litter. Nonetheless, he remembered the brute, as it had been one of the few that had stand up against him, and survived to tell the tale. Altough that had been largely because Congen had been around. And Kiaki, altough he wondered where she was now. He hoped she was safe.

Dea tilted her head. "I'm Dea. I'm out here because I started this little place with my mate. And I would like to know more about this proposition before I say yes or no." She stood up, letting out a quiet hiss as her ribs reminded her not to make any sudden movements.

Kovu was at a momentary loss for words, trying to fill the void with the reason of why he came here, even though the question had seemed to be directed at Bhaal. Desperation, as usual, was probably the answer. Luckily, Bhaal and Dea filled in some blanks in time before he mentioned anything. “I don’t know…I stumbled upon this place…and it provided shelter, something I don’t find too often. I haven’t even been here for a day.” Maybe Pichtra’s proposition could benefit him; give him some stability, rather than allow another crazy loophole that made chaos but left him alone in the dust. He also thought his notion of being a “long lost uncle” to him was kind of funny; it was fine by him. “Whatever it is you’ve planned, I’m willing to hear. I want to know.”
