Watching with pride as Robin instructed their brood on correct entry and patience, Ali glanced around, wondering where her other son had gone off to. He did not seem to be around much lately, normally off causing problems with the rest of the pack. She sighed. At least he was a spirited little thing, if a tad overly so at times. Okay, all the time.

Seeing Robin look back at her, she smiled, then stepped to the edge of the water. With a grace that belied her more bulky form, she stepped in, the smallest disturbance caused by her entry. It would have appeared merely a ripple to the fish dallying out in the depths, perhaps caused by a sudden breeze. Slowly she cut through the water to stand at her mate's side, watching Jewel and Robbie. While her son was normally patient, Jewel too was being uncharacteristically silent, and Ali's eyes glowed with approval. Both would be lethal hunters someday, if this were anything to show for it!

Her auds twitched as Robin spoke again softly, and she stayed silent, letting him give this lesson. She did not feel the need to add to his pointers, and knew that this was more of a father-pup teaching session. Instead she glanced about in the water, locating the nearest group of flashing fins, the slight motion and reflection betraying their presence. They would come back, slowly, if everything went according to plan.

How rarely that happened, however! No sooner had she thought this than she started, a yell behind her startling her. Koda. Her hell-raiser of a son was once again at it! Turning her head, she was just in time to see him hit Robbie full on, knocking them both into the water with a large splash that eliminated all chances of the fish approaching anytime soon. With a heavy sigh she looked at Robin, annoyance and affection showing clearly on her face. She couldn't really be angry, but somehow Koda would have to learn some restraint! Perhaps in time he would mature.....

Noting Robbie's condition, Alaina took a step forward, picking her son up by the scruff and quickly carrying him over to the bank. Eyes worried, she watched him cough. "Are you alright?" She would deal with Koda in a moment, if Robin did not get to it first.

Koda hit his target and he felt paws and legs pushing at him while he went under the water. A paw hit his eye and he yelped under the water. He felt Robbie his side and head for the top and Koda soon followed. He sprang out from the water and felt himself twitching his eye in annoyance. "You got me!" he bellowed at his brother and he swiped at his own eye trying to find some way to make the pain stop. It would though, he had scuffled with his brother before and his sister, and had gotten poked in the eye but this time it was a kick, it was hard, and it was really well aimed for not ment to happen.

The white pup looked at his sister with his maw wide open and a smile spread across it. "Wasn't that PERFECT! Did you see him scramble for the surface. I couldn't have planned it anymore perfectly. Wasn't it perfect dad!?!" He didn't honestly know how his dad would react, but he then looked at his brother who was trying to gasp for air.

His concentration was so intense that his whole body was trembling as he stared into the water. He was almost trying to will the fish to come to him. Like his father said it took patience. He was not sure that Jewel had the sort of patience to do this. He absently noted that Koda was now where to be seen and that was generally not a good thing. Then a sudden puppy battle cry rent the air and Robbie looked up, too late to do anything as Koda ran right into him. Down he went into the cool water and he felt it invade his lungs with his surprised gasp.

Flinging himself against his brother he scrambled to get to the surface. Robbie was moving faster in his growth then either of his siblings so with a some effort he disengaged himself and flipped back up to the surface gasping for air.

Coughing wildly while trying to get out of the water it looked like he was truly going to choke...

Jewel's tiny auds flicked forward to catch her father's softly spoken words and she nodded barely containing a squeal. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the tiny minnows coming forward and looked to Robbie. "Look!" she mouthed to him and shot him a grin that took up her whole face. Then out of no where came a call of attack and she knew exactly who it was. Koda. If there were one wolf that could get in trouble more than she could it was her other brother. So much for fishing. "KODA!" she yelled after her face got completly soaked by his splashing. She sounded like Robbie getting after her own self.

Ooc:|| Silent, Starr, Fossy. Here is Koda, the pup I was going to play, never did, pretend he's been around. I'll spill his personality here in this post, of how he is.

The white pup with flecks of orange watched his brother and sister splash around the water. It was their first fishing trip and he was too excited to just jump it. He was watching from a bit away, they didn't see him, he had been sneaking around with their father had spoken about the little lesson and now he was sneaking around more. He was really good at it and he felt pride grow in his chest as he watched them try and listen to their father tell them to be still and wait.

Koda smiled at seeing his sister and brother. Which one would it be. Then he chose. Koda ran forward as fast as his feet would carry him and ran full sprint towards his brother. If he noticed him, and moved he'd still Jewel. He was a trouble maker. Always the opposit of what he was supposed to do, sometime, unless it was serious. He splashed through the water and bellowed with a call of attack!

Obviously, their entry into
the water had scared the fish off. They were bunched in a small pool
and in deeper water about ten feet away, swimming nervously and not
knowing if they were supposed to be fleeing or not. He heard Jewel's
gasp of surprise and snickered to himself, for the water came near up
to her chest where on he, it only came up about three-fourths of the
way there. Ali had been right - their kids were growing bigger.

Junior especially. Robin watched him try to get quietly into the water (try,
being the key word), and even if he messed up, it was perfectly okay.
Robin remembered what it was like to be that age - big, clumsy, but
full of good intentions - and couldn't blame the young boy. And though
he had his father's fur, it appeared that he had inherited his mother's
build, strong and steady. A good fighter.

"Now," he said soft enough as not to scare the
fish away further. The little minnows seemed
to be darting towards them again.
"We wait. We have to let them come to us.
Fishing is a test of patience."

He wondered how Jewel would handle this.
She barely seemed to be containing her excitement already.

Robbie felt himself wagging his whole body in excitement and as their father came down to their level he scooted closer in anticipation. He yipped a small sound of excitement of the announcement. Fishing! O paw...that was where a river was! He shot a smug look at his sister when Robin told her to quiet down as well."Jewel, a river! Remember the other wolf? She told us about rivers!" He whispered excitedly to his sister. He looked back to his fathering ignoring Jewel's louder exclamations. He looked at his mother and threw her a lopsided grin, that was pupish in some ways, but gave promise of handsome features arriving in the future.

Standing by his father he looked up and again he quivered with anticipation at the promise of being taught. He was off towards the water the moment his father okayed it and he tried to be stealthy! It was amusing to him trying to get his oversized mitts trying to creep forward. He tried to imitate his father creepin in though, where his father was tall he could not compensate for the aerial view. Still he was determined. Like Jewel had thought he did stand taller than her.

He shot her an annoyed look when she giggled but it meant nothing. He then looked to his father for the next signal.

Jewel bounced up and down there was excitment written all over her little body. She trembled as they approached the water. It was all she could do not to dive in squealing. She looked to Robbie and beamed him a smile and then watched her father intently as he slipped into the water. Jewel's two toned pools opened wide and tried to slip into the water as seamlessly as her father. It was deeper than she thought and a little gasp came to her throat but she recovered. She stood there head barely above the water, tail drenched but she was there, right next to her daddy, and quiet to even her own suprise. She looked at Robbie, he would probably stand further out of the water than she did now. It looked as if he had a growing spurt. Jewel had been the bigger for a while. She beamed Robbie another grin and then looked at her mama. She was going to yell "LOOK AT ME!' but then remebered her father's orders to be quiet. So instead she let out a soft giggle. She looked like the cat that got the cream.

Robin's tassel wagged in appreciation. He had been gone from his family so long, that it felt like he had forgotten how to smile when he was around them, the butterflies in his heart returning with warmth and security. This was home, his past, and his future. It was all here. He turned to his son, who seemed to be much quieter than his sister. "C'mon, Junior. I'll show ya how to catch the biggest salmon. And if not that, then the tastiest."

All Junior seemed to need was a push in the right direction. Robin turned his body, indicating for them to follow, meeting beside Ali. "Brings back memories, doesn't it?" he chuckled as they approached the lake. The ground beneath them faded from the rolling summer grass to the stony shores of the lake. "It really doesn't feel like that along ago it was just you and me."

He glanced over his shoulder at Jewel and Junior. He hoped that Jewel was keeping her promise to stay quiet even though she had not entered the water yet - he could see the wild anticipation on her face, the eagerness in her step. Though she would be a little difficult to train, she would one day make an excellent hunter. He just knew it.

Robin glanced jovially at his wife. "Shall we begin?"

He stepped almost soundlessly into the water, feeling the cold lake rush at his ankles, creeping up to his shins as he walked into it. He kept his tail high as to avoid it being drenched, wanting to be as quiet as possible. It was this time of the season that the silver salmon would be running, and every time the salmon ran through, trout and smaller fish were to follow. Robin looked over his shoulder again, nodding his head that it was safe for them to enter. He wondered how things would progress. . .

Ivory auds flicked forward as her father's voice came forth. "FISHING?" she said her voice raising an octive. "Robbie we are going fishing!!!! FISHING!!!" She ran around and leaped on her brother, barking and yipping. She grabbed Robbie's scruff and gave it a gentle shake. Then she felt her father's nose nudge her ear and his gentle voice. Scare the fish? Jewel let go of Robbie's scruff and sat. "I won't scare the fish daddy. I promise." She said seriously and looked at her father with two-toned eyes, tail wagging excitedly. Her whole body quivered with anticipation. She couldn't wait! She would be the bestest fisher out there!

Ali just laughed at Robin's comment about his nose, nudging him with a paw. "Well, don't even try! I'm sure that if anyone could find a way, it would be you!" It was playfully said, however, and he would know that she was not serious in her chiding.

Still warm from his earlier nuzzle, she let him lead her to the kill, waiting until he had started before she leaned over to take a few mouthfuls. Though her attention was set upon filling her own stomach, she noted how quickly Robin dug in, and she was hit again by gratefulness. Fortune had smiled upon them by bringing him safely home.

She finished before he did, her own appetite smaller at the moment, and while she waited for him to finish, her gaze was drawn to her pups. They were drifting off, the little darlings, and she gazed at them lovingly. So innocent and peaceful! How she hated that they were growing, but this was conflicted by the pride she felt watching their small bodies fill out and show the promise of future strength and grace. Who knew that motherhood held such extreme contrasts within it? She certainly hadn't expected it. The love and devotion, the urge to protect, yes. But the unmistakeable desire for time to just stop was a new experience to her.

Ali stood back while Robin woke Jewel and Robbie. What had he gotten into his head now? She was going to step in, say that he needed to rest, but thought better of it. Robin had been away from his children enough in the past while... she would let him catch up. They could catch up later. She turned to go, but Robin's response to their questions made her stop and turn back around. Fishing? A smile started to work it's way onto her muzzle, breaking out into a full out grin as the memories came back. It was appropriate.

She saw Robin look back and caught his eye, nodding and coming up beside him. She wasn't going to miss this. She had to fight down a laugh, though, when Robin told Jewel to stay quiet. Their daughter was hardly capable of sitting still long enough to sleep, much less fish! Still, the outing would be good for them all.

"This seems oddly familiar," she murmured, "though I recall less company the last time." She looked back down at their pups. It was by no means an unwelcome addition, however, and she found herself loving the intrusion. Pups were a most welcome inconvenience!

Robin smiled widely at his children's enthusiasm. He caught the curious gleam in Junior's eye - he couldn't help it, it was just so similiar to his own - and knelt down to his height. "I'll tell you, son. We're going fishing."

He looked over his shoulder at Ali. She didn't look all too busy, and he hoped that she would join them. He recalled that their first meeting had been during a fishing trip. It wouldn't be a bad idea to rekindle some old memories, and it was a good way for a family to bond.

"Hey, you gotta be quiet, Jewel," Robin said softly, nuzzling his daughter behind the ear as she jumped about. "You don't want to scare all the fish away, do you?"

His tail wagged in happiness. Sure, his trip had wore him out a little bit, but despite being a father, he was still young, and still strong. His belly may have been full, but fishing wasn't about the eating or the catch. It was about the relationships that came out of it.

He was so far gone that he didn't even hear the dream howl of his sister. He himself was off running after his own prey. But there was something nudging him and then another nudge...and then Jewel's squealing in his ears. He grumbled in discontentment but blearily opened his hues. "An idea wha-?" Cut off by Jewel's excited yips and squeals he sat up and stretched and shook his pelt out. Okay..now he was ready to listen. More reserved than Jewel he reclined on his haunches and looked up at Robin. "What is it father?" He asked curiously.

She felt a warm gentle nudge and then her fathers voice. Her two toned eyes fluttered open and she yawned. Looking at him sleepliy she smiled and then her eyes seemed to jolt awake when she realized her daddy said he had an idea. "AN IDEA?" she squealed and pushed Robbie with her nose. "Robbie, Daddy has an idea! C'mon! Let's go!" Jewel gave her brother a soft tug to his ear and found her feet. No sooner than she did that she was racing around yipping with excitement. "What is it Daddy? What is it!" she squealed and then looked at her mother happily.

Quietly but comically respectful, Robin allowed Ali to fix his wound, listening to her advice. A smile turned the corner of his lips and he said, "Don't you know how hard it is to itch your own nose when you can't reach it?" He nuzzled her on the cheek in a thank you, and nodded when she said about eating.

He led her to the carcass, his stomach gnawing with hunger. Protecting the borders hadn't given him much time to hunt, unfortunately, and it showed. Robin now devoured the kill, ripping juicy muscle from bone. He sidestepped to allow his wife room, eating until his belly was warm and full.

When finished, Robin glanced at his children. One moment they were excited and hyper, the next, content and in dreamland. They were growing up quickly - soon, he would need to teach them how to hunt and fend for themselves. That would be the day.

Actually, now he had an idea. Leaving the kill and traipsing over to them, he nudged their little (or not-so-little) heads and paws with his muzzle, careful to keep his wound away. "Wake up, sleepyheads. Daddy's got an idea."

Robin had that familiar look in his eye - his idea would be a good one.

Feeling her brother's soft licks brought comfort to her and sent her drifting into the space between awake and deep sleep. Her puppy paws were begining to twitch as she began to run the dream fields. The scent of blood and her brother so close by added to it's color.

Running..she and Robbie, but they were grown. Her coat was ivory and her auds shone in their two tone hues. She laughed and barked at her brother. Then Robbie seemed to pick up a scent...Elk. Like twin shadows they both went to tracking and killing the beast just like Silent and the others had. Proudly she stood upon the kill, blood marring her snowy coat and she let out a howl.

In life she echoed the howl in her sleep and then drifted into deeper sleep satisfied.

Silent noticed that the new wolfess had been smiling at the whelps. It seemed everybody was excited about the fact there were pups in the pack. She led the way to the food that the pack had brought down, perking her ears toward Shin'Ai as she introduced herself. She smiled, nodding her acknowledgement to the femme, allowing her a few moments to eat if she wished. Then her thoughts wandered to ranks; cocking her head, she looked curiously at the femme. "Shin'Ai, do you have any special skills you might like to offer the pack?" she asked, though not wanting to sound too intimidating, she continued, "If you're not sure yet, you can take as much time as you like to find what interests you most."

Suddenly she glanced to the pups again who were nearby, smiling at them. Fondness kept creeping up on her, and longing for a litter of her own. Amber gaze flickered to Nuri quickly, a tender look in her eyes that was not common, even when she tried her hardest to seem gentle to those who were shy and unsure. Something about his brave and caring nature just made her swoon. Giving her head a shake so that she was capable of tearing her gaze away, she faced Shin'Ai again, hoping she had not appeared rude for diverting her attention.

Finishing as well he sat and grumbled unappreciatively when his sister whacked him. His stomach was too full to be jumping around at the moment. Pleased when she got distracted he too settled down and began to watch. With the warmth of his sister next to him his eyes began to close as well. Leaning over he affectionatly licked Jewels head. He was growing rapidly and already he was getting larger than his more delicate sister. Though in pups they went through all sorts of different growth spurts. No doubt she would be catching up soon. Contently he let fatigue wash over him and faded into the dream fields.

Her family was one again. With a light heart she set her herbs down, nuzzling Robin once more. "I know."

Lowering her head, she retrieved her supplies, then gently applied them to the scratch, cleaning it and soothing the cut. "It should stop bleeding now, but if it burns or itches, tell me! Don't scratch it, you will only make it worse." She always sounded like a scolding mother when she was doing her duty, she knew this, but the image was broken as she giggled. She had caught sight of Jewel and Robbie interacting with Nuri, the poor bru getting the double-hit from her two children. He did not seem to mind, though, playing along well. She caught sight of Silent also watching, and wondered lightly if the fem would ever start a family of her own. It was really no business of hers, but in all honesty, she knew that Silent would make a spectacular mother if she so chose. It would be nice to have some other pups for Robbie and Jewel to grow up with as well.

Watching Jewel and Robbie eat, Ali felt a pang of hunger herself. Looking at Robin, she guessed that he too was feeling a tad empty. "Shall we join them?" She smiled, eyes sparkling. indicating with a paw for him to lead. It was odd. He had been gone a while, but now, it was like he never left.

Grinning from ear to ear she smiled at her brother and giggled when she heard his stomach protest. "Alright, alllllright!" and then her stomach echoed his. She cuddled beside him and set to knawing. The meat was bloody and rich. The sensation in her mouth was delightful and it caused her to tug at the meat excitedly.

Soon her belly was round and full. She was no longer eating but playing with her food, enjoying it's taste upon her virgin tongue. She burped loudly, giggled and then said "Excuse me." She yawned. A full belly made her sleepy but she still wanted to play with Robbie. She reached over and pawed him gently with a mitt. "Wanna play?" she asked and then her attention was stolen by Silent and the new wolfess. Plopping down next to Robbie she leaned on him and watched the scene unfold. She glanced at Nuri and her tail wagged just for him. Then the warmth of her brother seeped into her bones and her two toned eyes started to drift.

Her gentle hues wavered over the scene, and all the interactions. It seemed like a good place, and a small smile came to her maw at the sight of pups. Ai had always liked welps, they had everything ahead of them. All they had to do was play, and mess around. Hues averted to the approaching fem, and Ai noticed the dominance. Alphess. A low respectful bow, before raising again. Auds pricked at her voice, and a small smile danced across Ai's maw. Though she stayed silent when the alphess spoke, her shy attitude still about her. It was a downfall, but also made her aware of things. She had used it as deception before, to move out of a thick situation. Though she knew here, it wasn't necessary. Yet, it was apart of her. She had hoped that it would go away soon, Ai was beginning to like the lands already. Ai grinned briefly, at the sound of her stomach growling. She had been hungry, having not ate recently. The mention of food made her realize how hungry she was. Ai stepped forward, following the alphess slowly. "I'm Shin'Ai" Her lyrics were gently, but the bit of shyness was within them still.

Silent glanced up curiously as a familiar scent entered her nares. She caught sight of Robin, and a wave of relief washed through her; she worried constantly when pack members went missing, and he had always been a valued advisor to her. She nodded to him as he acknowledged her, but it was clear he needed to make up with Ali, telling his reasons of absence. Silent knew that the Healer would take care of business with Robin, so she did not interfere. Instead, her attention was diverted as a newcomer entered the clearing, possibly one of the ones who'd howled earlier.

She smiled, about to pad over to her when the pups began racing about. She lifted a paw to give them space to run, laughing as they romped around; a glimmer of admiration flickered in her eyes as she watched Nuri tend to Robbie and Jewel with such patience and care. He would make a wonderful father. However, Silent needed to tend to business, so she forced herself away from the scene and padded calmly over to the new fae. She dipped her head welcomingly, a warm smile upon her gentle face, though her amber pools always remained intense.

"Welcome to Tirisfal Valley," she began, her voice strong and reassuring, "My name is Silent Snowfall, Queen of these lands. Is it your wish to find a home in these divine lands?" She hoped that the shy femme would warm up and feel a little bit more comfortable in a few moments. Silent turned slowly, swishing her tail in a beckoning gesture towards the food. "The pack recently hunted," she told the fae, taking a few small steps toward the meat, "Come, introduce yourself over a nice, warm meal." She enjoyed being hospitable, and hoped she would accept the offer and come meet those that were eating.

Eyeing the meat and yipping excitedly he brushed past Nuri's legs and began to examine the meat. While his sister who was always more exuberant than he raced around. Not minding the distracting little Jewel he looked down on her and smiled and as she raced away he bent down and gave her little rump a gentle push for a little speed boost. Chuckling he watched the two pups play. He could almost watch it without having his chest tighten, almost. Robbie grappled with his sister and being larger than she easily gained the advantage of being on top. Growling with playful satisfaction there was a moment of silence that his rumbling stomach broke. He began to giggle and nipping his sisters muzzle affectionately. "Come on Jewel I'm hungry!" then he turned about and began nawing on the peice of meat.

Glad that her brother joined in the fun she raced around Nuri's legs also. She saw Nuri deposit the small chunk of meat in front of her brother and heard his voice mention that it was for her too. She raced over to Robbie and inspected the meat and then raced back to Nuri. Not noticing that Nuri was talking with silent she jumped up on his shoulder and tugged with puppy teeth. "Thank you, Thank you NURI!" she said with a big smile on her face. Then she raced back to her brother and growled as she approached, her small puppy hackles raised and ready for a mock battle over the meal. She couldn't suppress a giggle or two before launching herself at her brother.

Looking frantically from his mother to his father he nodded a little unsure about her mother's assesment. Back again by Robin. There seemed to be a lot of blood coming out of the wound. He stared after his parents as the went into the den. He still looked worried but luckily Jewel broke his concentration as she usually did.

Nipping playfully at his sister he joined in her giggles and ran after her to the carcass. He ran in between Nuri's legs and began tearing at the meat with his tiny teeth that weren't quite up to such a hefty job yet. Laughing Nuri bent down nudging the young bru and tore off a smaller peice for Robbie to tear at. "For your sister as well." he commented. Nuri looked at Silent when he spied the wolfess who had called for her. "There Silent, she seems nervous." He motioned to the shy looking femmora.

She had thrown herself at him and her tail wagged so quickly it looked like it would soon fly off her rear. "OH DADDY! I am so glad you are home!" she yelled and then she saw the scratch on his nose and looked to her mother. Tiny auds flicked forward when her father spoke to her brother. Just a scratch....she beamed a smile up at her dad and then romped over to Robbie and pounced on his serious self. "See Robbie.....it's just a scratch, Daddy is okay." She tugged gently on his ear. She, even for all their squabbling, loved her brother dearly. Then looking to her parents she heard the "I love you's" and giggled. Then a growl came from her belly. They hadn't finished eating yet and her mouth was craving the new sensation of blood instead of mother's milk. Getting off her brother she looked toward her parents. "C'mon lets go eat!" she said enthusiastically.

"Oof! It's good to see you too, Jewel," Robin laughed, despite his wound. He glanced at his son, paused in mid-step, and smiled warmly. "I'm okay, Robbie. Like your mother said, just a scratch."

Like a good patient he followed her to the den. "I'm sorry I was gone for so long," he apologized, ears lying a little back. Round, crimson orbs watched her scuffle in her herbs, choosing the right ones. When she looked at him - eyes, piercing blue, periwinkle love - his heart won over. "I'll never be gone for that long again."

His words were as true as silver. "You know I love you."

(OOC: Wow, I haven't done this in. . . forever. Apologies if it's kinda lame. . . And what about Zeff? Is Kippy still going to play him, or did she leave?)
