Rodion listened with fully tilted ears to Zelda's explanation. Old, was she? It made him chuckle. But he continued to listen, knowing there was more to come than harmless banter. So, Jabbar was down their neck... He would make sure to have a talk with Damean at the first opportunity. His friend felt that she had to take responsibility for her pack. He shook his head, a calm, warm smile pulling over his black lips. "Oh Zelda. You want so much to walk some path expected of you. I can tell you've dealt with far too much already. And I hate to disappoint you, but no matter which way you would have it, I don't think you fully understand my reasons for coming your way." He turned his gaze from the stars to her familiar face and looked at her with meaning. She was sure to catch his drift. As far as he was aware, she wasn't known for lacking good sense. His thorns were ready for her response, but something caught his attention. A desperate cry reached them. A horrid feeling squelched his stomach, sent his heart racing. His eyes connected with Zelda's as he stood, pinning his ears back in preparation for flight. Worry, desperation, swam in his pupils' obsidian depths. Beneath his breath one thing was uttered. "Cinder..."

Rodion pivoted on one back paw, headed immediately toward the echo of the fae's cry. A fear worked its way through the chambers in his heart. Something was horribly wrong. So it turned out Zelda's tour had come in handy. The terrawas still fresh in his mind. The call was distant, far back in the woods. In minutes time he was dashing for the tree line. "Zelda, we can't lose time!" He called briefly behind him. He hoped she had followed. She had to. No doubt Link would be coming. He entered the dense forest. He would have to slow down to find them. He trusted his instincts, but he had only been so far in here before. But soon he got lucky. Cinder's heavy scent latched inside his nares and he was back on the trail. He wouldn't look back, wouldn't check to see if anyone trailed. He kept his head up, lithe paws pushing him at full gallop. The forms were small in front of him. The scent of blood hit him next, then other wolves. Exodus... and another.

Rodion stopped just short of Cinder, nuzzling her chin once. He made no hesitation in licking the blood from her cheek. "Cinder, I'm here. It's alright. Zelda's coming... I think. I have no doubt that Link is coming as well." His eyes still swam with worry. Her sobs made his heart ache. It was things like this that made his habit of getting personal quickly a welcome trait. Immediately he knew what had happened. It was all he could do to push back an exhausted-sounding sigh. He had no time for brutes like this. He stood close, eyeing Exodus and the bru. They had to be related. And the aura he was getting from the other bru was far from friendly. He had an ill-favored look, and bloody or not was the antagonist in his eyes. Exodus was too well-meaning in the past not to be trusted. "Exodus, what's the meaning of this?" Without realizing it, he had taken a dominant stance on the whole situation. His auds were pressed forward as far as they would go, and his tassel stood straight up, ready to bristle. Despite his anger over the situation, he was the essence calm from the outside. No... anger wasn't the right word. Absolute, white-hot, seething rage was more appropriate. Hig gaze, now hardened, turned to Legend. His voice was cold. Calm and unwavering, but cold. "And you. Who are you, stranger?"

Cinder

She felt his form slam into her, she stumbled once more. "Legend, No...Please...no" she choked out before his talons ripped into the side of her face. Crimson spilled from the wound and hate for Legend burst inside her. She looked at him with eyes blazing and lashed for his face with her ivories hoping to scar him, take something from him before he took something so precious from her. She heard his growl and his weight on her back, she struggled to get away and felt his teeth pierce deeply into the back of her neck. "NO!!! NO!!! You Ba.stard! Get off of MEEEEeee! she screamed and fought even more. She felt him pierce her and the pain. "No...no ....Please Fenris...No.." she sobbed. Legend was so much bigger than she and she didn't know how to fight him. She pulled away more ripping her own flesh in attempt to get away. She closed down inside as she felt his release, a searing heat that burned and stung her wounds. HATE...that is what she felt. Overwhelming hate. She collapsed under his push, her trembling bodice limp but her silver eyes filled with hate. She wanted to kill him, she wanted to sink her daggers into his throat and feel the life drain out of him. Her body was in shock, it couldn't move even though her mind willed it to when he kissed her cheek and then took her throat in his jaws. She felt the pressure and for a second almost welcomed it. How could Link love her now? But then the hate burned and she rasped out through her closing throat. "You will die for this."

Her vision was fading when she thought she heard a voice and felt Legend's teeth torn from her throat. She was bleeding but it wasn't a mortal wound. She gasped and heard a familiar voice ordering her to Link. Oh Fenris...Link. Cinder had tears appear in her eyes and she sobbed. She struggled to stand and staggered a few paces before stumbling again. She sobbed and looked back to Exodus and wanted to help her she heard the howl but it was cut off by Legend's teeth. She looked around for Link...oh Link..her heart cried. She did the only thing she could think to do she tipped her maw and howled. HELP...HURRY....HURRY...COME....her soprano voice sang. It strained her throat which was on fire from the wounds but she had to. She couldn't help Exodus physically, especially not now. She listened to the banter between the siblings and then she felt her vision fading into darkness. Her traumatized body was going into shock and she was feeling faint. Tears came to her eyes and she whispered over and over between sobs. "Link....I'm so sorry...oh Link. She felt he would never be able to love her now..she was tainted.

Legend growled and slammed into Cinder. "Stop it, oh no, stop. I don't want to. Liiiiink heeelllppppp" he growled and smacked her on the face with his paw. "Shut up" he growled and ran up behind her. "You should have been the coward and stayed with your lover boy and my pathetic sister" He growled and lifted himself up behind her. It didn't take long, he bit onto the back of her neck and pulled hard. He would let her know why the darkness wasn't a place for her. "All done. See...it wasn't that bad was it?" He licked the back of her neck, licking up her own blood. "You liked that didn't you. Better then what you would get from him."

Legend got down and circled her. "You look pathetic" He growled and pushed her down. "Now, it's all a matter of killing you and taking you to a secluded place to bury you." He growled and stepped over her. "Wouldn't that be nice...? Of course, all because I love you. And this is all that love is" He brought his lips down and kissed her cheek, then open his maw around her neck. "Bye bye Cinder" He closed down, getting tighter and tighter...

Exodus had walked ahead of Link. Her worry grew more into sickness as she headed in the same direction as Cinder went but didn't spy the two. They had to talk before leaving, they wouldn't have left in a matter of moments. She sniffed around, her tail was high, her ears were up. There was evidence of a struggle but she didn't know where it went. Then came the sudden wave of fear. It was a strong fear and then guilt. She growled and lifted herself up and sprinted into the woods. "LINK! HURRY!" She ran, the scar on her body tore and it ached with pain. "He's going to ra=" she choked on the words as she sprinted faster and faster.

She should have broken a leg with the sudden burst from the trees. The smell was evident before she even saw Legend standing over Cinder. Tears burst instantly from her eyes. "No!" her voice was broken. Legend loosened his grip on Cinder and Exodus ran forward. Her head bent down and she smashed into her brother. "Cinder if you value your life get up and go to Link! He's coming!" Exodus yelped as Legend re-cut open part of her scar. Snarls and yelps rang out from the two wolves.

They were like the beasts of darkness. Exodus felt a new power surge through her body, she felt each muscle flex with each movement, she was lightning and he was thunder, both were in a race to finish eachother off. She hated him. She wanted him dead. He caught her shoulder and she growled with the slight rip of flesh, he kicked it next and Exodus yelped loudly limping to the side. "Fool" She looked up, her eyes were ablaze and she flung herself at Legend. She was ontop of him, her paws finding any surface to scratch if it were him or the ground. She hated him. She felt his paws come under her belly and kick and she flew to the side. Her head came up with the little time and howled loudly. It would have been a strong brave song for the pack to come, but it was cut off when Legend grabbed her throat and pulled her down to the ground. Her eyes found his and he looked like the devil himself.

For the first time, she feared her life. But she knew the pack would come, and they could chase him off. Legend wouldn't fight more wolves. Her head dropped down and she relaxed. She knew this would puzzle her brother, but as of now, she was exhausted. Her eyes wandered towards Cinder and she smiled at her. Guilt was all over her body but she was glad the fem wasn't dead. "Come on Legend... leave now before they kill you" She looked up and his blood dripped on her face. She had gotten him good, but his surge of anger was enough to keep him going and not fail like her. "Dad will kill you" she laughed and laid her head back down, she watched as his blood mixed with hers in a pool. "Hopefully they do first" He wasn't saying anything. She looked up and smiled. He was in pain. "Got you..." Her body shook as she stood and pushed him away from her. "Get away from Cinder you fool" She stood where Cinder had lay, she didn't notice if she had gotten up and moved yet or not. Time seemed to be going slow. She wanted a pack member to hurry, she couldn't face Legend anymore. He'd kill her...

One who withholds wisdom...

Zelda was comforted by Rodion's soft nudges and felt herself truly in place with a friend at her side. It was a nice feeling...this friendship. Different from Link and different from everyone else. Sure she was friends with everyone in the pack but never had she really established a true friendship. She smiled at his words of the stars and her gaze went to the heavens. Though she watched the skies she peered at him through the corner of her eye when he began to speak. She heard a touch of sadness enter his voice but he did not finish his sentence.

Something happened to his home...or something within his pack. That was why he was here, she had already surmised as much but she would not inquire any further. Her heart went out to him and she wanted to help ease his pain but she kept her mouth closed.

He redirected the conversation towards her and a smile actually grazed on her muzzle about the difficult parts. Laughing her sweet high musical laugh. "If I were to leave out the difficult parts there would be little to tell my friend." Still laughing she continued. "I have been her for many years now, this was our next and final stop after we left your pack actually. O Fenrir I was so young then..." She mused silently in her mind. "We came here and this land has passed by many rulers and many wolves have resided here. Link and I are the ones who have been around the longest. Our last alphess...Moon, she was shot by humans. She was so young..." She had known Moon sine she was a pup and now it saddened her to have outlive the winsome fem. "Since then I have held control. And all the times between the rulers as well. My offical rank for the most part has always been the alpha's advisor." She snorted. "It's no use advising myself. Especially of late when I have no been able to make a right choice anywhere it seems." Gesturing towards northeast "And with Jabbar breathing down our necks it is quite strenuous enough without the problems of all the other packs." A soft smile and she looked down at the ground. "I do not mean to complain. I bear the burden for my pack, I would have it no other way."

"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..."

Cinder

She sidestepped when Legend appeared so close and she looked nervously around. Where was Exodus? "I didn't hear Akiko's call Legend but we will leave soon, I don't want to upset her." Fear struck through to her very core when he then uttered the words "You smell nice, Shall we?" Her silver eyes grew wide and she pulled away from his touch, it made her feel dirty and tainted. She was about to say "No" when he shoved her roughly, harder and harder into the trees. She stumbled then screamed "No Legend...NO. I don't want to! NOOO!" she stumbled and cried out "Link! HELP!!!...NO! Leave me alone! " She didn't want to dance with him or anything else for that matter. This couldn't be happening. Fenris, help me! she prayed silently. Her perfume was a mingled scent of sweetness and fear. She regained her footing and looked for an out. There wasn't one really but she had to try, she couldn't let this happen...what would Link think. She should have known better than to come alone...STUPID STUPID SHE WOLF. Darting to Legend's right she hoped her speed was good enough but his proximity was so close she didn't know if she could make it. "Liiiiiiiiinnnnkkkk!" she screamed terror evident in her voice as she heard Legend's growl echo in her ashen ears. This wasn't how it was supposed to be.

Exodus watched as Cinder left the scene, and she suddenly got nervous beyond anything. Her eyes shifted to Link then back to where Cinder left. "I get it, it's okay. Hey, who wants to accept the darkness when the light is so much better to be in, you can do more during the day" She sighed and her eyes went back to where Cinder was. "I can't let her go alone. My hearts bids me to go to h.l.el if I let her go alone. I wouldn't ever forgive myself" She stood and looked at Link. "And I know you'd feel better if you went with me to see her off. I'll go with her, to Jabbar. It'll make us both feel better."

(THERE IS A TIME DIFFERENCE HERE PEOPLE!)

Legend watched as Cinder walked past him. She called his name and his body pulled himself out of the brush to her. "Cinder, we have to go, Akiko called, I thought you would have come sooner, I thought you would have heard her call. She's growing angry." Legend looked at her, but he couldn't contain himself. He walked next to her and took a big wiff of the air. "You smell nice" He growled and brought his paw up and brushed it along her shoulder. "Shall we?" He nodded with his head towards the Jabbar way. He nudged her on her shoulder and then he shoved into her. He pushed her harder and harder, deeper and deeper into the forest. He would have his way now.

It was quick and fast. Legend has pushed her now far enough away that if she screamed no one would hear her. He growled and let a nasty smile crease his maw. "Well dance now, shall we?" and he advanced on her growling.

Ooc:|| No one can find them. Got it. XD NO ONE!

Cinder

Cinder turned her eyes from Link ans saw the kind smile of Exodus and returned that smile with an even bigger one. "Zelda is well enough for now." Cinder said and gave Link a quick look and then back to Exodus. "Link wanted me to speak his apologies from him to you, Exodus. He is ...protective...over Zelda and we have had alot of hard times fall on the pack. But it is not an excuse, he acted too rashly and is sorry for his actions. I hope you will be able to see past that and feel more welcome here." Cinder said. She spoke without looking at Link. She knew that was pretty much the heart of what he felt or at least she hoped it was. Then Exodus asked when she wanted to go and before Cinder could answer a familiar voice hit the sky. She held her breath for a second and then exhaled slowly. Akiko must have met up with Legend. She nodded at Exodus. "I will go and speak with him quickly to see what the word is." She looked at Link and had sadness in her eyes. she didn't want to leave. "I hope I can stay here a couple more days but if Akiko is ready I do not want to test her patience. " She stepped over to Link and touched her nose to his cheek. "I will be right back, I am just going to see what Akiko had to say." She thought it would be best if Link stayed here but every fiber of her being was screaming for her to stay with him. "Just a moment, I will be back in two shakes of your tail. Maybe you could take Exodus to see Zelda?" She looked at him in the eyes then her silver jewels speaking her love for him and him alone. She had a feeling it would make him uncomfortable her leaving to speak with Legend...hell, it made her uncomfortable.

A quick kiss to Link's nose and a glance to Exodus and she was off, trotting briskly, as if the quicker she got there the quicker she could return. She had heard the howl and went as straight as the crow would fly to the area she heard it. Close to the border. She paused and she pressed her tail tightly to her to hold her scent. If she stayed far enough away hopefully he wouldn't smell her. "Legend..." she called and her silver gaze scanned the area. She shifted her weight nervously and pricked her ears. Silence filled them. The eerieness of it made her more nervous and she decided she would go back and wait for Exodus. She said she would be here quickly but never the less. She backed up and turned around to leave...

Exodus lay there thinking to herself. She didn't know what to do. She wanted to see her father, but she knew better then that. And then there was this problem with Legend being so close. Her eyes opened with a fury and she quickly hid it when Cinder and Link began to come over towards her. As she saw the swish of Cinder's plume she gave her a little smile. "Hello" she said sitting up and nodding to the both of them.

"How is Zelda fairing?" she looked to where she and the bru Rodion had left. She shrugged and then looked back to Cinder. "And when do you want to go?" she asked softly looking at her roughly. It was then a familiar and disturbing howl broke the sky. It sang of Akiko and the task at hand. Exodus stood and looked at Cinder. "If you go I'll follow shortly. I want to speak with Zelda really fast" she smiled to Cinder. "He seems ansy, which, if Akiko spoke with him, then she's probably ansy too. And you wont want to keep her waiting..." She looked to Link and then to Cinder. She was worried on the inside though...

The hessian followed Zelda eagerly around the territory, glad to see the land from a different angle other than behind a bush. His coins took in everything with awe and ecstasy. He would have loved to wander the woods for hours, lay in the fields on his back and watch the clouds pass. Here there was no tension, no strife. It was a place to relax and retreat into one's mind. He knew there would be plenty of time for this in the future and carried on, just slightly behind his companion as they walked. Everything felt cool beneath his paws, and it sent up through his pillars and to his auds. He was much calmer now. A nod here, a small comment there, to show he was still listening as he observed.

Rodion's steps slowed, and his mouth fell agape at the sight before him. Millions of burning stars silhouetted against an blue-ebony sky. He noted the deer, but only briefly. The bright stars above him were too much to look away from, though he managed some glances at Zelda. "When you are alone they seem to shine more brightly." The copper-tinted top of the bru's muzzle nudged just beneath Zelda's chin. "You may be right, but I have never stars brighter than they are tonight beside a friend." He gave her his smile, so plain, holding so much care for one life within its curve. The celestial lights reflected in his shining optics as he looked back to their beauty with a sigh of indescribable content. "What do I think?" He questioned her in response to her query. "I think your home is beautiful, and you are truly lucky to live in such a sanctuary as this. It really is a wondrous place. And I think... I haven't felt this happy in a long time. I think this is the first feel at home since..."

He let the sentence trail off. 'Just forget it, Belikov.' They must have looked quite the sight. Two old friends stargazing for the sake of stargazing. They had a chance to be alone and talk, enjoy one another's presence before returning to the bustle of the pack. Rodion sat back on his haunches with a short, amused grunt. "Tell me about your life since we parted." His forehead playfully butted against the joint of her jaw. "You can leave out the difficult parts if you'd like."

OOC: You don't have to type it all out. Just say she explained a. b. c. or something. I'm not cruel. XD

Cinder

Cinder trembled slightly in want to touch Link. That is all she ever wanted to do was wrap her bodice around him. She saw his nod and his shrug. To Cinder that meant that Zelda was okay but Link wasn't sure if she was totally ok. She nodded back and stepped forward a step and froze when she felt Link's touch on her shoulder. Her pulse increased but then she saw his look back toward Exodus. She sighed knowing exactly what he meant. "She wants to return back to Jabbar with me. She misses her father. I don't feel she was given the warmest welcome..." Cinder paused. "Link, Exodus is a good wolf. She is kind and she would be an asset here I think. I hope we can convince her to stay...or at least return with me." She cocked her head and her tail fell softly. Once agian stirring her scent. "Would you like to speak with her?" she asked softly knowing it would be the right thing to do. She she smiled at him and knew that he would want her to be his voice and began to walk in Exodus' direction. As her pads fell upon the dirt she wondered if she should have said the words she had to Link. "I love you Link..." Did he really feel the same or was he just caught in the moment. She closed her eyes and her chest grew tight. Did she just ruin their friendship? Cinder...she said to herself in her mind...you cannot regret those words, you do love him and always will. She opened her eyes and Exodus lay before her. She gave a friendly wag of her plume and looked back to Link, not quite meeting his eyes, and waited for him to "speak" to her so she could relay back to Exodus.

One who withholds wisdom...

Zelda still looking gently at Rodion nodded her head at his remark of bad memories. Yes, as she was just so reminded bad memories are unavoidable. He seemed a bit shaken she had seen that when he had come out of the den but she also saw him working past it and pushing it back down. Perhaps not the best way to deal with bad memories but it would do for now. Her face lit up at his approval of a tour and she smiled even wider. Then looking at him curiously for a moment for his second comment. Surely he did not come here to see them and to become apart of their pack? Well, she doubted that him finding her and Link was intentional. Still she wondered why he would come here to stay when he was heir to a pack back home. Suddenly the pieces clicked together and she felt like there was something she was supposed to remember…something she heard but she could not quite recall it. Something must have happened but she would not bring it up now, especially not after he was upset because of a bad memory.

Clearing her thoughts she stalked forward throwing him a delighted smile. “Shall we?” She said as she stepped forward to lead the way. As the walked through the woods she pointed out small things like There is where pups like to play, that’s a good place to catch rabbits, here is a good place for resting in the sun….and it went on. As they walked through the woods the trees were not as dense as they were on the borders of the terra. Interspaced between them were fields, small ones big ones. And the open sky lit up them up and made them look quite beautiful. “This is why we are called Midnight Meadows.” Pausing to look across an especially large field there was a small herd of deer. They watched the pair warily but Zelda had no intention of bothering them today and moved on into the woods. “It is nice to look up at the stars. When you are alone they seem to shine more brightly.” She spoke from experience. Looking at Rodion she smiled, her clear blue hues sparkling. “What do you think?” Truly these lands were beautiful. Not like the harsh landscape of Muerta or the charred remains of Jabbar.

Link was still staring after Zelda and his aud flicked at Cinder’s approach. Her scent washed over him and for a moment he felt weak but he strengthen a resolve he made with himself and stuffed his feelings down. He would do to Cinder what she thought she wanted right now. It was only because she was in season and she was due to go back to Jabbar. What if he sent her there waddling with his young? Ha! It was like he would be gift wrapping her for slaughter. No he could not do that to Cinder. Eyes finally landing on her he nodded slowly and then shrugged. Showing that he was not completely sure of it, but he did think that she was alright. Strange how Rodion showed up now of all times. It was a strange working of Fenrir but he would not question it. Touching his nose to Cinder’s shoulder he looked back towards Exodus questioningly. He worried after the fem, she had not the best welcome here and it shamed him that she was treated like that.

Rodion was glad to have the opportunity to let go of his nightmares. Zelda understood the rigors of having to think past bad times. Part of his reason for caring about her so dearly. Their closeness in mind. She would be able to understand practically any part of him, or at least sympathize out of a rare sort of kindness. "Yes, it seems bad memories are altogether unavoidable." He shook out his pelt and stood, flashing a kind smile to Zelda. The horror still floated like a dark fog through his mind. It hid in dark corners, tried to corrupt him from within, but he pushed it back as far as he could. He knew he would have to face it later, but if he could postpone it for another time...

She brought up a tour. He had explored the lands himself early on, but surely there were still things he had not seen. And besides, a walk with an old friend to catch up wouldn't hurt. "A tour would be fantastic,"Rodion acknowledged her words with a sort of slow nod. "It will give me a chance to really see this place. After all, a place I want to call home shouldn't be a strange place, should it?" A wink, and he was back to his old self. No reason to dwell for too long. He had to wonder, would they take him here? His intentions would soon be made clear to Zelda. He intended to voice his well meaning desires to take over for her soon. He didn't want her to have one more day of stress as a leader, no matter how good she may have been at it. Tenison seemed to lift off his shoulders. He was back in his element. He lifted a paw tentatively and waited for her lead. She could show him wherever she chose. It was her tour, after all.

Cinder

Sliver optics fell upon Link once more as she waited for an answer from Exodus. He was alone and the draw to be with him was even stronger than before. She was torn. She had just asked Exodus to hunt with her but now, more than anything, wanted to be in Link's presence...alone. She looked at Exodus and smiled softly. "Exodus, I need to speak with Link. Please forgive me for being rude, I do want to hunt with you. " Cinder stepped two steps toward Link and wagged her plume, stirring her scent in the air once more. "Thank you so much Exodus for your help with Zelda." Cinder wanted to add that she would be right back but she didn't want Exodus to have to wait if things got...complicated.

Turning she trotted over to Link and paused just a few padfalls from him. Her momentum swirled her scent toward Link and licked her delicate lips. "Is Zelda okay?" she asked softly. Wanting so much to go to him but they were no longer in private and Cinder still so unsure. She again stepped one step closer and paused, looking up and Link and then back down before looking up again. He is such a handsome creature. She thought to herself silently. She had always thought so but now with her season upon her everything about him made her body ache with need. She shifted her weight from side to side as if she were uncomfortable, but the only uncomfort to her was that she was not pressed against him.

((Ahhh... so lost... I only skimmed the posts, seeing there are many... I'm still a bit tired, so they'll be a bit short until I get my bearings again.))

Vaarak had been surprised when Link made a sound, suggesting to give aid if needed. Even though he was relatively new, he wished the other would regain his voice. He was about to start talking until the others around him did, and his conscience suggested that he remain silent this time, and so he did. He also gave the others some room, and later decided to rest of of the way of the others.

Balthier found the lavender with little difficulty. When he'd returned, Zelda was still out of it, so he had placed the plants nearby and left, with no one noticing him. Or if they did, they realized who it was before becoming alert. Then he had left to rejoin his brother and had rested up. Balthier was the first of the two to wake up again, and he was still not yet sure if Zelda was awake yet, but didn't want to disturb anyone. He was content to lay there until there was a call or he was given an order.

One who withholds wisdom...

Zelda took his affectionate greeting with grace and smiled kindly. Though a tired smile at that. A mere shrug about her exhaustion comment, no need to draw attention to it any further. The sooner this blew over the better. She had kept her track record of panic attacks clean until this day and she was not planning to indulge in them any further.

Seeing the change come over him, an expression of grief, her eyes grew wide and concern flushed through her body. He was the same old Rodion and she found that she still cared about him the way she used to, grown or not, he was still her friend. She kept her worry in check because she knew dominant wolves did not like it when you voiced such things. It made them feel weak and possibly threatened, especially the son of an alpha. Looking at him cooly she smiled an even softer smile and murmed lightly. "Bad memories belong to everyone whether they be dark or light, young or old." Her tone was indeed a bit maternal but that was Zelda for you. Compassion and caring was her very being. Such a great mother she would have been...

"Would you like to have a tour Rodion? I don't know how long you intend to stay, but surely your welcome at any length." Changing the topic to something easier, she would not pry into his affairs.

flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each

OOC: A little short for him again. I'll give Zelda a chance. Wink

,Wishing on a Shooting Star, :MB: - Page 32 Alpha114

The horror replayed in his mind over and over. His panting slowly came down, and he shut his eyes, not ready to sleep, but more than willing to welcome blackness than the dirt around him. His heart sunk in his chest as it thudded against his ribs. Never had he thought about it before. He had never wanted to. It was a test. This was all he could reason. His father tested him from beyond the grave. He shook his head. What a stupid notion. He was a grown man. Mature. Ghost stories were the last thing he needed to believe in. He was just trying to comfort himself by making things up like a child. He was practically ready to scold himself aloud when a feminine scent wafted to the den, and a voice he had been so ready to hear called his name. He smiled weakly, stood, and stretched before exiting the den. He would have invited her inside, but it was much too small for the both of them.

Rodion ducked his head as he entered, looking up at Zelda's face with relief. Immediately he stood up straight and nuzzled the femme with great affection. "Zelda. I'm glad to see you're up." He spoke as though nothing was wrong. "There's no need to apologize for what happened. You're worn out. I can't blame you for exhaustion." His eyes searched her carefully, making sure she was alright. She seemed tired, but he would not call her on it. He had a feeling Link had given her a look or two. He sighed. Of course she had asked if everything was alright. He sat back on his haunches and looked at his paws. "Hehe... you've... caught me in a moment of weakness. I was dreaming. That's all. It was... it..." Another sigh, heavy, grief laden. He gave her the same weak smile he had inside the den. His accent seemed heavier, as though the thoughts almost impeded his speach. "Don't worry about it. Just..." He looked past her, eyes distant, glassy. His voice was no more than a whisper. "Just a bad memory."

He was so ashamed. He trusted Zelda, even after so long still loving her like a sister. But to show this side of himself, a side he didn't even know he had. It would pass. He just had to forget. It would pass. It was so long ago... he had let it go. Why he had to do so now, again, was beyond him. He hated this weakness. Aleksandr never had this side. His father was never this meek, this insignificant looking. All this... just over a silly dream. The hessian wondered what Zelda would think of him. He recalled her openness to everyone, but it still worried him. Would she judge him? Comfort him like a mother to a pup? It made him sick to think of himself in such a way. Now he just wanted to crawl back in the hole and hide. It was so unlike him. He could never be a leader. Not like this.

One who withholds wisdom...

There was a familiar and pleasant warmth around her. A soft rumbling going through the body gentle eased her awareness from the dark. There was a soft smell of lavender and mint. It cleared and soothed her senses as intended and her eyes flicked open. There was an immediate reaction from the one behind her and she looked back at her brother. His eyes drilled into hers with so much concern that it made her heart ache that she caused him such a magnitude of it.

Her mind was reeling remembering what had happened. Rodion was here..was he really here or was that a figment of her own imagination? Eirwyn, what happened to her? "Eirwyn?" She looked at her brother questioninly. Link shrugged and made an indication that the fem was gone. Zelda frowned and looked off into the distance. She had not meant to throw her own past on the fem and make her feel guilty. She hoped that she would see the fem soon...

Link moved so that she could stand up. As she did so she wobbled at first but she was fine. "I am fine Link." She said to reassure her brother who was standing too close for comfort. She knew he could not help it. Shaking her tri hued pelt she stepped away from him. Her side hurt slightly and she guessed that was from the fall. Still trying to wrap her mind around what happened she looked uneasily at her brother. "And Rodion? Is he really here?" But before she could get an answer a cry came from not to far away. Murderer! Her fur tingled and her eyes locked to where it was coming from.

"I'll go Link, no i'm fine I promise. It was just stress. Just stay here and...and just stay here. I need to go talk to him." Then she turned and stalked away from her brother.

True she did not feel her best right now but she hadn't felt her best in a long time. Approaching the den she could smell his scent so she knew he was there. "Rodion? It's me Zelda. I'm sorry for before...is everything all right?" There was nothing to be ashamed of in front of Zelda. Her soul so compassionate and kind would not judge one for a single action. She bet that he was dreaming. Why else would he be in a den but to sleep? Still though she felt uneasy. How vulnerable she made herself to him bothered her. Sure they knew each other but it had been a very long time ago and she did not know the sort of wolf he had grown into. Looking at the den opening she waited...

Link watched his sister go uneasily and was ready to just follow her, but he saw the stubborn set in her jaw and with a sigh sank back onto his haunches. His eyes kept on her form as she walked the short distance. He knew that he probably should be getting back to Cinder but she was with Exodus and strangely enough he trusted the fem.

Rodion gave a curt nod to both faes. "Thank you, Cinder. And Exodus, it was a pleasure. Perhaps I will have a chance to get to know you better in the future. Good luck on your hunt." A short bow, and he left their presence. He made his way to the eastern side, knowing full well where Cinder meant. It was a good thing he had explored before hand, or he would have had to drag Cinder along to help him find it. He plodded along, vague and tired thoughts running through his head. He circled back quickly, heading to Link for a brief moment. He looked briefly at Zelda, still out, but stayed briefly for the business. "Link, before I ask, I was informed of your lack of voice. I'm truly sorry for your predicament, and I hope someday your voice will return. But now however, I go to rest. I would greatly appreciate it if you could send someone to wake me when Zelda is well." Another bow, and he left him to be alone with his sister. He hoped Link would not think he was being too forward. He just needed to lay down.

Fairly quickly, despite his fatigue, he dragged himself to the dens. The first empty one he found, he dragged his large form inside. It was a bit small, but it would do. Almost immediately, he fell into a deep, nearly impenetrable slumber. Someone would have to stick their head in the den to wake him later. Sounds muffled, the world around him went dark, and a welcome warmth washed over him. But it did not last. Soon, a frozen wave came over him, and stark images came from the blackness behind his heavy lids...

His father smiled lovingly at him, and a thrilling sensation entered his heart. He was young, still a bit lanky, but all the makings of a leader as they expected him to be.
"I am proud of you, son. You have grown so swiftly... I cannot see a single difference between you and I." Aleksandr's eyes searched his son's as he said this, as though proving a point by looking for the nonexistent differences. "You go to lead your first hunt today. I know you will be succesful, and I expect the best from you." A rare nuzzle of affection graced the intersection of his jaw and his neck. His baritone voice was filled with joy and pride for his son. "You will not let me down."
"No father, I won't." It was almost strange to hear his own voice. "I promise you I will come back with the greatest feast this pack has ever seen." He could so clearly recall the nervousness fluttering in his chest, the confidence beginning to bloom within him as he turned away to start the coursing. With Aleksandr's approval watchful eye, and his long-time, trustworthy friends at his side for the first hunt of the summer, there was nothing that could bring him down. The smell of fresh, wet earth filled his nares, and the scene went black...

The next thing he saw was chaos. Wolves he knew and loved darting to and fro, some crying, others arguing violently amongst themselves. A select few crowded together, his mother, sister, and brother part of the group. They were being consoled. Rodion had just returned from a long night of self-reflection, rigorously reciting his responsibilities and such for his taking of the throne. As he approached and came to be noticed, growls arose. He grew frightened at the strange situation as some glared and others backed away in fear. What was going on? He came closer, joined the circle, and immediately cried out. There his father lay, bloodied and cold. He pressed his skull into his mother's neck. "What has happened here?" He could feel his eyes wide with distress. "Mother, who did this?" He was horrified when she backed away, as did the rest of them, and shook like a pup.
"Rodia... They say... you did."
His stomach flipped, and he almost vomited at the words. "Who? Who says I did? It's not true. Mother... Sonia! Ivan, you must believe me, whoever accuses me must be mistaken."
They still gaped in silent disbelief. "Please! All of you," The others began to listen in on his plea, "You don't believe it, do you?"
The black and white hessian approached, a dark look on his face as he shook his head. "Rodia... who else? You are the only one who is after the throne so ardently. No one else here would dare. No one else could take Aleksandr if they tried-"
"Nicolai, don't say that. Don't..." He was so close to tears...
"-Except for you. They found him last night. You were the only one missing then." Such a disgusting look on his face. He looked the heir in the eyes, and a glint of mischief shone in his eyes that no one caught. No one except the heir himself.
Rodion looked to his pack. They nodded in agreement, as if the poison this smooth talker spewed was the truth. He looked to his family. Further horror shone in their eyes as the supposed truth began to occur to them.
"No... no, don't listen to him. He lies!" Their expressions did not change. He finally began to cry. His voice cracked as he peered at his mother and begged. "He's a liar! Please!" They surrounded him. He was trapped by his own pack. He stared at Aleksandr's limp form, dragging a sob out of him. When he looked up, he just barely caught the end of a malicious smile on Nicolai's face. A growl of deep, suppressed hatred began to erupt, and turned into a demonic snarl that tore through the sudden, heavy silence like thunder.
"You! How dare you! You poison their minds, you turn them against me!" New, hot tears spilled over onto his cheeks.
"Wha- Me?" Nicolai looked around, feigning innocence. "I only told them the truth, Rodia."
"DON'T call me that."
"It was what they needed to hear." He leaned in, voice a venomous whisper. "They just needed closure. Rodia, you can't deny it. You've killed your own father." The smile returned.
Rodion would not be fooled, but he would not leap at his adversary like he wanted. It would make him look worse. Instead, the pent up rage came out in volume.
"Murderer! You killed my father! It was you! ..."

"MURDERER!" Rodion woke up screaming it, finding himself on his feet and panting from exasperation. It was so loud his throat burned. For a small den opening, a distance not to far from everyone else, and a wolf's sense of hearing, he was sure to be heard by just about everyone. It was all he could do to curl up in a ball and shudder. Why? Why now? Why here? He would hate having to face them now. He would have to explain everything. At least he could here, where at home, they had never given him the chance...

Cinder

While Cinder's gaze rested on Link and Zelda she heard Rodion's compliments to Exodus and was glad someone thought she was worthwhile. She turned her attention back to the conversation as soon as Rodion began asking why and where she was going. Cinder found it odd for somone she met not moments before could be so concerned for her whereabouts. She licked her maw. "Rodion, I have business to attend to in Jabbar with the Beta, Akiko. It is a personal matter." she said softly. She had a hard time telling anyone the reason why she was going....even Link. She needed to go for herself to learn how to protect herself and those she loved, even if Akiko said she wouldn't teach her to fight but to defend. Something was better than nothing and she didn't want to argue with anyone else about her choice. Cinder felt that Akiko was the only one who could give her the best advantage. Other's could teach her to fight but only they way they knew how. Nobody but Akiko could teach her to use her size as an advantage and Cinder would use what she taught her and adapt it to fighting if need be.

Cinder smiled at Rodion and noted the weariness in his form. Concern worried her brow and lyrics came forth. "There are some empty dens on the east side, I am sure you will be welcome to any of them Rodion." She paused and stood, keeping her tail down to suppress her scent. "Please go rest and maybe Exodus would join me in a quick hunt. I am sure when Zelda wakes she will be hungry too." She looked at Exodus at that moment. "Will you help me?' She smiled and waved her plume softly in friendship. Then she looked to Link once more. She needed to tell him what she was doing before they left. She didn't want him to become frantic.

The tri-colored hessian chose to remain silent for much of the conversation, taking in as much information as he could before choosing to speak. "I'm grateful for your bravery, Exodus. I might never have met Cinder if you hadn't saved her." He gave a deeper bow of his head in respect to this fae, glad to meet someone with valiance such as this. However, some of her words caught him off guard. In an uncharacteristic move, he stuttered, looking back and forth between the two of them rather rapidly. "Wait, wait... why is she leaving? Cinder, where are you going?" His voice was not loud, but it held some sudden surprise to it. He was not too happy about the situation, though he kept his polite air for the most part. He
gripped his talons into the dirt, waiting in silence and turning thoughts over as he did so.

"I miss my father." The first words that came to mind were ones that twisted his stomach. He had heard everything about Legend, thought him quite an irritating young bru from what he gathered, but these five syllables held so much meaning for him. Never in his life had he spoken the words, let alone thought them. And it occurred to him that he had felt these exact sentiments, but hadn't once taken the time to dare to say them or put them through his brain. He let himself down with this, and a consuming sadness and hatred for himself began to fester. It would not last long. No, with some time to himself or a nap he would feel better. But for now disappointment loomed in his soul. 'Aleksandr... father... would be ashamed of me. What kind of man am I? To lament my dead sire but once, and never again reflect on what great chasm has been left in my heart...' On the outside, he barely showed his true emotion, save for the twitch of a brow or his lip.

Rodion decided it would be best to keep things to himself for now, and let Cinder and Exodus have their conversation. So things had not gone as well as planned for his quality time with Exodus. Later... he would make sure of it later. He only just began to realize how tired he truly was, and how far he had traveled. He thought on it. 'Weeks... on meager sustenance and what water I could find... It's a wonder I haven't become a heap of fur and bone.' He just barely began to feel the effects, the last bit of anger towards himself had sent his pulse highter, and the epinephrine in his body brought him up for brief moments before sending him crashing. His maw parted, growing wider and wider to reveal a row of glistening ivories in a massive yawn. It was not only lack of rest. It was exhaustion. Greeting everyone, trying to take command whilst fretting over Zelda; with a whimiscal thought, he admitted that he was becoming Zelda himself, and all too quickly.

Rodion pressed his muzzle to Cinder's shoulder. "I hate to stop such conversation," his voice grew husky, just barely ragged with onset fatigue, "But I was wondering if there were any open places to rest? This short break has offered my body time to shut down, and I haven't settled myself for sleep or ease in quite a while." A weak smile, with his head lowered so only his eyes gazed up at her, "I regret wanting to sleep while Zelda is still under and while I am in such wonderful company, but I'm afraid I too will drop before long." He offered a laugh and left it at that, even words becoming an effort for him to make. With total honesty, he regretted having to leave the two for slumber, but his body knew what it needed, and semi-idle chatter was not it.

Cinder

Cinder returned Exodus's smile tenfold and then her face grew serious when Exodus's words turned to Legend. She sat down and let her pelt touch her friend, a warm friendly gesture and sighed. Legend did prove a problem. "I would appreciate it Exodus and I must say I would enjoy the company." She didn't exactly trust the bru that had wanted her to take her life and now so it seemed, wanted her for a mate. She was curious to the reason, she wasnt' the most strong or the most daring, the most beautiful or confident? What could he possibly see in her? What could Link see in her? Her old misgivings were returning for the moment. She looked toward Link and licked her maw. Her body was crying for him and there was nothing to be done now. It would take the backburner...there were much more pressing things. She shifted her weight from one hip to the other, as if the change would lessen the feeling. Then she felt ashamed for the selfish thoughts flowing through her mind. Her silver eyes darkened for a moment.

Then the subject turned to Damean. "I wish I had a father to miss."Cinder thought to herself and then smiled back at her friend and she nodded when she spoke of darks and pures coexisting. A warm wonderful dream. Cinder wished it was so years ago, before the abuse. She looked toward Rodion and wondered his view on the subject, she flicked an ear in curiosity. Then the conversation came upon Legend again. Cinder sighed heavily and looked to her paws. She felt so responsible for everything. Sometimes she felt like bad things followed her. She sighed. "Exodus, I am so sorry for that." She turned and her silver gaze looked toward the dark fem's scar. She looked toward Rodion, feeling that he was kind of left out of the conversation. "Exodus saved my life. From her brother." She left it at that. She didn't want to go into all the gory details if Exodus wished it naught. She gave Rodion a smile and again glanced toward Link and Zelda. She hoped Zelda would wake soon....she worried if she didn't something serious might be wrong.

There were footsteps coming closer and Exodus didn't move. They would pass or stop, and sure enough they stopped and a warm nose pressed into her fur. She lifted her head slowly and turned to Cinder giving her a warm smile back and a nod. "I understand. Legend and I used to be the same. Now he's just nuts" She shrugged and sat upright looking towards Rodion. She had heard his full name, but if this is what he wanted to be called then so be it. She let her head drop about a an inch for a nod and then her eyes shifted back to Cinder as he too spoke about Link. "I'm glad you guys got what you needed out of the way" He sighed and looked past Cinder now to where Legend had gone off. "When you leave I'm going with you. I do not trust Legend as your...scout or guide or whatever is going on with him" She sighed and looked to Rodion.

"I miss my father" She smirked and looked back at Cinder. "He'd know what to do with him." She sighed and looked towards Rodion then back at Cinder, she shouldn't care what this brute thought about what she was going to say. "And as for warm welcomes. It doesn't matter. I know why I'm here, my father has sent me here to be his voice. I'm the closest thing to him. Darkness is my heart, but I don't believe in this... pure and darks against eachother. I don't know what I'm supposed to do here. If a war was supposed to break out he wouldn't lay a wolf in these lands. There are too many wolves in our lands from here, and us here from there... It's all a... change in times."

Exodus looked at Cinder now, wondering what she would say on this matter. If she would see this as truth, if she would see Damean's views on how Ecodus presented all of this information. "He would even stand against Akira if she pressed into your lands. Legend is the only one I know of that is so against wolves in other packs. Which is why Cinder, you can't go with him. It wont be allowed, by me, or my father if he were here. It's...not right. What he did to you before was just... uncalled for" and the scar running along the opposit side of her body felt heavy as she thought of her father's on the other side of his body.

He followed silently. He kept his mind mostly clear, but couldn't help pondering what this meeting held in store. Exodus seemed like a different type altogether. Pure, but with a darkness in her that was easy to see. Perhaps it was just her lineage... no. It was something that could not be helped. It made him want to sigh. Personas like this always seemed to have a lot of inward suffering. He had met many before who were no longer with them purely because of self-loathing and the inability to find who they were. He prayed this femme was not that for gone. He did not even know her. To be making assumptions without speaking to her was wrong. He stopped himself before rash thoughts went any further.

He listened carefully to Cinder's words. Jabbar... he had heard tell of these lands, but had never dared to visit there himself. He was sure he would be fine if he visited simply for the purpose of acquainting himself with the alphen, but regardless... though he was not one to believe rumor, rumor itself held malicious words on its tongue about this place. To see one willing to leave darkness's cold embrace made him begin to feel that same pride he felt in Cinder. The cogs in Belikov's mind began to turn. 'Lord of a dark pack... barely dark himself? Surely he must be half crazy.' But once again, who was he to judge? He could have had many reasons for being the way he was. It seemed as though his take on wolves from the other side of the line was a bit skewed after Nicolai... but he would let it go easily enough. It was just a matter of meeting and speaking with another to get to know them. As soon as everything was squared away, if he was truely here to be an alphen as his father's spirit guided him, he would make it a poin to meet with this Damean Jager.

While this all turned through his head, he gave Cinder silent, thoughtful nods and grunts of understanding to show he really was paying attention. They reached Exodus, and he finally got a good look at her. The pink scar showing against her fur... her large frame... it made him sad that prejudice could be put in such an easily judged image. But he himself would not judge. Many had scars for the most honorable reasons, and he would not question the origins of these before him. He looked to Cinder while she gave Exodus her words, a smile creasing him once again at her kindness. He was introduced. A curt, low dip of his dial to her and a smile was given. In his mind he chuckled at Cinder's hesitation. He could not read her mind, and he had to wonder what she was thinking about how to introduce him. "It is a pleasure, Exodus. I must thank you as well for your wisdom and quick thinking. And I must agree with Cinder," he passed her a quick look, just as she had given him, "Link can be a bit... impulsive when he wants to be." He gave Exodus his full attention, not really staring her down, but not staring at her either. He just went politely silent, affording her as much time as she needed to respond.

Cinder

Cinder nodded again at Rodion's words as she began to walk slowly toward Exodus. She thought it was funny that he didn't suspect that she had come from a Dark lineage. To Cinder she felt it stuck out all over her like burrs to her coat. "Exodus is from Jabbar. Her father is the dark lord, Damean Jager. She is a kind wolf and she saved my life." CInder said softly as they walked. Words seemed to pour from her around this wolf, the only other who could coax them out of her like this was Link. "Damean Jager isn't a bad sort either...for a dark." She suprised herself in saying that. He once set an assasin on her heels but he seemed to have changed and Cinder was forgiving. Soon she had come close enough so Exodus could hear and Cinder walked forward and nudged the dark fea's laying form.

"Exodus. Thank you for finding the herbs for Zelda." she said softly as she stood by the fem's side. "I am sorry I haven't been to see you sooner and I am sorry for the poor welcome you got. Please understand everyone has been on edge since Evon." She wagged her tail softly, again stirring her perfume but she did not worry so much. Rodion seemed to be immune. She smiled softly down at Exodus, with kindness in her silver eyes. "Exodus...this is Rodion. He is...." Cinder didn't know exactly where he would fit here yet. He seemed a leader but would he take charge? She smiled and finished up her sentence "he is a friend." She sat on her haunches and hoped her friend would speak. "I apologize for Link too. He sometimes is hastey when it comes to Zelda. He was just trying to protect her and he took the herbs you offered." She sat quietly and gave Rodion a glance. She had to apologize for Link. She knew he had not meant anything by it. He was a kind soul too. With that thought she looked in his direction for a second before turning her attention back to Exodus.

Rodion's auds pressed back momentarily as Cinder seemed to get uncomfortable with his request. He made a mental note to not use those words with her anymore. It was always unpleasant to relive bad memories, and seeing as Zelda had already done so, he did not want another packmember to have to do the same. He thought it funny that he still had not flashed back to his own days passed. His characteristic smile grew wider with every moment passed. He felt a welling of pride in his chest for the fae's words as they grew stonger. "As long as you will try. An effort is better than nothing." A little bit of pride for himself - though he would not admit it - shone in the back of his mind for getting her to speak more clearly and strongly. It seemed as though he had made yet another friend here... or so he hoped. She seemed comfortable enough with him, and he would prefer to assume the best for now in times like these.

Cinder's attention flickered to Link yet again. It was clear now to Rodia that the two had something together. 'Love,' the single word flashed through his mind. It did not mean much to him, seeing as he had not yet felt affection toward another the way they did. He knew, however, how much it meant to others like them, and how in these times it was so needed. It warmed his heart, and he dwelled on it for a moment before her word's caught his ears. Yes, visiting Exodus was exactly what needed to be done. A nod of agreement was given while he spoke. "An excellent idea, friend. I was thinking the same when I first saw her." He gave her a brief look-over, eyes peering at her form with interest. "You come from the darkness? I never would have suspected it of you. Though the other, I can maybe see... in bloodlines." He spoke as though he had some kind of power, though this was clearly not the case. He addressed Cinder, though his gaze held fast on Exodus. "Lead the way. You know her better than I." He would entrust her with the task of starting conversation. He did not want to seem to pretentious, starting conversation with everyone he met. This would be a good chance to work his words and manners again, gaining the opportunity to cheer another. His pads shuffled, and he waited by Cinder's side for her to start the trek. He could follow... for once.

Cinder again smiled at Rodion's cordial ways. He seemed very soft yet very dominant at the same time. It was soothing, his low tones and comforting words. His words then rang in her ears "Look at me." and the three words sent her back to a time long ago and a streak of fear coursed through her veins. She hadn't heard those words for a long time and every time she had they had brought her harm. She swallowed and tried to force the nightmares away. She wasn't there...this was her home....he cannot hurt you anymore Cinder. She closed her eyes for a long second and tried to control her breathing which had quickened at his words. One breath, two...she was back to normal and looked up to meet Rodion's eyes. His words came to her and they were kind. Pain did not come in the form of sharp fangs or harsh words and she relaxed. She licked her lips and parted her maw. "I will try Rodion." she said her voice barely above a whisper. Then she swallowed again and the words came stronger "I will try."

She felt drained from the fear yet she felt comforted by Rodion's words. She took at deep breath and again she looked to Link he had finally put Zelda down and lay beside her. They seemed far enough away for quiet but Cinder could still see their forms. She hoped Zelda would stir soon. A longing pained in her heart once more. The want for closeness, for touch, for soft words. She sighed deeply and turned her silver gaze away from Link's form to Rodion. She smiled at the bru who seemed so confident and relaxed and then her gaze caught Exodus again. "Rodion, I feel I must go and see to my friend. Would you accompany like to accompany me? She is new to the lands and from dark roots such as myself. I feel she needs a better welcome than she recieved." Cinder said the emotion in her words showing she had been less welcome in her past also. She stood, took one another look at Link and awaited Rodion's words, knowing he would proably come because he seemed so kind.

One who withholds wisdom...

"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..."
-Sheik

As Link proceeded to walk away he halted suddenly when the ebon femme cut in from of him. At first he looked at her with slight confusion and was taken aback by her glare. He had not heard her suggestion about waking up Zelda. Link felt aggression coursing through his being, such had been uncharacteristic of him for a long while. At her remark he felt himself frown. He had been rather foolish now for picking up his sister.

Glancing down at the herbs he stepped over them for the moment and went just far enough away for solitude and carefully lay Zelda down. Then he went back and retrieved the herbs. He would have to find a way to apologize to the femmora. Taking them back he placed them in front of her nose and then curled around her.

He had glanced Cinder with Rodion and he seemed to be courteous enough. He knew that Cinder would take care of the pack for a moment. He knew that soon Zelda would stir.
The other who withholds courage...
