Hunting For Love

Mirror smelled the meat that was near her and woke up. She saw Coyote eating. She guess that he sniffed his way to the food. She looked at the pups. Eyes and ears were open. She smiled as she said,"Welcome to the world pups." She licked Rebel as the pup yawned. Mirror looked at Coyote and said,"Good morning dear." She licked his nose once before smiling.

He grinned broadly, licking her nose in responce. ""Mornin' hun." He turns to where the pups are, but acccidently turning away from them. "Good Morning pups." His tail wags.

Mirror looked at Coyote and smiled she nuzzled his face to the pups. She smiled as the pups were talking softly to eachother. He eats the last piece of the meat she had and then looked at Rebel.

Rebel looked to the outside world and saw a brownish red wolf laying there. She scooted over to his paws and said," Are...you...my...papa?" She licked her lips as the other pups walked to Mirror to drink milk. Rebel tryed her best to smile,not knowing that he was blind.

Coyote grinned broadly. "Yes, I am your... papa." He was still not used to the word. "Which pup is this?" He begs quietly to Mirror from the corner of his mouth.

Mirror looked up at Coyote. "Rebel dear,and Eiji is coming to talk to you too." She looked down on Ludio and Intorqueo. They were drinking her milk for sometime. She stood up because she didn't want them to get to big. She licked them as she was keeping her eye on Rebel,Eiji,and Coyote to listen.

Rebel looked up and said," Oh ok." She wobbled over to Coyote and layed between his paws. She yawned and fell asleep,not noticing everyone was getting a bath from Mirror. Rebel didn't hear Eiji walking up to Coyote or the sound of Mirror licking the pups one by one and setting them close together.

Eiji looked up at the big figure that looked just like his mother. "Will I be as big as you when I grow up." He sat and tilted his head,waiting for a answer. But then he fell back from not having balance. He started to cry quietly as that was so sudden for him.

Mirror looked over to Eiji and wanted to help but the other pups except Rebel yelled," Me next! Me next!" So she leaned to Coyote and said," Can you calm Eiji down please?" She went back to Intorqueo and licked him. She was worried about Eiji,not able to help him. but she knew that Coyote was the best father ever and he would do it.

"Yeah." He follows the sound of crying and noses the puppy. A timid lick rasps across the pups head.

Intorqueo sneaks up on his father, then leaps on him, chewing on his tail.

Ludio follows, but chews on one of his ears.

"Ow! Not the tail! Ow! Not the ear! Help me please." He begs to Mirror

Mirror looked at the pups. She stood up and picked them up one by one. She sat them near her stomach so they could nurse. She sighed as she thought, Being a mother is hard.

Rebel woke up after all the noice and yawned. She looked up to see if she was still between Coyote's paws. She smiled as she nuzzled his chest and wobbled over to nurse with the others. She looked at Mirror and smiled as she began to drink her milk.

Eiji sniffled as he looked up at his father. He was a bit scared of Coyote, not knowing that was him at first. But after a few seconds,he breathed," Oh," and went over to where Mirror was to nurse and then fall asleep.

"Ow. My poor ear and tail. How are you holding up?" He questioned Mirror as he rested his head on his paws. His tail taps softly on the ground, proving that hes laughing on the inside.

Mirror smiled as she said," No I can keep going." She stood and said," I'm going to go hunt. Howl if something happens. Use you ears and nose to see if a predator is near." She smiled as she dugged the carcass out of the den and set out on her journey to hunt.

" 'Kay Mirror." He sighs softly, wondering if he would ever be able to protect his family again. He nuzzles the pups as they wobbled over to him, curling up in his chest fur to keep warm. He sighes softly, resting his head to the side.

After a hour of looking and chasing, Mirror come back though the entrance with a calf locked in her jaws. " I'm back." She layed the carcass down and looked at the pups. She licked her lips and smiled.

Rebel and Ejij woke up and looked at Mirror. They grinned as they ran and yelled to her," MOMMY! MOMMY!" They nuzzled her legs as they were glad to see her. It seemed like hours to them. They smiled.

Coyote automatticly raises his head at the pups loud greeting. Intorqueo jumps on the calf, and begins yanking on the ears. "Mommy, whats this?" "Yeah, yeah, what is it?" Ludio yelps out. He stumbles over his dads leg as he tries to walk to the calf.

Mirror looked at them and smiled. She calmly said," It's food. You will eat it soon." She ripped a piece off and gave it to Coyote. She walked back and grabbed her a piece and layed down beside Coyote. She looked at the pups and said," Why don't you pups play in the back of the den." Mirror looked at them run to the back of the den. She nuzzled Coyote and said," What would I do without the best mate in the world? I would lost." She smiled and ate the last piece of meat.

"Awww. Your just saying that." But beneath his fur Coyote was imitating a tomato. "I would be lost without you too." Coyote grins, nuzzling her. He noms his meat before resting his head on his paws, thinking. I have heard of other blind wolves who learned to sense the things around them. Maybe I should try. He tried his best to sense things around him. Mirror, and... one of the pups?

"Daddy! What does it taste like?"Intorqueo limps up to him.

"Delisios." He could sense that she had her leg turned so that the twist wasnt in effect.

Mirror smiled at Coyote and Intorqueo as she licked her lips from eating the meat. She was getting tired. She had not gotten much sleep since the pups eyes and ears opened. She yawned as she nuzzled Coyote to get his attention," I am going to take a nap. Is that ok?" She layed her head down and smiled up to Coyote.

"Course Mi." He grins. "You dont need to ask me if you can take a nap." He bares his teeth in a wolf laugh. He sighs softly as the pups nuzzle into the chest fur between his legs. All the pups fall asleep. Coyote keeps his nose and ears perked so as to smell things coming their way.

Mirror smiled as she closed her eyes. She could not go to sleep though. She opened her eyes for a minute and closed her eyes again. She finally went to sleep. She dreamed of her and Coyote,looking at the pups leaving,going to do their own life. Mirror woke up and sighed. The pups were so little. She had to treasure every moment she could. Mi picked up the pups one by one and let them nurse as she waited for Coyote to wake.

Coyote yawns, pink tounge uncurling as he wakes up. He closes his jaws with an audible snap, almost biting his tounge. He turns his head to Mi. "How'd you sleep?" His left ear droops halfway, giving him the appearance of an overgrown pup.

OOC- sorry I havent posted in a while. I went horsebackriding lesson then to Sonic! Yummy!

OOC: Totally fine. I was reading a book I have to get done by tomorrow and time slipped away. And you are lucky,I have been wanting to go horseback riding for some time. :/

Mirror looked up at Coyote and licked his cheek. "Just fine," she responced,lieing just a bit. She looked at the pups as they nursed and smiled. Mirror picked up Ludio and started to clean him. As she was done,the pups started to get done drinking milk.She got up and got a piece of meat and began to eat it.
Rebel looked up at her mother as she ate and smiled. She walked up to Intorqueo and said," Wanna wrestle?" She leaened down,ready to pounce and yipped. She laughed as she jumped over top of him.
Eiji looked over at Coyote and smiled he walked over and said," How are you today, Papa?" He licked the milk off his lips. He walked between his legs,near his chest and looked at him. He smiled friendly.

Intorqeuo grins as she falls on her back, using her legs to push Rebel off and away from her. She leaps at Rebel, trying to grab an ear.

Coyote laughed at the oddness of what Eiji had just said. "Fine, but shouldnt I be the one asking you that?" A grin tugs at the corner of his mouth.

Rebel looked at Intorqueo and laughed. She was having fun. She pounced on her and jumped off quickly. She runs over and trys to grab her tail.

Eiji looks up at Coyote and replies," Maybe. I don't know." She giggles a bit and licks Coyote's paw once. He yawned and layed between Coyote's large paws. She falls asleep quickly.

Ludio stalks over to Rebel, tail end high in the air.

Intorqueo leaps at Rebel at the same time as Ludio.

They both dog pile Rebel.

Coyote rolls his eyes at the pups antic, but the grin grows on his lips.

Rebel looked at Ludio and Intorqueo stalking over to her to attack together. She was ready at any moment to jump out of the way and jump on THEM. But she was to late as the three pups was together in a dog pile and was on Rebel. The paws of Ludio was hurting her shoulder. Rebel started whine as she sat to get them off and looked up at their mother coming to see what the noice was. Eiji was too. She layed her ears. She looked over to the other pups and then back at Mirror

Mirror looked over at the pups when Rebel whined loudly and sound hurt. She walked over and to the pups and asked sternly," What in the world happened?" She looked carefully at each pup and to see that Rebel was the one who whined. She nuzzled her back and shoulder and found something werid. Mi lifted her paw and felt the tiny Rebel's shoulder and found out what was wrong. Rebel's shoulder was broke. She started to panic a bit. Walking over to Coyote, she said," Coyote, I have to get some herbs. Will you be ok?" She walked to the entrance and was ready to go. She also decided that she will get some fresh food, since the pups will start being wean once she got back.

Ludio and Intorqueo whined, feeling bad. “We’re sorry Rebel. We didn’t mean to.”

“I’m really sorry Rebel. I didn’t mean to.” Ludio whimpered, laying his ears back and tucking his tail as he licked Rebel’s hurt shoulder.

They both looked up at Mirror, eyes down in sadness. “We didn’t mean to.”

Coyote walked over, his unseeing eyes wandering over the pups. “We’ll be fine Mirror.” He lowered his head so that it was level with Ludio and Intorqueo. “I know it was an accident. But you need to be more careful. Got it? No more playing until lunch tomorrow.” He turned to Mirror once again. “Fair?”

Mirror nodded that Coyote was right. " That's right. Always be careful. Plus, no playing tonight is a good idea." Before she left she nuzzled each pup and licked Coyote's cheek. "I love you guys." Walking out of the den, she hoped nothing major would happen. Mirror could smell the elk and would get that first. She crawled to the elk herd and saw a elk calf. Perfect. She jumped on the top and bit the top of the neck. The calf dropped and died peacefully. She would take it back to the den and then get some herbs.

Meanwhile, Rebel looked at Intorqueo and Ludio telling her that they were sorry. She sighed and replyed," It's alright. I was an accdeint. Right Papa?" She looked at Coyote and tilted her head. Another question popped into her tiny head. " Papa, why do you sniff around instead of using your eyes?" She was curious as she used her good working legs and shoulders to layed down beside Coyote on his left side. She yawned and promiced herself that she would wait for an answer before falling sleep. She looked outside and saw the sun going down.

Coyote turned his head to Mirrors retreating form. “Love ya Mi!” He called, using his nickname for her. He turned and grabbed Intorqueo and Ludio by their scruffs and put them each into a different corner of the den. He piled some rocks in front of them so that they could see over it, but couldn’t get out without an adults help.

He then laid down, feeling Rebel lay down beside him. “Yes Rebel, they didn’t mean too.” He paused at her next question, trying to find the best way to answer it. He decided to answer it as simple as he could. “I can’t see out of my eyes. Everything is black to me.” He let his head rest against the floor as he waited to see if Rebel would say anything.

Rebel looked up at Coyote and smiled. " I hope you get better, Daddy." She smiled and licked him. She yawned and fell asleep. She dreamed while the cool night come apon all the animals in the Lone Lands. Her and Eiji and Intorqueo and Ludio was at the river. Coyote and Mirror was on the bank and smiled at the pups playing. But then wolves attacked everyone, including her. She saw them rip everyone apart and threw their limp bodies in the river. The river was a blood bath. One of the wolves pinned her down and said with red eyes and fire coming out," YOUR NEXT!!!" As the wolf 'bit' her, she woke. She let out a whimper as looked up at Coyote. "Don't ever leave me Papa!" She leaned againist his body as a tear went down from her eyes.
