Virtuous hearts; Tirisfal Valley

Silent smiled towards Ajax as he instantly said his mother would take care of them, and he and his brother would help them grow up. What determination this young boy had. Hardly older than her own pups, but he wanted to take on the responsibility of teaching them. She couldn't help but chuckle, though her breath came weakly. She washed her tongue over each pup's face, smirking at Ajax, wondering how he'd respond after he'd complained at his own mother. Then she got up, separating herself from her adorable offspring. She did not want to leave them, and this task suddenly felt impossible. But it was for the good of everyone else. Her mate, so he needn't worry that she wasn't going to make it. For the good of her pups, who would learn nothing under the lead of a blind, useless wolf.

Sighing, she said nothing as she left the den, knowing not what she could say. This was not a situation she had hoped for, and she felt her dreams had been crushed, and nothing would ever make her happy anymore. Yet, she needed to continue on to make others remain happy. She moved out of the den, and moved back towards Nuri's scent. Her whiskers told her when she was near her mate, and she felt the presence of his being radiate from him. It was different not to see, and to depend on the other senses that had seemed once so insignificant. Pressing against her mate, she could say nothing, ashamed and heartbroken, knowing this was her only option.

Doctor watched Storm Call move out with the rest who were hunting. Waiting until they had started to move and that Chimera was out of hearing range, he glanced at those remaining, including Nephritides and Negro Diablo. He said quietly to them, "As you both might know, Silent's recovering. If I may, I ask of Negro Diablo to be the primary healer while I am assuming beta position. I will merely oversee and help out if my assistance is required. I don't know any of you siblings that well yet. Nephritides, you seem to be good with pups from what I see, so if another attack happens, I want you to help the mothers keep the pups safe, even if it comes to the point of moving them out of the lands. What strengths do you have so I can assign you a more active task?" Already, he had an idea, but he wanted to make sure his idea would be suitable. He glanced towards the retreating wolves who were going to hunt. He knew what he'd ask Cardinal to do already. Fighting alongside a wolf would give anyone used to war a good impression of who their comrades are.

Chimera


Ordinary yellow orbs caught Storm Call's emotionless gaze for a moment and then she looked back to the one called Cardinal. She gave a friendly tailsway and stepped forward to join the hunting party. She drew near Cardinal to follow where Storm Call lead since he was the leading the way. She glanced ahead down the trail and then looked back to Doctor and the other's tipping her head in a respectful manner. "I am guessing your lands are thick with prey." She said making conversation as they waited for Storm Call to move out. "It's beautiful country here." A compliment falling from her lips.

Her belly growled in anticpation of the hunt, quite loudly as if giving validation to her story. She gave a soft chuckle at her self. "Well you know what they say....empty bellies make for swifter paws."

As Cardinal spoke, his eyes flickered, hearing an unfamiliar name, although he guessed it was a newcomer, and didn't comment upon it. He nodded when he finished speaking and said, "Go ahead. I'll remain here in case others show up." He slightly tilted his head to look at another. "Nephritides, you may join Cardinal's party, or remain here if you wish." He did eventually want to speak with her and some of the others, but that, at the moment, could wait until their leisure. He wasn't too worried about those who weren't present, but debated when he should look for those in the pack not accounted for. As far as he could tell, they were still in the lands. It made him wonder if they should decrease their size of their territory for the time being. His mind thought to each wolf in the pack.

Doctor knew he didn't have to worry about healing as much now, since hearing Alaina's return. As far as he remembered, she might have been a healer also, so the pack should be secure enough with her, Negro Diablo, and himself, even if he managed to throw himself in the midst of trouble and danger. He would really like to go out of the lands to collect information, but that was impossible, or at least, very dangerous with both alphas off to the side for the time being and him being appointed beta. He had to think of pack safety first now. Maybe at another point of time he could, but now.

He listened to the answer of his question, and replied, "Perhaps," not really giving an affirmative or negative. Since they were close to where he had called for the pack, he stopped asking questions, not having any that were pressing. He spotted Cardinal and Nephritides first. Doctor had thought he'd be gone longer, but it seemed not. He wasn't too concerned Teagan wasn't present, as Robin had told him she had taken off after Robbie, who was still probably very distressed. He'd rather it if the younger was with Robin, though.

He continued walking, nodding towards those present, and explained, figuring they might be curious, "This is Chimera, and she will be resting in these lands as a guest, as she had brought us a message from her pack, which happens to be quite some distance outside these lands. I'd like to wait for everyone to be present, although that's not currently possible, so I'll explain things more in depth on a more one-to-one level as I also assign tasks. Nuri, for the moment, has appointed me beta while he is preoccupied. Since recent events, I'd prefer everyone to be in range of another packmate for the time being. Also, sometime after this meeting, we're going to find Robin. I sent him with his children ahead so they can find a place for Koda's funeral, and thought it best for the pack to visit when they were more... composed." He bowed his head briefly, in respect of Koda. "But, before we visit them, if you have questions just ask. Otherwise, I ask for some of you to go on a hunt with Chimera." He wasn't too certain how much information he wanted to release to those who arrived after Nephritides and her siblings. One reason being that it would be improper to burden another who had barely been here if it can be helped.

Chimera


Grey auds flicked forward at the wolf named Doctor's words. She nodded and would walk next to him further into the lands. "Oh I understand completely." She said. "I wouldn't expect it any other way. We do things like that in our lands as well." Chimera smiled and swayed her tail. "It's safer by all means." She nodded as he told of the meeting and of the hunt. "I can help. I am weary but driven if it comes to meaning a meal." She chuckled in a friendly manner.

As they approached the pack, Doctor spoke a phrase. She flicked an ear curious to what it meant. Then another question hit her ears. "Our lands lay across the dark jungles. Out of the lands of fire and Ice." She sighed almost wistfully. "I miss home...the lake...oh how the moon shines upon it's mirrored surface." She said and closed her yellow eyes. "News travels faster than the crow flies Doctor. You would be surprised what things we hear of these lands." She smiled and let her tail sway.

Doctor listened to her message, a bit anxious at the thought of this idea. He had questions, but it couldn't hurt to let her remain in the lands as long as she was with others at all times, could it?

"I have questions, but we shall discuss them while we walk back. I had already gathered the pack for a meeting, but we can introduce you as a guest before I speak with the pack. You have permission to remain in these lands while you rest, but since we had unsuspecting, hostile wolves lately, I would prefer it if you remained with at least one other pack member at all times, since I actually was going to suggest everyone in the pack to not stray off by themselves. If it's ok, after the meeting, I'll ask some of the pack to organize a hunt. From a glance, it doesn't appear that you're suffering from anything from your travels."

Turning back slightly towards the pack, he said with a grin, "Allons-y," and turned to walk, seemingly not caring if Chimera would understand that little phrase or not. He paused to wait for her to catch up before settling into what should be a comfortable pace for a weary traveler and asked, "May I ask where your pack is? I must admit, if your pack isn't from any of the territories here, it's interesting if news had traveled that far already."

Chimera


Yellow eyes studied doctor for a moment and then nodded with a smile. "Very well doctor." She said and let her tail sway gently. She stood and shook her ordinary grey pelt. "I am relaying an offer from my Queen. She has heard that there has been trouble stirring in the lands of Fire and Ice and is offering her aid. She sent me to gather up wolves who wanted to learn ways of defending their packs." She said and smiled, her tail swaying excitedly and her ears flicked forward . "She is very generous and kind." she said honestly for in her heart Chimera felt she was.

She flicked her ear to the side and sat down again. "Doctor?" she asked. "Would it be possible if I rested my paws here for a few days as well? I am weary the journey from home is a long one and I have scarcely had time to hunt." She blinked her yellow eyes. "If not I do understand a lot of packs do not grant sanctuary to strangers in times like these." She let her tail sway some more and smiled once again.

He looked at her for a second, just enough to think about his answer, before saying, "Well, Chimera, neither of our alphas are available at the moment, but I have the next best position, if that's acceptable for the recipient of your queen's message." Doctor's expression softened somewhat at her smile, and he waited for a response. She had an interesting name, one he hadn't heard before, but some parents liked giving odd names. His home pack had those parents. It may have been some tradition, since by the sound of it, everyone had an odd name. Doctor quickly snapped his attention back to Chimera, not wanting to let himself draw back into a flashback. Who knew what kind of impression that would give.

Chimera


Yellow eyes turned to greet the male that broke through the treeline to come and greet her. Her auds flicked to the side and she lowered her tail in deference to the male, showing her submission. She tipped her dial in greeting and gave a soft smile. "Greetings Doctor." She said sweetly. "My name is Chimera. I am a messanger from my queen." She said. Her demenor showed nothing of agression, perfectly friendly. "Is one of your Alpha's availible to speak with?" she asked.
