[center][b]Rhage a name meaning Rage from what her mother had told her but why would the golden femme name the she-dog as such? Rhage knew what rage was she had felt it all her life since the first time feeling the bite of pain from her father and knowing there was nothing she could possibly do to the second time watching as her brothers and mothers did nothing she knew what Rage was it had shaped ehr mind at a young age made ehr think what most whelps didnt think of most were concerned about the love of there parents she was concerned about there deaths she dreamed about it fantasied shaped out many ways just how they could die.It fueled ehr to go on to the next day even though she kept feeling the bite of pain her mother asking why she put up with it.

How could she not!? she was but a whelp against an adult there was nothing she could do! instead she bided her time ignoring her brothers grins her mothers false sorrowful look the wench meant nothing to her and soon the pain began to fade as the times she layed there still watching the world go black and the times she was forced back into the light by her master who just thought she got into fights with the other dogs he didnt care she would have been used as dog fighting bait anyway not like she mattered much she only went on until ehr fathers hits meant nothing to her she would just brush them off give him a stare that made her mother shiver in fear the stare that had her walking away the stare that drove ehr father mad.

She had slept when she heard the noise and her father attacked ehr she had bolted away as the male stumbled and she found ehrself acting upon instinct her fangs sinking into flesh and she clamped down as her father thrashed violently slamming her into things roaring how much he despised ehr but she waited as blood gushed in ehr mouth running down her chin and the male went limp slowly falling till she ripped her mouth back and just stared down at the male that had drove her to do what she had wanted to do for so long.but revenge was only sweet for so long as her brothers and mother ran to the noise they only stared as she turned around and eyed ehr mother giving her the same look as her father.

That look which made her mother scream at ehr what a monster she was made her scream that what she did was wrong but she could only give that slow smile that smile that made her brothers run and she ran at her mother only for the door to swing open and something smashed against ehr head dizzied she looked up seeing the master with a club and he put a rope around her enck and led ehr outside where he chained her up away from her mother and brothers as they feared for there life.it was all pathetic in ehr eyes so she loosened the chain against her enck and slipped out the whelpess running towards the fence and digging ehr way out where she ran not once looking back.she learned swiftly the harshness of being alone but she adapted easily learning when was the right time to fight and when was the right time to take flight.

She stayed like that for a month till she found a strange shaggy dying creature a old wolf who laughed as he saw the way ehr eyes glimemred so lifeless no emotion shinign within there deep endless depths and he told ehr to come closer and wary of this new creature she did so as he started to tell her a tale of wolves.and she listened as he explaiend to her everything about him and the wolves he ahd lived with and raised he had stopped though and she went and found a chewed hamburger and brought it back wanting him to finish his story which he did but soon died afterwads.she felt no remorse really just a weird feeling of interest and slowly she walked out of the old alley finding herself almost without knowing heading for the forests where she wanted to learn more.

The old wolf had said that most wolves didnt like dogs especially where he came from but she didnt care she wasnt scared the whelp feared nothing wary yes but she wasnt scared of death having many times stared upon his grimly face and walked away unscathed.so she found ehrself seeking out the right pack of wolves the male saying she would know which one she wanted to go to by the sounds and smells of the area she didnt udnerstand but she wanted to this was something of interest besides she had nothing else better to do right and what did she have to lose?

The trek through the rugged lands to Jabbar Junayd was abit tough but she managed even though ehr paws bled she didnt notice instead the young and silent femme moved silently through the tree's watching the sights around ehr and inhalign the many scents which surrounded the area.danger.this place smelled of danger but she wasnt scared infact this interested her was this what that old wolf had talked about? a place she would feel welcomed more at by smell? maybe she didnt know she didnt have the senses of a wolf instead she stalked foward but stopped.okay the old male had said nothing on how to introduce oneself to a supposed alpha and just how to recognize them.

Feeling rather foolish for all this and going ahead like a child without the proper information she sprang back into the shadows to think.she could just ask someone but that in itself could get ehr into trouble and Rhage wasnt one to talk to others so instead she trudged along trying to search for someone to find and ask that didnt seem busy or hoping someone found ehr and guided her through this because the dog was absolutely clueless on what to do next::

Jaded
Jaded's hackles began to rise when she heard the fem's condesending tone and shot Bloodeye a look. She wondered if the female was getting the same vibe as she was from this Raizer. Her first impulse was to drive the fem off but it was not her place, it was Exodus's and Legend's. Oh how she wished Damean was back. Her heart ached at the thought. She knew it hadn't been long but she felt as if he had been gone months. Her eyes shifted back to Raizer and she knew this creature was one of deception and knew more than she let on. "Wait here." she commanded and shot Bloodeye a weary glance. She trotted off and Exodus came into her emerald eyes. She breathed a sigh of relief seeing the young queen safe and she approached.

"Exodus. May I have an audience please. We have a visitor." Her eyes spoke volumes of caution to whomever would have seen them. She hoped Exodus would notice. "Where is Legend?" she asked softly, wanted his presence by his siblings side for strength and support.

~Cinder~

Her silver eyes passed from the young heir to Petra and then to Blade, her tail starting to curl slightly around her paws before she noticed it and bade it to stop. She nodded in acknowledgement to the young queen and understood that she would be escorted for not only the dark packs conveinence but for her own safety. She after all had been the one who called Lacuna away to her death...even though she was but a pawn. She sighed ever so softly and her her heart thudded echoing a name...Link. As much as she wanted to return home it was too late now. The choice had been hers and whether it brought death or triumph was all in the hands of fate now. She hoped it would bring the latter.

She shifted her tiny form and gave Petra a shy smile. She hoped her presence didn't make it akward for the greed eyed hybrid. Her eyes then melted off into the distance and she sent a silent prayer that Damean would return with his Beta, Akiko and with their presence her hopes would hopefully be fulfilled.

He had noticed the invitation to hunt, but he made no motion to get up. At the moment, he wasn't feeling very social- unless it included a higher-up, Cinder, or Petra. His excuse? To keep himself available for when Petra had the time to talk. Blade admitted it might be a while, but he hated that nagging in his head, and well he'd be darned if he didn't find out what was wrong with him. And he'd, too, talk with Cinder out of his ideas of justice, and if it were up to him, Cinder did nothing wrong, which was why he volunteered to guard her. The only way for him to know that she'll be fine was if he was there physically. Besides, it wouldn't take much effort and he'd still be available for that talk in the future... unless fate decides to intervene once more...

Damean Jager

Shall it be said in the stories about their horrible choices? Will it always be told in the future nightmares of whelps of their wonderful killing deeds of he, along with the queen b**** of Muerta, and will it always be whispered along in the winds of this change of life. Damean let the winds carry him away from his whelps and their mother, having spent enough time there to bring down any future idea for anyone else. Deep inside the king of darkness felt a bit happy. There were so many things happening now that would place this world of fire and ice in total chaos.

One step at a time lead the darkness home. He made his way slowly, in no hurry to appear back in the arms of another. He wondered how this would stir everything. A smirk crossed his black features and he broke free from the brush into the welcoming scents of home. "Alas..." His body shook with little joy and then he came forward. He watched the wolves, letting them know not to spook so quickly as he came up behind his...'daughter'. He growled lightly and pressed his nose into her shoulder, eyes avoiding Jaded for the time of his entering. He would speak to her sooner or later, specially after his little announcment.

His nose jerked a little and he looked at Exodus with a hard glare, she was covered in blood, and it was hers. Fresh cuts healed by Petra were all over her pelt. His head shot round and he caught eye with Cinder. She was unharmed and he tried to piece the puzzle together. Where was Legend? His head came back around to look for once at Jaded. He was forgetting one thing, and he sighed. His beta was still back in Muerta. His eyes glazed over with a hard stare and he turned away. "Get a hunt going. We feast before speaking." His body swung back around and he walked over towards Blade. "An update..." he nodded to the bru before he walked over to Cinder. "Join the hunt, would you?" it was a question to her, she didn't have to, she could sit there if she wanted he cared none the less.

The king stepped out of range of the wolves, his eyes landing on new ones, before they flickered towards Blade again. He waited for the brute to come fill him in, everything...

When Blade breathed in after a light sigh, he caught wind of Damean's scent just as he announced his presence to his daughter and the others around. When their king approached him, he sat up, much more attentive. When he turned his attention to Cinder, he thought back to what happened after he left... Ahhh... Well... he did have to know what was going on...

He watched Damean move off to the side before standing up, walking swiftly to him. When he stopped in front of the alpha, he said, "As you probably guessed, Cinder brought Petra back, and Cinder was placed under watch, for her safety more than ours. There are about three newcomers to my knowledge, but you should know something more important. From what I've seen, although Jaded might be able to tell you more, Exodus and Legend hadn't gotten along well at first... I believe it was Legend who started their... spar... and Exodus was trying to control him. As I stated, though, Jaded might know better, as she helped stop the fight."

He lowered his head slightly. "Other than that, everything's been quiet. That's all I have to report."

Her eyes had looked at Exodus expectantly as she waited for the young heiress to reply. She hoped she could get in a private word with her before the strangers tried to win her over with honey sweet words....Jadeds gut told her different. The latest seemed to think that joking of killing packmembers was acceptable. Well Jaded certainly did not. A breeze shifted and brought with it a scent that made Jaded's almost tremble.
Her emerald jewels looked upon the form that had caught her heart and joy filled it. She wanted to run to him, to play, like he had in the wood before he had left. But something was different. Jaded watched in silence as he took in Exodus's wounds and as he did a great guilt filled her. No it hadn't been Jaded's fault but he bade her to protect them and she felt that she had failed Damean in a way.

Her body stiffened as his gaze came upon her and it held in it hardness and distance. Her heart burst then with a thousand tears. She wrenched her gaze away and nodded in recognition of the proposed hunt. Which is what she had been trying to do when all the strangers and their strange ways came. She turned and almost winced when Blade had mentioned that she would know more about Legend and Exodus's falling out. Did Damean even want to see her ...were his words but lies on a honey toungue before he left or did something change? Her eyes glanced to Cinder as Damean asked her to join the hunt. Obviously she was in his good graces so she nodded at the tiny fem and padded off, catching Bloodeye's gaze once before she entered the trees. Her pace quickened and she broke into a lope. The sheep should still be either on their way to the watering hole or there. If she could catch them quickly enough she might be able to pin them against the sheer cliff and pick one off.

What had happened? She wondered as she forced her feet in motion. Her nose caught a scent beside her. It was the tiny fem, Cinder. She was coming along. Jaded didn't mind. Damean had wished it so. She wondered if Bloodeye or Petra would join them. She was hoping Blade wouldn't...he knew her secret and he would know exactly what was bothering her. Her pace slowed and she fell to a stalk. The wind was right and the sheep were close. Damn...she swore internally. The flock was moving out already. She looked to Cinder and signaled with her tail to circle around and be ready to push the remainder back when the time came. Creeping in closely she pushed all thoughts of Damean and her confused feelings aside. Cinder had dissapeared and anyone else who may have came would have been able to plainly see what the plan was. She lowered her body and was within a few yards of their intended quarry. The same color as the sand below she waited. Lucky for them some of the stragglers winding up the path were just that....stragglers. The very young and a few older ewes who were past their kidding time. Perfect...she thought.

She hoped that Cinder had made it around without anybody scenting her and that someone with a little more weight behind them would turn up at her side. She doubted Cinder could bring down a sheep by herself as tiny as she was....plus she was no Akiko although they almost matched size...Cinder being the smaller. Green eyes intense as she waited. Hoping some familiar scent would come upon her telling of the other's aid in the hunt....wishing deep down it was Dameans.

~Cinder~

Cinder was probably as happy as Damean's pack to see him stroll up. She was glad he returned from wherever he had been so quickly. Her silver eyes glanced behind him to see if Akiko was in tow but they were soon dissapointed. The white beta was not there. She sat quietly as she watched Damean check over his daughter and speak with Blade before coming to her. Cinder nodded and rose. It would do good to stretch her legs and prove to herself and Damean that she would not be useless as she resided here. She looked and caught the other green eyed wolf....Jaded... dissapearing into the trees. Obviously set to hunt. So Cinder took her swift paws and followed, quickly catching up to the sandy hued fem. She said nothing as she joined Jaded and expected nothing in return. Now that Damean was back she feared no harm from anyone as long as she minded herself and didn't cause trouble. They traveled quickly and Cinder expected more paws to join them at any moment. She saw and aknowledged Jaded's command and slunk off into the undergrowth that was becoming thicker as they got closer to the watering hole. The scent of sheep filled her nostrils and it made her mouth slaver. She had to stay absolutely silent and make sure they didn't catch her scent.

Her small form proved useful for once as she could slide in and out of the undergrowth with ease. She circled around and was careful not to let the warm desert wind blow her scent to the awaiting prey. She waited knowing that the signal would come soon for her to dart out and drive the sheep back toward the watering hole. Hopefully gaining them precious time to waylay the unwary. She waited muscles tense as the sound of sheep feet approached up the trail. The scuffing sound of their hooves on the rock and sand made Cinder want to bolt now but she held herself every muscle on edge.....waiting.

Finally it seemed that others might be up for a hunt, now that Damean had returned and commanded it. He was in power now, and the others could resume their usual duties, which included feeding the pack. She caught Jaded's look and nodded, following without hesiation. She noticed a couple others coming as well, but kept silent. She strode up beside Jade, watching as Cinder made her way to a different vantage point. Bloodeye took off in the other direction, finding her own position in the hunt.

Petra watched silently as the pack went about their business. And what seemed out of nowhere, Damean had returned. Her tassel swayed slowly, glad to see he had returned; he kept the pack in order so much better than anyone else, not that she had anything against his children. His son was just too headstrong, while Exodus was not experienced enough, though she'd done well with what she had to work with. She tried not to think about Jaded; the woman was too close to Blade for her liking, and she could not douse the burning flame of jealousy within herself. As Damean commanded that a hunt take place, she lit up with excitement. She had already done the healing required of her, and she was free to hunt.

She looked to Blade. Would he want to come, or was he busy with Damean. She padded over to him, flicking him shyly on the shoulder with her tail. "If you're not busy, you should join the hunt too," she suggested, smiling at him. Her leafy green gaze rested on him momentarily, then she turned and ran off, following the path that the other hunters had taken. She found Jaded alone, with the scents of Cinder and Bloodeye nearby. She silently padded up beside the femme, trying very hard to feel co-operative with the femme. The thought of the hunt made her negative feelings seem less important though, waiting for the moment when she could dash into the open and let her legs stretch into action. She briefly felt an ache in her heart; Zeek, her step-father, had taught her to hunt, but he had disappeared seasons ago. Ignoring it, she posed quietly, waiting...

Lifting her face to the heavens that shunned her, a gloating smile stretched across her fox-like face, while her elongated ears flattened against her head momentarily, as she enhaled so much vanity that it could poison one's mind. Even her name was in vain, and held true to her nature and character, Vanité. Turning her dark face, her gradient fur, of silvers, grays and blacks, bore a sheen of blue as it reflected the light above her, giving her a radiance that such a soul didn't deserve. It was time to infiltrate her enemies, hide in their clothing and speak to them in lies, so she could learn of them, all of them, and then... Destroy them. This was a tedious task, a stressful, and dangerous move, but she was willing to play it. She wanted this her entire life; power. It filled her to the brim with excitement, so much so that she could hardly stand in one spot. Gracefully, she strolled to the borders of this new land, and called, in her sweetly haunting voice, to the leaders of this land, to grant her entrance, and an orientation. If she played her cards right, knowing she would, she could pull this all off. After all, she was a great actress, Dezmond even trusted her, and what a foolish bastard he is. For now, she was his pawn, but soon enough, everyone would be crushed under her talons. It would take time, patience, for these wolves to love and trust her. No problem. Swaying her overly long tail, she smiled into the shadows, feeling a sensation of triumph in her chest already. Ah, she was vain indeed, and she enjoyed it.

Jaded

Petra's scent came to her nostrils and a slight furrow crossed her brow. She could still feel the uneasiness between them although she still didn't know how she had wronged the green eyed hybrid. She nodded acknowledgement and sent her a timid smile before slinking forward. Emerald eyes peeked through the undergrowth. The strong robust animals were already making their way back to safer ground. But there were a few stragglers. A large older ram with a snapped off horn was showing signs of age and there were two older ewes looking after what would probably be their last lambs.

She smiled darkly and flicked her tail in signal to Petra. Let's go...it said, and with that she bolted out from the undergrowth. Panic spred through the herd and the hearty were running well up the path to safety. But with Jaded's charge it sent the ram and older ewe's back toward the water. This will work.. Jaded thought as she dug her claws into the rocky sand gaining momentum. Her target would be the ram. He was the largest and would provide enough meet for many. The ram charged toward the water and turned, lowering his head. He wasn't going to make this easy was he? She knew that Petra would have more than likely seen the target she went after and Cinder and Bloodeye would be there too. Blood would be spilled...meat was at hand.

Cinder

Silver eyes watched as the healthiest moved along their worn path and trembled in anticipation. Then she saw a tawny flash and the sheep bleated and began to run. Springing from her hiding place she saw the intended victim and ran to place herself properly to inhibit his escape. Like quicksilver she ran and within moments she was in postition. That was one of Cinder's only real skills...she was fast...really fast. She closed in as she watched two older ewes plunge into the water with their lambs and the old ram turn to give Jaded a run for her money.

Darting over she came to assist in the kill. Knowing she may not be able to bring down the old ram herself but she was quick enough to dart in and out harrassing the poor beast so someone stronger would have an opportunity. Quick as a snake she darted in to turn the broken horned victim's attention to herself. Growling she snapped, snagging a piece of skin and then dashed away before the angry ram's horns could turn to do her harm.

Blood tasted on her tongue. She smiled.

The young hybrid caught the bashful smile that Jaded sent her way, and she returned it shyly, lowering her eyes. She couldn't help but to feel bad for despising her own packmate so unconditionally, while it was likely that Jaded had no intentions of getting between she and Blade. Could I be mistaken? she wondered guiltily, Just foolish and jealous? She sighed softly, but was jolted from her thoughts as Jade suddenly dashed off. She had carelessly missed Jade's signal, and was now behind. Still, she darted out of hiding and sprinted at top speed to catch up, noticing the target that the other had chosen. Just then Cinder came into the picture as well.

As her friend darted toward the ram and snagged at his skin with fangs, Petra darted to the ram's other side, nipping a hind leg and darting back out again. It was best that she and Cinder distracted the creature, for they were speedy and agile, while their hunting partners were stronger. Petra raced around in front of the ram now, barking ferociously in its face with teeth bared.

Bloodeye watched as the three others bolted from cover and took on the herd. The strongest took off, escaping danger, but the eldest were left behind. The old ram turned as though to distract the wolves from the others that were escaping; clearly this would be his last heroic act as a ram to his herd. Her orange-tipped tail flicked with amusement, then went stiff as she charged forward. Dark, blood-coloured eyes watched as the two quick-footed females took on the task of distracting the animal; it was up to she and Jaded to destroy it now. Bloodeye grunted with a nod of her head, signalling that she was going behind the ram. With Petra and Cinder distracting it, he wouldn't even notice her creeping up behind.

Once at a good vantage point, Petra viciously threatening the animal from in front, Bloodeye rushed towards its hind legs. With a violent snarl she clamped her jaws around the back of its leg and pulled back quickly, tearing through flesh and tendons. Blood sprayed, staining her coat, and the ram could do nothing but fall upon its haunches. She chuckled darkly, fangs dripping thick, liquid drops of scarlet. Her eyes gleamed maliciously, and she leapt onto the beast's back simply to hinder it more, and torture it with tooth and claw until it took its last breath...

~Jaded~

Tawny ears flicked forward as she watched Bloodeye's signal. Her body tensed in anticipation. Soon her gaze was rewarded as she saw the color of crimson splashed on the white fem's coat. Then without hesitation she watched Bloodeye continue her assault on the ram. The weight of the fea on the ram's back caused his legs to buckle and his head to throw high. Perfect....Jaded saw her mark and lunged.

Ivories sunk deep into his flesh, her bite was rewarded with blood. The pulsing liquid oozed on her tongue and clamped harder. The taste was heavenly but she didn't let the blood lust take her. She had to finish this kill and quickly. Jaws squeezed tighter once more and the pulse of the animals neck all but stopped. She felt the animal in her grasp surrender and the light dimmed from his eyes. She then released her quarry and looked to her accomplices. She grinned broadly and wagged her tawny plume. "Well done...we did it! The pack eats tonight!" She threw a look of gratitude to Bloodeye. Although Jaded and the fea had gotten off to a rocky start the fem pulled her own weight and gained status in Jaded's eyes. She let her eyes then rest on Petra for a moment, then let them drift to Cinder. She didn't want Petra to feel threatened under her emerald gaze. She wished the hybrid didn't hate her so, she wished she knew why. She had an inkling that it had something to do with Blade. If Petra only knew that Blade and she were only friends. Closer friends now that Blade knew Jaded's secret. He was a good brute but Jaded knew that he loved Petra. It had broken his heart when Petra had gone. She sighed softly and then realized that Cinder was giving her an odd look. She quickly shot the newcomer a smile of reassurance and then tipped back her maw pouring forth a haunting melody. "FOOD...COME...EAT..." it sang.

And the forest let out a heavy sigh the beast's were sated and everyone was safe once more....for a while.

Silver orbs danced as she watched the drama unfold. Bloodeye taking the creature down from the back and Jaded sealing the deal with an ivory kiss. As the ram's body fell she threw herself into the frey, just an extra set of teeth to keep the poor beast down. Soon it was over, all over. She looked to her friend, Petra, and smiled. Joy welled within her. A sucessful hunt. The pride of any pack. When Jaded's voice hit the air, Cinder lent hers too. Her song poured forth and her ashy tail wagged.

As her song faded her thoughts went back home. Here she was rejoicing with strangers and the one who held her heart was so far away. The joy fell from her eyes. Well that is why she was here. To better herself and hopefully make herself an asset instead of a hindrence. Oh Akiko...where are you?she thought with a hint of despair.

~Jaded~

Her friend Blade came into her line of sight and she wagged her tail in greeting but kept it subdued as Petra was present. Oh how she wished she could be with Damean as Petra and Blade were together now. He had been acting so strangely. She would seek him out, something was wrong...shey needed to speak. Tawny auds flicked forward as Blade turned to her and said something so softly that Jaded wasn't sure she heard it right. She felt numb.....Damean left...not sure he is coming back....Jaded heard Blade's apology. She knew it wasn't his fault she looked at him and all the light seemed to leave her eyes. She wanted to cry out No, NO, NOOOO and call Blade a liar but she knew deep down her friend wouldn't lie to her....not about this. She stood there in shock, not moving. Her tail dropped and she barely heard Blade telling her to come and eat. Her eyes unfocused gazed at him and then at Petra. Her maw opened and a ghostly reminder of her voice poured forth. "Pray, excuse me." She turned and ran.

She ran, her four feet grasping the ground swiftly. He cannot have left...No Damean please! The thoughts raced through her mind. Her nose searched to catch any new scent and all the one's she found were old. It was like he had never came home at all. Despair and desperation welled up inside of her. Anger soon followed. It felt like a whole pack of wolves was tearing at eachother inside of her. She ran on blindly. Akiko's howl fell upon deaf ears and Jaded was shocked when she almost collided with the white fem.

She looked at Akiko and trembled. Not in fear of the white fem but for the shock of it all catching up with her. She didn't speak or apologize for the near collision. She just looked at Akiko and the tears began to stream from her eyes. The white fem at least got to spend her time with Damean. All Jaded had was the memory from the wood and Damean's voice haunting her "Wait for me." Unable to contain it any longer she tore her empty gaze from Akiko and tipped her maw to the sky. The sadness in the song that poured forth was overwhelming. It told of overwhelming love that was lost, betrayl, sadness, anger.....all the feelings that warred within Jaded. She cried out hoping that if Damean heard her he would come home. It was desperation that made her do so...deep down she knew that if Blade said he had gone and wasn't coming home well....that it had to be truth. Why? she wondered Why? and then her trembling body collapsed to the ground.

Bloodeye pushed off from the ram's body as it fell to Jaded's deadly grip. When the creature was dead, she looked to her comrades, grinning with a bloody maw. She caught Jade's look of gratitude, and she dipped her head in recognition. They may not have gotten along to start, but she could see she was gaining a certain amount of respect, and in return Bloodeye could feel respect for her new packmates all the same. She lifted her head to join in Jade's howl of a successful hunt. As Blade approached them, Bloodeye began to dig in, assuming that the pack was coming to eat now. It seemed, however, that he had something to share with Jaded, which caused the femme to run off. She cocked her head, but kept eating, unsure of what had just happened.

Then a voice came to the air, with a powerful air about it. Bloodeye lifted her head, brow furrowing. Who could that be? She did not remember meeting the betess, and did not recognize the voice. But it seemed her packmates were unconcerned by the howl, meaning it was not an intruder, so she resumed tearing at the ram's flesh.

Petra watched as the hunt came to an end, her part in it done. She flashed Jade a small smile as her gaze briefly passed over her, still feeling guilty for her jealous hatred of the femme. Then she looked to her friend Cinder, and returned her smile. It seemed that they were all very pleased with the outcome of this hunt. She wished Blade had joined them on the hunt, but just then he showed up. Her heart fluttered as he smiled to her, and her tail wagged in return, leaf green orbs glowing. She caught the message in his eyes, but felt her hackles raise as he turned to Jaded. Auds perked to the quiet message he bore. Damean had gone?

Her jaws stood agape, wondering what would become of their pack if it went leaderless. Even more bewildering, however, was the way that Jade reacted to the news. Her voice seemed weak as she excused herself, turning to flee. She turned to Blade, tilting her head with a questioning look in her eyes. He had apologized, as if knowing the news would cause some reaction in her. Petra looked to her fleeting form. The sorrow and rage pulsing from her could only mean one thing; Jaded loved Damean, and now he was not returning. Petra felt her heart go out to the femme - she had been abandoned and left behind by many, and she knew and understood the sorrows of being left by the ones you loved. Petra looked down, then to Blade. She moved closer to him, looking onward to where Jaded had disappeared. "I know how she feels..." she said softly, "I wish I could help her.."

Suddenly a familiar voice rang through the air. Akiko had returned! Jabbar Junayd had not been completely forsaken. It gave her some comfort, but she still couldn't help wondering what they would do now. She supposed everything would be alright; this wasn't the first time a leader had abandoned this pack since she was born. Yet Akiko had always remained, seeing them through the times until a new leader was decided. "At least Akiko hasn't left us," she commented, then sighed. She couldn't shake the feeling of Jade's misery.

She hadn't reacted with violence, but Blade half-wished she had. Instead, Jaded had turned to run, possibly to try to chase him, track him down... something. He looked at the ground, but then Petra spoke up, speaking of how she could relate as she stepped closer.

By instinct, Blade stepped closer and gently touched his muzzle against her, replying, "Perhaps we should go after her? She ran in the direction of Akiko, but I doubt she realizes the situation. Besides, by what I've seen, Jaded will probably end up on the ground and not very willing to stand on her own. We need to have a meeting soon."

He said to the rest, "There are some matters that call our attention now. We'll give all of you the details very soon." He turned to race after Jaded, but looked at Petra; he had given her the option of accompanying him earlier. Turning back forward, he muttered, "Looks like it's too soon for our reunion..."

Instantly she reacted to the flying creature and lithely stepped aside to avoid the wolf that was hurling at her. No sooner did she realize that it was Jaded. Locking hues with the femmora her ears pressed to her skull in confusion. There was such horrendous despair in her eyes and the tears that flowed from her eyes was a testament to it as well. They must know then...she thought to herself. When she was coming back here she knew, she did not know how. But in her very bones and the core of herself she knew. Damean would not be returning and she would bet that when she got back to everyone else it would not include Legend or Exodus. Allowing Jaded to poor her soul out into the sky and collapse she looked down at the fem with what could be seen almost as disgust. Stepping closer to the fallen fem she stood over her. Not that she towered, no that term could never be applied to the small vix but she...loomed.

With a vicious snarl running behind her lyrics she snapped. "Pick yourself up Jaded. Pick yourself up and wipe your mug of your weakness. Hurry before anyone sees you in this sorry state." Growling again she snapped at her feet to get her motivated. "Do not shame Jabbar with such a display. Now get UP Jaded." Standing back she watched her mercilessly. "Your are not the only one who lost Damean." While she too felt hurt and betrayed by his leave she would not make such a folley as running away and crying. "Now is not a time to abandon your pack."

Petra stifled a frustrated whimper as Blade suggested they go after Jade, but she knew he was right. They had to do it. Now was not the time for them to sit about involved in just themselves; too bad it seemed never to be the time. Yet as much as fate tried to pry them apart, their mutual feelings kept them chasing each other.

The small, green-eyed hybrid rose to all fours and trotted after Blade, ready and able to keep whatever pace he set. They needed to find Akiko as well as Jade; the beta would know what to do when she found out what was going on...

~Jaded~

Twin auds pinned against her skull as Akiko snarled and began her verbal attack on Jaded. The words stabbed into the heart of her and twisted her despair into anger. She rose trembling but not because she was weak but because she was trying to contain the fury. She looked at Akiko with a cold emerald stare. Her voice was level when she opened her maw and then rose in tone. "How DARE YOU!" she snarled. "How DARE YOU say that I have abandoned my pack! I have been the one HERE the whole time. Not running off to other packs. I was not leaving the pack and HOW DARE YOU SAY I SHAMED IT!" Jaded's fury was unbridled now. She would not attack Akiko physically because she knew well of the white vix's prowess and it would do no good for house and home if they were caught lashing out with fang and claw. "How could you ever think I would be anything but loyal to the pack AKIKO? And I know I wasn't the only one who lost Damean......" she yelled and then abrubtly stopped. Her hackles lay down and she clamped her jaw.
She was not going to admit her feelings to the white fem, she wasn't going to add how she was robbed of her time with him....a promise never kept. She wasn't going to add that Akiko had her time with him and how jealous she was of her for that. Anger burned within her once more but this time she kept it in check. She knew that Blade knew her secret and now Petra, Akiko would guess she isn't stupid...but she wouldn't admit it to her.

Jaded felt over the years that Akiko was a sort rival for Damean's attention and deep down she wondered if Akiko loved Damean too? She sighed a heavy sigh....it would not matter now, he was GONE. She looked at the beta and green eyes still cold and distant. Then a look of shock came to them.....where were the heirs? Legend? Exodus? Deep down in her gut she knew. They went with their father. She inhaled deeply and caught no fresh scent of them and a new agony lit in her. She had felt like a mother to both of them. She held the emotion in check and opened her maw. Softly her lyrics poured forth.

"Well Akiko, it seems you are in charge now. They are all gone." Jaded flicked an ear and waited. She knew Akiko just might set teeth into Jaded's tawny hide for talking to her that way but Jaded didn't care. If she did she would have a full blown fight on her hands....Jaded might not be the victor but she would draw blood. What did she have to loose anymore? Fury still burned in her veins.

Cinder

The kill was a good one, Cinder was proud that she got to help. She turned her tiny ashen form to see Blade approach and say something to Jaded. Agony seemed to twist on the sandy colored fem's face and she fled. Cinder cocked her head. What on earth could have happened to make her react that way? Shifting her ears forward she caught a sound. Akiko had returned! Hope flooded Cinder's chest. Maybe finally she would be able to convince the white vix to train her and she could go home and be something to be proud of. Her thoughts went to Link. She hoped he was faring well, she hoped he could feel that her heart was still with him and that he was making progress on his voice. Cinder sure hoped that he would be able to speak again.

Her silver gaze fell upon Blade and Petra. Soon they were headed out too. Curious? Something must be wrong. Cinder thought silently to herself.

Blade soon was able to slow to a walk as Jaded and Akiko's scent told him they were just ahead. He hadn't caught all of Jaded's words, but know Akiko knew what happened, and reacted. Knowing her... it didn't bode well on Jaded's mind, as her emotional wounds were still fresh- if Akiko realized Jaded's feelings or not towards Damean. Either way probably wouldn't have mattered.

He started hearing them clearly when Jaded yelled something about being loyal to the pack. Clearing his throat as he entered, just to be sure both knew of his and Petra's presence, he stepped next to Jaded and said, "Welcome back, Akiko. The rest of the pack fell some prey if you want to eat and greet them." He paused before adding, "I doubt the pack is aware of Damean or his chilrden's absence yet. As beta, I'm sure you'll be assuming leadership while we decide the upper ranks again." He knew Akiko knew this last statement already, but it was his way of getting everyone to be thinking of what they should do- not yelling at one another and end up doing something they'd regret.

Watching Jaded with her own cool unreadable eyes Akiko did not become offended by her remarks. She watched as anger won out over despair, pushing strength into the vix's limbs. Good, at least she is not spineless. Such a display was not something the other wolves needed to see, regardless of any sorrow that she might have felt. Another wolf would see this as a weakness and Fenris knew that the pack was only as good as its weakest member. Not that she was the weakest member... It would be unfortunate if word were to spread about Jaded's breakdown. Not that her howl had not signaled something was wrong anyways. Of course she knew that Jaded loved Damean, the subtle way she looked at him did not escape her scrutinous eyes. And while Jaded would not admit her love Akiko felt no need to explain that she was visiting her sisters newborn pups.

When she snapped off her tirade she could almost see the fem deflate but she did not look like she would collapse again. Aud turned and eyes flicked to where Blade made himself known. Hues landed back on Jaded and by Blade's tone he had caught some of the conversation. And misunderstood what was going on considering his tone. He seemed to have decided that Jaded needed saving considering where he was standing and his attempt to divert them into something less...engaging. Honestly she did not care if this marked her down in Blade's eyes. Once Jaded realized what she had just done for her she would understand why and thank her. Good thing too considering the arrival of Blade. Such a revalation of vulnerabilty was not a good thing amongst wolf packs.

Nodding to Blade to placate him she held her eyes on Jaded. "I shall eat and then I will gather the pack and we shall discuss...everything. I expect both of you to be there." This was more directed at Jaded cast with a hard but meaningful glance in her direction. Then she padded away, passing Petra on the way out she tilted her dial to them fem and kept going.

Finding the kill only took a few minutes, the scent of it was heavy in the air and the birds were already circling. There was one fem standing with it. Unfamiliar so she assumed that it was just a newcommer. Comepletely ignoring her she went right up to the carcass, put a worn pad on it and began to rip away flesh in a strangely neat manner. Blood on a white pelt was always something of a trial to get rid of....

Petra came up beside Blade, allowing him to do the talking. He was better with these sorts of things, with a calm personality that was difficult to rile. She merely wagged her tail to Akiko, though she did not expect the femme to return it. She felt small and childish next to the others, having never taken on responsibilities like they had. She was merely a hunter and healer, probably the best of her ranking, but she never grew out of her shyness, and need to follow rather than lead. But she supposed there must be leaders and followers in every pack.

Once the conversation had ended, Petra tipped her head to the Beta female as she took her leave. Then she glanced to Blade and Jaded; what would they do now?

The creamy coloured vixen lifted her head as Akiko approached the kill confidently. She licked her chops, staring warily at the white femme. It may have been the wolf that had howled not long ago, but how was she to know? Taking several steps toward her, Bloodeye spoke guardedly, "Who are you?" she asked, tail swishing into a raised position. Her brow raised questioningly; if this wolf was not one of the pack, merely an overconfident loner, Bloodeye would not hesitate to chase her off. This kill had not been made to share with foolish rogues.

Chunk of meat in her jowls she raised her head slowly and looked at the fae with her icy caverns. Swallowing the meat she licked her kissers continuing to stare at Bloodeye. Now that she really looked at her she noticed that she had seen her briefly before she had departed. Surely she would not presume to intimidate the beta of the pack? But it was clear that she did not recognize Akiko as such. "I might ask you the same thing vix." Raising her own banner in a higher gesture, her whole body held a dominant pose. "I am the beta and at the moment the alpha as well." She wondered if she would get another arrogant wolf who would judge her for her size. Not that many of those came around any more. Most learned before now her capabilities.

Bloodeye stood in position, staring with fiery crimson spheres. For a moment they locked eyes, fire and ice, watching in silent scrutiny. Past-queen did not give way, not until words were spoken and clarity given to the situation. Still, her tail did not lower, but it did not raise higher than the alter femme's. "Very well," she replied coolly, "My name is Bloodeye. I dot not remember meeting you... your name, betess?" She attempted to keep respect in her tone, having no intention to antagonize the vix. However, her mind wandered from the present, wondering what could have happened to Damean that had caused the beta female to claim an alpha's title.

Had he died, or been murdered? Or had he simply abandoned them? Fury made her lips raise and she stared off into the woods, hoping that the ivory femme was not taking the gesture personally. No, Bloodeye had no problem with the betess, it was the ditchers and betrayers that she despised. During her reign as a queen she had seen too many traitors and leavers. Wolves promising loyalty, then turning for her throat when she least expected it. Snorting, she came to a conclusion. Damean was no longer a great King, but the dirt beneath her paws; she hoped that she might one day find his grave so she could spit upon it.

She put a lid on her anger for now, and turned back to Akiko. Perhaps she should find out the truth before she let her thoughts run rampant. Huffing, she parted her jaws once more, stating a question, "If you are our leader for the time," she began, "Then what has become of Damean and his progeny?" The wolf had already been gone from his pack for so long that she wouldn't feel bad for her thoughts even if he were to return.
