Serenity's ears twitched at the sound of Corset's voice, and he turned to see her dripping from head to toe, as if she had dived right into the water. Mud and debris were stuck in her coat. Serenity couldn't help but laugh at the sight, seeing a grin on her face as big as the shining sun. "Really?" he said, tail wagging, and stepping through the creek again. He could feel the slimy, smooth stones beneath his pads, and he knew without having to look that moss covered the bottom. He looked down right where she was. "Great job, Corset!" he said, nuzzling her with his muzzle. He lifted a paw and wiped a piece of something green off her nose. "Think you can pick some of it off with your teeth? It won't taste very good, but Mrs. Ali and will need it for her stocks. It will have to dry in the sun for a while. I am going to look for some spiderwebs, okay?"

He brushed her gently with his tail, giving her this small task - training had to start somewhere, and it was always best to start young. He headed across the creek to a bundle of katniss plants and tall water grasses, where there was sure to be a spider's web. He moved carefully through the brush, not wanting to be bitten by a spider. He did not know if there were poisonous spiders in Tirisfal, but it never hurt to be cautious. He used his front paw to divide the reeds, and then, he spotted two webs, thick with silky and shining silver. He saw two little brown spiders scuttling nearby. "Hello there," he said, speaking to them as if they were a pair of wolves. "Do you mind if I borrow your webs? I promise to you that I will return you the favor one day." Then, as if understanding, the two spiders hopped to adjacent grasses, their black eyes watching him, as if accepting his offer. Serenity nodded his head. "Thank you," he said, and turned, using his tail to collect the spiderwebs. He then headed back through the reeds, wondering how Corset was progressing with the moss.

She giggled when he spoke to her. Then, he seemed to zone out and look to the sky. She scowled, splashing over to him, splashing his leg to wake him up. "Okay!" She yelped when he asked her to help. She splashed through the water, looking for the stuff he mentioned. She could feel it underwater, causing her to slip and slide, but when she put her head under to reach it, it was out of reach. She pulled her head out of the water, and tilted her head to catch what he said. She scampered over, seeing the moss. "Over here! Over here Serenity!" She called, unnoticing of the river debris the hung over either side of her muzzle.

OOC: Kippy has passed Serenity over to me now, since she has zero muse for him, so I volunteered to give him a shot. We'll see how this goes :)

The pup bolted off for the water faster than a rabbit. Serenity smiled and he picked up his pace, now at a fast walk, but not quite a run; he felt his bones creak and one of his old wounds stung, and he knew that age was wearing on him. He let Corset beat him and splash through the water, scaring away the silvery fish within. He came upon the bank and laughed, "You're faster than you look!" The sun was scorching overhead and his pads were warm, and so he came forward and stuck his paws in the cool water, enjoying the relief. He closed his eyes and tilted his head to the sky, the summer breeze combing through his coat, as gentle as Idun's grace. It was the perfect day, at least in the shade and in the water, for anything and everything, really. The gods were smiling upon them, in this weather. Corset's cold splashes met his leg and it brought him back to where he was.

"Come, dear. Help me look for some green moss. It will soft and fuzzy," he said, turning to the clump of boulders alongside the bank. He turned to the north face of them; indeed, the moss had grown. Instead of making a mention of it, though, he put his nose to the ground, as if still searching around. What he really wanted was for Corset to discover it. "Now, where is it? It should be around here somewhere..."

Nuri watched happily as he pack indulged on some good meat. Meat he noted caught deftly by Jewel and Cumulus. He heard words exchanged between a few others that tipped him into the trio's exit. He was sad to see them go but he understood duty when it called. Everyone ate and was going about their business when he saw a little furball shooting out towards him and he stood up with a delighted chuckle. He lowered his head to the ground and touched noses. "Well hello little one...care to try some meat?" His eyes raked over her small puppish form a feeling of warm delight rise up inside of him.

Ali swallowed the rest of the meat, her belly now warmer and fuller than it had been in a very long time. She licked her white muzzle clean of the blood and stood. "Either or. If you remember what I taught you, I think you'll do fine on the northern half of the lands," she replied, curled tail swinging. If Jewel went alone, it was just one more sign that she was growing into a strong, intelligent young wolf. "Otherwise, I will be taking the southern half. Make sure you gather a lot of chamomile, we're always in need of that. We should be able to find everything we need. If you see Doctor, make sure you ask if he needs anything in particular."

The half-husky then turned southward, one blue eye watching to see if Jewel would follow, curious to see if she would do this with her or alone. Ali headed over the rolling green hills and to where the earth stretched into a meadow with tall grasses, buzzing cicadas, and a cloudless blue sky. The heat pounded on her granite back as she moved through the brush, junebugs springing with each step. It was like moving through a huge mound of snow, slow and tedious, but it wasn't something she was unfamiliar with. Her frame was built for this, her nose sharp for the scent of the much-needed flowers. She came upon a circular area that looked like it had once been scorched by fire, the yellow grasses shorter than the others. Ali swatted away the flies as she inspected the area, and then realized with a pang in her heart that she recognized it.

More than two years ago, she was standing in the exact same spot, but she was not alone. More than two years ago, Akira and her band of dark wolves were here, threatening to take over the lands. She remembered the way the huge, white witch had leapt at Silent Snowfall, the Alphess at the time, and left a crescent-shaped scar on her silver muzzle. She looked at her paws, dusty from the trek. It was here at her feet that she had had Milani, the blind yearling. Ali knew that there was a creek nearby where Milani was now buried, yet another loss in these lands that were supposed to be pure. If these lands were pure, then why was there always so much sorrow? Her own son was a part of the earth, and her other had vanished into parts unknown. Her gut clenched and she knew that reminiscing on such things wasn't good for her health or anyone in the pack, especially with what Robin had discussed with her earlier. She knew she would have to mentally prepare herself when the time came, but if these lands were so full of sorrow, then...

Ali shook her head. She needed to focus. Gather the herbs. Then, she would have all the time she would need to prepare herself, and discuss it with her husband if needed.

Jewel looked to her mother after her father had left to eat. She took a deep breath and gave her mother a soft smile. "Yes mother. I will be happy to help you look for herbs." She said and took another bite to fill her mouth. Though now her thoughts were far less on herb hunting or ranks. They were on her brother and another white wolf who now left their company.

Swallowing she blinked her two toned eyes. "Do you wish to hunt together or seperately to cover more ground faster?"

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," Robin chuckled, wagging his tail. He ripped off a chunk of meat and took it to beneath a maple tree, the sweet syrupy scent mixing with the richness of the elk. It felt like it had been such a long time since he had eaten. The goat that he and Jewel had caught a while back had been for the pack's pups. The thought of the pups made him smile, feeling at peace with himself again. In few months time, his own family would be whole again. He watched his wife and daughter talk, and made a note to himself to tell Nuri that Jewel had proven herself as an excellent hunter, and on more than one occasion. He stretched out in the shade and relaxed, sensing that a long summer was soon to be ahead of them.

Ali sat beside her daughter, the two of them eating and talking together. "Well, you're going to have to have a rank some day, my dear. It's a part of being in a pack. And I think you're growing up faster than you realize," she said with a warm smile. No matter what size Jewel grew to, though, Ali would always see the two-toned eyes of her little pup. "After we eat, would you be interested in helping me gather some herbs? When you left for the hunt, we had a lot of newcomers that needed aid. My stocks are running low, and Doctor's were washed out by the storm."

Jewel watched the brothers eat and she took a deep breath tilting her head slightly as her two toned gaze settled upon Cumulus. He had ...in a small way (bigger than she would admit right now) helped her. She didn't realize how lonely she was, how much she missed her brother. She looked away. They could always visit. Right? She had put on a brave face for Cumulus earlier...she must maintain it. Hearing Cirrus's voice she turned and caught Cumulus's eyes. She smiled and gave a slight wag of her tail.

She looked over feeling the familiar heat and smelling that comforting scent of her father. She pinned her ears but didn't look at her father as the three left out of sight. "He isn't my boyfriend." She said softly then turned and nipped her father's shoulder. "Thank you mother." She said and wagged her tail. "A rank would be an accomplishment. But I am happy being packmate." She said softly and then looked over at Cobalt and followed her mother to take a chunk of the sweet rewards of her kill.

Cobalt looked at his relection in the river he had drank from and he thought of how he could get more courage and over come his shyness of talking with others. The dark brown male looked at a granite male walking to the stream too, lapping up some cool water from the spring turning into summer. He could understand that. Continuing on what he was doing at that time, he didn't notice the male walk up to him, just a distance away. Cobalt looked up suddenly when he was talking about the stream quenching his thrist. He didn't respond, too worried on what he would do if the other wolves walked up to him. But the granite wolf asked him what his name was. Cobalt guessed he could tell him his name. "Cobalt," he answered, wondering his. He looked up at the wolf and looked in his eyes for 2 seconds before walking back to where he was before he went to the stream, gnawing on his bone.

PostSubject: Re: Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley   Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley - Page 8 Icon_minitimeWed May 16, 2012 11:44 pm

He had lost himself again, in the abyss of his own mind, not entirely a safe place to be. A moment ago, which was more than a moment now, he had spoken with Ali, and then he found himself away from the den site again. Amongst the trees, simply padding along, oblivious to anything and anyone around. It wouldn't do good to slip away all the time, and it wasn't a something he planned to make a habit out of. There had been a lot on his mind before coming to FnI, and he had let those demons build in dark corners, only now was he reflecting on them. Cardinal lifted himself from beneath a thick tree, it's shade providing the coolness he sought. He had spent enough time under it's branches, it was time to get up and interact with the others. Though he enjoyed solitude, Cardinal was much more the social wolf. Only until recently had he slipped away, but he could leave his demons in hiding for a little while longer. The granite male moved into the forest once again, seeking out a cool drink. Slipping through the foliage, he quietly found a stream and lapped some of its cold contents in. Amber hues shifted downstream and spotted a semi familiar face, a young'un that he recalled seeing near Ali before. He moved slowly and calmly, not wanting to startle the little one. "Quenches your thirst pretty good, doesn't it?" Cardinal let his lyrics fall from a distance, stopping a few paw lengths away, the boy seemed a bit skittish. "What's your name, boy?" The large male lowered himself a bit, so that Cobalt wouldn't have to crane his neck so much.

Elysia had lost her playmate, even though she had never really gotten to play with her. The young fem pouted silently, sitting on her haunches quickly after. It didn't last long though, as her small hues watched the adults move off in opposite directions. It possibly meant adventure, but at the moment she felt a crushing fear. Not yet used to being alone, half of her wanted to run to the den, the other to dash into the forest. The better choice was the den, but instead Ely stood and looked around. Eventually the calls of others reached her tiny auds, and she bounded in the direction of the adults. Though there were many, her attention immediately fell on her father. All else could've possibly never existed, and the tiny fae bounded forward with immense joy. She barked as loud as she could for him, and she continued to run straight for the his pillars, bumping into them in an attempt to stop.

Cobalt looked up at Cirrus and Cumulus. They were eating before they...leave. That made him more nervous. Cirrus spoke to Cobalt, telling him that his father had died and was leaving to go to his home pack. Now, Cobalt knew why and understanded. But when he was going respond, they were leaving. He whispered to himself," Bye." But he knew that both of them didn't hear. He continued to gnaw on the bone he was before. Though he had looked out the corner of his eye when Ali gave him a smile. But for now, he stay here. It wasn't because he was too shy of other wolves, it was that he always thought that he wouldn't fit in. Never ever. A thought of leaving, starting in the lone lands washed over him. He would think about it as he learned more about this pack and everything about it. He stood to walk over to the others, but layed down quckly, still thinking he didn't fit in with the wolves in this pack. He walked away from the wolves to the nearest stream and lapped some water in his dry mouth.

"Yes!" Cumulus barked, ecstatic for Nuri's approval, and bounced away from the depressing topic of leaving to filling his belly with the meat he and Jewel had so hard-won. Cirrus came near, his golden eyes narrowed. "Remember to chew your food, not swallow it whole," he muttered, to which Cumulus paused, swallowed a chunk of meat, and then began to consume a more reasonable piece. Cumulus found himself full very quickly, and took a step back, his front stained with blood. He sat back on his haunches and waited for his brother to finish, all the while watching Jewel.

Cirrus took his time eating, as if postponing their departure. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Cobalt, gnawing at a bone with unneeded fervor. He knew how upsetting it was to have someone who helped you suddenly leave, but he knew that things would resolve in time... as did everything. When he was finished, instead of joining Cumulus right away, he approached Cobalt, but kept his distance. He didn't know how the wolf would react. "I am very sorry to be leaving you, Cobalt... But my father has passed, and my home pack needs me now more than ever. I will try to visit when I can. Everyone here is quite kind, and I know that you will do well in Tirisfal. I came to say goodbye, and that is all," he said with a dip of his head. It would have been rude of him to leave without explanation.

He returned to Cumulus, looking into his sky-blue eyes. "Ready to go?" he asked. Cumulus paused, searching for Jewel's two-toned eyes one final time, and then nodded his head. He couldn't bring himself to speak. He didn't want to leave, there was something here for him, something that he couldn't find back home... but he did not make the laws of the land. Cirrus turned northwards for the border and Cumulus followed, hesitant in his gait, casting a look over his shoulder at the wolves he was leaving behind. How he so hoped that they would be able to visit...

Meanwhile, Robin picked up a hefty chunk of meat for himself and settled beside his daughter. "This is quite the kill you and your boyfriend brought in," he said with a comical grin. Ali selected a smaller piece, and came on the other side of her. "We're very proud of you, dear. When Nuri has the time, perhaps he will be able to give you a rank," she said, curled tail wagging. She looked over her shoulder at Cobalt, who had distanced himself from the rest of the pack. She didn't know if it was out of personal preference, or if he was just plain shy. She gave him a soft smile of encouragement; one that said he could join in any time he liked. She then turned to the meat before her and dug in, her hungry belly becoming warm with the sweet, sweet meat.

OOC: So. Cumulus, Cirrus, and Nimbus are officially out of the picture. Gone. No longer played, unless I feel like it. Woohoo!

As Eruo and Akuma follow Nuri, Eruo kept an eye on her adoptive father. When moving at such a fast pace, she knew he had a harder time sensing where things are. She ran ahead of him, occasionally making almost silent sounds for him to follow. She made sure to guide him around things he never could sense, such as plants and rocks and the such. Soon they arrived at the dens, where wolves were gathered around the food. Nuri spoke, and both Eruo and Akuma stepped forward to begin to eat.

Faramir has spoken, but Doctor had been too busy to respond. Had he spoken, that garlic would really be tasted. Robin spoke to the newcomers, and Nuri picked up when Robin left, and soon enough, everyone except for himself, Crescent, and Faramir were left.

Spitting the garlic out of his mouth, he said, "Your friend will be fine. Just some scratches that are already healing. No strenuous work for a while until those injuries are better healed." Lowering his head to look directly at Crescent, he spoke, "I won't care if a horde of wolves are attacking the pack within the next two nights, but you will not participate in fights, hunts, or the like. You'll reopen your injuries if you make a mistake, and while I can patch you up again, we lost our stash of herbs. While I can still heal most anything without herbs, you'll be hurting without them. You can participate in strenuous activities when you're better healed," and with an empty laugh, he added, "It wouldn't be the first time I stopped an army of wolves. For now, I'll allow for anything that only requires walking." It wouldn't be the first time, that was true, but the only thing on the mind of those wolves, so long ago, were to destroy and brainwash the powerful ones. If they actually had varying thoughts, or even acted like individual wolves, it might have been a different story.

He looked at the garlic. Pity it'll start to dry soon, but he could still keep it for a while, just in case anything else happened any time soon. "If you both are up for walking, we can return and get some food," he offered. He wasn't worried about Crescent turning on the pack, although he did hold it as a slight possibility. For now, the wolf was injured and would be weaker. Doctor tilted his head, staring at the garlic he soon intended to pick up while waiting for a response.

Assessing the situation it appeared as if Doctor and Robin had everything under control. Two wolves approached them then, Robin leading the discussion. They sought to joint he pack and Nuri's smiled, though it was a weary one. With dark there is light in everything in the world. Looking at Doctor he nodded towards him assured that he could handle the injured. He knew that the hunt was going on and most likely done by now. Looking at the two newcomers (Akuma, Eruo) than to Robin he nodded again. "Right, you two are welcome here, you may follow me back to the dens. There should be something to eat when we arrive. I'm Nuri by the way" And without delay he sauntered off into the forest making a brisk pace back to the dens. He saw that quite a few wolves had gathered there and where probably waiting for his permission to eat. Clearing his throat to catch attention he looked around and smiled. "Don't wait on tradition, everyone dig in. I know you're hungry." He knew as soon as they heard that they would all commence to dig in and Nuri would watch happily from the sideline for the moment.

Cobalt stopped showing Ali that he could make it to the food without her support by leaning when Cirrus started up the hill. He walked away from them so that they could talk in private without him near them. But his ears had heard that Cirrus and his brother Cumulus was leaving very soon. Not. Good. Cobalt was heartbroken by that. Cirrus was the first wolf he met at Tirisfal Valley. Without him, he couldn't have lived very long after that. But before he could walk back and ask why, he had come to the food. Cobalt then grabbed a piece and layed down to eat. Why does he have to leave? Why?, he thought.

Jewel would watch Cumulus as his head lowered but a smile crossed his lips. She chuckled. "You are right I probably could visit you one of these days after things settle." She said glancing toward her mother and father who were sitting close and whispering near one another. She flicked her ears back slightly. She missed Robbie her brother. The place just wasn't the same without him and she wondered just why he ran away.

Cumulus' next words drew her attention again. "Thanks Cumulus. You are a good friend too. I will never forget hauling that elk up the hill with you. I couldn't have done it without you." She praised and blinked her two tone eyes at him before licking her pink nose. "But there is no worry to forget. I am sure we will cross paths again someday in the future." Her white tail gave a soft sweep.

With his words of food she nodded. "Yes...I know how you feel." She said hearing then her stomach growling with want of the flesh they worked so hard to obtain. "Something warm on the belly would be nice."

Thinking on Cumulus leaving brought a bit of sadness to Jewel's heart. She didn't realize how much she longed for company ...company her own age that seemed to respect her.

It appeared that Nuri's attention was still on Doctor and the wounded wolf at hand. As not to bother the Alpha, Robin turned and smiled at the Akuma and Eruo. "You could wait here for his reply, if you would like. I see that your travelers, and my nose tells me they've just brought back the meat from the hunt. I extend my welcome and invite you to join us for dinner," Robin said, his formal tongue slipping in again alongside his lax, casual form. "You can follow me or wait, the choice is up to you. I am headed off for now, seeing as my business is done here." He nodded his dial at Nuri and Doctor, and then loped back into the heart of the lands, stomach rumbling. He wondered what sort of kill Jewel and the young wolf had brought back - hopefully, nothing that had gotten them injured. He raced to the High Dens, eager to see his wife and tell her of all the things that had been on his mind recently. He wondered what Jewel would say, or even Robbie, if he was out there, somewhere...

He skidded to a halt right alongside his wife. He licked Ali's face and she wagged her curled tail in greeting, nuzzling him on the muzzle. "So, what did I miss?" he asked, and maroon gaze turned to the chunks of elk, just waiting to be feasted upon. Of course, none could eat until Nuri took the first bite. He spotted his daughter and Cumulus and opened his mouth to talk to them, when Ali nudged him in the side. "Cumulus' father just passed. Cumulus and Cirrus will be leaving Tirisfal. Nimbus has left already," she said softly, for Cirrus was still closeby. Robin's mouth closed and his ears folded. "Oh. I guess I'll have to congratulate them another time," he replied. Ali nodded, and pressed her shoulder into his. "What was it you wanted to talk about?" she asked.

Now, a rather playful smirk pulled at Robin's lips. He considered saying his words out in the open, but chose to lean over and whisper them instead in his wife's ear. Ali paused, looking down at her feet, thinking about what he had told her... But then looked into his dark, crimson eyes and nodded. "We'll have to wait for the right season, you know," she said, a giggle bubbling in her throat, but she managed to hold it back. Robin nodded. "Of course. It's just something I thought would do well for us, and with plenty of time to think about."

Meanwhile, Cumulus sat back on his haunches and hung his head, but smiled. "Yeah... You're right. We don't live very far at all. Maybe you can even visit me some day," he said, sky-blue eyes sparkling with a new happiness. "And I won't forget you, Jewel. You're a great friend." He wanted to say more, but it was as if his words were caught in his throat. He had only gotten to know Jewel in such a short span of time, and he couldn't figure out why he felt so strongly for her just now. Regardless, she was a fae that he would commit to memory, no matter how old he grew or how many other females he met. Feeling the need to move on from the subject, despite the heavy feeling in his chest, he looked at their kill. "Man, when's the Alpha going to get here so I can have something to eat?" he groaned, stomach still empty and growling. He secretly wanted Nuri to take his time, though... The longer they had to wait, the longer he had time to spend with Jewel...

Jewel would frown and her ears folded back. She sat silently for a few long moments and then her ears returned to their natural upright position. A soft breath and a soft smile would come to her features. This young male was growing on her...and he was a friend. A friend that replaced her lost brothers. Someone of her age...a kindred spirit...and perhaps something a bit more.

"Do not be sorry Cumulus.." She said gently. "I am glad to have gotten to know you...even if it was for a short time." Her two toned eyes blinked gently. "And I am sure...once things settle down. Well I am sure we could visit sometime." She suggested. It was going to be lonley around here without him around....she thought. She would be alone again.

"Where you live cannot be too far if you came here right?" Her voice tried to sound upbeat but she felt a deep dissapointment all the way to her middle. Her tail wagged as to not betray her thoughts.

Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley - Page 8 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley   Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley - Page 8 Icon_minitimeSat Mar 31, 2012 2:03 pm

Cumulus released a heavy sigh. Suddenly, he wasn't hungry anymore. Instead of an empty stomach, it felt as if there were a heavy stone in it. He glanced at Jewel, his ears folded. "No, everything isn't all right," he replied, unable to look at her. Though she was pretty and made his heart feel warm, he knew that soon, she would become painful to look at. "Cirrus is the heir to my father's pack... And we found out my father just passed away. We have to return home, for the safety of our kingdom... And that means I'm going to have to leave you." It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair whatsoever. He felt as though they had just arrived in Tirisfal, and now they were going to have to leave. And asking Cirrus if he could stay was out of the question - he was an heir as well, and family stuck together. "I'm sorry, Jewel. If I had known that this would have happened, I... I probably wouldn't have come, to save you the trouble of getting to know me."

Cirrus watched the scene between Cumulus and Jewel unfold. He knew he shouldn't have ventured so far from the Billows, and yet, he knew that all of them had needed a breath of fresh air. And now it was time to return home. The decision he had made weighed on his mind and nibbled on regret in his heart. Would he be like this when he took his father's place as well? The burden was heavy, but he continued to tell himself he could handle it. He looked uphill to where Ali and Cobalt were, and it brought a small smile to his face to see that Cobalt was recovering. Cobalt, like Cumulus, was a young wolf that he knew would grow up to be a fine and proud member of the pack. It appeared that Cobalt didn't need any help getting to the food, and Ali descended the hill, heading for her daughter.

"Ali," Cirrus called, grabbing the husky's attention. An irritated look crossed her face, but she loped towards Cirrus regardless. "My apologies for shouting, Mrs. Ali... But your daughter and my brother are in an important conversation, one I think they'd like some privacy to."

"Oh," Ali said in surprise, her eyebrows shooting up. "I can see that the hunt went well, but I didn't expect it to go that well, if you catch my drift."

"It's actually some unfortunate news, you see... News that neither myself or Cumulus is too thrilled about. I am the heir to my father's pack at home - my real home, in the mountains, and we've received word that he has just passed. Nimbus has already left to tell the pack of mine and Cumulus' return. We are going to stay here long enough to eat, but then, we must go."

"Oh," Ali said again, but more in a downtone. "I am very sorry for your loss, Cirrus... I know what it is like to lose someone of your blood. But, Tirisfal will remember you and your brothers' contribution to the pack, short as it was. Though Nuri is not around, I am certain he would welcome you back. You are some of the purest wolves we've had visit in a very long time."

A genuine smile broke out on Cirrus' face. "You sure have a way with words, Ali. Your husband is a very lucky man to have such a kind and understanding lady."

Ali blushed beneath her fur. She couldn't help but smile at the compliment, and turned her head in the direction Robin had gone. It was taking him a considerable while to return, along with Nuri and the others. A slight worry creased her brow, but she knew that the situation with the dark wolves had been taken care of by now. And Robin wasn't hurt. A part of her was still angry at him for the way he had torn off to fight the wolves without thinking, but of course, she was a forgiving fae. She knew that he wanted to have a talk sometime soon about something quite serious, and she could only wonder as to what that talk was...

Cobalt looked at his broken paw as he nursed it and ate the rest of the herbs. The pain was going away rather quickly and made him feel happy. Cirrus had left for his brother Cumulus as he howled a while ago. It must have been a important issue, but he wouldn't ask Cirrus when he got back. Still, the thought was in his mind when Ali broke his thinking. She ask Cobalt if he needed help to go down the hill and that they can get some food together. He looked up and replyed," Um. No, I'm fine. And,sure. I really would like some food." He stood with his paw raised and walked around abit to show he was fine.

Corset grinned, sticking her nose to the ground, then beginning to go in a circle, then in swirls. Suddenly she smelled the fresh scent of water and took off at a run. She had noticed that Serenity had been distracted, and hoped he wouldn’t catch up. She stumbled over a stick, recovered, jumped over another, and skidded to a stop besides a lake. Her tail wagged and she yipped happily, having found a water source relatively nearby. She turned her head, scanning the area to see if she had beaten Serenity, or if he had beaten her.

Serenity smiled down at his adopted daughter. "Well, firstly, we must decide what section to scout. Put your nose to the ground, when you smell water go towards it. Last one there is a rotten badger" He smiled and waited for her to do as she was told. He felt like a kid again, having a pup, teacher her things, showing her where she would need to go, what they would need to find. Cobwebs were a big one, and he knew, with the bug flying around the water, spiders would nestle their nest there. Moss, was a good plunger, but then, he didn't know if these wolves used the same things he had seen before in his previous pack, before his... His mind wandered to his mother, how she was deceased now, how he had helped Damean's pack, whom was deceased now because of Evander. What a joy life had made for him ever since he had come to Fire and Ice. Not really, but he could now enjoy something, his body, pure and never tainted, call it a fault, he hadn't been allowed to fall in love before...

Jewel panted and licked the own blood from her jaws and wagged her tail at Cumulus's comment. "We did." She agreed and blinked her two toned eyes at him her thoughts didn't get to dwell on that thought much longer when Cirrus broke from the brush and would sit between herself and cumulus. Her ears flicked forward and she blinked tilting her head for a moment.

It seemed the brother's needed a word. She had been taught manners...so she stood and would move to the nearest elk leg and would gnaw. Every once in a while she would glance over her shoulder, twitching her pink nose and looking curiously at Cumulus. She saw his face fall...something was wrong. His ears lowered and his brother moved out of the way and she caught his eyes. Stopping in the middle of a bite she sat up and licked her lips.

Padding back over toward him she tilted her head. "Cumulus?" She asked glancing in the direction his brother had went. "Is everything alright?"

PostSubject: Re: Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley   Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley - Page 8 Icon_minitimeThu Mar 22, 2012 4:35 pm

Within half an hour or so, Cumulus was able to bring back the bulk of the meat with Jewel. He brought it to the base of the hills, right below the high dens, for carrying it had been work enough. He licked the juices dripping from his maw and forced himself to sit back on his haunches, their job completed and his stomach growling louder than a bear in heat. He knew they would all have to wait for the Alpha to approach and take the first bite before anything else. He grinned, his tail wagging behind him, and he turned to his companion. "I think we make a good team," he said, his heart fluttering. Hopefully, there would be more times like this. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a silvery form come loping out of the woods. He recognized it as his eldest brother, Cirrus. "Hey, nice to see you."

"Cumulus," Cirrus said, his name a statement. He walked up next to Cumulus, slightly between him and Jewel, but not enough to rude - just enough to hold a fairly private conversation. "I know you're hungry, but... I have news. Important news."

Cumulus' face fell. "What is it?"

"Father is... gone. I know you've gotten comfortable here, and so have I, but... We need to go home. To our real home, in the mountains. I'm so very sorry," Cirrus replied, his auds falling. "Nimbus has already left. We will leave after we have eaten and informed Nuri."

"Oh," Cumulus lowered his head. Cirrus then moved out of the way, as if knowing that some sort of bond had happened between the young wolf and Jewel. Cumulus glanced at her. What would she think?

Ali reached the crest of the hill. She caught Serenity's words and smiled. "Thank you very much, Serenity. Just gather as much as you can, this is the best growing season for all herbs," she said, her curled tail wagging. She turned to Cardinal, who was still standing. She opened her mouth to say more, when a pair of wolves emerged from the forest, bringing with them the legs of a large elk. The smell of meat drifted into her nares, but more importantly, the smell of her daughter. She was safe. She shook her head and turned back to Cardinal, smiling. "If you're still interested in gathering herbs, you are by all means welcome, Cardinal. As I said, Doctor's stash was flooded out by the storm. The more we have, the better. Before anything else, though, I think it would be a good idea to have some dinner," she said, her stomach rumbling. She looked over her shoulder at Namaria in the cave, and made a mental note to bring a chunk back to her, though she wasn't sure if the fem would be able to eat it. She turned to her other patient, Cobalt, who was still nursing his broken paw.

"Do you need help going down the hill, Cobalt?" she asked, coming to his side. By now, the herbs should be kicking in, lessening the pain he felt, but until he got a splint, it would likely still be there. She offered him her shoulder. "I can help you, and we can get some food together. After that, I'll be able to bandage your paw. Then you'll be good as new."

Corset looked at Ali and Serenity uncertainly, as she hadn’t been taught about herbs and such things. She licked Serenity on the black nose at the end of his muzzle as well. “Ok Serenity.” She laughed quietly. “Um, good bye Elysia.” She waved her paw at the young she pup. Her head tilted at the smell of blood and she turned her head, smelling the scent coming off the sort of nearby Cumulus and Jewel. She walked up to Serenity. “So where do we go first?” She gave him those puppy dog eyes that mean- I’m bored. Can we go there fast? Maybe race?-

Jewel nodded and then fell into action tearing their victims flesh with pristine ivories. She too worked on a leg but she heard the soft thud of dead meat hitting the ground. Looking up with those two toned eyes she blinked and wagged her tail looking at Cumulus. "Well done." She praised him and then stood from her job to aid him in the trip with the first quarter. His words made sense and it was a very good idea.

"Good idea." She added and then would add her teeth to his gripping the sweet flesh of the elk. Mouth full unable to speak now she would tug along side the young white male. His coat was stained with blood, her own a smaller ruby twin to his.

With both of them working it didn't take them long to crest the bank and head with the first leg to the rest of the pack.
