She had thrown herself at him and her tail wagged so quickly it looked like it would soon fly off her rear. "OH DADDY! I am so glad you are home!" she yelled and then she saw the scratch on his nose and looked to her mother. Tiny auds flicked forward when her father spoke to her brother. Just a scratch....she beamed a smile up at her dad and then romped over to Robbie and pounced on his serious self. "See Robbie.....it's just a scratch, Daddy is okay." She tugged gently on his ear. She, even for all their squabbling, loved her brother dearly. Then looking to her parents she heard the "I love you's" and giggled. Then a growl came from her belly. They hadn't finished eating yet and her mouth was craving the new sensation of blood instead of mother's milk. Getting off her brother she looked toward her parents. "C'mon lets go eat!" she said enthusiastically.

"Oof! It's good to see you too, Jewel," Robin laughed, despite his wound. He glanced at his son, paused in mid-step, and smiled warmly. "I'm okay, Robbie. Like your mother said, just a scratch."
Like a good patient he followed her to the den. "I'm sorry I was gone for so long," he apologized, ears lying a little back. Round, crimson orbs watched her scuffle in her herbs, choosing the right ones. When she looked at him - eyes, piercing blue, periwinkle love - his heart won over. "I'll never be gone for that long again."
His words were as true as silver. "You know I love you."
(OOC: Wow, I haven't done this in. . . forever. Apologies if it's kinda lame. . . And what about Zeff? Is Kippy still going to play him, or did she leave?)

| Ali smiled as her pups dug into the meat, their enthusiasm a foreshadowing to the hunting lessons that would come. It was a beautiful day, very near perfect. She sighed, content to merely sit and watch her pups enjoy the base thrill of the hunt and kill. It distracted her.
Suddenly, however, she caught wind of a scent upon the breeze, and she sat up immediately, ears perked attentively. Yes, yes! He was home, he was finally home! With a happy bark she practically leapt to her feet and greeted him, affectionately pressing her head to his neck. When he spoke, she looked up, and her eyes widened as she saw the scratch on his muzzle. It wasn't serious, yet still, the sight of blood on him made her stomach clench.
"What happened? What kept you away?" She knew it must have been something violent, for the wound was a clue in itself. She spoke as she walked, leading him away into the den. She would put something on his muzzle, and then he could eat. He had to be starving. She was interrupted, though, as her children found out that their father was back. She was startled as Jewel let out a loud yell, and she had to laugh as their daughter flung herself upon Robin. Robbie came at a bit more sedate a pace, though not much, but when he noticed the wound Ali saw him stop. She smiled at Robbie reassuringly, noting that her son looked at her for confirmation. "Your father's fine, it's just a scratch." She knew that she herself was crazy to worry, yet still she did.
When they got to her den, she stopped, looking at him. "I was worried sick. We all were," she murmured, licking his ear. She knew that Jewel and Robbie both had picked up on her mood, though they may not have thought much of it. "I'm glad that you came back safely." So many things could have occurred, and every one of them had run through her mind. Never leave again, her eyes told him, even though she knew it was bound to happen. Then she ducked into the den, gathering up some cleansing herbs. She needed to clear out any infection that may have set in.

| Auds pricked at the call, for all the new arrivals. Lanterns blinked and shifted about the area, looking in the direction of the call. Lifted up she tred only a bit closer, looking forward. So, they were busy. Not hard to go instead of wait. Orbs flicked in the direction of the other new comer, but averted back to the call. Ai padded forward, pressing through the green her white frame exposed to anything. Lanterns shifted about, she was a little cautious. Though there was no need. Ai relaxed a bit, before pressing on. Letting her pillars carry her to just before an opening, the scent of other wolven was strong. She didn't doubt they could already see her, if not smell. Ai broke through the green slowly, and looked about. A little shy, but she tried to push it away. Her gaze fell upon the group, all eating. So, it was why she had been called to arrive. She smiled lightly, before emerging fully from the forest. Ai blinked, moving forward rather slowly. The shy attitude still in her, she cursed it a bit. She felt like she was making a fool of herself. She mentally shook off the attitude, and moved forward a bit more. Orbs scanning the wolves for an alpha, the one who had called. | |

| Doctor was about to join in to eat when an unfamiliar scent reached him. Clearly, the others knew who it was, as the pups were running towards that direction. The first thing that caught his eye, though, was the minor wound on... their dad, as he gathered, but none of the adults were paying much attention towards it and it didn't appear to be infected, so he supposed it was fine. It was clear in this case, anyways, that healing the natural way would probably be better. Without a second thought, he returned back to where his attention had been, and ripped some of it from the carcass. Then he moved a short distance away to give others room.

| Robbie was turning to pursue his sister when suddenly like the way she always did was distracted. Turning his head he felt a burst of elation. Their father walking into the clearing. “Father!” He cried just about the same time as his sister. He began to run over to his parent racing Jewel there but stopped when he saw the blood on his father’s muzzle. “Father? Are you okay” His face was a mask of fear. What had happened to him? He looked at his mother anxiously and a whine escaped his muzzle. He knew that he shouldn’t show his fear...that doing so showed his weakness but he couldn’t help it.

Jewel worried at the elk's throat some more and lapped at the sustaining blood. It seemed to send little bolts of excitement through her veins and she wished to dig her tiny pearl fangs into the creature's flesh some more. She giggled and shot Robbie a glance and was about to run over to him pell mell but for a familiar scent tickling her nostrils. It had come slowly for all the blood but it was there. She whipped her head around and focused her two toned jewels and they found their target.
"DADDY!" she barked and then she sent a short soprano howl to get her brother's attention. Then her ivory pillars set in motion. "Daddy, daddy!" she cried as she loomed closer. She was so thrilled to see him and it had seemed he had been gone forever! She had also picked up little bits of her mother's worry but all that was aside now! Daddy was home and she was about to give him the biggest puppy greeting he had ever had!

He whimpered when he licked the blood from his muzzle.
The coyote had attacked him in a blind spot, prowling like the screwy creature she was. She and a couple of other rogues had been testing the border's edges for some time now, trying to sneak in and see how far they could get without getting caught, as if it were a game of ding-dong-ditch. It annoyed Robin, really, because it had distracted him from his original task of just refreshing the boundaries. The duty had taken an entirely different direction.
Robin was headed home now. He needed it, he knew. The sickle-shaped cut on his muzzle was deep, the coyote having swiped her claw at him when she was trying to get away. Though he was not a typically violent wolf, he had bitten her back leg and left quite the wound, telling her to stay out of the territory. He had spent the night after the attack and she did not return. His muzzle had slightly scabbed over, but it was itchy and he had scratched it - he could only think that it was itchy because of infection settling in.
The alabaster bru entered the familiar terrace when Snowfall was making a call to all newcomers. He hoped to briefly catch her eye and acknowledge his return, but focused more on approaching his wife, the healer. He quickly approached.
"Ali, I'm sorry I was gone so long, I need your help," he said, brow creasing. He had the urge to itch his muzzle again, but restrained himself. A part of him didn't want her to worry too much. "A coyote got me. Don't worry! It's just my muzzle, I'm fine everywhere else."

| Silent went over to sit by Nuri, flicking her tail into the air before seating herself. For a couple weeks now, she had known by emotional changes and feelings that the season was coming. It had finally come. She didn't need to look to him to know that he would notice. Instead she watched the pups run and romp around the felled elk. Already they were learning how prey was to be taken down, Jewel making it obvious by biting at the throat. She smiled, longing for her own litter, and knowing that it would come soon enough. She glanced to Ali as the femme came over, and the alphaess nodded her head. "A wonderful effort by the pack," she commented, "Let us all eat." She stood, gazing around the clearing first. Their pack seemed to have dwindled, but the scent of newcomers was on the air; when would they show themselves? Silent had invited them with the sound of her voice. And yet another newcomer's call reached her auds now. She sighed, feeling an abnormal twinge of impatience. She and her pack had not eaten in some time, and she was hungry, imagining that her packmates were hungry too. Lifting her head, she called again. She was howling to all who were new, inviting them to the pack's feast. She was in no mood to leave their catch with everyone's bellies rumbling, including her own, and she wouldn't send someone else to greet the newcomers. They must come to the pack this time. Silent surged forth, inviting her pack to eat with a flick of her tail, releasing her intoxicating, dominating scent into the air. Deadly, carefully used fangs dug into the belly of the elk, beginning the feasting. | |

Hearing her brother's boasting she snorted and then leaped over the dead animals head and buried her needle teeth into the beasts already bloody throat. She growled fiercely only letting go of her hold on the elk's throat to yell back. "NO YOU WON'T!! You have to bite the throat like Silent did to kill it. SEE like ME!" Then she went back to worrying the carcass. Her puppy fur was getting full of blood but the young fem was relishing in it. The taste and smell. This was what it was to be a wolf. Tipping her head back she howled her delight. She then ran pell mell around the body and as she rounded her brother she reached out and nipped his flank before darting away.

| Her white frame stood out in the land, and would undoubtably draw attention from any nearby creatures. Blue hues pierced through the land, as they searched about. She had finally left the land that would be hers, in search of new lands. Ai had been granted the role of heir, but she had little interest in her home lands. She wasn't even born to the alphas themselves, but her own mother had died at birth. So the alphess took her in as her own, for she was infertile. It was hard for the alphas knowing their only heir was leaving, and Ai felt bad for doing so. Though, she knew she needed to. She felt out of place there, oddly. Considering her pelt suited well with the land, as did everyone elses. Except for one male, who was to be alphen. No doubt he would take the role. Ai had no interest in the male, and he was just another reason to leave. She was not about to be mated with someone she did not know, or care to like. Ai was the kind of fem that prefered finding a mate on her own, one that she could really care about.
This land, it was different. Exotic compared to the desolate wasteland of snow and ice she was used to. It had trees and a thicket. Sure, the Everwinter had trees, but they were more like piercing icicles. Ai couldn't lie that she missed her homeland already, but it didn't matter. She would move on, get over the empty Everwinter lands. Live a new, an entirely her own, life. Shin'Ai padded lightly across the terra, blue hues still scanning about. She had heard the call of another wolf, and smirk slightly. So she wasn't the only one interested in these lands. Ai could wait her turn, the other wolf had been there first. Raising her maw she let out her own lyrics, calling and telling the wolven of the land of her appearance. Why not inform them? Let them decide who to go to first, Ai was rather patient.

| As soon as Silent wagged her tail giving permission like his sister he was in full step towards the hunting party. Barking excitedly he took a couple of nips at his sisters flank. But unlike his sister he didn't go right to the carcass. Instead he pressed his nose to the ground and began sniffing the ground where it had been dragged and left a trail. His tail wagging excitedly as he memorized the scent about the hunt. As soon as he was finished he ran to the elk. Laughing at his sister he grabbed the little fluff of a tail and barked. "Bet I'll be better!" he ripped the tail back and forth pretending to be a savage hunter.

She nodded excitedly at her brother and as he stepped forward it set her paws in motion. Her puppy paws broke in to a run and she barked excitedly. She circled the elk as she didn't want to get in Silent's way of dragging and came around behind. She was so excited that she echoed Silents howl with her own soprano one.
She looked happily to Robbie and then bounded over to the elk carcass after the alphess had dropped it. The smell of it made her saliva run and she yipped excitedly. Creeping up to the elk's belly she sniffed cautiously and then nipped at the fur with needle teeth. When the large meal didn't move she barked once more and looked back toward her mother. She hoped she wouldn't be chided but she just couldn't help herself. She howled again excitedly and then ran around to the animals head.
Grabbing the elk's ear she growled fiercly and yelled "Look, I am going to be a good hunter too!"

| Doctor first smelled the scent of blood, luckily not a fellow wolf. Hearing silent call, he looked up, seeing the elk they had taken down. Standing up, he started toward the hunting group that followed her, wondering when the last time he ate elk was. It was probably since the last time he'd visited a pack, since elk were a difficult prey alone. Even the ones almost dead could give a lone wolf a struggle. When he stopped, he looked around in directions the others might be likely to come from, looking forward to see the size of the pack when all grouped together. Size didn't matter- he was just a curious wolf despite his appearance.

| Silent let go of her hold momentarily to reply to Nuri. "When we get this to camp, I will invite the newcomer to join us," she informed him. She thought she might as well show some hospitality to a new member. She enjoyed being kind to others, and this was the perfect opportunity to show someone that there was good in the world. She plodded onward, just then picking up the shrill voices of Ali's two pups. Just then she saw Robbie coming this way. She wagged her tail to him, letting him know that it was okay to come for a look. She could tell by the gleam in his and Jewel's eyes that they were excited as ever, and she couldn't blame them. The first hunt, whether it be joining in or just for observation, was one of the most amazing things in a young wolf's life. As they moved closer, Silent was sure to steer clear of the pups, so they would not get in the way and become trampled or trapped under the heavy body. Expecting that the others would follow, the Alphaess continued their trekk to the mainlands. She tried not to move too quickly for those who were tired, including herself. She stopped at the edge of the clearing where wolves usually gathered, and dropped her hold on the elk. She could see Doctor lounging about, waiting for his wounds to heal. She knew very well how much patience that could take. "Doctor, come join us!" she called over to him, "We have a wonderful feast here for all." Feeling glad that the pack could come together to fill their bellies, she lifted her maw to the sky. She howled for the success of their hunt, and she howled to invite whomever had stumbled upon their territory to join them... | |

| He heard the voice of a new wolf in the air, but didn't move. It wouldn't be a good idea, since he was still wounded. Not that noticeable, but impressions count, and sending a hurt pack member wouldn't be a good step. Laying on his side, he twisted to look at the puncture again, impatient for it to heal. Even Doctor had seen some of the territory, he wanted to see more... at a fast pace. He rolled back to a sitting position. It was too quiet in his opintion at the moment, but tried to get himself out of that thinking. He had been a wanderer and got into lots of trouble. Now he had to relearn the peaceful ways he once lived, although it was be a difficult transition. He was relaxed at the moment, but always on the alert for the trouble that seems to follow him like a magnet... Then again, many times when a slight air of trouble comes, he chases after it...

Jewel's two toned eyes grew wider and wilder as she watched the hunt begin. She felt the instincts pull at her and her body trembled in want of joining in. She looked at her brother and her hybrid eyes sparkled with delight. She couldn't wait until she was there alongside Silent and Nuri. She stood up and took a couple steps further to watch as the elk, such a large a mighty creature was overcome by her packmates. Such power the wolf had! And she was one of them.
She looked at her mother. The rest of the elk herd vanished and the body one of their own lay still. "Mother! Can I go see up close? PLEEASE!?" Jewel bounced up and down in one spot. She so wanted to go and smell all that their was to smell and sink her needle teeth into a piece of that elk. She let out a high pitched howl of excitement and dashed to her brother. "Robbie wants to go too! SEE?" She looked at her brother and shouldered him playfully. He could be so serious at times but if he had felt the way she just had she knew it was what he wanted too.

| Silent kept an eye out as the others came to her aid, and as they seized different parts of the elk's body, she let go. As it fell, she grabbed onto its throat, digging her fangs into the soft windpipe, ending its life swiftly. She placed its head down and gave a slight dip of the head, as though thanking it for the food it would give to her pack. Then she looked to her packmates. "Good hunt," she said strongly, flashing them each a smile, "Let us return to camp. The pack will be glad to eat well." She grabbed the elk right under the chin, waiting for the others to take their hold before she began dragging it back with them. | |

| The tagua decor around her throat chimed against her chest as she ran, and with speed of the cold winds, her paws trampled the earth as she abandoned the land behind her. It was time to move on, to venture further into the world, she had all the knowledge she needed; she was ready. As the odd melody of the sleek ebony garnish that draped around her neck filled her ears, memories of the night she had received the man-made item were recreated. A few moons to pass, she had been living near an Indian tribe, a band of unique humans that she had seen a few times in her short life. After some time, falling into a month's time, the humans seemed to take a keen interest in her; the wolf with half a tail, so white and pure, with eyes of ice. They were intrigued. She was brave, strong, and enchanting. Eventually, they began to think her a spirit, the daughter of one of their deities.
On a night that was bitter, and the ground was coated in frost, a young black bear had come near the humans' settlement, and she chased it off to protect her life, and theirs as well. They had allowed her to stay nearby, and they had given her raw meet outside their borders, and she appreciated their generosity towards her. This act of hers brought the tribe to be further fascinated with her. After she ran off the easily frightened bear, one of the humans tried approaching her, with something in his hands, and was muttering soft words to her, as if beckoning her to him. She felt not to be afraid, she knew deep inside she should run, but a nagging feeling told her not flee, and so she cautiously approached the human. The humans thought she understood them, but that was no true, and when she approached, some of the humans standing in the village stared in awe as she approached their chief.
However, as much as she wanted to dart away when the large human, his head dressed in feathers, moved to put something around her neck, she stayed still. Then, the necklace, shaped into long, numerous black teeth, hung around her collar. After adding the ornament, he pulled a few speckled feathers from his headdress and touched at her mane. At first she tensed up, and took a step back, but realized he wasn't harming her. Quietly, she stood there, as he tied several feathers into the back of her neck. Confused, but interested, she looked up to the human as he stepped away, finished with his ritual, and she whimpered gently to him before rushing off into the forest. After that night, the tribe never saw their 'spirit' wolf again.
She had been blessed and shown gratitude by humans, based upon the way she looked and what she was. It was rather amazing really, and the experience gave her a feeling of empowerment. Now, today, she was traveling. The time now was to find a home for herself, and she felt that nearby, she would find it, as a scent of other lupine had drifted into her nose and caught her attention. She pressed onward, lured in by the smell of her own kind, a new smell, one that brought the sensation of kindness to her heart. These were good wolves, or at least it seemed that way. This land may be a good place for her, and her talents. Reaching the boundaries of the territory, marked by the Alpha pair, she sniffed at their markers, and then proceeded to lift her head. Parting her maw, she let loose a soft note, asking for the Alphas, and letting them know she was at their border. Hopefully, they would come, and they would accept her.

| Ali smiled when Jewel obeyed her, thankful that the pup wasn't so rebellious as to not listen. She loved her daughter's spirit and exuberance, but sometimes it was wearying. Ali opened her mouth to respond to Doctor's question when Silent began. She fell silent, vowing to thank the bru later for his offer to watch her pups for a little while. At the sound of Muerta Mountains, though, a cold shiver went down her spine, and she felt a protective rush. Just let them try and come around again. She would rip the throat out of any wolf who tried to get near her pups with harm in mind.
Jewel, ever the curious one, asked her about the speech. She shook her head. "Muerta is a pack full of bad wolves, dear. They have to pay because, when someone does something wrong, they must be shown that it isn't the right way to do things." She didn't try and explain in detail, knowing how fast the Jewel would lose interest.
A hunt. How she yearned to go along! However, she knew she couldn't. The pups were not quite old enough to come along and participate. However... was there any harm in them coming and watching? Maybe it would give them some insight into what it truly meant to be a part of the pack. Before she could respond, though, her son woke up. She grinned. "Robbie's right, Jewel. You two aren't quite old enough to help out yet. I don't suppose there is any harm in watching, though, is there?" Hopefully this would satisfy Jewel.
"Come on, let's find a good spot." This would be a lesson, one of the first of many the young wolves would begin in order to learn how to survive. Instincts only went so far. As a mother, she knew it was partially her duty to fulfill these needs. Robin too would take part, that is, if he were here. She pushed away concerns about her mate's well-being, though she missed him terribly. He was fully capable of taking care of himself.
"Do you see how they spread out, sort of surrounding the herd? The pack must work together, a single unit, in order to bring down something as large as an elk. There is always danger, even with the most sick and weak of prey." Even as she spoke, her instincts pulled at her limbs, begging to take off and join the pack. She quelled it, but it was as though a fire had been lit within her. She guessed that, young as they were, her pups would feel somewhat of the same reaction. It was a powerful thing, instinct.

ooc: I am so sorry guys.... work isn't really an excuse as to my absence, considering the fact that I only work weekends. It's more that I share a computer with two others, and my siblings are on the stupid thing CONSTANTLY.... >< it's frustrating. I am going to try and keep up better, though! I promise. It'll be difficult, but I can always throw a few punches to get on =P again, sorry for leaving ya'all hanging

| Malik had entered the clearing on the opposite side that Silent had, to block off any possible escape rout. He ran into the open as he saw Silent grab hold of the old elk. He came up along side the old animal, looking for his chance to grab ahold of her. He ran at her heels and then took hold of the elk's back leg, hopefully he would be able to trip it off it's feet so they could finnish it off.
ooc: ugh short but i felt like it was about time i replyed. |

| Silent looked back over her shoulder briefly. It seemed the others had not joined she and Nuri yet. Sighing, she turned back with a shrug. This elk would be no difficult task, and she knew that they could take her down. With one flick of her tail Silent took off, dashing into the clearing and setting things into motion. Panic and fear-scent filled the air, and she watched as the strong fled with ease while the young struggled to keep up with parents, and the old and weak fell behind. Farthest from the herd was the old-timer she had pointed out. Silent shot after it, adrenaline rushing through her. It had been quite some time since she'd enjoyed a hunt, and she barked with excitement as she came up beside the elk. It stumbled on faulty legs, and Silent took her chance, leaping up for its neck. She grabbed hold of a thick piece of flesh on the side of its neck, dragging its head earthward and making it very difficult to run. Now all that was needed was some backup to bring this thing down.. Ooc- Sorry for not waiting on everyone, but I'm trying to keep this place going now.
