Relief flooded her as she heard her adopted daughter's words flow forth and saw the moment of affection between father and daughter. She smiled brightly and felt joy. She was estatic that Liar wanted to be the pupsitter for her own siblings. Everything was settling down and it made the anxiety in Calypso suppress a bit. Dial nodded in agreement to a walk and talk with their daughter and then her eyes widened in suprise with Liar's next words. She was shocked to hear that Liar had already smelled the pregnancy, if Calypso could she would have blushed for now the whole pack new with Liar's words. She smiled shyly and could feel the stirring of life once more. These pups will be strong..she thought silently to herself. A slight crease worried her brow when Liar disowned the throne but then she saw the light in Liar's eyes when she looked at Khal.
Her blue eyes sparkled and she smiled softly, a knowing smile, and then looked at Jack. Catching the purse of his lips. She leaned over and touched the base of his ear with her nose. A silent communication that seemed to say~ Look...like us. In Calypso's opinion, Khal was one of the best things to happen to Liar. He would be her rock...the moon that helped control her tides. Calypso sighed a content sigh and shifted her weight from one foot to the other. Her belly was begining to get rounder and in week or so she wouldn't have been able to hide the fact that she was round with whelps.
Jack's laughter and Liar's enthusiasm brought a happy note to the next question out of Jack's maw. Calypso knew that the three siblings would excell in whatever role they chose and wagged her tail softly at the thought. She felt a wave of tiredness seep into her and then sat her obsidian haunches on the ground. Pregnancy woes! Calypso wouldn't trade them for the world.

Watching Liar make up with her father, Khal felt a swell of happiness that was unlike anything that he had ever experienced. Well, anything before today. It seemed as though, in these past few hours, some power above had just decided to turn on a light on Khalon's world, and now he was basking in it's glow. She was giving up her role as heir, but that mattered little to him. If they were to ever be together, he would have made a terrible alpha, he knew it. At one time it had been all he ever wanted, but now... now, that dream no longer applied. Liar was the only dream that he needed. He was content to run with the pack, to be led and to live without the crushing responsibility that had made him grow up too fast.
His heart had leapt for Calypso, however, when he heard the news, and he looked affectionately at the black alphaess. She had always been good to him, as well as Keanu and Kia, and he knew that he was going to learn to love her as a mother and mentor in the art of compassion. She was that sort of wolf. Even now he could see her glowing at the news. She would make a wonderful mother, and any pups of hers would be lucky to have her. He thought back to his own mother, and a touch of sadness reached out to him. He could barely remember her features, and her voice was just a distant whisper in his mind, slowly fading. He sitll remmebered, however, everything that she had taught him and his siblings, and that helped a bit. At least she was not completely gone.
Liar's nudge caused him to look up, however, and a rush of affection flowed through him. As he looked up and caught Liar's eyes, the sorrow faded alrogether within his sights, replaced with a warm devotion that was as measurless as it was pure. Everything else disappeared for an extended moment, and he smiled to match her own, golden eyes sparkling also. Then she broke away from his gaze, and regretfully he let the present return to normal. He saw Jack's look and a twinge of nervousness reached him once more. He could sense Calypso's quite support behind the gesture that she shared with her mate, however, and it helped. Liar wanted to be a healer? Khalon smiled, giving her ear a brush with her muzzle as he whispered, unheard to any but her, "you would be an angel among healers, and the pack would be lucky to have you." He looked at Jack for his reaction, hoping against hope that he would say yes. When he did, Kal's tail swished once behind him, and he looked over at his siblings, smiling. They could go first.
Kia's face lit up when it came to be her turn, and she grinned back at Kal. "Hunter. That's what I would choose!" She dug her claws into the ground, picturing the thrill of the chase, the pure power that she felt when letting her body stretch out and run to it's fullest. Not even scouts had the chance to run as a hunter did, for with her, instinct would be her only guide. "That is, if it's alright with you." She ducked her head, remembering her place again. It wasn't really her call to make.
Keanu nudged his sister supportively, but inwardly he envied her for her quick choice. He turned his mossy eyes upon Jack, sure that his unsure thoughts were shining through loud and clear. "I am not sure." He looked at his brother, who had a similar expression held within his features. "We have never held ranks, and therefore have kind of picked up skills as they became necessary. I am an okay fighter, but not powerful, and I am not diplomatic enough for scout." He shook his head. He couldn't think of one area in which he would excell. He looked at Calypso. "Perhaps... perhaps you know of something you would like me to try?" The question was indicated at Jack. Calypso looked tired... maybe she should be resting, considering the news that he had just witnessed. A small warm feeling came into him. Every pack wolf loved pups. It was innate. Khalon looked at Jack also, dipping his head. "I feel the same way, though my strengths really lie in my size and fighting, and so I think I have chosen. I would be honored to guard our borders as a soldier or guardian, for I think that this is how I can best serve the good of the pack. This is only if you agree, though, Jack." He kept a neutral expression on his face. He wasn't sure at first that he wanted to spend the rest of his life fighting.. but now he was. There was no way that he could sit by if an enemy entered their packlands. He wanted to serve as the force that would keep that from happening.

| Liar was proud to stand next to Khalon. And when he whispered into her ear she felt a tingle run down her spine. She wanted to turn and nip at him for making her so dizzy like. She hadn't noticed the look she was giving him till her concentration was broken by the approach of her two other...'friends'. She smiled at Kia's direction when her and Keanu walked up. Her eyes sparkled as her friend proclaimed her known talent. She was so sure of herself, and the way her body reacted to her choosing made Liar giggle a little. Keanu spoke next and she tilted her head a little to the left as he spoke. He was so much older. Or he seemed to be. Kia was like herself. Younger at heart, though Liar had been having a hard time showing it...showing happiness. Her eyes automatically fell onto Khalon and she gave a soft side smile to herself. Now it was his turn to tell of his rank. She listened and nodded slowly as he spoke the two simple words. Her eyes grew wide with fear and anger and she rounded on him quickly. "WHAT!" she blurted out. "A what or what. Wait. So if someone comes to attack you'll be first to gung ho join the party of attacking wolves?" she eyed him coldly and turned to her father begging for some support. Her meaning was already across without her having to say anything. | |

Black auds tipped forward as she listened to the siblings replies and she cocked her head thoughtfully as each of them said their peace. But as Khal spoke Calyspo looked at Liar and saw the fear and anger come to her eyes. Calypso herself knew that fear, it was the fear of loosing the one you loved with all of your heart. She understood her daughter's pain and frustration but she also knew that you cannot keep them from what wolves were born to do. Some were hunters, soldiers, guardians, spys...some were born to be alpha's...some omegas. Poor Liar she just didn't understand that it was Khal's choice, she cannot control him. "To try and control a wolf is like to control the wind...it cannot be done." Calypso thought of her granddam's words. She remembered hearing them as they were spoken to Calypso's own mother about her own father. She sighed heavily and welcomed Jack's quick thinking.
She felt his touch and watched as he stalked away. She gave Liar a heartfelt glance and then padded gently away after him. Her blue eyes found his and listened as his lyrics came to her ears. She closed her eyes and lowered herself to the grass, it felt cool and nice on her swelling belly. When she layed stretched out like that there was no denying there were pups on the way. She sighed softly and looked at Jack gently. "I think Kia would make an excellent hunter, she is good at it and will only get better with time. " She said with a thoughtful look upon her dark face. "Keanu, now.....hmmm. He is very competant and I know he says he wouldn't make a good scout but I have a feeling he would. But if his heart isn't in it then I am not sure. He could be a hunter also until he figures out his interests." She sighed a heavy sigh once more and then went on. "What are we going to do about Khal? I understand Liar's worries but every wolf has a calling and I think he would make a splendid guardian. He has all the assets you would look for but I am afraid Liar won't understand if we allow it."
She looked across the dens to the gathering of wolven. "What of Red? He has stuck by us through alot. We should grant him a good postition also. He is extremly loyal. Yana is new...he can wait. I am not sure I fully trust him yet." Looking back to Jack she gave him a smile and blinked her sky eyes softly. "What do you think dearheart? And she gave him a tired but happy smile.

Khalon looked on happily as Liar responded well to his siblings' rank requests, her support and friendship towards his family meaning the world to him. He would have followed her to the ends of the earth if he had to, but he knew how badly it would hurt Keanu and Kia if he ever left. For the longest time, they were all they had left. To seperate... well, he could only thank the heavens that it would never come to that.
His own request foremost on his mind, he watched Jack's reaction. He was so intent on the alpha that Liar's outburst made him jump a bit. He turned wide brown eyes to her, for a moment not comprehending her anger. Then it dawned on him, and he watched Jack and Calypso depart to make their decisions.
It wasn't until they were gone that he spoke. Turning, he looked at Liar, and while he lowered his tail a bit, there was a quiet detirmination in his eyes that told of refusal to compromise. "That is exactly where I will be, protecting my family and the ones that I love." His eyes turned pleading. "Please understand, Liar! There is no way that I could choose another rank! There is no chance that I would be happy staying behind, letting those I care about fight for me while I do nothing to help." Though he understood that she merely feared for his safety, it hurt him that she did not support him in this. He truly hoped that she would accept it... it was done now, and if Jack decided to appoint him, he could not refuse. He would not refuse.
Khalon's eyes traveled over her features, trying to read her reaction, praying that she would understand. What sort of a wolf would he be if he did not do what nature called out for him to do?
Kia shifted her paws nervously while Jack and Calypso walked into their den to discuss. Keanu just looked at her, shaking his head. "You know that you are going to get the position, right? No one in their right mind would deny you something that had the possibility of using up some of that energy!"
Kia just shook her head, the butterflies in her stomach refusing to go away. "I'm still nervous, though! Aren't you! I mean, at least I have a chance of getting what I want! Why didn't you request a rank?"
Keanu didn't answer, but turned to look at Kal. It seemed that Liar and he were having a serious talk, and Keanu quickly looked away, not wanting to seem like he was eavesdropping. After a while, he looked back at his sister, but she was already once again gazing in the direction of the Alphen den. He sighed. Why hadn't he chosen a rank? Because he had done nothing as of yet to earn one.

Ooc- Hey Fossy, I'm having some Jack issues so this is going to be..not good. Jack nodded to his mate and puzzled over the words she spoke. "Yes, I think you are quite right about everyone my love." Then pausing again he continued. "Red, I think, we can allow him to assume the rank of guardian. That is a good rank. As for Yana..." He thought over it and continued. "A scout, a good starting position in a pack. And dealing with Khal it is his decision to make what rank he chooses and not Liars, though I understand her concern everyone has their own calling." He looked at Calypso and smiled. "Would you like to deliver the verdict my love? Or do you wish to rest?" He looked lovingly at her and wondered at the marevelous creatures stirring in her womb.

Calypso nodded to Jack's words. Red would make a good guardian as he was always looking out for them anyway, and Jack's decisions for Yana and Khal were wise too. She looked at Jack and was so proud of him. Then her body set a yawn upon her mug. She was tired but these things needed to come first. She shot Jack a grin, stretched and then stood. Her lithe form not as graceful standing up as it had been with the addition of pups to her belly. But in the same breath that she felt a bit insecure of her looks and how Jack felt about them she was thrilled for the fact there was life stirring within her. "I am tired love, but I do beleive we should get this all settled and then we can relax." She walked over and nuzzled his face, then she kissed it softly. "I can tell them their ranks and I hope we made good choices."
She turned and walked back to the gathering, barking twice sharply for attention. She pauses knowing Jack would be by her side and she gave him a loving glance. "All right everyone, Jack and I have come to some decisions." She took a breath and looked at the pack that lay before her...her pack. Her mother would have been proud...especially of Jack. "Red, you have been faithful in service to us for a long while and we believe as you have watched over us this long, you should continue to do so. So we bestow upon you the rank of Guardian. " She beamed Red a smile and hoped he would be happy, then she turned to Liar. "Liar, you have proven yourself a loyal member to the pack and with this we put our trust in you. You shall be our Healer and we place our lives in your hands. It will be a long road of learning but you are able. Also you will have the shared rank of pupsitter...since we all know we are going to need it soon." She gave her daughter a loving smile and a wag of her ebony plume. Then she turned to the three siblings her blue eyes glowing, she was so glad they returned. "Kia, you are a young wolfess full of life and energy and with this rank you will help sustain life and energy here in the pack. We bestow upon you the rank of Hunter. I know you will do well as I once did when I held the title." Calypso added the last part to tie the pack closer to herself and Jack. Sometimes the formalities seemed like they took forever but they were essential in binding the pack. She wagged her tail softly and turned to Keanu. "Keanu, my young bru. You are a very capable wolf . You have an excellent head on your shoulders. For now we will bestow the rank of Hunter upon you until a more certain path becomes evident. You will also share the rank of Pupsitter with Liar. And remember all of you that Pupsitting isn't the least of tasks, it is a rank that protects our future." She smiled and hoped Keanu would see this rank as a stepping stone until he figured out what he wanted to do in life. "Khalon, you are a great asset to this pack. Your strength will serve you well and you have a good head on your shoulders. We bestow upon you the rank of Guardian and know that you will always be there to protect all of us. " Calypso's eyes flicked to Liar for a moment and then rested back upon Khal. She hoped Liar would understand. And then she turned to Yana. "Yana, you are the newest member to our family and have told us of skills you posess. Right now Jack and I have agreed that you shall have the rank of Scout. You shall be the warning before the storm if a storm is on the way." She smiled at him and hoped the rank would soothe the bru for now. She still didn't completly trust Yana yet. "For those of us whom aren't here today." her thoughts went to Tristan, Lita, Storm and Arrow. "We shall deal with ranks as they come." She gave the area one last sweep with her azule eyes. "Thank you all and remember a wolf is the pack and a pack is the wolf. We depend on all of you." With that she turned back to Jack and said softly. "Well, how was that?" And smiled.
Her ears flicked forward as she remembered Lennox. "Jack, we have to attend Lennox now. He has word on Tristan and says he is family. I don't know if we should trust him with the whole story but I have a feeling he is trustworthy. He reminds me alot of our Tristan. " Calypso wished the bru would come home. He was a good wolf and a great asset to their pack. She sighed a weary sigh. Her gaze looked over to Lennox and she looked back at Jack. "Will you lead the way my love?" and smiled softly. Pregnancy sure takes it out of you. OOC: No worries Silent....You will get Jack back in gear!

| Her eyes were locked onto Khalon. She wanted to scream and yell and curse at him for wanting to go into this rank. He would leave her if the pack came, and as much as she wanted to leave him before she didn't want the same in return. She was being selfish, and as her name rang from the right of her she turned to see herself being adressed by Calypso. She smiled lightly in her direction though her mind still was reeling about Kal's requests. When Liar finished listening to her mother speak she turned to Khalon with a soft smile. "Well...no turning back now" she sighed and resolved to accept the new changes. "I see where you're coming from. And the ones who love you back should be thankful, but don't forget their scared of your...choice. But seeing how you may have a chance to get all banged up and stuff. I'll get to fix you back up" she smiled and nudged him softly. The newly ranked femme turned towards Kia and Keanu with a smile on her face. "Congrats...I think" she looked at Keanu when she said this. "It may not be something big and bad, but hey! It'll be fun! We get to play with fuzz balls that think they can tell US what to do" she smirked and gave a few swishes of her tail behind her. "But I think you would have made a good Healer too. Wouldn't that be weird, if you got the same ranks as me! One down, one to go!" she smirked and looked at Kia. "And you!" she squealed with slight excitment to raise the energy her friend had gotten what she wanted. "Congrats! Bet you're just itching to go on a hunt again. I think you maybe more wolf then the rest of us wolves" she gave her friend a wide smile and then looked back at Khalon. "Guess we're all set. Though I get to learn my craft some more...though I've gotten some under my belt" she turned away slightly and looked at Calypso and Jack. "Excuse me" she stepped forward from the trio, giving them their own time since she had hoarded Khalon so much and walked towards her two parents. "Well well." she smiled and nuzzled her mother and father with much affection. "Good Job Mom, you didn't even look slightly nervous." she winked at her and then caught sight of her belly. "So how long we got. I mean, sure their worms at first, given a few weeks and I think Keanu and I will have a little bit of fun chasing your offspring around this place. Oh dear..." she tilted her head to look off towards the sky. A worried look on her face. "I can see it now...we'll be like those humans hearding the sheep, only we're wolves hearding our own alpha's pups... the horror" she looked at Calypso and winked. | |

| Red looked up as he heard a familiar voice barking. Clearly, a decision was already made. He was attentive as he heard his name followed by guardian. He grinned, as he never thought that he would be placed in such a position. It was much appreciated, and he displayed as much by wagging his tail lightly. He paid attention to the other ranks as well, and noticed that the tension between the alphas and Liar was quickly vanishing- a good thing. He looked around at the others, having trust that these wolves have been placed with appropriate ranks. His build would allow him to endure, and he wasn't a rookie at fighting, either. Still, he didn't love to fighting, but perhaps that was a good thing. If he was against it, he wouldn't pick any pointless fights or become as blood thirsty as he'd seen some wolves become. Yana looked at each wolf as each rank was handed out. He didn't know much of the other wolves, since the others had been elsewhere, and, apart from the alphas, he only got to know Red a bit. Guardian was a curious rank for the maned wolf, but if it came to a fight, it appeared as if intruding wolves would probably mistake him for a fox and would underestimate him. Although the alphas might not have thought of that when forming the ranks. No matter, since it worked out. He tilted his head upon hearing his rank. A scout sounded good to him and didn't blame Jack or Calypso. He wouldn't trust a recently arrived wolf either. At least he could wander the pack land, which is something he wouldn't comaplin about. He nodded, showing that this rank worked for him.

As he looked into Liar's eyes, Kal felt an inward blow at the expression he caught. She was deeply unhappy, that much was obvious, and it pained him more than she could know that he had caused this. He had to stand firm, though, and eventually she would see. He hoped with all his might that time would show this.
Calypso emerged from the den, and Khalon looked at her, his enthusiasm somewhat tempered with his troubled thoughts. He had to smile, however, when he saw the happiness coming from his packmates, for each and every one got their requested rank. Despite his inner turmoil, when he heard Calypso address Liar, pride bloomed within him, and he knew that it showed. He was so happy for her that she had gotten such an esteemed rank! Healers were, in his mind, more skilled than even the most dutiful warrior. How they remembered everything he did not know. Then again, he had never really been a truly thoughtful wolf. He left that to his brother. His approach was to act, and if it was wrong, to suffer the repercussions. This forced a grin as memories came up. More than a few times he had found himself doing the latter.
Kia squealed lightly with delight, then instantly clamped her maw shut. "Sorry," she said, an apologetic grin on her face. Still, her eyes shone with supressed excitement, and she had to sit down, for her paws were itching to move. She wanted to run, to chase and get started right away. It just added to her excitement that Calypso too had held her position. She looked up to the she-wolf immensely and had ever since puphood, that first day when she and her brothers had wandered into the camp, so lost yet so sure of their own independence. They weren't wrong in that they could survive all alone, but Jack and Calypso had provided that thing they had always been missing. How could she not admire them?
Keanu looked over at his sister, grinning at her exuberance. He could tell that, thankfully, she was restraining herself, and he feared for any fleet-footed prey that was in the area at the moment. When this meeting ended, there would be no holding her back. His own insides, though, were twisting with anxiety and regret. Why hadn't he just named a rank? It wasn't that hard! Well, then again...
He looked up in surprise, however, when Calypso named her choices for him. Hunter he understood, but Pupsitter? While random, it was not entirely unwelcome, and he smiled gratefully, ducking his head in Calypso's direction. "Thank you." Her praise warmed him some, and the knowledge that his path might change in the future was brightening as well. If this was not his forte, then another could be tried. Besides, he would be working alongside his sister and, eventually, his good friend. He smiled as Kia bumped his side.
"Looks like it's you and me again! Though, judging from our last attempt, I think we need some practice." He ducked his head in embarassment as he laughed, then bumped her back. He was about to open his mouth in protest, but Calypso was continuing, and Kal was next.
Golden eyes both expectant and worried, torn, he stood stock still. Every nerve was buzzing as he waited for her say. What would happen, either way? Fate would decide. Luckily, the Alphaess did not let him stand in anticipation for long. He had recieved the rank of Guardian. He did not even look at Calypso as he responded, instead his eyes were on Liar. "Thank you." His golden gems assessed her reaction, It was not as he had thought, and he felt his muscles relax as she spoke to him. He smiled gently at her. "There is no one else I would trust. And I won't forget. Besides, I know that you won't let me." He lowered his head, touching her cheek with his muzzle in a light brush before turning to accept enthusiastic congratulations.
"I have to say, that was a rather obvious choice, but still!" Kia pressed against him, and he grinned, returning the embrace affectionately.
Keanu smiled at Liar in his normal manner, shy as always. "Thanks Liar. Believe me, big, bad, and me do not even belong in the same vicinity!" He was just relieved that he would not be forced to fight. Oh, he could do it, but it was not something that he enjoyed in the least. "Healer? Hmm, maybe... but I don't know anything about that sort of thing." He flicked his tail dismissively. "You will do a much better job than I ever could, and I would probably get in your way." He turned to Calypso. As far as the pups went, well... he wasn't sure. He had never been good around little ones, but then again, one could always learn.
"I know!" Kia left Kal and greeted Liar enthusiastically with a returned squeal. "and what about you! Healer, that is amazing!" She bounced a bit on her paws. "I can't wait to get out there and get my blood singing again!"
Kal's eyes followed Liar as she returned to her parents, greeting them. Keanu followed his gaze and chuckled. "You've got it bad, don't you?"
"You have no idea, brother. No idea."
Kal sat down, and Kia leaned into him, her head under his. It was their normal posture, even since puphood, for he was always the largest of the three. "You know, we don't mind. If you were wondering, that is. It's okay that you aren't around as much." She raised her eyes, but all she could see was his nose tip. "But if you ever leave us, I'll hunt you down, and believe me, you don't want that!" Kal just laughed.
"Oh, don't worry. I'm not going anywhere." Keanu nodded in response, looking off into the distance. It wouln't be the same, that much was plain. It wouldn't be bad, though, either. Family wasn't something that could be reduced. It could easily grow, however. His mossy green orbs traveled over to where Liar was standing.

She looked upon her pack and heard their thank yous she smiled. She overheard Liar's comments to Keanu about them having the same ranks. The wheels in Calypso's minde whirled. That wouldn't be such a bad idea having Keanu trained in the healing arts also. She would definately talk to Jack about it.
Calypso's obsidian auds flicked forward at Liar's approach and a great smile bloomed across her face at her daughter's words. She chuckled heartily and nudged Liar's shoulder. "Yes, you will be hearding them around like sheep while your father and I go off and play!" She her laughter tinkled the air once more. She looked at Jack lovingly and then her eyes grew wide and she smiled. "Jack...Liar...quickly...feel!" she exclaimed. And positioned her body between them so they could each feel her belly. The sensation was amazing. She could feel the life stirring within her and now it seemed that they wanted to reach out to their father and sister. She smiled gently and she could feel a small unknown body part pushing to the outside and rolling itself along the contours of her belly. "I won't be too long now." she said softly her voice full of love. She hoped both Jack and Liar would catch the movement. It certainly thrilled Calypso herself and she wanted them to share in it. Her heart swelled with feeling. It was so good to have her family here...then she wondered where Arista and Taruri were. She hadn't seen either of them in so long and her heart grew a little sad. She hoped they were alright.

| Lennox raised his head from the deer carcass. He had not taken much, just enough to hold him over until he could figure where his next meal would come from. He took quick notice that Calypso and Jack were all too busy with the pack, so he took on a respectful but leisurely pace in his actions. A stretch, a yawn, and the cleaning of his maw on the grass, and he found himself fully alert and presentable for the alphens. Some excitement reached him from where everyone had gathered to receive their titles. It occurred to him that he had none. Perhaps he would work his way into one if they let him stay. He moved himself away from the food, keeping a good distance away from the others to make sure he didn't look like a snoop. Ranking ended, and Lennox moved slightly closer. The cliques congregated, and he was about to reapproach when Calypso called her family to her side. Her smile explained all to him, and he was familiar with the ecstasy that came with feeling future offspring move within. He had seen it in his old home many a time. His frame was two wolves' lengths away, his expression one of gentle, slightly enthused patience. He wanted to part his maw to speak, but instead stood in a submissive, waiting posture and decided to hold his congratulations until the formalities had passed. | |

Smiling gently at Calypso he rose to his pads and followed silently behind her. How he needed a vacation. Well, with the pups on the way there will be no vacation for some time...he mused to himself. He watched as she took command and gave out ranks. He stood beside her, exuding pride in his mate. He could not have picked a better femme if he ever tried. He looked from once face to the next to gauge their reactions. When she was finished he looked at her lovingly and murmed softly. "It was lovely m'dear." He licked her on the muzzle and turned back to the wolves. Eyes fell on Liar, his lovely grown up daughter and he smiled warmly at her. He chuckled at her comment and then added. "It won't be my old bones running after them if you keep up that nonsense talk about humans." He teased her. Looking past her he could see that everyone seemed content with their ranks and nodded to himself pleased. This was going to be a good start to a new stronger pack. At Calypso exclamation Jack's face turned alarmed at first but she merely wanted to show them the movements of the pups. Quickly he pressed his face to her belly and felt the small stretching limbs of his children...their children. "O Calypso..." He murmed softly. Then he held himself there a moment longer and only moved to nuzzle her neck. "I can only imagine the beautiful children you shall soon yield."
Attention was stolen away by the hessian whom was related to Tristan was watching them. For a moment Jack felt the defensive urge take him again but haulted it seeing the bru's pose. He was just a friendly wolf, no danger to his mate or pups. "Lo, bru. I am sure you found the deer sustaining?" |

| Calypso
Overwhelming joy was written all over Calypso as Jack nuzzled her neck. His words made her blush. She gave Liar a look of love and a soft laugh parted her maw. Although Calypso was dubbed mother, she had never carried nor given birth to whelps of her own flesh. So this was all a new experience for her and she couldn't help but get excited when she felt the movement that Jack would be able to feel. Her ebony plume swayed gently and her eyes shone like sapphires. Pregnancy although changing her shape was very becoming for Calypso. She leaned over and kissed Jack's maw. "I love you Jack." she whispered.
Then Calypso noted that Jack's attention was stolen and her gaze followed Jacks to the hessian who had requested their knowledge earlier. She felt the tension rise in Jack and she touched his ear with her nose, hoping to comfort him. She knew he would become more and more protective the further she progressed, he had been this way when she was in season..only more so. She smiled gently and said nothing as Jack's lyrics greeted the gentleman. She hoped he would be able to enlighten them on Tristan. She wished he would return home. He was so reliable and an excellent guardian. He had always done his best. She reclined on her haunches to relax and sighed softly, content to the core.

| OOC: Don't have much for Lennox, I'll get more up when we get our little conversation going. The pepper bru stepped forward at Jack's greeting and Calypso's benevolent stare. His submissive position remained on display for them. He did not want to evoke any more tension in the alphen. He gave a nod to the question posed. "Yes, sir. The deer was sufficient. I thank you both for your hospitality. However," His military-like voice was clipped but low. "I believe you are both aware of a matter we should attend to." He kept his line of sight indirectly on the both of them, being serious but not dominant. "I leave it up to you whether we discuss it here or more in private." | |

Calypso's gentle touch was truly not needed for he mastered his protective instincts and even managed a polite smile towards the hessian who wisely enough kept his submissive stance. Jack felt a pang of guilt. He was not usually such a tyrant but with his mate pregnant, well all bru's knew that it certainly switched the game up a bit. Nodding at Lennox he turned and looked at Calypso. "I shall take this one my love, why don't you go rest?" Then he leaned forward and licked her muzzle. "No need to worry." He commented knowing that due to his previous reaction she probably would anyways. Stepping forward he paused and clearing his through to get Khal's attention. "Khalon." He stated simply and flicked his orbs back to Calypso. A simple directive to keep an eye on his mate. Despite the fact that Khal was a male he was a young male and so obviously bound to Liar Smirking at Lennox he stepped past him. "Shall we?" Then he walked away from everyone, intending to take him on a nice cliff walk by the sea. While they walked he waited to see what he would say.

| Lennox perked up just a bit when Jack addressed him. He stood respectfully, but poised as though he was awaiting some kind of judgement. The alphen prompted their leave, and he gave a brief departing nod to Calypso before turning to go. Once they were a bit away from the others, he parted his maw to speak. "I worry, sir, about the condition of Tristan. The last I saw him, he was not himself. He harbors too much angst and hatred." His eyes moved periodically between Jack's face and the ground. His tone was slightly less formal now. "He... I don't think he will be returning any time soon. There's a darkness in him now... one I have only seen in his brother and mine. And if he turns to that path, then I fear for his safety. He used to be a great man. But now..." As they walked, he caught a scent. Quite old, but it was that of whom he spoke. It made him sigh with grief. "His mind is going sir." He paused for a moment before muttering, "Forgive me. I speak too much." "Well well well, Lennox. Isn't that the way we want him?" The dark bru chuckled when Lennox flinched and gasped. "Yes, I know. I'm quite a shock aren't I? My brother was going to turn sooner or later and you knew it. I just figured it out sooner than he did. It seems like you're the last of us to be a good guy, hmm?" The black and brown hessian gave a sarcastic and cynical look to Jack. It was amazing that he got here without being noticed. The stench of evil hung on him like a cloak. "Matthew Casian, my liege. Brother to Tristan... if you didn't figure it out by now. Allow me to tackle your issue for you. Your knight in shining armor isn't who he used to be. He's realizing far too late that chivalry and manners are the last thing a wolf needs to worry about nowadays. It took him quite a while to quit being so stupid." His jade gaze snapped to Lennox when he coaxed a snarl out of him. He just laughed and sat back on his haunches, just to let Jack know that his position of authority meant nothing to him. "Just thought I'd let you know since Lennox can't seem to spit it out without the melodramatics."OOC: Dun dun dunnnn! | |

Ears tipped forward as she accepted his kiss and his words. He was right of course. She needed some rest. "Yes, my love." she replied not feeling like arguing, she knew without her presence he would be more relaxed around Lennox. Leaning over she licked his maw and before turning away she spoke to Lennox. "It was a pleasure Lennox." Her tone was cordial and formal and she tipped her dial and began to pad away slowly. An obsidan aud flicked back as she caught Jack's voice behind her calling to Khalon and she wondered what Jack wanted him for. Calypso was too tired at the moment to put two and two together.
Slowly she made her way to the dens and sat in front of the one she and Jack shared. Yawning softly she decide to stretch out, an awkward thing now with her rounding belly. With a heavy sigh she lay there, to her mind looking much like a beached whale. The sun shone and felt good on her ebony hide. She lay there eye's half lidded for a moment until a sharp jab on the inside prodded them open. "Be still and let your mother get some rest." she said softly with a slight laugh. If one looked hard enough they could see the whelps pushing to the outside of their mother. A mound here, an appendage there. Busy little bees they were.
Calypso shifted postiion and her blue eyes searched the densite. She sighed heavily and couldn't help but smile. She would cherish every moment of this pregnancy, the good and the bad. Looking for anyone to talk to since the little devils inside insisted on running her womb.

Jack relaxed himself a bit further so that he would not intimidate the brujo anymore. There was no need to prove dominance here. Nodding when he spoke about Tristan, Jack pictured the steadfast hessian in his mind. It was a sad thing that Tristan had fallen into such ruin and Jack wished that he could find and help him out. "No Lennox, thank you for bringing us this news. Tristan was a valued member of our pack and when he left he was sorely missed." He let that thought trail off but then there was as presence a another. Dial snapped to attention at the gasp of Lennox and his brown eyes landed on a stranger. He gathered that Lennox and this bru knew each other and was confirmed when he spoke of Tristan as his brother. How could this wolf who was obviously seething darkness be related to Tristan? Jack did not care for the mockery in his tone and his muscles twitched aching to leap forward and rake a mitt across his face. When he reclined it was a bold move but it also left him in a position of vulnerability. Fangs peeked out and stepping in front of Lennox as if he was his own a growl rumbled though him. An alpha's instinct to dominate was just as strong as to protect those weaker than him. "I know not what your purpose here is but if your desire to cause trouble in my pack then I shall remove you." He did not bother with any theatrics that some leaders did, he knew that this hessian would be unimpressed anyways.

| Jack's assumption about Matthew's being unimpressed were absolutely correct. In a bold move of defiance, he leaned forward to practically touch his nose to the alphen's, the rumble of a horrid growl turning itself in his chest. What a joke. "Remove me, eh Jack? Unlikely. You put about as much fear into me as would a pup spitting the same words." His grin exuded a bad attitude, challenging Jack to make a move. He knew whoever made the first move was technically the antagonist, and it was much too fun to be passive aggressive. "And what if I've come to replace my brother? You would not deny a homeless rogue a home," He shot a glance to Lennox, the ghost of a malicious smile playing on his lips. "Would you?" "That's my job," Lennox interjected from behind Jack, "Take your Fenris forsaken hide elsewhere, Matthew." "You keep your mouth shut, stupid cur. I refuse to justify you with a proper answer. If I were you, I would not be so quick to try and prove myself from behind a brute like..." Matthew gave the alphen a look of contempt, up and down, while keeping his close proximity. "This." Disgust was written on his face. "Neutrals. The most worthless kind. You just can't seem to make up your mind." He spat at Jack's feet, and his mood seemed to change in an instant, voice dripping arsenic and honey. "Ahem. Forgive me. I speak my thoughts too freely. Now, you were going to... remove me?" Something of a sweet smile took up his features now, and he knew it would make Jack mad as hell. | |

Yet another newcomer approached, and Khalon tensed as he saw Jack's reaction. Obviously the alpha was protective, which was perfectly understandable. As Calypso's time grew nearer, even Kal would have to watch his step around her anxious mate. Still, they couldn't have a fight right off. Luckily, hwoever, Jack was a master to his nature, and no such thing occurred. Relaxing slightly, he watched the exchange, eyes drifting now and again to Liar. It was a reflex, his mind subconsciously noting her before once again returning to the conversation on hand.
It seemed that Jack had the same reaction to Calypso, for he seemed to note that she was tiring. As he dismissed her, however, Kal heard his name, and instantly realized what his alpha wanted of him. With a slight nod, he stood, following Calypso and settling a ways away from her, eyes still on the gathering, but ears pricked, alert.
He was close enough to see what was going on, and another bru had joined the party. Kal's ears flicked in annoyance.... a patrol was obviously needed. Instantly Khalon saw Jack's hackles rise, and he itched to jump to his feet and go to his side. It was an action that he could not preform at the moment, however, and he forced himself to remain, knowing that he couldn't leave Calypso unattended. She and her future pups were too important for that, and Jack would never forgive him if he left his post and something went wrong. For that matter, he would never forgive himself, and Liar... he did not even want to think of it. Instead he sighed, glaring angrily at the obviously depraved hessian. Jack was more than capable of taking care of things himself, anyway.
Kal's auds tipped back as he heard Calypso's murmerings, and his glowering expression slowly turned into a smile. She would make an exceptional mother, he knew it. After all, she was already the mother figure of almost all of the wolven in the pack. Liar and her two adoptive siblings, himself and his kin.... finally she would have her own blood to nurture. It was a good time, this, and there was no need to ruin it with malice. Hopefully Jack would send the bru away and be done with it.

He was never much for these show of words and even now he desired to smack the hessian in his face with his claws raking down his flesh. Just because they were neutral did not mean there was no bloodlust in them. They merely wished to be average but of course this brute knew that and was just trying to goad him on. "Better a pup than a paralyzed doe." He shot back with the same cool and even voice. So tempted his was to sink his teeth into this bastards muzzle. Jack's muscles twitched with anticipation of taking this hessian down. This was his territory and he wouldn't have worthless scum in it. Ear flicked at the exchange between Matthew and Lennox. A low rumble in his chest, it was one thing to take a shot at him but another at his pack...well his future pack. He did not even flinch when the brute spat at him. His eyes were hard and his lip twitched. Of course he was getting mad as hell. "Us neutrals are better than some flea bitten rouge who can not find a pack for their worthless hide." Wolves were social creatures and were designed to live in packs for the most part. To not be able to have a pack was sort of a shame. Though he imagined that some preferred it. "As for being removed." Now his lyrics dripped with a cold venom. "Well, I suppose that you will escort yourself out. No need to be in the presence of us worthless nuetrals, lest you be mistaken for one of us." An old lilt crept into his tone at his last words and his hues shone with some unrecognizable emotion, though it was hardly friendly. Jack was no push over and he was certainly not a small brujo. Right now though he did not need the stress of a fight to put a rouge in his place.
