| Looking at his mates beautiful face the corners of his mouth tilted up in a half grin. Yes, they did need to name the pup something didn't they? He tried to think about it but met with no success, this just wasn't his sort of thing...sure give him an opponent to fight, a deer to single out he could spit out a plan in a second but to name another wolf? To lay them with the title they would bear the rest of their lives? Perhaps he was thinking too much into it...His ear flicked when Cinder suggested one of the names...Clearing his throat he whispered in a very scratchy tone "...Navi..." Then nodded his head and licked her forehead. Yes, Navi sounded like a good name.
Out of the corner of his eye he noticed that Damean Junior thought he was sneaky and was creeping out of then. He smiled with one brow raised and touching Cinder's brow with his nose he extracted himself carefully and followed the pup out of the den and was about to draw him back in when he noticed Akiko standing a few feet away. She nodded in his direction that she would handle it and he shrugged and slid back into the den. He motioned outside to Cinder and then lay back down with her. He would not try to interfere with Jabbar's business.

| Zelda followed alongside until they arrived on the den, not really minding the chill of the evening. When he offered her first entrance she smiled and tilted her head. "As you wish my alpha." Winking she gave her coat one last shake and slunk inside the den moving to the back so that Rodion could enter. Crouching she yawned, the sudden cut off of light was like a palpable weight and she felt her eyes droop suddenly. All the stress of the pack falling on her and her body finally felt the toll it took on her. Her blue eyes were hidden for a moment and she breathed in the smell of the the hard soil, Tom now lay at rest peacefully in the earth now and she should be happy that it was for the pack he had given himself for. She thought doing that would have made him happy as well. The corner of her mouth pulled up as she thought of the springy older male and pushed back the tears that threatened to spill over. No more sadness, she would be happy for the gifts that his presence had brought her through the years. Opening her eyes again she felt much better, still sad and a little overwhelmed about all the happening but they would get through them, they always did. And now Rodion would come and they would...rest. Yes, they would rest and she would take respite in Fenrir's dream meadows. | |

| His eyes were trained on the beetle when the white female came up and looked at him. So this other fem was Exodus. She seemed so sad, and then this male he was still confused but knew him, and this white wolf... She was familiar, very familiar, even when she brushed her tongue on his face he remembered it. "I am not alone. I have so many friends, like this guy" he looked up at Rawbones, and then eyed her "And you, I remember your smells... I remember them so vividly" it was another one he remembered but couldn't place that caught him off guard, one that should be here...but she wasn't. He looked around more confused and then stood and walked up to Akiko and sat between her paws looking at the other two wolves. "Pack, what's a pack. Are you a pack, this is a pack, us four?" he smiled at them beeming with his smarts even if it was wrong. "I know a pack when I see one, this is a good pack" he smirked at his smarts again and waited for an answer from one of them. ====== Exodus looked at the small black pup as he came forward to her conversation. "He's... getting so big" Rawbones would have known what she was going to say. He looked like their father... just like him though the eyes... she smiled down at the pup wanting to nuzzle the little guy when Akiko came in and spoke her name softly. "Akiko" she said kindly bowing her head to the now queen of Jabbar even if it was temporary. Exodus wasn't stupid she knew Damean would have kept Akiko at his side even with any mate, they had been best friends, the whole pack had been best friends to him. Oh how she wished he were here to guide them now... but he was here, and as the little pup spoke up she couldn't help but let her eyes line with tears. "That's right, this is a pack, and between you and me this pack isn't the strongest ever, wait till you go home... you're going to be surrounded by the strongest wolves possible and nothing will harm you while they're around, and one day, when you get big and strong, you'll protect everyone you can just like they would for you or any one of their pack mates. But right here, this pack, is your friends too." she nudged him softly in the shoulder and pulled back looking at Akiko. "I know Crow went with Aladar* to go find the son that Legend had mentioned... the one who'll help you I guess. Blade and Petra are here... Rawbones of course. You. And I wont stay back there but I'll go to help with any aid I can, a battle or a healing I'll listen to whatever Petra has to say..." she smiled showing her alliance, however personal it was, with Jabbar. | |

| Akiko nodded her thanks to Blade and turned away without further comment. Soon enough they would have time to speak. She was going to call in a war counsel and they would take Jabbar back. As she stepped towards the den she saw the small shape slink out of it and her brow raised up. It was unquestionably Damean Junior. At first she was alarmed but saw the pup was headed for Exodus and Rawbones, she relaxed herself and noticed Link had squirmed from the den to pursue the pup who thought he had snuck away so cleverly but she caught his eye and indicated that she could handle it. Link paused for a moment then went back into the den with Cinder. Ashen paws stepped forward until she stood besides Rawbones, meeting the gaze of Dameans daughter she was still solemn and spoke softly. "Exodus." She said quietly but not submissively. Then she bent low to be eye level with the pup. He should at least know her scent for she had carried him her and coddled her before he had been transferred over to Cinder. Eying him sternly she frowned and very mother-like she growled. "You should not wander off alone little one." She spoke not unkindly and after a moment of setting her hard cerulean gaze on the pup she leaned forward, sniffed around his face then ran her rough tongue over his tiny head. He smelled like Midnight, more evidence that they needed to return back to Jabbar. Standing back up she reclined on her haunches, second to the pup she was still very small but no less of a dominant presence. "Where is the rest of our pack?" she said calmly. She was different, further away than she had ever been before. But there was an inner storm brewing inside her, a sort of electricity that even her calm exterior could not mask. | |

| Exodus let her eyes wander back to Rawbones when he spoke of only their allies here. "So true" she sighed and looked around at the few and knew of some she couldn't see helping the pack. "It's without question Rawbones. He may not have been my father as I hoped he would have, but his rulling was for me to be gone from those lands while he ruled... he no longer rules there and the filth of what's known to any wolf is there. If there are more then just who has stayed... Bloodeye, Zaiku. I haven't seen them there. I wonder if they stayed on his side, it's hard to tell. i'm half tempted to go to Muerta and speak with Akira asking where she stands, if she is to aid his darkness or stand beside Damean's strange thoughts and views of your own darkness." Exodus looked around still then her golden eyes fell back on Rawbones.
"you never questioned him after he asked to take part in a treaty with Midnight Meadows and I thank you... I just wonder why Damean wanted to make peace with all the packs... As if he didn't feel the difference between the light and the dark anymore, if there was no point like his old homes he used to tell Legend and I about so long ago when we were curious pups. I feel older thinking about those times. For Jaded wasn't 'mother' yet and Akiko was still...steady, she seems so upset and so content of finding his killer... I hope she does, I know it wont bring him back but he's back here already, only in a smaller form...
OOc:|| I just really wanna play him =( Bic:|| His black nose poked out from the den, it was colder in this room, crisper even. His little eyes had to adjust to the light and while he did so the smells all over him tickled his nose. A couple were familiar. Two was strong enough though he wanted to go to them right away. He gave a soft bark and pushed himself more into the light. "Woah..." his little husky pup voice broke out as his eyes found themselves watching the wolves infront of him. He smiled as he used his hind legs to push himself that last little bit from the den and wagged his tail as he looked up at a female right next to him. "You're huge!" He bark and ran around the front of her looking up. "I didn't know there could be so many" he was bored in the den and this...this was fun! "And did you see them!? look at all them!" he smiled and stuck his nose up taking a big wiff of the air. Someone familiar was close and he followed his nose quickly to the strong musky scent. He came upon a wolf, a male like him talking to a female. She had a soft voice and spoke of someone but his attention was more on this male. Why did he seem so familiar. He couldn't have known him from before but his whole instinct was to trust him. "Hi" he said softly, and looked up at the male placing himself between the female and him wanting his full attention. "Im um...well... not quite sure of that yet I didn't ask the lady and sir in the den they were talking about their girl pup when I snuck out" he now looked down as a beetle with a broken leg tried to hurry by them...

| Rawbones was drawn from his musings and observations when he was approached by Exodus, and he turned his head to her, glancing upon her frame with aging silver orbs. Despite his blurring vision, he saw her clearly up close, and allowed the corner of his lips to rise when she nodded her head and smiled to him. She was still young, and she seemed so hopeful. She saw her golden gaze look past him, as though expecting to see more wolves. He shook his head to her, parting his jaws to let forth his rough voice. "Sorry, there's only us and our allies here, if they should be willing to assist us," he told her. He tilted his head when she seemed to grow increasingly worried. Hadn't she been with a brute the last time he'd seen her? Landen? One of the wolves that had come with the new group... the group that had seized Jabbar as their own. His hackles rose slightly at the thought, but he flicked his tail to try to dismiss the suspicious thoughts. Landen seemed honest enough... would Damean have approved of the male for Exodus? He smirked, looking her over. How could such a tantilizing beauty, raised in darkness, end up here, in Midnight Meadows? He knew Damean had wanted to keep her safe, but was this where she belonged? As he thought of it, he couldn't remember seeing a 'dark side' to her, so maybe this place was right for her.. what a shame. He flicked an ear, erasing the smirk from his maw. He wished he wouldn't look at every gorgeous femme with such desire, but he supposed it kept his mind from the unbearable pain of the loves he'd lost. Willing his mind to different matters, he allowed himself to wonder what Exodus would do. She lived here, now. Was she going to help them? Since she was there, he might as well ask her what her position was on this. "Exodus, I know you live here now," he began, sniffing slightly, "But are you going to help us rid Jabbar of those filthy curs?" Surely she must think of backing them up. After all, they'd killed Damean. Of course she would help them. What reason did she have to not? | |

| Ooc:|| Holy... Epica is not here...scratch that. It's just Exodus. I get them confused like that for some stupid reason...no Epica... Bic:}} Exodus looked away from Blade when Akiko came in asking about Damean. Her eyes searched around for more and she sighed when only Rawbones came back in. Where was he!?! She walked over to the old male and nodded her head softly. "Did you find anyone else that'll help with this cause... I know you all long for your own homelands" She smiled to him and her eyes looked past him as if wishing for more wolves to walk in, for Landen to walk in. Her heart grew heavy with worry, she had just announced love for the male and now he was gone, off being like his brother...her father, and fighting for a cause not for a spector on the color wheel. She looked back at Rawbones and waited for something of a reply... | |

| Rawbones made his way back with Akiko, though he could not keep up with her agile form as she darted through the trees. He just kept moving at his comfortable, high-paced trot, knowing they were in safer territory now. At last he caught up and saw Akiko already conversing with their packmates to ensure Damean's safety. He arrived in time to hear Blade assuring her the pup was in the den being cared for. A relief. Now that he had joined the group, he looked around to Blade and Petra. Were they ready for battle? He looked around, wondering where Crow was, and if Exodus and Landen were prepared to help them. That would be something they needed to sort out before they returned to Jabbar. Braeden continued gazing around, staying near to Balthier. He seemed to sense her unease, and she felt a bit better when he kept close to her, as though to reassure her that things were okay and he wasn't going to leave her alone. Feeling a little more comfortable now that some time had passed and nothing bad had occured, Braeden relaxed and actually took a step forward, moving beside Balthier. She shrank slightly as a few wolves came to the group, but she had seen them earlier and remembered that they were a part of this pack, or at least that's what she saw them as for now. She relaxed once more and looked over to Vaarak, smiling slightly.

| Balthier watched a more wolves slowly arrived, talking to the Jabbar wolves. He shifted closer to Braeden, as if reminding her she wasn't alone. He was also watch for signs that she wanted to retreat further away, even thought they were already some yards away. His gaze shifted to Blade briefly, as he spoke of an Ethiopian wolf. Knowing who they were talking about, he glanced towards the healer he was supposed to teach at some point, and back at the others in front of him.
Fran had stationed herself near the den, wanting to give Cinder and Link a chance to be comfortable without always having to be alert. She wasn't able to hear anything from the den, but would have time to intercept a wolf from entering the den. She was also watching the surroundings, noticing where each of her packmates in her line of sight were. She noticed wolves moving around, recognizing one in particular. The one who carried the pup that was currently in the den along with Cinder's own. She remembered her because of the impression she held around her.

| Another wolf came in, seemingly chasing after Epica. He glanced away, to give them space to speak. It seemed like she had ran off, leaving him to follow, but his attention was focused on two scents that were growing stronger. They were back, clearly whole and safe, if they were moving so quickly.
Blade's gaze met Akiko's, and briefly broke contact while gesturing towards Cinder's den. "He is with Cinder and Link. That one there seems to be keeping an eye out." There was an Ethiopian wolf a distance from the den, but not close enough for her to be considered a threat to the wolves inside. He was sure she was mostly there for Cinder's sake, but in watching out for her, she was also looking out for Jabbar's own pup.

| She arrived back with a fierce aura about her. Azule eyes blazing and in her mindset she threw her head back and released her howl. Akiko was back and the time for hiding was over. She glanced to her side to look at Rawbones and nodded towards him. Then sprinted ahead dodging through the trees racing though the unfamiliar lands. This was not home, they could not stay here much longer. Arriving on the scene she eyed Blade and touched his flank as she walked by, happy to see a packmate. Things had settled down after Legend had come and the atmosphere was relaxed. "The pup?" She asked, eyes shifting to meet Blade's. She intruded on his conversation, not like she noticed anyhow. | |

| Rodion felt his whole frame shiver as Zelda spoke of the cold. She was right. He bounded swiftly from the river and shook his pelt out violently, let one more shudder pass, then did his best to suppress his natural reaction to the bite of the chilling air. He smiled at her, putting on a face that seemed to affirm his manliness. He awaited her accompaniment and then made his way quickly to the den. The sooner they could warm up, the better. The bru was wordless, feeling his pulse beginning to speed up. For some reason the thought of them being alone was unorthodox and... oddly exciting. Standing at the mouth of the den, he motioned to it with his russet crown. "Ladies first," he offered politely. His tassel swished lightly as he waited for her entry, the cold becoming a part of the background as his body adjusted. A few spare leaves blew inside and his gaze followed, looking to the cozy dwelling waiting for them. It seemed so much more inviting than usual at a time like this. OOC: BLAAAAH SHORT AND STUPID. | |

| Blade wasn't too excited about hyper young wolves, but Balthier wasn't pulling his young charge away. In fact, he had a suspicion the other was glad to have someone else for his younger brother to talk to. At least it showed the older brother had some trust or respect for the Jabbar pack, or just he and Petra, at the very least. "'Nice' depends on your definition of the word. It's nice, considering our lands basically had to start anew." He turned to Epica as she approached, remembering they hadn't talked that much, but recognizing her. Actually, he hadn't really talked much with anyone if one were to compare his social patterns with others. "Epica. We're fine, considering we've been run off our own lands and all that happened, although I'm worried about the rest of the pack who ran off after the other wolf and Akiko. You?" He asked in an sincere attempt to be polite, having noticed she hadn't talked to many of the others yet. She was bound to have something on her mind, although he didn't know what. They all had thoughts about recent events.
Part of him wondered Balthier was currently trying to gauge how well he could socialize, and was curious to know to what length's he'd go to improve this skill. It was odd in a way, a pure wolf willing to help a dark wolf with a skill to help him better communicate with his pack. He was smart enough to realize that it was possible they'd end up on opposite sides of the war field, despite having a truce right now. He didn't expect to turn against this pack, and didn't want to think about it, since they did so much for Petra, and his pack watched after Cinder a while, as well. It was quite interesting how wolves find packs. During times like these, it seemed like the state of the heart had anything to do with rivalries, but a goal. He was sure in Akira's eyes, Jabbar wasn't a dark pack, although that might be different for another wolf. He wasn't questioning any systems, but he wondered how these particular alliances came about if they drastically change over time.

| He grumbled a little. It was stuffy, the den was stuffy. "M...can I go outside?" he was just a little older then the other pup...would it be his sister? He wasn't too sure, he remembered hearing so much talk about his father dying, his mother dying, and he looked nothing like these two wolves he rested in the den with. He wanted the one wolf with the deep older voice. Names unknown, faces unknown, he only knew who rested within this den with him. "I wanna go...play?" it was a question, how strange, but he felt strange enough already. Again he tried to take a deep breath but the den felt too stuffy and he failed at it again. | |

| Cinder
Cinder closed her eyes and smiled gently as she felt Link's tongue kiss her face. She gave a soft murr and then opened her silver eyes feeling him pause and blinked them as she watched him form words. Her heart leapt into her chest and her tail wagged happily. His voice was music to her ears, no matter how harsh and raspy it sounded. "Oh Link.." she said eyes filling with tenderness and love for the bru that stood in front of her and accepted her and her child...children...their children. "I love you." She said and leaned into his head as he rolled into her neck. She breathed in his scent deeply and she sighed. She was happy...safe..with her mate and pups. The pups at her breast nuzzled in and Cinder smiled. The little female grumped and nosed Damean Jr. , pushing her tiny silver head under his dark one for warmth. "What do you think of the name....Navi? Or perhaps...Jayde?" She asked her made. Thinking slightly perhaps she should name her after the fallen queen who's son suckled at her breast...perhaps that would be too odd. She looked to Link and smiled. "Or maybe you have any ideas?"

| Where was he? It would be just her luck she'd fall in love and he wouldn't return. Oh, how could she be so stupid. But, he couldn't get hurt and he was gone for a good reason too. Epica sat down, after pacing around for quite some time and looked at Blade and Petra. "You guys doing okay?" she had noticed with all the chaos going on, with all the turmoil and fear, pain and crying with just herself she hadn't taken the time to notice anyone elses feelings. Selfish she was at this point in time and now she needed to do what her father... even if he weren't her real father would have done. "Do you need anything? Even if it's to talk... And Petra... Blade... I'm glad you two finally found eachother. I remember as a pup watching you Petra. Heh, it's okay to talk about it now right? Now that you two are...together?" She was making conversation, another selfish thing to do but she had to... She had to keep her mind off Landen and where he was, and Crow was gone... And she had no idea where they were. | |

| Link eyes opened and he met her beautiful silver eyes. He raised a brow at her question. Of course he was alright, all that mattered that she and the pups were safe . Blinking, he leaned forward and licked her face right up the middle. The corner of his mouth pulling up in a smirk and he nodded. He paused, his throat contracting a few times and in a bare whisper he spoke. "And...you?" It was still difficult for him to speak, he would probably never get his voice back to a comfortable level but he would take what he could get. He put his face into her neck and breathed in her scent rubbing his face in to put his own scent there. Cinder would always be his and he would make sure she stayed safe. | |

Balthier looked over at Braeden, noticing her distress. He said, "They are friends. You'll listen soon." He still wasn't quite certain of her vocabulary, and couldn't think of many other ways to phrase his statement that she'll eventually pick up their speech. "You ok?" He glanced back to Blade and Petra, who seemed to be listening to his brother go on and on. Perhaps this might be a fine time to see how open Braeden would be.
Vaarak seemed to remember Blade's previous comment about not knowing how long the Jabbar pack would reside in the lands. He asked, "So... what's it like in your home? Is it as nice as this?" He knew different pack lands could vary, as he'd seen many during his travels. His older brother had made it a point to ensure Vaarak learned as much useful information that would be retained.

| Petra nodded her head respectfully as Balthier gracefully declined her offer, and looked over to his brother Vaarak and the femora in tow behind him, Braeden. Again, she noticed how disturbed the femme looked when she held her gaze for too long, so she looked away, then turned to Vaarak with an amused smirk as he went blabbering on about all sorts of things. She grimaced as she heard that there had been a death, but knew she could do nothing for the wolves that would mourn. As he asked how long they would be here for, Petra frowned and looked to Blade. It seemed that none of them knew for how long, but certainly they would do something about Jabbar. They just had to! But at least it was peaceful here for the time being. She wouldn't mind staying... Her thoughts were interrupted as Vaarak's loud and captivating voice cut the air again, boasting about his brother. She shook her head, smiling. He sure was talkative, but it was certainly better to meet friendly wolves than enemies. Braeden followed Vaarak, watching him closely and letting her eyes dart warily between him and the unfamiliar wolves. She paused when he did, looking to Balthier, then moved herself between the two brothers, watching from behind. Suddenly Vaarak's maw opened and he let forth a long speel, seemingly excited as he spoke, almost as if he couldn't slow down. She was surprised by his sudden loudness, but he spoke too quickly for her to understand a word of it. She wondered how the rest of them could catch on so easily. She snorted, feeling a little bit frustrated by her predicament. All of these wolves understood each other so well, so easily, but she struggled to understand the simplest words. Her shoulders slumped and she shook her head. Looking to Vaarak again, she felt slightly more comfortable, assuming he wouldn't be talking so much if the other wolves were any danger. | |

| He looked at Balthier, quite intrigued now. The wolf was sharp as well as social. It made him wonder briefly how matched they were intelligence-wise. "Doesn't sound like a bad idea. We seem to be similar enough to aid one another..." Blade glanced at Petra as Balthier turned his attention towards her to respond to her offer. This pack has more than one capable of healing, which suggested that disasters could be recovered from well enough, although this healer seemed to not mind throwing himself into the line of fire.
His attention returned as Balthier spoke of his sibling approaching, and he remembered the warning that was giving when first mentioned. Blade was unsure of how these two wolves could be related. Sure, their scent and appearance stated they were direct family, but they seemed to act very differently. While Balthier was calm and relaxed, yet alert, his younger brother was... just hyper. It was apparent that, if it weren't for his older brother, Vaarak might potentially initiate conversation with random wolves who could be hostile. He managed a faint grin as the younger wolf spoke. This was a small calm before the next fight, but he'd try to enjoy this time of calm for as long as he could. It was inevitable now that there'd be another fight coming up, whether more wolves will invade these lands or to reclaim Jabbar.
Blade glanced at Balthier briefly, who looked partly apologetic, but mostly amused. "Yes, we're from another pack. I don't think anyone knows for how long." His attention was turned back to the older sibling as he contemplated about what was said about him before replying to Vaarak, "Your brother sounds quite sneaky," leaving up for the others to interpret what he may have meant. So there had been a casualty. That explained why some of the wolves weren't here, although that didn't account for why Akiko, and now Rawbones, weren't present. His attention turned back to the younger, as he started talking again. "Yes, he is, actually! He knows a lot about humans, because he always steals their weapons and food when they're out in the forests, so he picked up on many of the words they use. He hasn't done that since we've settled down here, and I've never known how he just takes things from under their gaze. He says he's not going to teach me, because it's not something I should know, since there had to be a good reason."
To Blade, it almost looked like Vaarak was pouting as he finished that statement. He looked at Balthier, who didn't looked fazed by this release of information. So, sharp, social, protective brother, healer, and thief. Vaarak had mentioned, though, they had been travelling. He wondered if it was also a long time. Those were the kinds of skills that a wanderer who makes contact with others would develop, especially with a younger wolf in tow. Blade wondered how differently he might have been if he hadn't kept to himself for nearly the whole time he traveled.

| Cinder
Cinder's ears flicked forward hearing Link's bark as he approached the den and then she felt Zelda kiss her cheek and watched as she nuzzled her pups and sighed. Her ear tilted to the side for a moment as Zelda slipped from the den. Cinder kept her silver eyes glued to the bright hole that was the entrance and then like an angel decending from heaven into the darkness, Link came. She blinked silver eyes as he paused to look at her but it was only for a breath or two. Cinder could have cried for joy feeling his form wrap around her and him pressing his head into her fur. She leaned back against him and took deep breaths, inhaling his scent. His content rumble came to her ears and she murred at him softly. "Are you alright Link?" she asked softly her voice cracking slightly with worry. She looked up at his face ears cupped forward and silver eyes overflowing with love for him.

| Balthier didn't look one bit offended when Blade spoke quite bluntly. "And you, Blade, don't make much casual conversation, preferring to think and observe. Everyone needs some thinkers in their packs, but I'm sure we can work on adding a few social practices if you're willing." Tilting his head towards Petra, he replied with a grin, "Ah, that's kind of you to offer, but I should be fine for a while. My brother, who's receiving basic training, did apply the herbs... a bit sloppily, but I'll let you know if I need more professional assistance. Ah, Petra, Blade, looks like Vaarak and Braeden are coming over." He stepped back a few paces, unsure how close Braeden would venture towards the pair.
Vaarak noticed her posture, and said, "Safe," before slowly walking over. By the time he got closer, Balthier was telling the pair of wolves of their arrival. He wondered if Balthier did that knowing, his brother was within earshot to hear both names. He never really paid attention to details like this before, and wondered if it was the result of what happened recently. Balthier was backing up, towards Braeden as Vaarak continued forward. He paused to look at them for a second before opening his jaws and saying, "Hi, I'm Vaarak. You two, and some of the others here, are from another pack, right? Are you going to be staying for a while? It's really peaceful... well... until recently, that is, but the land still appears to be calm. Did my brother tell you about the human who was here before you guys arrived? I didn't see what happened, but my brother was fighting the human one-on-one at some point. When it was over, and I arrived, he had the hunter's knife in his possession. I hope I can be as awesome as my brother and some of the other wolves in this pack. Unfortunately, in the attack, we lost one wolf, which is probably where Morgan is right now. I need to visit later..."

| Zelda was pleased how Rodion reacted and she laughed along. Getting a better footing in the water she was thankful for a full overcoat that prevented the chilly water from getting to her skin. She had not quite realized how close winter was. Hopefully the game did not migrate too far this year. She noticed him coming round for a counter attack laughing she shifted away from his lunge but it was too late and next thing she knew his face was pressed against her own and she found herself frozen and the only movement was his immediate back off and her blinking. He looked quite put off and a little more than embarrassed and she felt her own face get how. But what nonsense! Zelda was far to old to be embarrassed over something like this! But even still when he met her gaze, for she had been intent on him this whole time, she did not falter but held onto his pools. Her own blue beryl eyes steady fascinated with the situation. What was this sudden change between them? Or was it only sudden to her? Rodion had always been courteous and her friend...probably her best friend now that she thought about it...But oh...but it couldn't...no...
Her face cracked into a smile "It's alright." Breaking the moment because she didn't know what else to do.And she shook her pelt and propelled herself towards the shallows. "Best we get going, I'm dead tired and I'm sure I didn't do either of us a favor with a romp in the cold water." She held onto her smile and stood on the shore waiting for him feeling more than a little nervous on the inside but there was a small portion that was tightening up in a panic. A panic, if not controlled, that would consume her and bring her to the ground where she would lose herself in the terror of the past...

| Petra waited calmly beside Blade as Balthier approached the two of them and introduced himself. She smiled in a friendly manner to him as he greeted them, and nodded her head. She remembered his name, and was glad to hear that her face was at least familiar to him. Although, she knew she was quiet and shy most of the time, and wouldn't have been surprised if he'd never noticed her before. She glanced over to Vaarak as Balthier made mention of him, and her eyes flickered over Braeden's lean form, then back to Balthier as he mentioned her rough past. She frowned at the idea. How unfortunate. She'd never been around humans, but everything she'd heard about them had been negative, and she couldn't imagine dealing with them.
"My name is Petra," she said softly. She could have mentioned that she admired his work as a medicine wolf, because she had watched him do his best when Cinder had brought Lacuna here, but she didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable knowing someone like her had been watching unnoticed. Besides, Blade had started speaking, and she was surprised to hear his voice in the presence of strangers. He certainly needed to work on his social etiquette, as some wolves may have been offended by his bluntness, but at least he was trying to make conversation.
As Blade took note of Balthier, and the fact that he was wounded, Petra's healer side came forth and she stepped closer to the older wolf. She could immediately scent the mixture of herbs upon his pelt, and realized that he had treated himself, yet she couldn't help her instincts when she found out he was hurt. "I'm a healer as well," she said shortly, "I realize you've already tended to your injuries, but if you need something more, I'd be willing to help." She offered her kindness freely to him, as she would to anyone she thought needed help; she'd even helped Legend after all that he had done to the wolves of Jabbar, and to Cinder. She just couldn't help that caring part of herself. In this situation, she wasn't aware that Vaarak also had some skill with medicine, and could easily help his brother. Braeden was keenly aware of the couple of wolves that were looking in their direction, and she followed their gazes between Balthier, Vaarak and herself. She glanced to her friend and noticed that he seemed quite interested in Blade and Petra, causing Balthier to step in front of him to stop him from going forward. Braeden shrunk back, wondering why he made such a gesture. Was there danger? She watched as Balthier went forward alone, and her hackles rose, not knowing what to expect next; and those two, they kept looking her way, before glancing away quickly. She snapped out of it a little when she heard Vaarak speak to her, and looked to him instead. His voice did not sound frantic as he asked his question and gestured towards the pair of foreigners. Pinning her ears back, she nodded her head. She would go with him, if he wanted to go over to them, and she would watch from a safe distance.

| Rodion had just expected them to keep on walking, but before he knew it, a force was taking him down into the river. He let out a playful cry as he and Zelda fell into the waters. His head went under for a moment, and rising with a gasp, a laugh, beautifully carefree burst forth from his throat. He shook the water from his ears and swam towards her. He lashed out with his paws, sending a wave of the autumn-chilled water in her face. It felt so good to have these freedoms again. He was actually having... fun. It had literally been years since the las time he could recall such a thing. The cold water seeped deep into his bones. At first it tensed him, but he soon grew acclimated to its temperature and found the flow of the water rather relaxing. Though he prepared himself for Zelda's next onslaught, he was calm. Perhaps not yet fully at peace, but calm in the face of this newfound self. He lunged forward through the slow water, grabbing at her with his own heavy paws. He tried to pull at her just as she had dragged him into the water, and was aiming for her scruff, though he couldn't quite reach. Rodion intended to dunk her under and turn the tides in his favor, but the bottom of the river gave beneath his paws and forced him forward instead. With an odd splash, the bru dipped forward and by no will of his own pressed his nose to hers. Immediately he recognized the situation and backed away with an awkward, bashful chuckle. He looked away at the scenery, down to his paws. He tried to keep her gaze for the briefest of seconds but couldn't bring himself to do it. Smiling sheepishly he focused on the water. "Umm..." 'Rodia you klutzy fool!' "Sorry..." He forced himself to look back up at her, and was caught in just staring again, intently, almost intensely, searching for a reaction. | |
