Blade snorted, just able to restrain himself... for now, trying to keep his mind clear and thinking. Legend would have to do a better job at riling him up, but... They were in the lands of Midnight Meadows, where the pup should be well-protected with Cinder's own, but he'd play along with the conversation, if only for a little bit. "There's another pack in these lands, and they don't seem happy to see you, either. You're right in saying no one will come back from the dead if you were to be slaughtered, but it will stop one more wolf who has the intention of harming anyone of the two packs currently here." He nearly rolled his eyes, not bothering to comment about making a scratch. It meant nothing... If he had broken a bone on the other hand... He would have smirked, knowing the younger wolf needed to do his homework before spouting out some of the nonsense he had, but didn't want to give that twisted mind any more ammunition against him. Instead, he growled, body tense, and opened his jaws to say, anger laced in his voice, "I will never allow you to lay even a paw on Petra."

He allowed a touch of fury and some of the insanity that some dark wolves tended to have to show in his eyes, and he seemed to charge recklessly at Legend, as if blind with rage and battle lust. His jaws were opened, to crush down on anything they came into contact with. He deliberately left a few 'openings' that an enraged wolf would have, although Legend would be in for a surprise when Blade was able to counter them if he were to react with an attack. He'd probably still get a scrape or two, but nothing as bad as a wolf totally caught unguarded in a reckless charge like this. One thing he prided himself in was being a professional of masking, and displaying fake emotions, and wondered if Legend would take the bait so early in his session of taunts.

During his charge, his mind was in a flurry of thoughts of the possible actions that could occur, never once changing his facial expressions. It took many fights and blood spill to accomplish this, knowing it had been crucial to learn since his body could never develop into that of an actual fighter's. It was a means for him to cope in a fight, like Akiko using her speed when her size fell short, while surprise was his. By doing this, most opponents would underestimate the seemingly disadvantaged, or just overestimate themselves. Blade always desired the latter in his fights, as they were more prone to gaping there in shock for an extended period of time. He had to admit, however, with an opponent like Legend, it was difficult to determine what could happen.

,Wishing on a Shooting Star, :MB: - Page 23 Crow10

Crow listened to the words she had for him, watched the tears one by one. An inkling of pity for hier shone in his eyes, barely noticable save to those who were looking for it. And it wasn't for the state she was in now. No, it was for the woman she could have been, something respectable. Had she not followed the crooked path laid before her, she could have held herself high, had some honor in her name. Perhaps she had never been able to help it, that in itself a shame that deserved the slightest of recognition. His lips pulled tight as he struggled not to turn away from her and just leave her there to cry herself into oblivion. Kill herself for all he cared. But she wanted him to do it. And he was here now... He raised his paws and stepped back just a few inches as her vomit hit the ground. What a wreck. She needed this. She couldn't go on. And it would be a mercy to the children, he now realized. They wouldn't make it through the winter with a mother who didn't want them and a father who was nothing more than a fertilizer.

His eyes pored over her body, viewing the mess of femme that she was. Not so long ago she had been running from him across the border, fearing his threats and now suddenly begging for them. Irony... The dull gold coins finally met her violet ones, and seeing the true plea, the depth of her emotion and struggle, it was all he could do not to give her her final wish. It was a strange thing, giving his enemy what she wanted, but in the end it was what he wanted as well, and what everyone wanted. "You get what you've asked for," he said solemnly, gaze unaverted, "I will make it swift. And Legend will pay for his actions upon you. Consider it an extra present." He sighed and steeled himself. Never had it taken him so long to kill someone. Looking down at his own feet, his hackles began to raise. When his sights rose as well, they landed for a moment on Depression, taking one last good look at her, before settling on her throat. The hellion shot forward, fangs bared, and in a split second were buried there, tasting blood. He clamped down at his kill spot, somewhere breaking even at the windpipe and vein, and held fast.

Legend felt the swish of air and then Blade was before him. Ah yes, trust the lot of them and Blade would come, the rest were near the pup then. Smart, Depression would be killed and his next line of children. It was the movement of Blade that made Legend move to the side stepping away, he wouldn't hurt the brute...yet. He'd want Petra here to see this. Oh...she wasn't here... Oh good.
"Don't be so bold. For killing me wont sate the death of your mate now would it?" his twinkle in his eye and Legend ran at Blade feeling the brute catch his side and rip it a little. "Got me ol' chap. Now. With no pups to carry on your name, if I get you too will it matter? If you die and Petra dies will it be okay then?" Legend stepped back some blood slipped from the cut but his skin was in too much shock to bleed yet and he waited for the brutes next move. "First your alpha, now your mate, then Damean's son, a true son with no family...If he's not killed I'll take him in my court and train him to hate every last one of you. Evander will love it" Legend was pressing, press and press and press...

Depression felt the wind get knocked out of her. Oh god this was it... but he stopped and stated the obvious. "Do you think any woman wants to carry pups against her will?" she was crying now, tears the size of dimes were sliding down her face. "I--I don-t want to do this, I don't want to hurt anymore wolves. Though I haven't, the sight of me is replusive isn't it. And the pups...their his" she felt her stomach turn and she threw up as she turned away from Crow. She hadn't wanted to get any on him. "Forgive me for that" she asked softly, but she didn't know what she was asking forgiveness for. Her body was weak, she hadn't been eating the food Legend had gotten for her, she had hoped starving herself would kill these pups but so far she had grown in size and gained the weight needed. Next she had tried to starve herself of water...it still hadn't worked and before she knew it she had taken a drink and kept drinking, her throat so dry from lack of water and nutrition.

Orbs like her sister Lilith looked up at Crow, a deep purple like shade and she didn't know what else to say... she felt sick with thoughts again and wanted nothing more then to sleep...

,Wishing on a Shooting Star, :MB: - Page 23 Crow10
The alabaster hellion was hot on her trail. Her scent had become latched in his nares, the desire to strike growing ever more present. It burned in his chest and his eyes. And as he ran, her scent grew closer. At a strangely alarming rate. She was running at him. Then the words slipped from her mouth. "Kill me." Before he could stop himself, he felt his full weight slam into her. He grabbed at her scruff when he had the chance and moved to slam her down on the dirt. Crow's eyes stared intensely at her, outraged and confused as he stood over her, refusing to let her get away. Then again if she was serious, it wouldn't be an issue. "What?" He was still in disbelief. "No. I won't off you just like that, Depression." An awkward pause... he sniffed closer to her form. The scent of... "You're pregnant..." He sat back on his haunches, suddenly filled with something akin to regret.

Crow was at an impasse. This woman whom he hated... why did he hate her so? Because she fraternized with Legend? She endangered the life of Cinder's pups. Was against Damean Jager... yes, there was no doubt his conscience was clear of any guilt on that front. He hated her. But she bore children now. And Legend's children beyond that. In his heart, it ached him. Not to kill the witch, but to destroy the innocent whelps she held within. And yet, he had to kill her. For Jabbar, for himself. It would have been just as cruel to make her live with it. The shame of the deed, the pain of childbirth. But he couldn't risk something like this. He could not let Legend's ilk run about the land. On one side they could be nothing like their parents. But the genetics were too strong. Too twisted. Their sick version of darkness would run through the veins of these children whether they could help it or not. And the lands of Fire and Ice could noght handle such an onslaught as the likes of this again. 'Forget the pups. Forget them,' He shut his eyes tightly, breathed deeply, cut them out of the picture. When they reopened they stared down at Depression, cold, unfeeling. He could do this now. His right paw pressed to her throat, claws digging into the skin. "This is what you want?" He made it slow so she couldn't breathe. He wouldn't kill her until she said yes. "You want me to take your miserable life?" And if he didn't do it the others would. And she would find no mercy from them.

Balthier looked at Rodion when he briefly appeared again. Turning around, he barked to Varaak, "Go follow Fran. Take Braeden with you. Both of you will be better off if you stay with the wolves who don't fight." "You're injured, too, brother." Varaak said as he gave Balthier a sharp look. "And don't give me any of those excuses you always did. We have an alpha to follow now, so don't bother."

Balthier's eyes narrowed just slightly, and realized his brother had grown up a bit. "Ok. We'll both stay behind. Get Braeden." He looked around, making his decision. He moved to Tom, and nosed his way under the body, knowing this method would put less strain on his injuries. Then he moved off to a rather large tree, and lowered himself to the ground, allowing Tom's body to gently fall against the trunk, safer in case wolves ran this way. Morgan would notice where Tom had been moved and who moved him when he came back. Something glittered from his peripheral vision, and he paused before picking up the knife he had pilfered from the hunter. Holding onto it wouldn't be a bad idea for now...

Varaak walked to Braeden and said, "Follow, back to pack." He watched to see if Braeden would understand these words, noticing his brother starting to walk towards Cinder's den, but in a slow pace so the other two could catch up. It was clear the older wolf was trying to get them to move.

Fran returned to where Cinder's den was, ready to stay nearby in case anyone needed anything. She noted the those in Jabbar who were present, and saw Exodus speaking with them until they heard a howl. She recognized this wolf, and noticed how angered the wolves were. The dark wolves seemed to hate him as much as everyone here. Silently, she trotted closer to the den, standing in front of it, gently calling out to Cinder and Link, "I'm going to stay in front of the den the whole time. You'll have time to react if someone tries to get past me." She was hoping Link would stay inside, since there seemed to be enough wolves in the pack to fend off the intruders.

Blade turned his head to Exodus as she answered one of his questions. Then a howl sounded. It carried a voice that was imprinted into his memory. He violently turned around, growling with a fury of poison in his words, "That little... He's dead this time." Without another word, he ran off, ignoring the scents of the other wolves with the traitor, hoping everyone would divide themselves up between the intruders. He didn't need the alpha of these lands to offer the chance to attack, as he ran right past him. His mind was stimulated, a wave of fury for everything Legend had done. He wanted this to be the day Legend would fall to never rise again.

His scent was clear, telling him where Legend waited. He wasn't a warrior, but a strategist running on adrenaline would be quite a match for most wolves. He tried to clear his mind so the fury that lead many wolves to mistakes... their own destruction, wouldn't affect him. Blade came to a stop at the border, his expression eerily calm, as he said, "We made a mistake in banishing you..." the implied we should have killed you instead was quite clear in his tone as he darted forward, not leaving Legend too much time to react to his words or attack. His mind was focused, and he hoped that Legend hadn't become so skilled a speaker that he could make even Blade angered during a fight, or else Legend would almost surely win.

Legend heard the return song and let a soft humble smile cross his features. His head came back and he tempted this 'king' the one who let darkness in his home. Wolves he shouldn't trust walked here. Legend could lie until they took his throat... His body was shaking with excitment when a sound made him turn and Deadly came out from the brush. His eyes were alight with a red flame and he ran past Legend. His sketchy frame made him quick and nimble. That one white wench was here this would set her off. He hope Deadly Dance would join in this fun and he laughed as he came into the gathering area of where the scent of birth and Damean Jr lingered. "oh!!! Puppies!!! I love killing puppies but all I want is Damean jr. One way or another huh guys." by the end of his sentence he was back running through the woods making a hectic trail for them all to follow.

Legend stayed where he was but he worried more for his little love slave. Depression had done what she was told and ran now full speed at Crow. Her body was tense waiting for him to do as he wanted. "kill me please. Save me" she begged for death. She was pregnant with legends pups. She could feel them inside her. She could see her body change and she wanted nothing more then to die right here and now... Oh Crow... Sweet sweet crow he had injured legend so bad before... He could kill her. Please... She begged aloud as she ran forward. Her head was even tilted so he'd kill her... She wanted this right...

Rodion's head snapped up at the sound of the howl, and a fierce snarl unlike any he had yet unleashed came from between his jaws. He recognized that cursed howl, and looked to Zelda briefly, taking in any reaction she had. His eyes flashed and in a moment he was up and racing towards Morgan. He reached him swiftly. "Take to the borders. Now." The roan bru gave a curt nod and was off to do his duty. If there were any other intruders, he would hopefully catch them. As he turned to leave, he saw the intimidating form of Crow coming with a furious look on his face. Both their spines were bristling with rage.
"I can see you and I have dealt with the likes of Legend before," He said warily to the white hessian.
"Unfortunately. But I have other problems here. Where there is Legend, a witch called Depression follows. I'll work in tandem with your other guardian and hunt her down. I'll leave Legend to you and Link... if you choose to risk it on the border." They both lifted their heads to see a black streak shoot across the sky. The bird had spotted Depression from above and was hot on her trail.
Crow looked to the alphen. "She's this way." He took off, intent on finding the fatale... this time with killer jaws. There was no Damean to tell him when to stop now.

As the bru moved out of sight, the king threw his head back and sent up a powerful, angry flare of a howl. He was responding to Legend, a one time warning to move away from the lands and go back to where he came from. As the call ended he moved in the wretched hellion's direction. If he was still there by the time he made it to the border, he would have more than a limp to deal with by the time this pack was done with him. He stopped for a moment where the the other Jabbar wolves had gathered, face a picture of struggling, bottled hatred, trying to keep it back in the face of those he favored. "If you hold any quarrel with this scum, feel free to go take care of him before I get there."

Cinder

Silver eyes snapped wide open hearing the song drift down into the den she looked at Link in horror. Lies came honey sweet thick with promise of love...calling to her mate reminding him the pups weren't his...reminding her of the rape. She gasped and pinned her ears and trembled. There was a fear that washed over her and then anger...great anger. She wondered if Legend would try to come into the lands. She whined softly and looked at her mate, Link, shame filling her again as Legend drugged up the memories that haunted her dreams even now at night. She had this sneaking suspicion that he was trying to draw them to go after him. "Don't leave me..' She looked at Link begging him softly. "Please!" She turned and looked at the pups shifting slightly at the howl and then snuggling back together.

This would get a rise out of them for sure. Depression had gotten into her mental zone and crept into the lands. Legend stayed on the outside of the boarder and lifted his head and howled to Cinder. His song was full of intense even if false love. He called to her and news of his pups. He called to Link wondering if the brute liked fathering pups that were not his own. He called in about the memory of rape to Cinder. Legend called for his death in many other forms. Specially calling in about the new planned death of Damean Jr. by Evander someday soon...

Exodus had settled near Akiko and listened to Blade. "he's named after Damean. Poor guy but he'll be okay here. There are so many friends here..." she leaned into Landen and felt him tense. "what's wrong?" but then she heard it. "Legend! What is he doing here!" she stood hearing all his truths in one howl and she whined softly. "What am I supposed to do..." she was speaking out loud half of her was wanting to stay but Fran was more in depth with healing and the pups could use her more... Or what if wolves go to kill him and go get hurt... What if this was an ambush? Panic was sick in her mind and she felt sick while Landen began to growl deep from within his chest...

Cinder

Cinder sighed feeling Link curl around her and sighed. She pressed her small form closer to him in her rest and then her nose twitched and her eyes flitted open. "Zelda is out there.." she said sofftly to Link sure he already smelled his sister. "And Rodion as well." She sighed softly. Her newly aqquired pup had finished nursing and now the two pups...one dark..one light...lay there curled around eachother. She lifted her weary head and leaned on Link's shoulder, silver eyes fighting sleep. Birthing life was not an easy task.

The alphen gave his full attention as Landen approached, responding with a nod to his condolences, and a silent focus as he mentioned the evil that stirred within Jabbar. It made him uneasy, but there would be time for such things in the future. Beyond this, there were happier things to occur. He seemed to apologize for the presence of the other Jabbar wolves. "They will be no problem," he responded curtly, "They are welcome here. I know full well how much the Jagers cared for their packmates. And they've been polite enough so far." The last of their dealings occurred, and the bru moved off to his fellow packmates.

Rodion felt his weight shift as he looked between the wolves about him. He had pulled his ears back at Balthier saying he could have done more, but responded with nothing. It was of no use sometimes when a wolf got these things stuck in his head. But he knew the bru had meant well, and held him in high regard despite this. The more he thought about it, there wasn't anyone he didn't hold high favor with. This was a proud pack, and he was proud to be its leader. His attentions turned to Morgan and Zelda, and he couldn't hold back the smile from his maw at this news. It was quite the funny thing to hear of this old man who had pined so comically after his best friend. He wished he could have been around to see it. He felt a strange feeling flutter in his chest for a moment, and pushed it down, all of a sudden unaware of where it had come from or what provoked it. Instead, he moved closer to Zelda. "Perhaps you should stay with me tonight. I know this turn of mood is all well and good, but I know you, friend, and how you like to think too much when you're alone." He gave her a friendly nudge. "If you'd accept my offer, I'd be very much obliged. And besides, with our allies here," he looked in their direction briefly, "We'll be needing the space."

He was suddenly caught by Fran's approach, and his auds immediately perked with anxious excitement. The words revealing the newest daughter of Midnight Meadows was a song to his ear, and he was happy to know that the worst of Cinder's feminine ordeal was over. Even if the femme before him would have shared the news about the dead pups, he would have at least remained optimistic for Cinder. Miscarriages happened. In this world, some things were just not meant to be. And on the bright side of things, those children who never breathed life would never have to face the cruelties of this world. At the end of the short announcement, he spoke once more. "Thank you, Fran. I trust you and Exodus will be keeping a watchful eye on the new family," he smiled, noting her healing skills. The alphen turned to Morgan, who hadn't moved far from his fallen comrade. "I will return to help you lay him to rest," he said sincerely. Morgan shook his head. "No, I can handle this on my own." Rodion smiled kindly to him. "Please. You only have to consider me a silent, helpful shadow. I won't interrupt one bit upon your personal moment." The younger bru conceded. "If you insist. I'll be here when you come back. Do send Cinder my congratulations."

He motioned to Zelda with a sideways sort of nod between her and Cinder's den, noting that the previous subject had ended. "Shall we?" His large pads took off at a trot, heading swiftly for the den. When he reached it, he noticed Exodus was already present, and it seemed many wolves had been going in and out. Undoubtedly Cinder was resting, and suddenly the bru was hesitant to interrupt. He rested a short distance away, content to wait or even pass on word when someone else went to visit Link and the new mother. No doubt the couple would scent him outside the den, and Zelda even more so than himself. The thought of children roaming the lands, bringing some sort of cheer to this place... it was a comfort and an exciting idea. It made him feel rather broody, wanting to be the father type and all. It made him realize what that hole was in those moments where he thought something was missing in his life. A family... it would be a blessing. If it was in the stars, something so wonderful as this would someday be his.

Blade looked at Petra, silently giving her a choice whether to follow him or not. In these lands, he felt a bit better about letting her have some space if she so wished it as long as she wasn't out of his sight of an extended period of time. He had some information to share...

Following Akiko's scent, he found her standing near a den, and noticed Cinder and Exodus were probably inside. He followed his beta's example of staying back a distance, his footsteps making a light noise upon the dirt as so not to startle her, although he was sure that she probably already noticed his presence. He started to report on what he had been spying upon for a few brief moments after Petra had a head start on him, "No one else with friendly intentions will come from Jabbar. Eris is loyal to... him," he was referring to Evander, disgust in his tone, "I caught the scent of a Midnight or two when I left, although I'm not sure if they are the same from before. Zai and Bloodeye seem to be in high favor with Evander, so I'd expect to see some of their tricks if they were to come here." He remembered how sometimes it could be difficult to detect Bloodeye, similar to Eris if they were merely lurking.

He looked towards the den, asking in a lower tone, "Should we keep tabs on Evander's movements, or wait it out for a bit?" There were benefits to both scenarios, depending on how much risk they were willing to bet. He didn't really want any harm to come to these lands, nor Damean and Jaded's pup. Speaking of which, he wasn't sure if the little guy was named yet, and voiced, "has he been named yet?" while nodding his head towards the den, ears drooping a bit in guilt for not being present to hear any naming for the pup... guilt for not being able to protect his parents.

Link looked at his beloved and smiled softly, he could see the weariness all over her form and was pleased when she started to drift off, his name the last thing her lips whispered. Yes, that pleased him indeed. Tucking himself closer to her form he put his head down but this night would find no rest for him for he could smell the pungent odor of the Jabbar wolves and knew them to be close. Despite their apparent alliance with Cinder newly given birth he still felt uneasy. So he laid and listened, his ears swiveling to catch the noises and knew that despite all that happened, he was a very luck wolf. Contentment blossomed in his chest at his makeshift family and a slight smile pulled at the corner of his lips. He prayed the Legend's leg had become gnarled and twisted from his injury to it, or maybe he just died. That would please him well enough too.

One of Akiko's blue eyes opened as Landen approached, twin thorns cupped forward in interest to his news which she knew would regard Cinder. She had given birth, this made her pick up her head and she glanced from the pup to Rawbones then to Exodus who stepped forward to take the pup. A sense of protectiveness ran through her and her fur bristled slightly but Exodus was this pup's blood and Akiko knew the femme had loved her father so she let the move pass unchalleged. Watching the small pup carried away she rose and shook her pelt and trotted after Exodus. She stayed back though when Exodus got to the den. She knew there was some boundaries that were not passed when a femme just gave birth. So she sat and watched playing the silent guardian.

Cinder

Cinder felt Link's kiss on her forehead and she smiled softly at him. Then she watched him as he pressed his nose and kissed both of the pups at her breast. She looked at him and then saw the shaking of his body...laughter? Oh how she wished to hear his voice again...it had been so long...and she still felt a slight guilt for it being gone. She leaned into him and nosed his shoulder. "A name will come later I suppose..." she said softly eyes growing heavy and she rest her head.

As she lay there next to her mate and now pups her thoughts went to Legend. She hoped he never learned of their daughter....never. She was also sorry for Damean and Jaded's deaths...he would never know his son or granddaughter. She licked her lips. "Link..' She said softly in a breath and then drifted...leaving her sentence to her beloved unfinished. Sleep consumed her..weary from birthing a litter of three and weary from having only one survivor.

Zelda nodded her head in agreement with Morgan. It was good to know a little more about Tom, though she wished he had been able to hear it from him. They were indeed his family. Her attention was pulled away as it was announced that Cinder had given birth. Sighing she took once last look at Tom and rising to her feet padded away to stand next to Rodion. Listening to Exodus speak she was happy that everything had gone well though she did not know about the two dead pups. Looking at Balthier, Fran, Varaak and Braeden . She smiled at her family happy that they were all here. She worried after Link and what he was feeling at the moment...

Link lay in the den securely wrapped around Cinder. Exodus came in and asked if a pup of Damean and Jaded's pup. Of course he expected Cinder to take it in but he was worried about the consequences. He licked the top of her head showing his approval and when the pup came into the den he shifted so he could better see both of them. Neither of them his but they were of Cinder's and how could he not love them? Leaning over Cinder he pressed his nose first against her pup then to Jabbar's. Satisfied he topped it off my licking both of them then leaned back as Cinder suggested they name the pup. He shrugged and his body shook a bit with laughter, he wouldn't be much help with the naming, not being able to speak and all.

Cinder

Cinder looked up hearing Exodus's whine and she nosed Link so he would know it was okay. Deep down she felt an urge to growl but suppressed it....old instincts to protect the young. She looked at Exodus and the small dark pup she carried in her mouth and after setting him down her words came about her pup looking like herself and Link. Her ears flicked back and gave Exodus a smile. "Thank you." She said softly and picked up the dark pup who was already crawling toward the scent of her milk. She nudged him to her breast and felt him latch on strongly. She looked at Link and hoped he didn't fault her for this. She looked at her daughter now snuggling closer to Jaded and Damean's whelp. He smelled like Jabbar. It ran through his veins. She watched Exodus leave tears in her eyes and felt her heart go out to her friend. She just lost a father and a mother.

She sighed feeling the second pup draw life giving milk from her and lay back. She looked to Link and her tail wagged slightly. "We should name her." She said looking at him, blinking silver eyes. Yes she was including him. He was the mate of her heart and wanted to include him in this to help him bond with the pup. He must be going through much even to lay beside her right now. She couldn't imagine and felt shame flood her once more. It wasn't fair...her daughter should be their daughter.

Landen came into the area where one dead wolf from their pack lay and the rest gathered... "I'm sorry for your loss... To all of you." he bowed his head for a moment looking to Fran then the others. "I'm hoping exodus and the other brute made it back with blade and Petra?" Landen looked at each wolf for a moment before turning.
"I'm sorry." he said sharply taking a step back. "it is time for you all to grieve. I'm going to go talk to the wolves of Jabbar. Rodion there are things happening again. Evander is at a high in his mastery rule and is going to cause many problems on behalf of us all I thank you, you and all of your pack. I fear for Cinder and Link... I know if Cinder accepts Damean there will be all
action watching on the den from Rawbones, Crow, and Akiko. I'm sorry to you all for this problem too... Even if I belong here with Exodus I love them like she does..." his eyes fell... Just like Damean had. Had... Was it really hitting him now that his younger brother was dead?

Exodus turned without a word and dashed back to her darker family. Landen had parted from the Midnight wolves as reality of the situation had caught on and came into the clearing as Exodus did and his heart felt a bit more at ease. She gave him a smile and theb took in the sight of Crow, Blade, and Petra while they gathered... Landen had brought them back. He approached Akiko and gave her a warm smile. "cinder says bring him. But don't take him in the den. Just trust me. But I ask you even if I know it'll already be done to keep
guard around the den in the depths of the trees. I trust Cinder but it's everyone else out from Evander who makes me nervous."

Exodus reache down slowly an softly cuffed the pup in her mouth from Akiko. She could feel the females body heat and felt way to close for her comfort. Akiko scared her and always would. Her mind raced as she quickly walked back to the den and poked her head inside after a whine. Damean struggled in her mouth with the scent if birth... With the scent if a mother who wasn't his own but he knew what that scent ment. Exodus didn't care for the intrusion and she pushed in a bit
more. Her eyes adjusted to the dim light filling around her and she caught sight of the family... "she's beautiful... She looks just like you two..." if that wad too much to share she didn't care. The pup looked nothing like Legend. Not in the slightest bit. Damean looked like Damean though and she felt hot tears well up in her eyes. She backed out after setting her brother down knowing Cinder could do the rest. She came out of the den knowin the others would soon be behind her...

Exodus soon appeared beside her, adding to what she herself hadn't known. Fran had a faint trace of a smile despite the situation, at the news of a daughter. She turned to dash away, towards Rodion, noticing she had beckoned Exodus closer- something that might have been for her ears only.

As she ran, she noticed there were quite a few wolves where Rodion was. Zelda, Balthier, Varaak, Braeden, Tom... and much blood. When she was able to see them, she stopped, socked at the sight on Tom on the ground, clearly no life in the veins. Her head bowed for a brief moment in respect for the brave wolf before she walked forward to the alpha. "Cinder says she has given birth to a daughter."

Balthier turned his head to Fran. "What?" He made a motion, as if to move towards her, but had moved too quickly, turned to sharply for his injuries, and hissed slightly at the protest. He continued, "Are they ok? Nothing went wrong?" Now he wondered how much he had missed, which he probably could have prevented if only he had acted sooner. He looked at Varaak, wondering if his brother knew what was now occurring back with the rest of the pack.

"They're just fine. I haven't seen them, but I heard nothing out of the ordinary," Fran reassured the wolf, but was also addressing the others.

The hessian smiled up at Zelda before deciding it was finally time to rise to his feet. He felt rather pathetic just laying there like that while she spoke to him. It pleased Morgan to see Zelda smile, and to see her comforted by these simple thoughts. It slowly began to occur to him that in all the time he had been here, he had never seen her take an interest in a mate. Well, perhaps she had, and sadly the opportunity had never arisen. Cheekily, he thought to himself of the friendship between her and Rodion and wondered what it would be like if they would ever claim one another. It was a sweet thought, such good friends coming together like that. Then again, a relationship could ruin a friendship... he shook the negative thought from his mind and dwelled on the wonderful, the silly part of it. They would be nice together...

He was snapped out of his ruminating by her important question. "Family?" he responded with his full attention. "None he's ever told me of. He had his old mate, years ago. Suppose they're together now..." he paused for a moment to think of it and continued, "He lived in one of those two-leggers places. A zoo, I believe it was called. He knew other wolves, but he never speaks of it. I assume they were nothing of the sort." He looked to the body, cocking his head gently. "We were his family."

Zelda stood in silence with Morgan until Rodion came over, she appreciated his kind words. He did not know Tom very well and she appreciated his tact in handling the situation. She also appreciated his gentle affection, the support of a pack was like no other. It was this bond that kept them strong. It was this that kept them a family. Her eyes rested on Tom's face, the lines of age upon him but despite the recent heat of the battle she thought he looked rather peaceful. Fenrir surely entertained the valued bru in his woods now. She must be strong now for the pack. The weight of these past months had proved too much and with her brother now interwound with Cinder she had to bear much of it alone, she did not begrudge the couple though. It made her heart happy to them together, her brother suffered so much. Rodion left to speak with Balthier as she would do in a few moments time.

Morgan laughed and her ears perked up as if betrayed by the registed sound. She looked at him tilting her head. Perhaps he had gone mad? But when she looked into his eyes she saw only the love he had for their fallen companion but chose to wander into happier memories. 'Old Tom fancied you, didn't he?' This gave her pause but then a slow smile creeped across her muzzle. "I suppose he did, didn't he?" She turned and looked softly at him. Zelda never had a mate...well, never one of her choosing, and she never really thought about it since then. Even so, looking into herself she knew that sort of relationship never would have existed with the bru but to realize how much he cared for her touched her heart. Eirwyn had left the lands in search of her sister and now she had lost another dear friend. She thought perhaps her own fate was going to catch up to her soon.

Looking back at Morgan she smiled though it did not quite reach her eyes. "Did he have any family?" If anyone knew it would be Morgan.

Cinder

Cinder heard Fran's voice which was then echoed by Exodus. She looked at her lonely whelp and then to Link. It was Damean and Jaded's pup. Damean the one who had spared her and called her friend even with their past. She licked her lips and felt her breath stop for a moment as the thoughts flitted through her head. Exodus was her friend...she would have accepted the pup just on that matter alone. But it also Damean and Jaded's son..and that was another. Plus she was now a mother and she had more than enough milk to spare. She looked at Link again and hoped he wouldn't fault her for this decision.

"Fran.." she called softly. "Tell Rodion Midnight Meadows has a daughter and Exodus..." She paused calling her dear friend closer. "I will care for your brother. Bring him to me." She said softly and then looked to Link. She did this for the child, his dead parents and her friend....and perhaps even a bit for herself. The young that she had lost..however they were created left a bleeding hole in her heart. Perhaps this young orphan would help ease the pain.

She looked to Link and leaned over and touched her nose to his mug. Her words silent but her eyes asking for forgiveness once more. For the rape, the pup that was supposed to be his, and now the pup of a former enemy would be nursing at her breast. She sighed softly and her daughter squrimed and grumbled.

Exodus had watched Link go into the den and come out shortly with two dark whelps. Dead. Good. So that ment what, how many were left? She didn't have to care for so many so this was nice... Legend would be battered with this part, he gave her some unstrong love...ha, he'd be called a weaklink for this. Then she was standing as Fran came new and panic rose into her system. She needed to say who the pup belonged to. She came over and poked her head near Fran "Cinder I'm sorry, but I'm going to push this on you. Link. I'm sorry as well. Forgive me but he's family. It's Damean and Jaded's pup... Cinder there is alot going on right now and this is their last option. I wont let them come near the den I promise you both they can lurk close by but you're a mother like anyone else...please?" She wanted to strike guilt and responsibility into the female. Damean had granted her life and safety...he did that for everyone... her father...her dead father... why was he such a saint...

Fran heard Cinder's response, and said, "Sorry for the disturbance, but the Jabbar wolves here are with a pup. None of them are his parents, and... I think they'll soon ask permission if they can bring the pup to you to take care of... it doesn't look like he's been fed since they left... If you agree, but feel uncomfortable, I can bring the pup here... although they seem very attached, so surely one of them will follow me." She paused before adding, "and Rodion wanted to know any news about the birth. Otherwise, I'll tell him you want to rest first." She was a bit nervous with so many wolves from a different pack. Cinder seemed to know them, as well as Exodus, so she felt a bit reassured. Plus, they didn't have the feel of a typical dark wolf.

Cinder

Cinder closed her silver eyes gently and sighed feeling her pup slow it's nursing and drift into warm milk filled sleep. A voice came to her ears then and she lifted her head and looked to Link. It was Fran's voice. "Yes?" she called her voice soft and tired but calm. "What is it Fran?" She asked and then looked at her mate and child and kissed the pup on the head gently. ....it's not your fault...Cinder thought to the pup.

Solemn throughout the whole procession even when Crow barreled through the bushes. Her mind was cut off, cold calculating. Rodion was gone, led off by Zelda, a fem she was familiar with. Thus it was the wolves of Jabbar, they had left their land willingly, Evander didn't even have to drive them out. She mentally snorted in disgust of the actions that seemed like cowardice. She lay like a alabaster sphinx next to the tiny parcel that was Damean's and Jaded's babe. Anger would come later, anger would come when she sunk her fangs into the traitorous blood breaking filth that now resided in Jabbar. Her home as long as most anywhere. Rawbones, he exceeded her in age so right now it was not bothering her that he was holding position above her rank, besides she knew he was the only one who could compare with the intense loyalty she felt. Perhaps even Blade and Petra but then again Akiko always had a different mindset.

Evander would die, whether by their faction or another. He would not sit unmolested on that lands thrown. This she knew to be true, the land would reject him and he will soon find out the grave error of his ways. Evander had looked over her before not bothering to make notice of her. He would regret that decision when she was leading the charge for his blood. There was a conflict unlike she had ever had before now...to reclaim the lands or stay with the pup...

Rawbones was beside her now, looking for all the world as if they were mates and the pup was their own suckling babe. How she wished things could be so simple. She needed Cinder to birth those pups if she heeded nothing from Legends trespass than she would scour this land to find a mother to take in Damean. She feared that it was already taking too long but she knew that there was some options in the Pearl and her brother could always help her.

Crow was speaking to Rawbones and finally breaking her silence to the rest of the pack she snarled. "Akira will have NO part in this whatsoever. Rodion would not deny us in the light of Damean's passing. We may be of the darkness but Damean was good to this land when others have not been." Mind flicked back to Shadow and the bloody raid she had led on this place. She remembered the carnage and the loss of a young ones life that day at the maw of her own sister. Akiko would not deny herself her own dark tendencies but she was not a feral dog to snap at everything that came within two yards.

Rising up she trotted over to the stream and lapped up some water keeping some in her mouth so that when she returned she let some of it off on Damean's mouth. The pup would be thirsty from the journey and the wait, water would have to do for now. Running her tongue over him to wash off the grime of the road she gingerly grabbed him by his scruff and repositioning herself so that she was up against Rawbones she placed the pup between her forepaws and put her head down next to him to shelter her and let him sleep. "Our main priority right now is to keep this pup alive." And with that her own eyes shut but whether she was actually sleeping or not wasn't apparent.
