| Braeden was still watching them, noticing when they shifted closer to each other, muttering lowly to each other. What could they be talking about? Her anxiety grew further, wondering what they were planning as they glanced to her. She began pacing back and forth slowly, watching them. She froze in place as Morgan made inches toward her, her weakened muscles tense but in no condition to fight. She took several paces back, hackles up and tail between her legs; she still was unsure about trusting these larger canines. It was easy to accept her smaller friend, for he was no threat to her, and never had been. But these wolves... they seemed so strong, so intelligent, the way they said this or that and knew exactly what it meant. Her communicative skills were entirely lacking, and she found their abilities to speak to one another quite intimidating, especially when she did not understand. But she tried to pay attention to him as he spoke. His ears were back and his tail offered a friendly wave, gestures that she knew were not threatening. Her tall ears pointed toward him, head canting to the side. She tried to piece together what he was saying, but it was extremely difficult; all she understood was 'more food' and 'help'. Her eyes narrowed; did he mean there was more food than this? Or he would help her get more food? She sat down, contemplating what he meant. Then she saw her friend come up beside Morgan, and he flicked his nose as though to beckon her away from the meat. Clearly he had been listening, and to him it seemed these two wolves needed to be somewhere; Braeden needed to come soon or she would be spending some time alone. But could she really trust them? Huffing indecisively, she rose to all fours and stepped off the carcass, looking to Morgan, then to Vaarak. For whatever reason she was being beckoned away from the food, she would follow. She had put her trust in them thus far, and they were her only chance for survival. Now that she thought about it, when the deer meat ran out, she would once again be left helpless if she had nobody else to help her. She needed to stay with these wolves and hope that they meant only good upon her, not harm. | |

| Morgan found it terribly odd, almost disturbing, that Braden couldn't communicate. And he wished that they could do so better. He figured being a sort of ambassador to her would make for a good use of time. As Vaarak's words reached his ears, he attempted not to smile. A slow nod moved his head up and down, taking the words in simple understanding. "Perhaps learning on the job is the best way to gain the experience. Don't worry. This situation seems to be a quite unorthodox one. I don't think we'll be having a repeat of it any time soon." His voice was low and close as he spoke, but he kept a careful eye on the hybrid as she moved. Clearly this was something gained in a different life. So far as he knew, there were no wolves around here so vicious as to steal food.
He approached with severe caution, pads only carrying him inches forward. His ears went back just slightly and his tail wagged. The bru had no intention of letting her think he was there to do harm. He tried the same method he had found effective before, a clear and concise sentence with a smile. "We hide it," he spoke as though offering an explanation to her troubling predicament. "More food for later." Morgan could only hope his inherent kindness would reach her the right way. The phrasing was short, but he had a feeling she wasn't stupid. He gave Vaarak a glance and looked back to the satiated fae. "We'll help." He knew they would have to be quick if she took his offer. Rodion's howl hadn't been for nothing, and they would have to go to him soon, with or without Braeden.

| Vaarak was startled as Braeden ate, acting as if he or Morgan were going to try to eat some of it. It worried him a bit, as well as her lack of word usage, and he wondered what kind of a pack she had come from. Even after she finished eating, she behaved as if this was the only meal she'd ever obtain. He started when she even snapped at the dog, who was clearly a close companion to her. He looked at Mogran, and muttered so only he heard, "If I knew this was what scouts had to do, I would have thought about getting some training first..." He was unsure what to do now. He was fine with her behavior before she had the meat, and he was trying to piece what he knew together, tryign to think like his brother probably would, but failed. It was now that his wished Blathier was with them, but as far asd he knew, he was tending to Cinder still. Instead, he slowly moved a little closer to Morgan, asking, "What should we do now? It doesn't look like we should bring her to the rest of the pack yet..." He looked at the trees, and titled his head. The dog appeared to understand them better, despite not being able to talk. Maybe if there was some way for them to communicate with each other...

| Braeden looked to Morgan as he said 'Yes, meat', and soon took off. She understood, and her tail waved weakly. She stood for a while, but she soon realized that this was not going to be a quick retrieval of food, so she lay her sore and fragile body down. Her small dog companion wandered to and fro, sniffing at things though not going far from either she or Vaarak. The hungry wolfess merely look around, brown eyes flicking here and there, eyebrows moving as she did so. Every now and then, dark spots would show up in her vision, or vibrant, unnatural colours, and objects would stretch oddly in ways that just didn't seem right. It bothered her, and she shuffled nervously, even though she knew it was just her mind playing tricks on her like when she had been in the lab getting stuck with needles. Finally the scent of blood caught her attention, and soon after Morgan came tumbling down a rise, the body of a deer crashing down right at her paws. All of her remaining energy went into quickly rising to her paws and diving on top of the body, claws digging into the flesh and giving a nasty look with a dangerous snarl to the wolves around her. It was simply her nature to behave the way she did when food was before her. Previously, when meat was just tossed toward her, she knew she had to fight viciously for it or it would be gone from her, and she would continue to starve until whatever next chance she got to fight for another slab of meat. Her fangs dug into the deer's hide now, eating frantically like time was going to end and she wouldn't be free to fill her belly. Before long her stomach was bloated and she could eat no more. She circled the body of the deer, looking shiftily to both Vaarak and Morgan. What would happen now? She did not know how to bring meat to herself, so fear clung to her heart that they would take this food from her and she would once more go without. She needed to stay near the meat, guard it, to make sure no one would take it from her. Nervously, she continued pacing around it, biting at it periodically. She snarled and snapped as her small friend came near hoping for a share, chasing him off with a nip to his heels. He knew how to find food for himself, he needn't take from her. Watching the wolves, she wondered what they would do next; she did not know the workings of a pack, nor even that such a grouping existed, so it would be up to them to make her understand and introduce her into a regular life, or at least try. | |

| Balthier saw his sign of approval, and turned to head towards where he scented Link and Cinder. At first he jogged, but as he approached, he slowed down, as it appeared that Link was attempting to help Cinder sleep. He wasn't close enough to hear the humming, but waited a good amount of time, when he could be fairly certain that his closer presence wouldn't disturb her. He silently approached, placed the large leaf down near Link's paws, and retreated a bit, wary of the sleeping Cinder. Then he said just loud enough for Link to hear, "In there is a poultice for any of her cuts in injuries. They'll prevent and stop infection, was well as help the skin to heal quicker. There's enough if Exodus needs it, too." He turned to leave, but added, "Do you need anything while I'm here?"
Fran slowly nodded. It wasn't that she still disagreed, but she had to wonderbut what if the other dark pack is the one to attack us? Then again, she didn't know the history of this pack and if they even had issues with either pack, but because of Damean's words, perhaps that pack had been quite troublesome before he became alpha... She looked to Exodus, wondering how she was coping.

| Cinder
It seemed like forever before Link's body darkened the hole and came down into the earth like an angel from heaven. Cinder relaxed. The walls seemed to close in upon her before his shadow came. She took a deep breath and exhaled. His kisses were so gentle and the song he hummed made her relax further. She pushed against the den wall and shoved her body closer to him. Pressing against his warmth, the warmth that was her security. She rubbed her head against his coat even if it did make the wound in her neck burn with pain. She finally settled and really listened to the lullaby that Link was humming. She took a deep breath once more and in the warmth her eyelids began to droop. Her breathing seemed to take on the same cadance as Link's tune and it wasn't long and her silvers dissapeared beneath her eyelids. She slipped into darkness and it was warm and good. The pain was gone and she could still hear Link's soothing hum in her ears. The notes seemed to scoop her up and hold her in the sound. The darkness swirled with gilmpses of color as she floated in the nothingness. She relaxed further and her body grew heavy against Links side, deep in sleep. The flicks of color seemed to grow stronger and images tried to form but then the hum would banish them and Cinder soon fell into complete darkness. Dreamless sleep.

One who withholds wisdom...
Zelda's thorned twitched and she felt a flood of relief at the assurance of Varaak's and Morgan's well being. It helped her better settle in though she wondered what could a newcommer could be doing that held them up so much. This talk was important and she would like to hear their voices on it. Looking at Balthier she nodded her head in a vauge agreement.
Then Fran spoke and she felt a smile crack her jaws. She had not pegged Fran to be the sort to be more open but here she was asking the right questions. It sort of made her proud, like a parent who had taught her kids the right way to tred in life.
Looking at Rodion she nodded with his words though her expression had become once more thoughtful. They were not leaning on Jabbar and would not depend on them for protection. She knew not if this alliance was a farce to Damean but she knew that they were more honor bound and would come through with it. But should they retract their cooperation they did so on valid grounds so no slander could be made against them.

The small smile that she offered could have broke his heart all over again. Right now he could not tell what was real and what was her delirium. Chest ached with worry but she complied well enough and entered the den. This making him happy that she was not exposed. Looking around he walked around the small perimeter scent marking and providing warnings for those who would try and enter. He wasn't going to let anyone disturb her now.
Casting one last look around and satisifed with what he saw the tri hued bru disappeared under the earth, easily sliding over to Cinder's side so that she was to the dens wall and he was towards the entrance. Licking her face soothingly he began to hum...the humming was a soft noise. It was an old lulluby. Zelda's lulluby, now he would use it as he once used it for her. This, he hoped, would help her to sleep and keep the nightmares at bay. | The other who withholds courage... |

| It took Rodion a moment to identify the howl that hit his ears, but he realized soon enough who it was when Balthier spoke up. So they had their questions... fine by him. It made for better interaction between packmates. It seemed as though he spoke a bit more seriously of the alliance than he had originally perceived. He gave the healer a smile and nodded with a sort of friendly shooing motion added to send him off. Whatever he had to do to make sure all was well. He turned to Fran, taking her questions with full attention. He noted her head lowered, and his tassel wagged a couple of times of its own accord. He hoped in the future he could ask them to speak more plainly with him, knowing that not all took to such old and almost assinine habits, but to each his own... or her own in Fran's case. His answer readied itself on his lips. "I believe Damean had his reasons well sorted. It seems a strange and dark time for more than just our pack. There is something stirring here that calls attention to itself, but we still can't see it. Legend may have well been just the beginning, Fenris forbid. The alliance isn't something that ultimately binds us to Jabbar. It's more to protect each others backs. Any sort of raids or attacks from other packs on us will have them at our flanks, and I should hope that we will be at theirs. Perhaps I made it sound a bit more epic than it is. It is simple and nothing to be weighing on our minds." His brows raised after a brief silence, accompanying his honest question. "Did that help any?" He wanted to look to Zelda, further consult her on the matter and find out her true opinions on the subject, but as long as Fran's question hung in he air, his attention was hers. There would be plenty of time for his own questions later. | |

| Cinder
Cinder followed Link's touch, his tail guided her as she walked along. She was so tired she hadn't noticed his extra caution. She yawned and let out a heavy sigh at the end. Her silver eyes finally took a look around when they stopped and Link entered the den. He had brought them to one of the far ends of the meadow. She turned her silver gaze back to where Link was and saw a shower of dirt coming from the hole soon followed by Link and his dirt covered nose. A faint smile came to her lips. He looked so handsome even with the dirt upon his nose and pelt. She knew that he wanted her inside and she slowly eased herself down into the womb of the earth. Her body ached and she gasped a bit as her privacy stung anew. It will heal...she thought to herself trying to put on a brave front. She felt as if a damn was built for her tears with Exodus's words. They were still there but she wouldn't shed them, she had others to think of now. Others who care about her and she didn't want to make them worry. The mouth of the den shone a bright white into the darkness and she lay down. Silver eyes looked up expectantly and hoped that Link would come inside too. His scent, the warmth of his pelt, and his presence were something Cinder needed.

| Vaarak nodded, not thinking about the simple solution of sending a howl. He raised his head towards the sky and his howl was pushed on by the slight wind. It was mainly addressed towards his brother that he and Morgan were fine, but it also told the pack they were taking care of a new arrival. He smiled, as it was the first time he howled for communication, because it used to be just him and his brother, and they were always nearby the other or had an assigned meeting time and never had a need to give another a message from a long distance.
Balthier said, "I do not have any problem with the alliance. From their alpha and his companion, they look quite approachable and understanding for their sort, even if it could have been just because they were in unfamiliar lands." He stopped when he heard his brother, mentally sighing in relief. "I don't know if I'm speaking for some of the others, but I don't think it'll be difficult to gain our friendship. I'm pretty sure my little brother already considers you as one." The emotion of his relief for his brother being safe didn't show across his facial features as he continued, "May I take my leave for now? Now that I know where my brother is, I just need to give Link quick instructions about the herbs for Cinder's wounds. I will help out with the dens after that, though."
Fran glanced at Balthier as he responded to Rodion. She wasn't too certain about the alliance, though. It may be easier for wolves like Balthier to go along with it, but she paused to weigh the ideas. She said, "I don't disagree with the alliance, since you pointed out many good reasons, but do they have a motive for forming an alliance, or was it because of what happened to Cinder?" She bowed her head slightly, to further show she was asking politely. It was a bit weird to think of an alliance between light and dark. Not unheard of, but it still wasn't common. It was also slightly concerning of other packs who might have been friendly with them to start to become wary.

Zeld sat by Rodion's side by was angled towards him listening to him speak. Nodding with his well spoken words she casually glaned at the other wolves when he spoke of Damean and the peculiar alliance that they had made. She was not worried about their reaction in a hostile manner for she knew that none were so brash about their actions here. But she did not doubt that their might be a ripple of unease from them.
After all she was not completely satisfied with what had happened either but she had to trust Rodion even with this first radical decree. Wrapping her tassle around her base she waited for any questions that would follow his speech, wondering where Varaak and Morgan where hiding. Leading Cinder he stayed close enough that his tail brushed her. He was still insanely tense and now that they were on the move again his eyes looked in every shadow and his twin peaks flickered at every sound no matter how small. He said looked at her softly despite the way he felt and motioned for her to follow. Soon enough they were in a remote area on the edge of a meadow, an easy look out to any who would approach from that direction. Bending low he popped his head inside the whole and sniffed around, heaved some dirt away with his paws and dragged away a few bugs. It was clean enough and sliding back out he shook his pelt and looked to Cinder and smiled softly. Indicating that she should go in first. | The other who withholds courage... |

| [center]Cinder
Cinder's ears were tilted off to the side as Exodus's words came to them. She gave a slight nod, sleep would be wonderful as long as the nightmares stayed away. She had to try and keep them at bay. Exodus had been right. She had to put what had happened behind her because it wasn't just for her sake. She had to be strong come what may. She felt Link's nudge and watched as he went to Exodus, thanking her without words. One of the corners of her mouth raised in an attempt to smile. She was glad that Link seemed to accept Exodus now. She watched as her dark colored friend dissapeared into the trees. She was glad they were to be pardoned of the meeting.
Stiffly she followed Link. Her body ached. She must get past this. She thought as a sob choked in her throat. She had to. She forced the tears back and followed Link slowly. She wished that bastard wouldn't have torn her so. She would have begged Link to take her to push the memory of Legend into the far recesses of her mind and replace that horrid memory with something good. And then her fear of the possible pregnancy would be abated. For there would be the possiblity of the whelps being Links. She pushed the thought aside. All of them. She had to make herself numb to it all. She looked ahead with her silver eyes and watched Link who was ahead of her. He seemed to carry the pig like it was nothing. She wondered which den he would choose. She sure missed the den she shared with him before she left for Jabbar. What a mistake....she bit the inside of her lip and ignored the feelings that welled up inside.

| Morgan looked to Vaarak, glad he chose to ask before dashing off the the sound of a howl. He too had heard the call, but knew that where they were was an important enough place with an important enough task. His maw parted in speech. "I think it would be unwise to leave her here alone just yet. Send up a howl to your brother. Just so he knows we're here. It seems they'll be understanding for something like this. We'll head over soon." He looked down kindly to the hybrid, knowing she would get her fill from such a supply of meat. His gaze returned to to his young friend before he briefly continued. "Just a few minutes, to make sure she's alright. Settled. I'd feel unkind just leaving." His mind wandered to Tom... He wondered if he had made it to the conference. He waited patiently for an answer and perhaps a look at Braeden's personality with a reaction to the meat. He hoped she would learn to take them in as family. He knew the likes of Rodion and Zelda, let alone the rest of the pack, would not turn her down. | |

| Rodion noticed how quickly the others had gathered. A good sign... They were an eager bunch. So far it looked like they were all here. Exodus had first apporached. HE nodded in unison with Zelda's words. She was good at this. He spoke. "Agreed. On all points. You should rest. You already know everything I'm going to say to the others." He offered his best smile, and looked out upon the others. He saw Tom lagging behind the others, catching up in the rear. He was getting rather old. His seemingly designated keeper was nowhere to be found, and neither was Vaarak. They had their reasons. Duely noted. He would be sure to keep an eye on him. His gaze shifted catching each one of them in turn. The alphen raised his head high, taking it in for one more moment. He breathed deeply and smiled. "I'm glad to see most of you are here," His voice was steady. Never once in his life did he ever think he would be nervous about something like this. So far his assumptions held true. He was loud and clear, knowing it was essential for all of them to hear such an important announcement. "There are a couple of things that need to be covered right away. Since you came to my call, I find I need to make it clear for some that Zelda has officially stepped down from her post as your leader. She has agreed to give me the title of alpha male of this territory we call home. I don't come here as a dictator," He spoke plainly, knowing that there was no need for official, kingly tones here. It was only in his old home, with huge packs under an alpha pair, that needed such dialects. Accented lyrics floated over a slight breeze. "I come here as a source of leadership and guidance in troubled times. All I ask for is your friendship, and you will have mine loyally in return. But enough on that. There are more important things going on here." He gave a pause, looked about again. There was an elephant in the crowd that needed to be dealt with. "We are all aware of the vile actions that took place here so recently. And many of us here were aware of Damean Jager's presence among us minutes ago. He made me a fair and well thought out proposition that may catch you oddly. An alliance has been formed between us and Jabbar Junayd. I feel it would be better to have such a large pack on our side rather than against us. He stated quite simply that darks will be darks and pures will be pures, and we will not always see eye to eye. But in times of desperation such as these, there will be no attacks from them in return for no attacks from us. And from what I can hope, we cand find some sort of defense from their fronts in our favor should the worst happen and Muerta or some other force turn on us." What worried Belikov most was the possibility of total dissension. He could only hope they would see his side and wisdom on the issue. "Any opposing stands or comments on this I will take here or in private. Whichever you prefer. In the meantime," Finally, things could lighten up. "Zelda has suggested we begin to take on a new start by moving our denning sight. The current location has begun to erode, and it would be safer to have the dens further from the border than they are now. It will take some effort, and we're looking for all the paws we can get." His shining smile returned in full, upon them happily. "If they're willing." | |

| Fran gave an encouraging smile to Cinder and Link before it moved to Exodus. She traveled alongside as they traveled towards Rodion and Zelda. She wondered about the events about to unfold in front of them, and about what would happened between the two packs. It was hard to assume what had happened when the two dark wolves had learned of what happened. With Rodion's howl echoing in the trees, she figured that most of what occured would be explained. Vaarak heard a howl, and looked to Morgan. "Should we be going back soon, or wait a little longer?" He looked at Braeden, who looked like she could use a bit of rest. Then again, Balthier would be worried if they didn't see each other, especially if the howl was calling the pack. This whole event had been a learning experience for him, but he couldn't wait for things to settle down. He hadn't trained for a while... perhaps his brother will be free soon and they coudl spar. Balthier carefully picked up the large leaf in front of him by two opposite ends. Contained inside was the poultice he made for Cinder and could also be used by Exodus. It was true that their wounds were closed by now, but they still had to heal without infection. He turned as he heard a howl and decided that getting to the dens might have to wait. On the positive side, there was a nice aroma emmitted from within the leaf he carried, thanks to the scented plants he mixed in. When he arrived, Exodus and Fran were already there, but not his brother. He'd already assumed that Cinder, and consequently Link, wouldn't be present, but his brother should be here. His eyes scanned the area before narrowing, noticing it had been a while since Vaarak had been in the area. He wanted to search, but it probably would be important to stay, especially since he had to visit the dens afterwards...

One who withholds wisdom...
Laughing when he pretended to be haughty she watched in a sort of awe when he belt out his alpha's howl and she felt a sort of chill go down her spine. He truly was made for this and Zelda felt a burning pride in her chest that something so great had finally happened in these lands.
Reclining on her haunches she waited for those who would to come to the call. Soon enough it was Exodus who came first and she smiled kindly towards the young fem. She had been through quite and ordeal. "Thank you Exodus for the news. Though perhaps you should be resting as well..." She looked worriedly at the fem and wondered how bad the damage was. If she could not mother her own pups than she could mother her pack.

The words that Exodus spoke seemed to do the trick and a small smile worked its way onto his muzzle. His body felt relief for the change in emotion. There was hope here and he knew that Cinder could be strong, she would make it past this and they would move on. He recieved her gladly when she pushed her face into his shoulder and he looked at Exodus gratefully. Auds flicked at the howl but he surmised that something like this was going to happen. Rodion was a leader, though Link did wonder why he had not taken over his father's pack.
Nodding to her words about laying down and eating she went to walk away. Nosing Cinder he broke contact with her and looking at Exodus he bowed his crania to her and then affectionately rubbed his head on her cheek. Smiling at her he then went back to Cinder and grabbing the carcass in his mouth he indicated for her to follow so that they could go and rest. | The other who withholds courage... |

Exodus listened to Cinder shudder, sob, and then end her cries with a simple amount of words. She nosed the femme back softly before she had turned to Link saying she was so tired. Exodus was about the perk up and offer her and Link privacy in the den to lay down, for they both had to be exhausted after the recent events going on today. Cinder physically, but both had to be emotionally drained. Her cleared her throat to speak when a regal howl caressed the sky and she looked up as birds took flight in fear. She smiled, somewhat glad about this recent event happening with her father and Rodion. Her eyes came down and she landed them on Link and Cinder. "If you two choose to lay down and rest in a den. I'll tell Rodion and Zelda that you two need it. I can report to you both afterwards about what was said. I think it's a good idea. Cinder needs her rest...you know it too Link that you yourself should have a nap" She gave him a soft smile, and then let her eyes land on Cinder before she turned to Fran. "Shall we?" she said softly, and the fem turned away from Link and Cinder. "Oh! and eat the meat before you sleep, you'll be full and tired. Sleep well my friend...s" she paused before adding the s. To be honest, she had no idea what Link thought of her. She hoped it wasn't bad, seeing where she came from, but...there was some things she knew that there were against her with Link and Cinder.
With a deep breath she limped away from the scene. Her body moved slowly but strongly as she made her way through the trees to where Zelda and Rodion stood still where she had left them. Orbs danced with pity for the events knowing that Rodion would have to make such a speech to the pack. Oh...and if he told them about Jabbar and Midnight uniting...what would everyone think about her? Would they glance her way and eye her with suspision? She felt a lump well up in her throat but she tried to speak clearly through it. "Zelda. Rodion" she bent her head downward as much as she could in honor of their postion. "Forgive me, but I asked Link and Cinder to go lay down. I'm not sure if they'll listen, but if they don't show, that's why. If they do, then pardon my words here" She nodded to them again and then limped backwards. She brought her legs under her sideways and let her body lay on the ground. It was a instant relief that coursed through each vein and she breathed easier.
As she waited for more wolves to come, Link and Cinder hopefully not, her mind went over towards Legend. At the thought of him anger welled in her stomach but she sedated it with the thought of what Damean would do to him. She wondered where he was, dead or alive, whichever the pack had made with that decision. She sighed and let her orbs looked to Rodion and Zelda. She held a soft smile on her maw, not knowing if they noticed or not. Her mind was busy at work thinking for her, but her body was still as ice. She just wanted to lay here, and wait, listen to the speech that was about to be made, and let fate take the course now. She didn't have to fight anyone and she didn't have to speak up about her father, her brother, or anything. She had no focus on her, it was nice...>

| Rodion was slightly sore at the idea that he wasn't able to speak with Damean for longer than he had, but he knew that the alphahad business to attend to in his lands, just as he did here. The Russian smiled at Zelda. She had handled things well. He intended to speak with her more privately about his decision later. Were it not for the sense of urgency he felt, he would have taken more time to think things over. He was confident, however, that he had done the right thing. It was better to be the good guy and have the bad guy on your side than attacking you. He took note of her every move, noting her silence on the issue and her concerns for the others. Zelda had gone to make a move, but caught herself. He couldn't help but chuckle at her actions. It was only natural. "It's okay. You're thinking right. At least you've got a clear head after everything. Things will go faster with everyone at work."He looked ahead to the others. He had made his first decision as alpha, now it was time for everyone else to know. He put on a false air of haughtiness, catching Zelda with a wink, before standing straighter. "Allow me." Finally. His heart's pace picked up, just slightly in his chest, ready to make his first call. Rodion threw his head back, thorns pressed tight against his skull, and released a powerful, clear howl. It had been held back for so long... years. He could at last send up the noise he had waited an eternity for. Now all they had to do was listen. | |

| Cinder
Link's kisses covered her face. Could he truly love her even if she carried anothers offspring? Then Exodus's voice came to her pinned auds, followed by her touch, and Link had stepped away. Her voice soothing at first then the hard blunt words came. They jolted Cinder out of her sob. Exodus spoke the truth, Cinder knew this and her shudders became less. She would survive this. Her external wounds would heal, they weren't as severe as the ones she had taken with Evon. It was the mental ones she had to overcome. How could she rid herself of the feeling of filth? Her tears slowly dried leaving clean trails down the dirt on her nose. She shuddered one last time. "You are right..." she whispered as if saying it would make everything go away. She sat up and looked at Link seeing the sadness in his eyes and wishing above all that he still had his voice so he could say something...anything. She missed his baritone. She sighed heavily wanting to apologize over and over. She reached over and nosed Exodus's cheek and whispered a "Thank you." She then looked to Link painful memories livid in her eyes but then they were drown out with the love she had for him. Please Fenris...she prayed silently...let not the seed grow, for it's not the one I wanted planted in my soil. She knew deep down though that her prayer would be futile. She stood and on shaken pillars she moved closer to Link and pushed her head into his shoulder. "I'm tired." she whispered trying to put on a brave front for not only Exodus but for Link also.

| Fran had tesnsed, the atmosphere was different with the arrival of two wolves... from darker lands. She had rarely been exposed to such wolves, and it was a notable different for her. But... it didn't feel as corrupt as it could have, which brought her interest. Then, two figures appeared, one talking while the other... she almost missed seeing him, but he was there, watching. She wondered if he was backup, in case being here caused her pack to attack. But, they left quickly, heading towards the ones who could tell them what happened. Exodus had followed, but she remained where she was this time. She turned to Link when she heard a noise, and saw his gesture to the meat. Nodding, She stepped forward some and picked up the pig, placing it down next to the pair and stepped the the side a bit, especially as one of the wolves came back. Fran's eyes narrowed near the end of whatever was being said, for it was making Cinder upset. She only came closer again when he was gone. Sitting down, she looked from Link to Cinder, unsure if she should, or rather, could, do anything.

| One who withholds wisdom...
Eyes never faultered from Damean as she stood at Rodion's flank. She would admit she was a bit alarmed at Rodion's quick decision of accepting the alliance, but perhaps seeing Damean now that was a good thing. She was confused though and there were many small details that clouded her judgement. Fear rose up in her but she quelled it. There was such a deep seated resentment of Jabbar for many years that it would be hard for them to turn a new lead. Maybe for Rodion it was easy but he had not lived her nearly as long as she. For now she would support his decision by staying quiet but if she had a protest she would voice it. Every action of Damean's puzzled her. They were all sincere, his words and actions. This was not the same brujo that had taken over the pack originally. Eyes flicked to Exodus and saw that she had so much pain to deal with. She wanted all the pain and sorrow to end. There was too much of it. She tilted her dial to him when he ran off to speak with Link and Cinder and she hoped that they were doing well.
Absently she wondered where the rest of the pack was and was about to lift her head and call them but halted herself a bit embarassed at the action. Throwing a glance at Rodion she smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, old habits and all. I was going to call the pack...everyone seems scattered. Maybe they can help with the dens? Something to take everyone's mind off of...recent events." She knew that a pack activity was sorely needed.

It hurt Link to ask her to stand when she struggled to do the smallest thing. But she could not be in the open it was too dangerous. Who knew what Damean had planned? He lent her the support that she needed. Looking at Fran who was standing unobtrusively in the background he made a noise to gather her attention and motioned to the meat. He wanted Fran to bring it to where they would bring Cinder. Hopefully she would understand. Turning back to Cinder he licked her face and was preparing to bring her to a den not to far away.
There was a clearing of a throat and Cinder touched his leg. Looking behind him he saw that Damean was back once more. The other he was with was absent. His muscles tensed but he did not issue any warning. The dark king looked benign enough. And he knew that his sister was fine. Nothing bad could've happened in that short expanse of time.
Then he spoke and Link listened warily. Yes, he agreed to the part where Cinder would not return to Jabbar. His thank you for what he did to his son puzzled him but he inclined his dial slightly with a frown on his muzzle. Than his next point he brought up his whole body stiffened and his stomach lurched at the thought of Legend's seed in her body actually being successful. He listened and his mind rejected what Damean was saying and when he came forth Link's muscles twitched in agitation at the audacity of this bru to touch Cinder now. After what he had just said.
Then he was gone imparting on him to take care of her. Like he needed someone to tell him that. Then Cinder was right back to where she was in the beginning. Dropping down with her he frantically began to lick her face, trying to comfort her in any way he could. It scared him...it scared him beyond belief. How could he bring her back from this broken state...then Exodus was there, soothing Cinder with a voice, a voice! He stepped back and looked sadly down on Cinder, unable to tell her that everything would be okay. Of course he still loved her...why would she think that would change..of course he still would.

| OOC: I don't have much for Rodion, he can wait. Vaarak seemed to have a handle of things, and he watched as the newcomer stood shakily. He gave her a smile and answered simply, as needed to be done. "Yes, meat." Morgan looked to his young companion with the same smile and turned away. "I'll be back in no time. Just keep her company. You're doing quite well." He left on swift feet, and soon caught the scent of deer, which not so long ago had been admired by Zelda and Rodion. If he would have known, he would have felt guilty. He went at a quick pace for quite a while until he reached the small valley they had moved on to. Being alone for a number of years, he had learned quickly how to catch deer on his own. He moved silently, the prey unaware of his presence until he came dangerously close. Their heads lifted up with his scent on the wind, and in another moment he sprung, aiming for a good sized, healthy male. To any other it would have seemed folly, but he knew what he was doing. He left the does and their children alone, conscience to pure to split a bond such as that. He latched onto the rear, pulling it down to the ground beneath his weight. It struggled to get up, but failed to do so before he got around to its throat. Carefully avoiding the small but powerful hooves, he clutched with deadly force around the throat, and the struggles grew faint until at last it died. He tasted a bit of blood on his lips and licked it away before taking the kiil and dragging it back as quickly as he could. Training as a young bru had helped him today, and in the mountains no less. If he could do it there, he could do it here... with ease. Within the hour Vaarak and their new acquaintance came into view. He hurried his steps, pulling backwards down the slight hill. Momentum caught the venison, and he leapt over it as it slid beneath him down the incline to land at Braeden's feet. It was as if he had planned the maneuver. Panting and grinning as he came down to face them, he nodded, then looked between Vaarak and Braeden, and also caught sight of her small friend. "Meat." | |

| He came and went so fast... She wanted to see him, to talk to him. To tell him to kill Legend. But she didn't get a chance and before she could say anything else he was gone. Her eyes were on her own paws and then she looked up at Zelda and Rodion. "Thank you, and forgivness is not an issue. Trust me. I understa--" Her words were cut off as a cry caught her attention. Cinder...Damean wouldn't... She turned as fast as she could and tried to hurry with a limp towards her strange friend. "Cinder....CINDER!" she yelled, and she came out of the brush and saw her friend laying on the ground hot tears were spilling from her eyes and she felt guilt splash her like a strong wave. "Oh...Cinder..." She didn't care what Link thought, she limped over and touched her friend on the shoulder before her own body came down and she laid next to her. "I'm sorry, it'll be okay. I promise. Everything will be okay. He still loves you. He loves you more then life its self. Cinder. Link doesn't see you any less" She knew what her friend was thinking. And she knew what was going through her head. This wasn't the first time she'd seen something like this between lovers. Her eyes looked up to Link and she slightly glared at him. "Link thinks nothing less of you. He loves you, we all love you, and whatever happens" She nudged her friend and cooed in her aud. This was too much. Personally, the dark side of who she was born to wanted to kill Cinder and just end the pain. But she knew life would go on. The wounds on her body would heal and things would change. Her voice turned strong and she had finally knew this was not what she would want to hear. "Cinder. You cannot do this to yourself. There is so much you need to care for. I'm going to be blunt, for I get this trait from whomever my mother and father are. Cinder. If you have his whelps, you still have a choice. Keep them or rid of them. This is not the end of the world. You will move on from this, but you have to be strong. For yourself, for the whelps, for Link, for Zelda. There is nothing that can be done of what has already been done. And I'm sorry for that. But Cinder... you have to keep going." Exodus licked her friends cheek and then nudged her. "Please..." she was done... | |

| Cinder
Her petite form pressed against Link, oh how she wished none of this had happened and she was pressed upon him for different reasons. She felt like it was her fault, she should have known better than to wander to Legend alone. She swallowed and her silver gaze saw the King of Jabbar approach and clear his throat so not to suprise Link. Cinder touched her tail to Link's rear leg to reassure him and she listened as apologies came to her ears. She nodded when he told her she wouldn't be allowed to come to Jabbar and she understood. She couldn't bring herself to ever leave Link's side again...never again. She was suprised to hear Damean thank Link for what he had done, that had to be the first time ever a father thanked his son's attacker for breaking his leg. Damean Jager wasn't your ordinary wolf though. His next words made her blood run cold though, it was like she couldn't breath. Pups? She hadn't even thought about the potential for pups. No...she couldn't have pups with the one that did this to her...No. Her silver eyes grew wide and she trembled. She listened to his loving words on how she would be welcome to his pack to come with his grandchildren. She bit her lip. The whole idea sent her back into a shocked state. She was even more shocked when Damean the dark king himself came and embraced her and spoke words of loving her as if she was family. She was feeling faint. She had never thought about the consequences of Legend's seen spilling into her ripe womb. If it had been Link she would have been overjoyed at the news of being pregnant, but Legend Jager...he stole more than just her first heat, he stole her first litter to be born with Link. Tears streamed down her face and she watched Jabbar's Dark King sprint off into the shadows. Damean's call lifted into the air and Cinder choked on a sob. Her body trembled and she went down. "No.." she cried "No No NOOOOO" Her body heaved and she cursed Fenris for allowing this to happen for deep deep down, with as quickly as her perfume had faded she knew Legend's seed found it's mark.

| Damean listened to Zelda as she spoke of Link. He nodded in approval of what she said. Damean agreed with the brute Link if those had been his intentions for Legend. Not the easy way out, but a lifetime of pain. Then his mind struck him and he knew Petra would have treated him with kindness by now...oh he'd have another broken leg when Damean got back. It was then that they both took up the topic of Exodus and he felt her plume wag behind him. He felt a great wave of thankfulness wash over him and he smile to the two wolves. "Thank you, honestly" He nodded, and that subject was ended. Then came the crossing for Petra and Cinder. As of now, Cinder would be asked to stay home, not to come to Jabbar. Which was for the best in either way now or the future so close. Damean felt his shoulder's begin to roll a little when Rodion spoke his whole name. They mocked each other in a banter that wasn't deadly. The bru agreed. These times were trying, and alliance, even with the lightest of wolves would be better then nothing at all, then deception and hate. Damean nodded and held himself regally while Rodion spoke. "Past is the past. It's time to deal with the present. My pack will know after I deal with the death of a former packmate. Or the prosecution of him. Who knows." He nodded and then turned towards Exodus. "Forgive me. For my former words. I don't want a lifestyle of us, for you. Though we maybe in calm waters now, the pures are pure, the darks are darks, it's how we react that shows who we are." His daughter nodded, hot tears were spilling down her face and he licked them off carefully. "Don't cry. I love you" Damean licked her again and then looked to Rodion and Zelda. "Thank you, again, for everything" He nodded and then turned off. "I'm going to speak with Cinder before I part, and Link. I wont detour among the rest of the pack. I don't want to stir them more then the presence of us is known already." He didn't look back and he headed off the way he came. He knew Exodus wanted to follow but he wouldn't allow it. The dark king began to come up behind Link and Cinder. Cinder would see him first, and before Link had time to snap Damean cleared his throat loud enough for the bru to hear. He came round and nodded towards the two. "Cinder, from the bottom of my heart and soul no matter what allignment I'm in, I'm sorry." He wanted to embrace her and atleast nudge her a little to let her know he ment it, but Link would probably protest with what little voice he could muster. "There are things taking place, between myself and your alpha Rodion. The deal is, you are not to come to Jabbar. Specially now. Don't take it personally, and it's not because Legend will be there. When I return, his hide will be used as a rug" he felt a soft growl rise in his throat and he cleared it with a shake of his head. "Exodus is to stay here, for many reasons. As to her not belonging to the darkness, she never has, and also the fact that you can feel her guilt seeping from her pores about this." He sighed and then looked at Link. "I don't know what was going through that mind of yours but Link I thank you personally that you didn't kill him so the rest of us could. This is a matter that isn't taken lightly by myself. I've been in your shoes with someone you love having to go through this. Which brings me to my next point. Cinder." His blue orbs shifted back to her and he gave her a weak smile. "I don't know if this will take, if you will become pregnant or not, if you will carry his whelps. But if you do, weeks from now, when it's time, you're more then welcome in Jabbar. I may hate him with my whole self as much as I can claim of myself. But you are loved and welcome in my heart and eyes, and thus, they will be too. It'll be like having the grandchildren of fate. For this little dilema has brought two packs unlikely to be alligned together. Jabbar and Midnight, what a stange combo" He smirked and turned. "Call when you're ready to talk Cinder, about anything" He turned to leave again but turned back. Link would just have to deal. Damean came over and wrapped his head around her neck. He embraced her in a hug like ordeal before pulling back and touching his nose to her scruff. "Take care. And you take care of her..." his eyes landed on Link and he gave the bru a slight wink. Then the dark lord was sprinting off. His body didn't even hesitate. He stopped along the boarder, and his maw shifted towards the sky. His vocals released a loud song for the pack of this land, and all the other lands that could hear. They would know of what had happened. Then Damean struck an idea and he turned towards Jabbar. Oh, the choices... Damean began his sprint back home as fast as his body would manage. | |

| The Russian heard Damean's orders to Blade and was satisfied with his immediacy. Perhaps he was not so crazed as first perceived. And soon something strange came over him, a breakdown of sorts. It touched his heart in a way, to see such a close bond with his daughter, the willing acceptance of others, the tenderness he had for Cinder. And all of this coming from a dark king. It was all a bit much. Zelda spoke of Link and his well-received actions, and a simple nod was given at her words. Well chosen indeed. His eyes followed Blade as he left, just to be sure he didn't head in any... wrong directions.Exodus, an interesting subject. Her declared father practically begged for her acceptance into Midnight Meadows. He passed a brief smile to the opposing alphen. "Zelda speaks for me as well when she says we would be honored to have Exodus in our home. It baffles me why she was not better accepted in the first place. I have every respect for her and she will always find a home here." What also baffled him was why she was banned from her original home in the first place. At Damean's apology and command, he shot him a strange look, but recalled it quickly. He would ask Exodus later for the meaning of his words. A fae named Petra was brough up in conjunction with Cinder. Another, more sage nod was given. "If your words are true, which I am sure they are, then this Petra will be welcome in our lands. I'm sure many of my packmates will vouch for her. As for Cinder, I'll be sure to keep her away from Jabbar. For right now, though... I don't think she'll be going too far." The most important subject was brought up last, of a former alphaness and the grudges his new pack held against them. The idea of forming a pact was an intriguing one, and was probably for the best. "Well, Damean Jager,"He addressed him by his full name, as he had been spoken to thus, "Your idea is a smart one. From a practical perspective, we would not want to be on your bad side for, from what I've heard, your pack is a strong and potentially brutal one. And from one that is more civil, It would be a great honor to have you as allies. I will put your past behind me, I have no idea what kind of past you hold. If you offer this in truth, I will accept it. If anyone has issues with this, they can take it up with me." His words were strong. He would not be deterred by any opposing words. A true smile was on his maw as he continued. "To do so formally, I accept your proposal for an alliance between Jabbar Junayd and Midnight Meadows. Consider us forthwith allied and our borders open for safe passage between us." He brought a friendlier distance between them. "I have heard tell of a crazed and brutal leader by the name of Damean Jager. From what I have seen today I refuse to believe now that this is true. I think you have a good and sensible head on your shoulders, and I thank you for your good sense in all of these matters today." With more seriousness he added, "I hate to hurry you off, but perhaps it would be best if you returned to your lands. There is still a criminal awaiting your judgement." Rodion cared not what the others thought of him. For now, he approved of and almost... liked Damean Jager.OOC: I'll get Morgan up as soon as I can, Akka! | |

| He walked close to his current companion, their packs current alpha. Blade was confident in his posture, although made sure he was clearly below Damean in rank. He knew they were almost there, especially since the other felt more excited, by the feel of the air around them. His path was nearby his leader's, but Blade would only be noticed by other wolves if they were actually looking for him. He was able to be overlooked by a casual glance, but perhaps not for the more observant eye. It was how he traveled. He was there, but he was like an ordinary wolf, nothing important. He saw Exodus first, then Cinder. From his eyes, she appeared to be unharmed for the most part, but something seemed wrong about her. Still, for the life of him, he didn't know what, and there was a bit of concern in his eyes. That is... until Exodus growled at their appearance. He wasn't sure if it was mainly directed at him, Damean, or the fact they, as dark wolves, were there. Then Damean was off again, probably heading for the wolf called Zelda. He silently followed. It was here they found out the true story, and suddenly, Blade had new orders. Without another thought or glance, he nodded sharply, turned, and ran. He ran as if Fenrir himself was chasing after him. Very quickly, he was out of these lands and heading towards the scent of Akiko... Vaarak nodded at Braeden's question, "Yes, he's bringing meat." He watched her come towards him, shaky. He added, "We can stay here until you eat and get energy." He kept his voice on the gentle side, not wanting to accidently sound harsh and scare her.
