She was bantering, that at least was progress to this little friendship. He smirked as the howl broke out and she said she would have to race him another time. "Well. That was easy... now I don't need to attempt to show off" he smirked and followed after her. She seemed to hesitate with the advancement to the call. Then a second call rang out and it sent chills through the air. He ignored it though as Dae spoke out to him yelling as they ran. "He told me he would eventually... When things would be settled down. He'd know when the right time was" He caught up to her and kept up as they ran down the side of the mountain. He followed as she took new routs going to the call. A hunt huh. His mind went over the things he had learned as a pup, as a wolf, and recently. He'd have to impress her mother... and not just her mother, but the queen of Muerta. Great... he would do that. He could do that, he'd have to...

A hunting call. He moved at a leisurely, seeing as there were new scents and he was interested. He saw a red pelted wolf, looking at the faces, as if searching. For what, he didn't know. Everyone who came to a pack seeked.

He silently walked up behind Axel and said quietly, "Ya new in these parts? Word of advice: I'd be careful where I step with most of these members if I was you, 'specially the queen. Hope she notices the other tenderfoots first. The other one here looked in a hurry, so he'd probably be speaking to her first. You look like ya don't know what ya gett'n into." With a smirk, he added, "The lost usually get completely eaten up here. Don' worry 'bout me at the moment. I like it here, but I like wolves who seek fun just as much. There are far too little of those."

It had been far too long since there was any fun, but he didn't quite want to see a slaughter for no reason at all. If there was a small reason, maybe. He couldn't quite help that side of him. After all, he found himself in this pack.

Dae glanced over her shoulder and rolled her eyes. "You can stop with your pitiful attempts at flirting....it's not going to work." She grinned over at him and then would let that smile fall as he spoke of her brother returning eventually. She gave a soft sigh. "I should bite him for ever leaving me behind..." She whispered angrily and then would continue their trek down the mountainside.

Soon enough they would breech the clearing and she stopped on the edge of the wood seeing her sister and mother waiting. Taking a deep breath she held her tail fitting of her position as princess and her ears flicked forward as she would step out into the open ground. "You best hope my mother is in a good mood. I cannot guarantee your safety." She warned softly as they drew closer.

She tipped her dial deeply in respect for her mother and nodded to her sister. "Hello mother." She said and then looked at Downfall by her side. "I have found a visitor...his name is Downfall." she introduced. "Downfall..this is my mother. The queen of Muerta."

AXEL

Emerald eyes flashed over his shoulder to a German Shepherd. A smirk toyed with Axel's dark lips. "Oh, I could've told you that," he said in the bru's reference to the Queen's dark demeanor, as well as the pack's overall dark quality. Their stench was something he noticed the moment he had set foot on the rocky terrain and in the black forest surrounding them. However, it was a smell that he was clearly used to - he carried it on his own pelt, afterall. Axel leaned back on his haunches, sitting casually. "I'm glad somebody finally noticed that there was an unfamiliar wolf in their lands. You would think that a bright orange coat would be hard to miss," he snickered, giving his very fox-like tail a flicker, though he was all wolf. Maned wolf, that is. An oddity in a place where there were so many lupine-looking canines. "The name's Axel," he said with a white, wily smile. Perhaps it only seemed so white because his muzzle was so black. "Got it memorized?"

He returned the smirk, although a bit more lightly. "Perhaps we think we can attend to ya'll as we see fit while dealin' with anyone unwelcome in these lands. No point in worryin' if we can take down everyone, right? Or so many of us flaunt. That's no fun, though. Between kill'n, I like messing with others... Which reminds me, when she comes back, I might send my cousin back towards that new dog pack just to see what's going on. Doubt my fellow residents are aware of it, since they've not been out lately."

His features settling into a grin, Stark continued, "I'd say you'd be surprised the obvious things unseen... although I get the feelin' you actually might already. Anyways, I see it as something else for me to rub in to the others if I want to stir some fun. I'm Stark. Pleased to make your acquaintance, if having fun is a side hobby to destruction. If not... I reckon I could get used ta ya anyways." His eyes glinted in a playful manner. Hades had been an enjoyable chat, but he had a goal and didn't stop long to talk. Axel... there was something about him. Stark didn't know what, but he was intrigued, rather than put on guard.

AXEL

"You talk funny. I like you," Axel said with a rogue smirk. He gazed at the semi-circle of wolves before them, arriving to the Queen's request. There were old ones, young ones, big ones, and small ones... But there was not the one he wanted. He sighed, shaking his maned head. "Stupid kid..." he muttered, snorting. Large, fox-like ears flicked towards Stark when he mentioned something about a dog pack, and a sarcastic laugh couldn't help but rise in his throat. "Who woulda thought," was all he said, for he knew that he didn't have the time to get distracted by such things. He had a mission to do, a mission that had a ticking clock.

"Say... You haven't seen a blonde yearling around here, have you?" he asked the Shepherd, seeing as he could be the most vigilant of the pack. "I'm lookin' for him. He's just a kid, but somehow he always ends up in a mess of trouble. You'd know him if you saw him."

Downefall laughed at her comment about his flirting. Well she noticed, so it did work to an extent. He didn't comment on her seeing this but he did comment on her making a comment about biting her brother. "Give him an extra one for me. I miss him too" he shrugged showing a bit of emotion, a bit of sadness. Killian had become a dear friend to Downefall. When they approached the area of the call he smiled and nodded to Akira. Yes, he knew who she was. "I wouldn't be called a visitor, I'm hoping for a more permanent title if you'd allow it." His eyes swept over the wolves gathering. The pack members, interesting, he hadn't been around a pack in a long time. He looked around then back to the queen then to Damkira. Interesting. She wasn't as evil as Killian had made her out to be. A silent chuckle knocked around in his head but his face remained stoic.

((I keep forgetting I haven't replied...))

Stark grinned at Axel's comments, knowing the maned wolf hadn't meant it in an offensive way. "A yearlin'... Naw, no 'un like that. All recent scents match a wolf currently here or those who left that I recognize. The lone lands outside this pack are vast, though. Or maybe he stumbled 'pon another pack. I dunno. Sounds like you need ta find him, else he somehow causes some catastrophe. I wouldn' complain if it were ta happen where it stirred up the good kind of trouble, though."

If this was this wolf's goal, he'd probably be leaving soon, maybe not needing to see the queen at all. It seemed like most of the exciting wolves were busy with tasks. He probably should be, too, but there wasn't anything interesting to do. Pin was still wandering, picking up information elsewhere, sticking to the shadows, and should be back soon.

Dae had heard his comments about biting her brother but held her tongue and flicked her tail. Her brother....seemed ...to have a close relationship with Downfall. She took a deep breath and she would look at him as he introduced himself and requested a permanant title in their pack. He was a constant surprise....joining the pack only because her brother bade him to watch over her. A deep breath and she stayed silent in respect to her mother's voice. Her eyes did not drift to Damkira. She still held a grudge against her sister for what had happened.

Mercy was shortly behind the gathering procession, her smoky coat rippled in the dappled forest light. She scented some that she hadn't seen before and she stalked curiously past Stark where she paused and looked pointedly the wolf he conversed with. She gave him a once over, sniffed, and turned her head up and proceeded to the 'inner court' next to her sister who was with yet another stranger wolf. My, my, what had been happening when she wasn't looking? Her eyes settled briefly on Damkira whose call had initiated this gathering. After a moment she looked away a feeling of...disconnect washing over her. Taking a deep breath she schooled her features in a casual but attentive visage. She would participate same as all the others in the hunt, though she had no interest in being the most showy or blood thirsty. Besides she liked to take a different approach to things. Her time briefly out in the world had always kind of put a special tint to things.

Odin was quite a ways away from where his sister called from and huffed as he heaved his body up. Already his body was starting to become corded with lean muscle, his face became less puppyish and more defined and sterner looking. Coupled with his blinded milky left eye set off by a startlingly blue right eye were particulary eerie and probably intimidating in years to come. Shaking his dark pelt he gathered his stride at a decent pace his head questing back and forth observing the forest. So much more alive than anyone knew.. Finally arriving at the gathering it looked like a few had beat him, a few hadn't. All his siblings had beat him and another stranger who was standing right next to her. His nostrils flared and as he stepped through the others who gathered stepped pointedly in between without looking at either. It wasn't aggression that made it intense but the promise... Eyes on his mother he waited for her words before they began the hunt.

Akira voice had joined her daughters at the end but she had done a well enough job of it for now. The pack came that was all that mattered. Her daughter stepped towards her with a stranger and her eyes flicked back and forth between them. They had been together for some time, she could smell him on her. Something hardened in her face and she locked eyes with Daenarys but she was spared the iciest of looks as it slid off onto the one so called Downfall. And then he spoke words blubbering out...they always blubbered. So rare did she ever sound sharp. Her son Odin stepped between them a moment later but ever so studiously. She saw the implication behind the move though and it made her reevaluate the situation at hand. To say Akira grinned just then would be mistaken and though her mouth turned up there was no smile to be found. "Come then. See that a goat doesn't throw you off a cliff, though they're probably the least of your worries." Such a vicious undercurrent to her words. "Goes for you as well! her eyes looked to the one who stood beside Stark. She didn't really give a shit about whether or not his business involved this but he would participate or be run out.....or die. Dying was always good.

"That all? Great, the rest will catch up." Then she turned on her paws and plunged into the canyon leading the hunting party to higher elevations..

Axel couldn't help but smirk at Stark's comment. "Oh well. Thanks for your time. Like said, you'll know the kid if you see him. He's a bit hard to miss sometimes," he said, and stood up. At that same moment, the queen took notice of him, quite clearly not in the mood to deal with newcomers. He shrugged his black-hued mane at her comment. "You know, it wouldn't be the first time someone has tried to chase me off a cliff. Happens more often than I care to remember," he replied, emerald eyes growing with delight, and he waved a paw in her and Stark's directions. "Sayonara, bloodthirsty hunters. Let's hope you catch a good meal and not each other's tails," he said, bowed his head, and then swept off for another, more northernly pack. He wasn't sure what he would find, but he guessed that he would in time. As many of the problems Roxas had and caused, Axel knew that he never did very well on his own. He would want to find a pack, some place he could fit in, be normal and forget his past. And besides, Axel knew that Roxas wasn't stupid enough to wander out in the desert, where there was nothing but death to greet him there. No, Roxas was smarter than that. Axel knew he was... Because they were like brothers, weren't they?

Daenerys looked at her mother as her mother's stern eyes locked with her own. She felt a fleeting dissaproval before her mother looked at Downfall. She wasn't expecting her mother to approve of him....after all he meant nothing to her ...save a connection to her brother...right?

Odin then slid his body between them, to which she flicked an ear curiously to why he would place himself there but then shrugged it off. It didn't matter though she hoped her one eyed brother would not think she couldn't handle her own battles. She touched her nose to his shoulder in silent greeting and then glanced over her other shoulder to see Mercy and gave a flick of her tail to welcome her as well.

Mother's words hit her then and she would show no emotion to them. Muerta was no place for the weak. Her startling blue eyes looked to Damkira and wondered just where she fit in this now. She was no savage any longer. Hardly a threat and yet mother kept her close. She wrinkled her nose slightly at the thought.

Then mother would stand and call them to the hunt. Dae stood giving her siblings and Downfall a look. "Good luck on keeping up." She whispered toward him and loped off behind her mother as they took off into the canyon.

Once heading down the rim she sided her brother Odin. "I have not seen you for a while brother. How are you?" she asked. He had always been strange...aloof...but he was still her brother. She may not have been as close to him but she was definately closer to Odin and Mercy than Damkira.

Jr looked at the brute before him as the song of his queen hit his auds. He snarled snapping wildly at the brutes face before turning and dissapearing into the shodows of Muerta. He followed the sound till he reached the others. He wondered where the rest of his family where but then it was not uncommon for them to just fanish. He moved to where the others followed Akira. His pads not moaking much of a sound. His neon red pools glowing as his blood raced ready for the excitement of the chaise.

Stark watched Axel off, saying, "Happy searching," before turning to see Akira leap into the lead, carving the route for hunting. That wasn't something he saw wolves do often- waving a paw like a trained dog would on command, but it wouldn't be surprising if it was just because of his personality. It was an amusing sight to see, he reflected, as he followed Akira and the pack. He was looking forward to the hunt, always looking for a place to unleash his energy. His ventures into the lone lands had done him some good, but that wouldn't have lasted long. He looked ahead, seeing the direction the queen was taking them in.

Up and up they went her mitts taking them up the nooks and crannies winding around the mountains. They would not need to go up so far that it would become cold but the air was thinner here and she did not mind the feel of cold that settled in her bones just from climbing the behemoths of Muerta. Ears flicks as rocks tumbled down the cliffs sharp eyes watching for any sign of prey. The key to this sort of hunting was getting higher than your prey then descending down on them. They would have no where to run unless they were unusually clever and managed to shimmy through their lines. It was no matter to her, there was always ones that was not so clever. Not only did she look for the the ibex but also for other predators. It was not unknown for the great cats to lurk these cliffs but for the most part they kept out of sight and left the wolves alone. What was one predator against a pack? Especially this one. As they climbed higher the air grew dry and less and less vegetation was apparent. Her tassle began to flick in earnest, the only sign of the blood lust rising in her veins.

Stopping at a junction where one path angled upward the other downward she flicked her head and spoke. "At least one of you go down and travel adjacent to the rest of us. We are going higher yet to see if we can scare the birds from their nests." Of course by birds she meant the agile and fierce goats that frequented these slopes. Without waiting to see who and how many would volunteer the bottom slopes she moved ever upwards her teeth clacking together. She was quiet but the pack was bound to see and feel the aggression coming off her in waves. Akira who didn't really need anybody had to admit that there was nothing much like a hunt with the pack when they raged as one. All the violence that lay under their muscles in a combined whirlwind of terror and the scent on the air of their own hunger and the fear of those they hunted. Her eyes almost rolled back in the sockets.

Mercy had followed at her mother's behest almost as eager for the hunt. It was still a sort of novelty to her and by no means was she or her siblings experts on the matter. Better to have experience. Her mouth tasted bitter at the thought. No matter how they struggled against it time would always be the adversary and the aid. Sighing she trotted along flanking her mother and passing Dae's new friend. She shot him a wink with a coy smile and moved ahead before he could respond. When it came time and her mother split the group she shrugged. "Fenrir give us steady rocks" Smiling she took the lower route her ashy form quickly blending in with the granite face.

Odin kept pace with his sister being his usual quiet self. When she asked after him he shrugged and smiled lazily. He was perhaps almost always stoic but when it did occur to him he would quite willingly display emotion though it would flit across his face only to disappear in moments. He knew others thought him queer but it was not all that complicated in his mind. His voice was low and deep as he spoke but his lyrics soft as a caress. "I am faring well, i prefer to remove myself from the strain of the pack." His eyes leveled hers. "Have I been gone too long? Sometimes I can't really tell..." He trailed off moving his gaze back on the path. He was completely ignoring the bru who had been with her but to an observers eye it would not be obviously apparent whether it was from dislike or indifference. Or maybe just forgetfulness. He leaned over and nosed his sisters neck a small smile played around his mouth. "As always you smell of hopes and dreams sister. And of brother." He paused then as if thinking about his brother for the first time in ahwile and decided to pass that conversation for another time.

Same as everyone they paused as they got to the junction and he watched as Mercy took the lower portion. He paused waiting to see where Dae would pick.

Dae took a deep breath hearing her mother's words and she too stopped. Her ears flicked forward and she watched little Mercy move by with a coy look to her companion. She then felt her brother Odin's soft voice in her ears and the gentle nosing against her neck. She shook her head. "You have been here brother but lost in your own relm I fear for a while now." She knew he was different. Different not like weak...but different in a way that sometimes when you looked upon him the tiny hairs on the nape of ones neck or at the base of one's tail would stand up....not in fear but of something entirely different.

He told her she smelled of hopes and dreams and it made her laugh and she flicked Odin with her tail...only to have it still itself when he mentioned their brother. "I think your nose may be off Odin...I have not seen our brother in a long while now." She said but he fell silent and then looked after Mercy as if changing the subject as he was oft to do in that odd way.

"I will take the high route." She said to no one in particular. It was more dangerous running down that slope pell mell after a meal...but better her than Odin or Mercy. Not that they were weaker but she felt if there was anything she could do to help protect them. She looked back at Downfall and wondered if he would follow her like he said he would and if mother would allow it?

She would be the one of the youngest in the pack of Mount Muerta. The six month old puppy looked up at the mountains in their territory. Her long legs needed a rest, since she had come from the mating territory, where her mother and father found a den close to the lone lands. She growled as she walked down a steep hill. She snarled as her shoulder with each step she took. It was from where she was sparring with her siblings, which they had dog piled her and landed on her shoulder, breaking it. It seemed that the herbs didn't hurt, but she wasn't going to cry to her mommy for help. Her mom was pure and she was dark. Her warrior bulid had started to come into shape. She knew that she wanted to be a warrior when she was old enough. She loved to spar. While her siblings broke her, she didn't hate it because of that; but before she could think on it more, she was at the edge of the territory.

Her hazel eyes looked about, the green tint showing in the correct postition if you was there. Her fur ruffled softly as she breathed in the cool, short breeze that blew. She lifted her head in a dark, warrior sounding howl. She looked back from where she had come from. It looked like to her that she wouldn't be going back. Not now, not ever. She looked at what she could see of Mount Muerta. She was glad that this would be her new home. She sat slowly, waiting for her call to be answered by the same alignment as her. Dark.

It was just about even, two of Akira's own deciding to stay low. Everyone else might as well take the high road. A little exercise downhill didn't scare him, as he'd made it a point before bothering to venture this far. He wouldn't crash.

A howl made its way to his ears and he held back a snort of irritation. Perhaps the queen intended to keep the wolf waiting until the end of the hunt? He'd like to see that. Stark continued to slink along the path, following after Akira and her children who were taking the same path, taking in the scenery while paying attention to slow down when those in front of him did.

Akira strode forward knowing that everyone would fall into place. Her ears flicked as a distanct howl echoed from somewhere in the west. The fool of a wolf would have to wait and damn her if she came upon the hunt and disturbed it. She was not overly concerened about, it was a goodly walk up this mountain and Akira knew that their work would be soon to start and soon to end. She led the party higher and higher at one point stopping and dropping in the dirt and rolling quickly. No one would have to ask to see what she was doing. Her pelt was instantly darker and not as like to catch the eye. Traveling along the granite face she tread carefully avoiding loose rocks and picking out the natural staircase in the rock. The vegetation was getting scarcer and there was less things to hide behind but Akira had walked these mountains for most her life and cover was not always the key to success. Still, she kept low and went fast slinking into the trails of the mountain. The scent was on the air and the wind was in their favor for now. Stopping she glanced behind her catching Dae's eye and motioned her head forward while Akira cut out and climbed higher still. There were different levels to this net and she intended to snare her prey. There was nothing quite like a good haunch of goat.
Odin heard his sister's words about their brother but did not comment. She would always smell of him no matter how far he had traveled. Mercy took the lower route and Dae chose the high. "Safe hunting sister." And he stalked after Mercy his coat too was a mottled gray that tended more towards black though. A gift from their father. He trotted down the trail he glanced up to see their mother climbing higher and higher until the rest were out of sight. Taking his own breath now they just had to wait for the games to begin.
The air was thin up here but that was alright. Made you more alert but she slowed her breathing as to not get a headache and to calm her nerves. She needed some violence. It was like a throb against her heart. Once she was certain that she was high enough and had seen enough traces of habitation she began to move parallel again. Hoping that she would be above the goats. That was a hope that always came true though. Some would be higher and some would live another day and some...would not. Creeping along she finally spotted the lookout. It thick muscled body poised dutifully on a rock...facing the wrong direction. Using that moment she once more gained the heights on him and abandoning secrecy lunged into the open not bothering with a battle call. Only fools announced themselves to their enemies. The goat hearing the clatter of rock caught sight of the wolf and bleated a terrified scream before leaping off sounding it's siren. Akira was close on it launching her body along the rock, sliding and scambling with purchase with the expertise only a lifetime of experience provided. She immediatley saw others fleeing, a toothy smile ended up on her maw. Now it was time to heard...

Snarling she ran down at thos who got stuck, creating a barrier between them and safety. If the goats gained the heights than the hunt would be over, even Akira could not hope to best them on so steep a cliff. Snarling she advanced forward, the panicking animals leaping down and way from her. Smalls slabs of granite slid everywhere. A small cascade of pebbles beginning their rain. Still she advanced to push them further down and towards the waiting trap..

Daenerys looked to her brother Odin and gave a soft nod. "Safe hunting to you as well brother." She said giving him a sweep of her tail. Odin had always been a bit strange but she never faulted him for it...some days she wished she understood him more. A deep breath and one last look to Downfall and she began to climb upward. Her mother's pace was swift and silent and she mirrored her as they moved up into the scarce coverings of the high cliffs. The air was thinner up here but it did not bother her, her mother had taught them to drink slow deep breaths to compensate for it.

Her blue eyes spied the lookout and her mother didn't hesistate but charged sending out the alarm call of the lookout. The goats scattered but she kept on her mother's heels. A white shadow as the shale slipped from beneath her paws. She snapped and helped drive the goats downward, seeing one trying to make an escape to the safety above she cut it off and blooded it's nose, almost loosing her footing but recovered as it rolled down the hill and rose to it's feet once more. That one should be an easy target for the trappers below now. Her heart raced with adrenaline as she moved, sliding and jumping the dangerous slope alongside her mother. Death a companion in this run ....one small mistake and he would be on them, though for Dae, luck seemed to be on her side today...thus far.

They ere finally high enough and found the goats. Akira surged into motion, silently, and Stark followed suit, angling off so he could cover the other side of the group. Being a dog, he was lower to the ground naturally and had the advantage of running closer to his normal speed unlike the wolves with taller legs who may or may not feel more unstable. This allowed him to keep up with the other wolves while running further away to stop the group escaping the other direction.

He nipped at the legs of the goat, not unlike a herding dog would. Stark wouldn't have known it, though, having grown up away from the tainted human contact for the most part. Unlike an actual herding dog, he picked one out and bit down harder on one of their legs, smart enough to know to keep unneeded prey alive and well. The goat surged ahead and towards the ambush group. Stark mentally nodded in approval of this. It was already slowing down, but even Stark wasn't dumb enough to lunge at a goat while running downhill. He would, depending on the situation, actually... Now it was up to the team below, and he kept his eye on the goat he'd injured, continuing to guide it into prime position.

The two sisters had heard Akira's call, and from the outskirts of the territory they had begun the long trek towards the area from which their Queen had called. The two were side-by-side, moving in sync, until another howl distracted the older. Their strides paused, and a heated discussion broke out, leaving the younger on her own, while the older took off on her own interests. Vengeance could not understand her sister's distractability. Their leader had called them, and thus they should respond accordingly, instead of being torn by mere selfish interests. There was nothing to gain from indulging in one's curiousities. Power and strength could be achieved only through structure and obedience. Growling, the young fae moved on, leaving her sister to her own devices. She refused to ignore Akira's call, and put an extra effort into her trot now. She wanted to gain the Queen's favour, since she had spent the majority of her life merely growing and training. Now she was ready to take a place amongst the ranks with the rest of the adults.
Her short, powerful legs took her quickly the scene of the hunt, yet she was still far behind her packmates. She saw them split off in different directions, their fleeting forms dedicated to the hunt. She paused for a moment, only to wonder which positiion she should take. She snorted, berating herself for being so late and having missed the plan made by the hunting party. She wondered if she could be any use at all. With a growl, she strode forward again, wanting to partake in some way or another. She came to the edge of the sharp incline, and looked down upon the jagged cliff that the wolves and their quarry seemed to scale so effortlessly. Refusing to show hesitation, she plunged over the edge, careful with her footing but not wanting to waste time. She was coming up behind Akira and her kin, but not too quickly, trying to observe their actions. She didn't know where to start. Then she saw the goat that Daenerys had injured. If the younger femme could do her part, Vengeance could as well, not knowing about the wolves waiting below to ambush the prey. Excitement suddenly flushed through her veins, for she knew the wolves around her wouldn't recognize her much, but she would make herself known. She quickened her pace down the rocky ledge, nearly slipping here and there but managing to keep her grip with strong claws.
Her lips curled with anticipation as she neared the prey, passing by Dae recklessly and pursuing her target. As the herd scrambled, the goat she was after struggled to find a path as it stood at the edge of a nearly straight drop, and found itself hesitating a moment too long. Vengeance lunged at the creature, taking it out with her hefty body and sinking her fangs into its neck. However, she had used too much force and knocked the goat off its feet, and she soon found herself tumbling down the cliffside with her jaws clamped onto the animal's neck. There was nothing under her paws to grasp onto. She bit down harder, refusing to let go of her catch, but she was scrabbling for a hold on the ledge. She landed with a thud against a rock jutting out from the cliff. The goat still squirmed for life, but she hadn't let go, and it would soon be over for the creature. Tensing and digging her claws against the rough surface, she held on and looked for a more suitable surface to reach. Then she caught a glance of the distance between herself and the jagged rocks below. Nostrils flared, and she looked away, spotting a safer area just a body-length away from herself. Knowing she would need to jump, and wouldn't be able to carry her catch at the same time, her tail lashed in frustration. She laid the body down, placing her paws over the warm corpse. Then without another moment wasted, she made the leap to the mountainside where she no longer hovered over a deadly fall. Feeling annoyed, she glanced at the goat's carcass, thinking of the waste she'd made of it, then began clambering back to where her packmates were...
-------------------------------
Winter had heard Akira's call indeed, and had intended to come immediately. However, another call had rang out, the voice of a youth at the edge of Muerta's borders, and she couldn't help but to respond to the newcomer, curiousity getting the best of her. She wouldn't be bothered by her sister's arguements, though she was glad her sister was ready to do her best and find herself a rank amongst the pack. Winter, on the other hand, though loyal as she was, had her own agenda at times. This time, she simply could not ignore the call of the youngster, and had to find out who it was that stood at their borders. Tail high and glossy black coat shining, the brawny female made her way towards the young femme that had called. Smirking, she hoped the fae wouldn't be disappointed that she wouldn't be greeted by the Queen herself, but Akira was never one to grace newcomers with her presence. She was much too dignified for such a medial job anyways. But the black witch was not so opposed to greeting new faces.
When the other came into view, Winter gave a quick glance over of the female, but did not slow her pace until he was within 10 ft. She held herself high to give the other the impression that she was not one to be trifled with, and such a notion was true. However, it didn't look like this little girl was here to cause any trouble, and she certainly woudnl't give Winter a hard time. The femme didn't look quite right, like she was sick or injured. Icy blue orbs narrowed, trying to observe the whelpish female a little closer to see what was going on. The way she sat, it was as though she favoured one side over the other, keeping weight off of her one shoulder. Winter quirked a brow. "Do you know where you are, little girl?" she asked, her tone somewhat mocking as she tested the waters with this pup, "Where are your parents?" She couldn't see much reason for someone so young coming to a place like this, either she was lost and didn't know what she had stumbled upon, or she was really itching to set her dark side free. Waiting for a response, Winter licked her lips, watching the little fae with sharp eyes...

Akira's moved her part watching some of the pack make their hits. Odin and Mercy moved at the bottom of the slope bursting into action as soon as the goats were near. Odin launching himself up the hill while a terrified goat tried desperately to out maneuver him. He paused in his chase as a smattering of rocks came tumbling his way. He danced to the side and snarled in frustration as the goat evaded his grasp but luckily his sister was one step ahead and shied to the other side so as to still be able to pursue. In one elegant savage lunge her mouth clamped down on the goats hock, it cried out and terror but lost its footing. Odin was there in a flash before it could lash out and break anything with its hooves. He clamped down on its throat with such ferocity that it did not suffocate to death instead he just crushed it's throat. Blood seeped through his teeth and for a moment he felt a mad rush of adrenaline much like his mother would feel. It threatened to take him into its lust but the moment past and he oriented himself once more. Mercy stood next to him panting but looking up. An unfamiliar wolf had just madly taken down a goat and was sliding recklessly down the cliff....if she wasn't mistaken that was Vengeance. She had seen the wolfess infrequently in her daily pack life.

Watching her coming closer to the edge of a deadly drop her stomach clenched but miraculously they stopped just before. She watched the fem jump to safety, frustration evident in the set of her body. Mercy wondered if there would be a way to recover the goat but thought the birds would get to it first. She grumbled and pushed Odin with her nose to move again. They still had a chance to catch something more and that was evident by the way Stark herded some poor sot down the cliff, having bloodied it already.

Odin sunk lower once more while Mercy moved parallel, he moved quickly and hid himself behind a rock, it's attention was on Mercy the demoness snarling and descending on him with terrifying speed. Once it was close enough Odin sprung his trap and within moments they bagged their second kill. Without thought he threw his head back and let loose a howl with his sister following. It echoed up the moment sending birds into flight. A howl of triumph.

Akira did not join in but continued to slide down the mountainside until she was some yards from Vengeance and she surveyed the scene. "Back on the that ledge and push it off. We'll see what we can salvage from the fall." And then she continued her descent. They would eat well tonight and she stopped when she heard labored breathing and rounding a few large rocks spied a young goat with a twisted leg laying down in a growing pool of blood. "Ahh, how did we miss you?" Luck was with them on this day. They could stash much of this meat for later. She fell upon him quickly.

By the time she reached the bottom with her haul Mercy and Odin had dragged the two other carcasses together and and she put her own kill next to their. Amber eyes shone with violence as she looked up to see check on Vengeance and see where Stark and Dae was.

He'd peeled off to the side, seeing Odin and Mercy taking position to kill the goat. He maintained a position where it wouldn't run off course, and watched as the two effectively came in for the kill. Stark slowed to a stop near the carcass pile. They celebrated with a howl he listened to, not often hearing wolves showing their successful hunt in form of howl... or any celebration at all. It was only now he noticed there had been a fourth kill... on a ledge. There normally would be a loss of meat when shoved off a height, but they had plenty of kill to make up for any loss and still have a surplus.

Out of curiosity, he glanced around, noting not everyone was present. Earlier he hadn't paid any attention, too interested in the hunt. Now, he noticed some wolves not gathered, and his teeth tugging at him for more blood. The scent of blood had riled him up, but he already started to calm his mind, his more dominant, relaxed state quickly taking over. Being excited over blood when there was no more reason to was a waste of energy for him... energy that experience told him he could need at any time, and therefore kept in reserve. His experiences traveling yielded annoying, but useful tidbits to keep in mind.

Mercy's eyes looked up tracking her mothers to see what Vengeance would do. She was little acquainted with the fem having not seen her much around the land. And there was always that little incident when they were pups...her eyes gauged the jump and it was enough to make her spine tingle. She wasn't really a fan of heights, hence her chosen path at the bottom but she would do what needed to be done...not that she envied the position. Instead of watching and having the inevitable gut wrench she dragged her eyes away and landed on Stark as he made his descent towards them. She smiled at him, her body was flushed from the hunt and her eyes sparkled with the victory. "Good job up there, it's not easy chasing these things down." Most managed to just herd them, Stark had managed to at least bloody one and quite effectively guide it their way. She shot a sidelong glance at her mother who was intent on watching the Veangence. "You think she'll be alright?" She muttered still not trying to watch the perilous jump unfold. Odin who was standing nearby glanced once and shrugged. "She'll make it." He spoke with conviction and Mercy believed him in that moment having never finding flaw in her brother's statements. It was almost eerie at times.

He couldn't help but grin at Mercy's comment. "Perhaps that's one small advantage to lookin' a little diff'rent. You two did well yaselves, workin' together like that to kill them goat. Pity about that one." He nodded where it seemed like everyone was watching Vengeance. She had appeared out of nowhere and joined in the hunt, either not noticing the ambush or wanting to catch a little something by herself. He didn't care which, since they got to watch her jump back to the ledge she'd just gotten out of. Despite the perils of living on a mountain, it probably wasn't often even these wolves make it habit to take the most dangerous route. Stark was still sure she'd make it, agreeing with Odin's response to Mercy.

"Yer brother's probably right. If she can get out, gettin' in isn't that bad. She'll try that much harder if she doesn't approve of me here, anyways. Wolves always try harder to one up folk like me. Although it might not be a bad thing with them tenderfoot pack of mutts building. I dunno why they're here, but I don't know how any dog from two legger land think. They might be smart and keep to themselves, or they'll be dumb an' venture too close or try an' attack. Either way, we should keep 'em in the back of our thoughts. Pests tend to multiply and cause problems, even if they're far away."

He raised his head when the walls of the mountain pass opened up into lands he had never seen before. A temperate forest of ash, birch, oak, and evergreen lay toppled on the stark and rocky faces of mountains, like an angry god had taken the world and crumpled it together. A map balled up and thrown away. The mountain peaks tore into the pale and wintry sky, capped white with recent snow, likely colder than hell frozen over. It contrasted the lands he had come to known- with its rolling hillsides and amber skies, warm and by the sea, but perhaps the Fates had led him on this path for a purpose not yet known. A great deal of guilt and punishment lay on the blonde leekohs' shoulders, and so he pushed onward into a place likely to not lift this weight, but let it crush him.

It didn't take long for the smell of a pack to reach his nares. They had a bit of a foul stench, like old blood and war, but what was he expecting? A warm welcome? No, these were not the lands of oil and wine, as he had come to know. There would be very much to learn, so very much, and it would be fitting for what he had done. Not wanting to trespass any further than he believed he had, he raised his head and released a howl, for whoever would answer. He then sat back on his haunches, his paws dry and cracked from his journey thus far, waiting for either a wolf to reply or approach him. His mouth ached of thirst but he could see nor smell no water near. Yes... Wherever he was, it was not going to be an easy place to live.
