| The sound of the very little life filled the young fem's ears as it seemed to have distracted her from the others getting in their places for the hunt; before long, it was ready to commence and her dark heart sank to the top of her neck, making her gag a little before they conutined. She watched Rawbones and Echo, as they went to the brush and waited for the prey. Slowly, not looking at them moving, she could sence them in position. Now, before the hunt could ever begin, her small group of three would need to get in position. The scent of the prey that they was hunting grew stronger to Kali, seeming though to sink her heart. She followed the white wolf when he had flicked his tail to them. While she was listening to Crow, she looked around the summer season here, which was every unlike her pup home, back at her old, burned down home. In the summer months, where she had lived, it would be every cold; In the winter months, it would be...hot. Maybe it was because of... no...it was just unknown. When she had heard the last of the bru's commands, she nodded and went in deeper with him into the brush. Crow being beside Kali was inconfortble and made it a better chance to look in his eyes. She closed them slowly to help the temptation to look as he spoke the commands for the hunt. Her body trembled slowly, making descented timing between each of the shivers. Her wishing for the eyes to not trace the sound of the voices or the eyes of the elk. Enemy; that would fill her mind, and she would not stop until the thought would leave her eyes and brain. A low, slient growl came her mouth, and it was angry. This was one of her only chances to prove that she belonged in this pack of strong wolves. Her claws dug into the solf ground, ready to leap out to the moose. The only thing that could go wrong...is looking into the eyes of the prey...or worse, one of the pack. | |

| Tristan began to pace as the hunt commenced. A moose was the exact thing that had put him where he was now, begging for meals and scraping by on smaller prey. He knew the pack would work together and all would be well, but it made his heart race to see his only son down there. What if he was hit? Hopefully he would be smarter, less cocky. He already was in other aspects of his life. Truly, the old bru felt a rash of jealousy towards Conall. He was more calm, cool, and collected than he had ever hoped to be. And knew he couldn't handle a bull moose on his own. He swallowed a whine and sat himself down, perched at the vantage point. He ignored Zai and Damean in favor of the spectacle below, though the black joker did give him the shivers. He liked to play coy, much like Matthew. He would keep an eye out on that one.
Crow crouched onto his haunches as Exodus began her chase. He rolled his blades back, feeling the adrenaline pump and the joints loosen. He licked at his chops and gave his two charges a look. "We're coming from the side and Ex is at the back," he whispered, "Best way to surround it? Quick now." The young femme gave the two brus a look. She was frustrated that she honestly didn't have the right answer, though there were a million creative ideas in that head of hers. Conall stared straight ahead, calculating. "You can take it on this side," he jerked his head toward the fae. "Crow, you can get in front of it because you're the biggest. I'm smaller so I can run underneath and catch it on the other flank. It would take to long to circle around the back." The nameless femme snorted, jealous, but impressed. "Good." Crow offered, then disappeared faster than they could blink. There was no time for anything else. He made a beeline for the front of the moose, keeping a few paces ahead and straying away from its deadly equipment. A few snaps kept it scared. He risked a quick glance and saw the two pups coming for the beast.
The femme had burst out of the brush straight after Crow. She may have been outsmarted, but she wasn't going to be outperformed. She caught up, her longer, older legs carrying her faster to the prey, and began snapping at the bull's side. She would wait for Conall to make the move.
Conall shook his head at his friend's rash move and followed behind quickly. He had to time this perfectly or he'd end up like his father... or deader. He ran along side his female friend, and was grateful when she let him move to the inside. He gave himself till the count of three, dove, and rolled to the other side. The ebon bru was pleasantly surprised to find himself alive. He coursed along the left side steadily.
The fae found her opening and latched onto the beast's skin. It began to frantically turn in her direction, trying to shake her off and close the space. But as it turned and ran, it was sending itself straight for Kali to help Crow with the assist.
Crow hated to admit it, but he was impressed by their wordless tact. Now where was Echo?

| Rawbones perked as he saw Exodus rush out at the moose, redirecting it, turning it right into the trap that was waiting for it. He grinned wildly, all his teeth showing, when he saw the wolves in waiting jump out to ambush the moose. His eyes darted to the undergrowth behind them. Though he could not see Kali, he could detect her scent, and knew she was waiting just beyond Crow to make an assist. He waded through the swampy muck until he found steadier ground, then started running, following behind the moose's trail. The other hunters would slow the moose down, and it wouldn't be long before he, Echo and Exodus caught up to lend their aid where needed. Rage and bloodlust ran through his veins heavily now, though it was much easier to control when there was prey in front of him, rather than when he was fighting, at which point he became blind to friend and foe - all wolves became a target when that happened. He focused his wild aggression on the prey, growling as he ran onward, trying to catch up on old, stiff limbs.. | |

| He watched Damean's fading form before feeling Petra against him once more. It felt better having his mate by his side again, and at the moment, he didn't mind what they did as long as they remained that way until duty called once more. "Let's go and watch, then."
He set off in the direction of the pack, aiming to watch from a little higher than ground level so he and Petra wouldn't be in the anger zone of running prey. He didn't want to be too high so they could quickly mingle with the pack when they were finished, and so he could observe all the younger members.
His thoughts went to the senior Damean, and wondered what he'd be doing, were he to be alive. Hunting with the pack and Jaded, who no doubt would have lived if her mate had, or watching from afar, like their son currently was.

Her hot, excited blood fell into a calm as they crept up upon the prey... A bull moose, with a rack three times larger than she and able to throw a wolf far enough to maim. The swampy water pooled around her legs, chilling her from the warm summer, mosquitoes and gnats flitting about her face. She wrinkled her nose and repressed the urge to snap at the bugs. They were breaking her concentration. She inhaled, slowly but surely, steadying herself so she wouldn't make a false move when the time came. She settled herself next to Rawbones, glancing at Exodus, who did the same, but on the opposite side. She looked across the swamp, unable to smell the others since they were downwind, as well as unable to see them. But, Rawbones must know where they were at, for it would be where he would direct the moose, if he could. She stood quietly, crouching so that she was almost up to her chest in water, paws sinking in the muck, but not sucking her in, patient.
Then, everything happened at once. Rawbones surged forward, barking and startling the moose, who stood up and ran for a space between the trees. Exodus flew out next, and Echo stood and watched as she redirected the bull towards the others in the brush. All three of them appeared like bloodthirsty raptors, making leaps and jumps at the moose, trying to chase it into Kali's direction, who would make the killing blow. Echo clenched her teeth, frantically searching for a place she could fit in, a place between the teeth and the hooves... There!
Echo took off, a new kind of blood racing through her, cutting through the water like an ivory sword. The mud on her paws tried to pull her under, but she didn't slow, and instead curved around Rawbones and Conall and took a strike at the bull, sharp fangs sinking into the soft flesh between its torso and hind leg. The moose let out a sound that rattled its entire body, rearing and trying to rid itself of the wolves, but Echo held on, talons latched in its fur. She wouldn't let go, she wouldn't! Daija was on the other side, but it wasn't enough to weigh it down and -
"Aah!" Her teeth came loose and she went tumbling into the water, the moose and the other wolves stampeding ahead. There was the taste of moose blood and her own blood in her mouth... Some of her puppy teeth must have gotten loose. Regardless, there was still a chance for her to help take the bull down. She began to sprint to catch up when a pain unlike any other ricocheted through her, clutching her heart and making her double over, head ducking underwater. Her stomach pitched and she coughed, squeezing her eyes shut, a whimper escaping her. She thrashed about in the swampy water, her blood hot, scorching, burning. She was choking, choking! It felt like her insides were grabbing at her, trying to pull her in, her body practically sinking into the water, almost drowning. Somewhere inside her head she thought she heard a voice speak, an ancient chant, a forgotten ritual, but her screams rose even higher above them. She raised her head as if to howl, hearing her own spine crack and she... stood still.
Absolutely still, eyes red.
She charged for the moose again, but with a speed unlike any other. Whoever she was... She was not Echo. She seemed to not even be of wolven kind. As if controlled by an outside force, or was it inside? Some kind of demon... within? She zipped past the others and made another leap, snarling like a beast out of hell, jaws wide and talons outstretched, but her aim was not for the moose or any other kind of prey.
It was for Daija, with an intent to kill.

| Akiko, who had stood waiting for Gladiator's response, turned and shooed Damean off to the dens with a quick snarl that brooked no argument. Eyes set on Gladiator again his tones snapping at her. Ugh, it was pathetic. Her mouth felt thick with saliva, muscles tensed, nostrils flared reading the emotionally charged air. Suddenly she just felt so fucking weary. Her mouth shut with an audible clack nose wrinkling in a snarl. She was vaguely aware of howls about the packs lands and knew that her presence was needed elsewhere. Looking into Gladiator's blazing eyes she felt a strange emotion drop down into her stomach and she sniffed in blatant disdain. They had been standing there far too long and with vicious intent snapped at him. "Matters not to me, get the hell out of here and do something useful like borders. I cannot play childish games with you." Leveling her own blazing eyes at him she growled and turned and slipped into the trees, her form fleeting as a ghost.
Firstly she moved down to the river and using her nose located a soft mossy area and pawed out a rock revealing a small portion of some sort of meat which she swallowed quickly feeling marginally better. She needed to eat something more satisfying. Moving to a shallow area of the river she wadded in careful not to step on any sharp rocks and submerged herself. Sitting in the shallows, her base in the water, she meticulously washed out her pelt of the days travels.
It was some time later when she finished stepping back onto land and drying her pelt in the air. She went at a brisk trot knowing in the back of her mind that at this point Damean had probably wandered off from the den. Pups were predictable. Princes even more so. Making her ways to the dens just in case she found hers empty and with recent traces of Petra at the entrance. Looking to the sky she realized some time had passed since she been around the pack. Sighing she pinched her eyes together and held her head down. A moment later she looked back up, shook her pelt, and trotted into the forest.
What she encountered was a flurry of scents from all sorts of wolves and if she knew Jabbar with the absence of wolves around a hunt must be taking place. There were a few unfamiliar ones and she wondered what that was about. Something pulled at the edge of her memory. Brushing it aside she followed the obvious trail and the most likely hunting grounds for big game. Soon enough she found herself watching from her own vantage point unaware that there were other onlookers elsewhere too.
She watched the hunt start and quickly descended and moved closer at a clipped pace. She found herself down in the hot zone in no time. As she broke free of the trees she ran along their line. Her small body undetected for the time being. She watched as wolves she knew drove the bull closer and then there were some unfamiliar ones. Interesting. They were young... She was close enough to smell the bulls terror now. Her chest rumbling with her own antsy growl. She then she saw Echo launching herself...

| Petra nodded her head as Blade agreed to go watch the hunt, and smiled as she let him take the lead. She felt more comfortable with someone else guiding her, especially her mate. She came up to take her place by his side, padding along at the pace he set until they reached a good viewing area. Damean was nearby, with Zaiaku hanging nearby. A disturbed rippled went up her spine, and she looked away from the large bru, focusing herself on Blade. She placed herself close to his side, letting their pelts meld together. She watched as the hunters made their moves, and she felt herself become excited for them, knowing the adrenaline that would flow through them all as they chased down their target. Her smile grew wider as she saw the wolves chasing and coralling the prey exactly where they wanted, right into the ambush awaiting it. A sudden dash of white from nearby startled her, but then she recognized Akiko's snowy pelt. She was suprised to see the beta, but glad also. There was so much business to get done when this hunt was over. Petra continued to watch as the hunt progressed normally, until Echo made a sudden lunge. At first it seemed as if the pup was going for the prey, but it was clear that her launch path this time was directed at one of the other youth. The hybrid's soft, green pools opened wide, and she stepped forward, tail curled over her back. She wanted to believe that her eyes were tricking her, but she could see the youngster clearly aimed for the older whelpess. "They might need us down there," she said quietly, looking to Blade, then back to the pack. And then she couldn't hold back. She darted forward, knowing that somebody was going to get hurt, whether it was Daija, or some other distracted wolf. | |

| OOC: I think I'll just keep using Daija's name in the posts, just try to avoid having the characters say it. It'll make it easier on us.
IC:
Crow could smell Echo before he saw her. She joined them in the attack. She was making a valiant effort, but couldn't seem to latch on to their prey. He was keeping the front end of the beast in check until she had an opportunity to land a good hit, but it looked like it wasn't to be. She went down after her grip failed, and he hesitated for a moment, worried for her safety. She struggled, but was back on her feet. She looked like she was channeling her rage heavily. He breathed a heavy sigh of relief that she was alright, and continued coursing the moose. When he took a second glance, his stomach jumped and his heart sank. He knew the look in her eyes. There many wolves he had seen with a redness in their eyes, he had succumbed to it himself once. This wouldn't be good for the hunt.
It was all too quickly that Crow saw her going for Daija. He snarled in frustration, but had to keep focused. He if he let go, the pack would be let down. And to him it was all of them versus the life of a near stranger. Besides, he wouldn't make it to them without getting trampled. Daija was big. She could at least try to fight Echo off until they brought the prey down. Someone would come. Just not him. He held fast to his place and barked to Rawbones and Conall to make some kind of move. They were two down and had to take it down before they wore themselves out.
Daija wasn't sure how much longer she could hold on. Her jaws were getting sore, and she didn't have the kind of claws that could dig into flesh. She was excited to see out of the corner of her eye that Echo had joined them, but she didn't seem to be in the best of positions. In her periphery she could see the body roll away. Damn. That was too... She was coming back. And fast. But she wasn't headed for the same spot. What the hell was she doing? The fae's eyes widened in the last second when she realized that Echo wasn't going for the moose at all. She had become the prey.
Muscles weakened from holding on for so long, she went down easily and hard. She tumbled away and despite the shock, she had enough sense in her head to roll them away from the charging moose. They were a rolling, scrambling mass of blood, fur and claws, white mixing with grey and brown, both mixing with red. She could taste three different flavors on her tongue, one from Echo, one from the prey, and one her own. Great. She scratched and snapped at her attacker. "Echo, what the hell?!" She managed, completely off her guard. Great, this hunt was going to shit and it would all be their fault.
Conall could see the two clash. Everything in him screamed to go to them and break it up. But this hunt was so important... No. He had to finish this. Damean would see. His father would see. They would do something. His thin black frame surged forward. He had an opening when the bull reared up as Daija fell off. He leapt and took a hold of an outstretched leg. Its hoof came slamming down to the ground and took him with it. But he had managed in his fall to cut a hamstring between his jaws. The beast collapsed on it with a bellow. It was too startled to continue limping away immediately, and was hesitant before it continued the fight for its life.
Conall rose slowly, sore and panting. He had a moment to catch the wind that had been knocked out of him while the others came in to bring it down. He peered up at the ridge and could see his father perched, watching him with bated breath. He passed a long distance wag of the tail to him before loping off to catch up with the others. He could hear Crow bark "Take it down!" and saw him launch at the moose's throat and latch on. His young paws caught him up with Rawbones, and he could see another white fae streaking up ahead of them. He would follow the old bru's lead and see where it took him.

| Rawbones was closing in as he saw the moose faulter, its leg badly damaged by Conall. He felt a furious pride flare through him for the young male, even though he hardly knew the pup, and didn't normally care for wolves he wasn't familiar with. The hunt was going perfectly. They would all have full bellies, and the younger members had gotten some important experience working with their elders. It was at the moment he was nearly upon the prey that his attention was drawn to the squabbling females. He had hardly noticed, so focused on the prey and not expecting interruption of the hunt such as this. The sounds of Echo's deadly snarls then reached his ears, and a wild rage flared within his eyes, nearly the same as Echo herself. He could see teeth snapping and claws flailing. Without hesitation, Rawbones was diverted from the hunt entirely; all he could see was the back of Echo's head as he surged forward. His jaws reached for her scruff, trying to rip her away from her inappropriate target. He did not try to question her or talk her out of it right now, knowing it was unlikely she would hear or even comprehend words. And he did not have the words for her right now, his mind in a flurry of its own. He just knew that he could not stop until she was physically subdued; only then would words make a difference. With horrid snarls, Rawbones tried to put himself overtop of Echo, anything to hinder her movement and stop her from her mindless attack. The elder was barely holding himself together, and he knew he might lose it if blood fell upon his tongue, so his jaws stayed just light enough so as not to pierce the skin should he make contact. He did not want to bestow his full rage upon any members of his pack... he had already changed Exodus' life with his deadly reactions and he did not want to repeat the same mistake... | |

Red. The color of blood.
It was all she could see. It was all she could taste. It was all she could smell, touch, understand. Blazing through her veins like a wicked poison, her aim true and striking Daija down. They tumbled through the swampy murk, her talons digging into the older fem, jaws searching for a bone to crush, a throat to rip, a vessel to tear, more vicious than she had ever been. Daija's own claws struck her but she paid no mind to the punch in the cheek or the scratch on the hide. She didn't even hear Daija's shout, her own snarls loud and screeching, as any wild animal's would. She landed atop her and raised her head to make for another killing blow, when she was sent spiraling head-over-paws away.
She wasn't out of the woods just yet, though. Rawbones charged upon her, but the cold water and his snarl brought her back, red eyes snapping almost instantaneously to blue. Her ears pulled back and her tail shot between her legs, eyes wide. What was going on? Her heart was still beating like a bird's wings in her chest and panic overtook her. Instead of complying and calming down, she managed to wrestle onto her belly and wriggle out from Rawbones' larger form, skittering out between the hole in his legs. She only bounded away a few yards, the sight of an angry, bloodied Daija and furious, intimidating Rawbones terrifying her even more. She kept her ears pinned and tail tucked, knees shaking. "I..." she began, but was at a loss for words. What had she done? What could she do? "It... I need to be alone," was all she could sputter out, before turning on her heel and bolting for the woods.
She didn't know where she was running, but all she knew was that she had to get out of there. A gash in her neck rippled pain all the way down her shoulder and to her front leg, leaving a trail of crimson and mud on the brush surrounding her. She barreled through a thicket of thorns, yelping all the way, but she knew she couldn't slow down. She had to put as much distance between herself and the others as possible. Whatever had happened, it was all her fault, all her fault, and because of... something. It was this fear of the darkness within her that kept her going. She couldn't tell if it was more blood or raindrops that splattered like tears on her coat, now thick with filth. But, the clouds did lower overhead and darken, however, they did not bring with them the wrath of thunder and lightning, only rain. Echo ran and ran, out of the swamp, between the trees, and emerged at the shore of Onyx Lake.
The crystalline waters crashed at her sides as she ran right in, ducking her head beneath the surface. That horrible feeling from before clenched her insides and her vision went red again and she found herself snapping and snarling at the water all around her, paws splashing at her reflection and surrounding area. Then the clenching stopped and she found herself screaming, "Leave me alone! What do you want!" She knew that whatever it was that was taking hold of her, demanded something from her, overtaking her body by force. She paused, glancing at the ripples in the water she had made, and the face of a lavender-eyed, white female stared back. Anger surged through her again. "And you!" she snarled, yelling at the wolf in the water, though it was clearly not her reflection. It was another figment of her mind making itself known. "This is all your fault, isn't it? What do you want with me? What have I done to you? Why do you... Why do you..." But she couldn't even finish her words. The tears were already coming and she couldn't stop them, breaking down into gasping sobs. Suddenly, something in her mind clicked. "Fine. If that's the way you want to be... so be it. But I don't have to," she growled, and went deeper into the water, and ducked her head in. The water rushed in her ears and she inhaled, trying to get the water in, but there was an echo... An echo in her head.
"Killing yourself will not put a stop to me, my dear."
And her vision went red again and then she was at the surface. She burst from the water and went back to the shore, now knee-deep in, the mud and blood seeping from her coat, swirling in the lake around her. It was useless. There was no way out of this. But she wouldn't let... whatever it was inside take control. Her tears still drained down her cheeks as she took in deep breaths, trying to control her racing blood, her beating heart. She needed to calm down. The monster fed off of her emotions. She glanced at the rainy sky above and knew from that point on that things... would never be the same.

| Startled eyes flashed anger as the young she wolf attacked another young femme unknown to her. What in Fenrir's name was this? A low growl emitted from her throat and she picked up her pace. The hunt had been interrupted and Akiko's ire flashed at the thought of a missed meal. But it seemed Rawbones moved in on the situation before it could get any worse. Another younger bru whom she did not know came in fast and hard to hamstring the bull and moments later Crow was on it's neck. She knew that they had aimed to herd it towards another wolf for ambush but things had gone awry and she was taking control of the situation. The longer the bull stayed up the more of a danger it was to everyone. More than once she had seen a seemingly beaten animal lash out and break bones. Darting forward she accelerated, legs pumping, heart beating to the drum of the kill. Whizzing past the young one who had ham stringed it she leapt and with all her weight, as little as it was, landed hard on the bulls back. But before her momentum took her off the other side she clamped down on the back of it's neck. Using her momentum and the beast's own unsteady balance she knocked it into the ground with a deafening thud were it uttered a bellow of panic and knowing defeat. It still kicked out it legs and she prayed Crow was smart enough to remove himself from danger. Quickly and careful of his rack of antlers she dove around latching onto the bulls nose and after a moment it's thrashing ceased and she waited for Crow to finish the killing blow. Her eyes blazed with the heat of the hunt, nostrils flared taking in the scent of everything. The world was awash with fear, anger, confusion and aggression.
Stepping back from the kill her eyes swept those around her. Her maw bloodied, a stark contrast against her snow white fur. Her mouth clacked together once, as if she needed to remember how to speak after using the very same to murder. "Would someone care to explain what the hell just happened. And are there any injured?" She could already see Petra making her way towards them, the healer concered for those in the pack. Akiko counted them lucky to have someone as she within their ranks.

| Petra came down the incline, heading towards the pack where they had stunted the moose. Her eyes were already searching out for blood, for limping, anything that would indicate a need for her assistance. She was concerned about the young female who had been Echo's target. She seemed roughed up, but not severely wounded. Still, she would see to the femme shortly. For now her attention shot to the moose, which, although on the ground, still struggled against the wolves surrounding it. It hadn't lost enough blood yet. She hoped that it would not begin kicking out, but she was sure the wolves in the hunt would be able to handle the downed animal. She had to look after any injuries now. She padded over to the young female, whose chance at the hunt had been cut short. She felt bad for her in a way, but now was not the time to pity her. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked the femme, looking her over, but trying not to be invasive. The grizzled old brute rumbled with annoyance as the small femme slipped away from his grasp. His wild, silver orbs were locked on her frame, observing her posture and the confused look in her eyes. He didn't really understand what was going on with her - it was potentially very dangerous, or, if it was something she could learn to channel, could be a great asset to Echo. But she looked extremely upset, her legs quivering. She stuttered a few words and then left their presence, dashing off into the woods. Rawbones had not come down from his rage yet, and her fear scent filled the air, causing him to take chase after her fleeting form. Anger flared through his clouded mind. What was with all these whelps thinking they could act out and then just leave and be on their own? I'll show her a thing or two.. he thought, but as he raced on, he realized he was not going to catch up with her. He had drained himself on the hunt. Grumbling to himself, he slowed his pace somewhat and follwed her scent, which was headed in the direction of his favourite resting area. Onyx Lake.Though still angry (mostly at his aging body), he had burnt away a lot of the adrenaline that had been surging through him earlier, and the time it took him to find Echo allowed him to conjure some clearer thoughts. He needed to tell the whelpess that she had a gift, whether it was something she enjoyed or not. The only way she was going to be able to understand herself, instead of fearing the outcome, was to come to terms with it and learn to cope with the way she was. When she finally came into sight, her head was just coming above the water's surface, and he wondered what she was up to. Bathing her filthy coat? Something told him that was not why she'd come to the lake. He pushed himself to get over to her more quickly, and forced his entire body to take on a neutral posture. His tail hung loosely behind him, hackles lay flat and his facial expression softened. He did not want to appear threatening to the troubled whelp, now that he might have a chance to talk to her. "Echo," he called to her as she looked to the clouds, "I need to talk to you."He padded over to her, stopping a few feet from her. "I know you're confused about what happened," he said, seating himself as he looked upon her, "But you can't just run away from it, or you will never grow. We all have to face the things we fear most in this life. That's what makes us strong." His eyes ran over her form, then her face, trying to see what was going through her mind. It was impossible to tell what had happened with her and the older she-pup. He wanted to know more about Echo, to dig deeper and find her strengths, for he knew deep down she had talent and gifts. But she needed to learn how to control all of it, to take ownership of it and use it to her advantage. "Echo, what can you tell me about what happened?" he queried, shifting his weight slightly, "Where does such ferocity come from?" His lips then sealed, for he wanted to hear what she had to say, or what sort of explanation she had to offer, if anything. He was already sure that she didn't really know, but maybe some hint would come up in the words she spoke. | |

| The shallow water flew up into her nares, choked off her words, made the situation even more frightening than it had already become. Echo's sharp young fangs snapped at her, and it took all of her strength to dodge each deadly strike. It was a miracle when the attacking beastess was lifted from her, seemingly out of nowhere. Daija couldn't help but let out a yelp when Echo's claws were torn from her skin. She raised her head from the muck in time to see no miracle, but Rawbones dragging her away, followed by the fae bolting off and away from everyone else. She never noticed the brief change in Echo's countenance, too busy blinking the muck out of her eyes. As far as she was concerned, Echo was a coward and a bitch.
Daija huffed and snorted, expelling the offending swamp water from her nose, then sat up slowly, feeling sore, broken, and defeated. She began licking at the wounds in her shoulder, vaguely aware of a moderate trickle of blood coming off the right side of her neck. Echo had landed a good hit on her. Rage threatened to take over her emotions like the bile rising in her throat. As her tongue flicked over the bloodstains that didn't seem to ebb, her lips curled, pulled back as she replayed the attack in her mind. A growl or two escaped from deep within her subconscious and made their way to the open air. And just when she thought she had found a friend she could put some trust in. 'What a fool you are. You should have known better than to put your trust into anyone so fast. Your whole life has been built on lies and distrust. Why change that now?' What pissed her off even more was the fact that Echo was smaller than her. If she hadn't been so worn out from that moose... She slammed her paw down into the mud, quivering with anger. The fae held back the urge to give chase to that little...
A shadow fell over her. She looked up to see Petra hovering, gave her a glance, and snarled at the ground. "Fine," she grumbled, standing. Daija lifted her front left paw with a sharp intake of breath and a look of disdain directed at no one. "Just a little sore." She didn't want to take out any anger on hybrid femme, so she gave her a look, flicked her brows in an attempt at a farewell, and began a slow limp toward the felled prey. Still kicking? At least she would get a chance at some warm meat. She ignored the look that Conall gave her as she approached and sat at a distance, waiting with a mixed expression of shame and vengeance.
Crow released the moose's throat as it came down. He leapt away just as a hoof came hurling his direction. Akiko took a hold of its snout and when it was finally silenced, he returned to his place. He gave a glance around. The white bru had tried to give Kali an opening but she didn't show. He shrugged and with a sigh lunged for the throat, but stopped just short of it. Looking up to see the dejected, beaten Daija, he barked to her. He wasn't usually so nice, but she had taken quite the fall, and something like that needed a pick me up. He stepped back as she dragged herself over, looking perplexed. He motioned to the throat with his crown, and sat, waiting, the false, black smile masking a deathly serious stare.
Daija crept up to the massive body. It seemed so much bigger lying there in front of her. She could smell the blood from where the fangs of the pack had taken a hold of it. It was a better alternative to her own. Lowering her maw to the vein, she could hear the slow, subtle, deep pulse beneath the fur and muscle, calling her to sink into it. With an inhale, she closed her jaws around the jugular and squeezed until it burst. Red liquid spurted onto her face and in her eyes but she didn't let go, even as the beast feebly kicked. It took a good while for the blood to drain, and as it did so it ran down the sides of her mouth and pooled onto her paws. She wouldn't look any better now than she did minutes before. When the moose was good and dead she stepped back and Crow nodded. His words rang in her ears and she smirked. He was taking her down a notch just to check her pride. "You got handed a favor this time. Don't think it's going to happen again. And try not to get the shit kicked out of you next time."

| The large moose was down. Her chances of getting in the pack was very slim.
It had been her job, HER job to kill the moose; to feel the warm blood aganist her mouth, teeth, and lips. To drain the life from the bull, but she had failed them all. She had watched it all unravel. The hunt had went good, until one fem attacked the other. The cause was unknown, as so her sceret. But all that mattered is that she had failed around 50% of the test of staying. Sadly, her chances of standing was doubtful, as she could feel the gaze of Damean.
She watched the blood of the bull fly on the new female's face and she was actually glad of that...sort of. It would have been hard not to bite on the bull's neck then one of the wolves, but she could feel the gaze of the others about her leaving and that she was a retard for not coming out. They should be thankful that I didn't or one of them would be lunch, Kali thought as she could see her nod to Crow. She could feel the verge of tears, but she stayed strong and didn't.
She would wait for the others to finish the meal then she would grab a bone later. She didn't feel like eating and the heat of the day didn't help at all. She decided to go on a walk and hopefully get far away so she could just run away. The words that she had said earlier rang in her head like a rock hitting her skull. "He wouldn't believe it, even you wouldn't." She didn't look back at the others in fear of her stupidity, fear, and her being a retard while the hunt was under way.
She slipped in the woods and came upon a small spring that was dripping water very slowly. Kali was quite thristy, but no, she didn't want it like the food; mostly because of her knoted stomach from the hunt. She sighed at the water dripping from the rock.
At least I can watch you without killing you.

| Conall was standing by, eyeing the fresh kill, but he knew it would be a while before he got any of his fill. He was still young and new, and he could do to wait. His attention began to shift, first between the kill and Daija, feeling proud for his friend that Crow gave her the killing blow, then warily between her and Crow as he spoke and flitted about them like a cold spirit. Finally, his gaze rose to look past the two of them to see Kali emerging from her hiding place. She seemed downhearted about the whole thing. The bru couldn't really blame her, neither for her feelings nor for her lack of action. The hunt had gone differently than expected.
She walked off, and he waited a moment to put some distance between them. In the meantime, he approached Crow, knowing better than to bother Daija in her state. "I don't expect to be saved anything. I'm going after Kali to try and get her back to the kill." Crow only lifted a brow at him and shook his head at a foolish child's chivalry. The pure side of his father's teachings was showing. He trotted off and followed the mysterious femme's scent easily enough. He approached slowly, knowing that the assassin in her blood would make itself quite apparent were he to burst in on her. It was then he realized that his valiant effort would be nothing without words, and anything he could conjure up to say would be far too awkward.
"You know," he offered with a small clearing of his throat, "It's not your fault. Things went wrong today. Come back and eat with us." He paused, auds pinned to his head and staring at the ground, searching for the right thing while not talking too much. "There's plenty."

"Shut up!" the snarl erupted from her before she could stop it. She bowed her head down, shivering despite the warm weather, clenching her teeth hard. She didn't want to hear what Rawbones had to say, but she could not block his words from reaching her ears. "What is there to know?" she snapped, as if what had happened was perfectly obvious, but it was more of answer that she didn't want to face. What had happened? One moment she had had her fangs on the moose, then she was thrown off, and then... She had been beneath Rawbones, and Daija was just as beaten up as she. Daija... Echo only had to catch the angry look on the fem's face to know that whatever relationship she had had with her... had been severed. And what would Damean think? Echo knew he had been watching the hunt, so he most likely would have seen what had happened to her as well. A part of her wondered where Exodus was, but another part of her just wanted to be left alone.
But Rawbones' words still ate away at her. He was sitting by, no longer infuriated, patient and waiting for an answer. She didn't have to look at him to know that he was there. She stood in the water, the ripples now softening, the mud and blood still swirling around her white coat. In this light, it appeared to be taking on a silvery hue. She closed her eyes, not wanting to see her reflection. "Everyone asks me questions they think I know the answer to. Truth is, I don't know anymore than they do. Sometimes I think I know even less," she said. "You want to know where this ferocity comes from? I don't know. All I know is that it's inside me, and that it's now my responsibility for controlling it. I... I think I've always known that it was there, though... As a younger pup, I'd have nightmares. Terrible nightmares. But I guess now I know why." She sighed. "But of course, that doesn't make it any easier... Because now I know it's there, and I'm still going to have nightmares, and that things aren't going to be the same from here on out."
She turned around, her tears still staining her cheeks, but not longer falling as much as before. She looked the old man square in the eye, her own cerulean orbs now also taking on a silvery color. "Exodus brought me here because she thought I would belong. Damean thought I would belong, too... But the thing is, whoever delivered me here, to Fire and Ice... Wanted me in the pack that they abandoned me in. Midnight Meadows." She paused again, mildly surprised at her own words. Jabbar was her home, or at least, the closest thing she had to home. And now she was talking of leaving? Yes. No. She let out a soft growl of frustration, but did not dwell on it. She knew what had to be done. "I know that Midnight is a pack of what you adults would call... pure wolves. That it's not really your kind of thing, and maybe, it's not mine, either... But as I said, it's my responsibility for controlling this demon inside me. I believe that it is in their company that I'd be able to learn how to control it or maybe even... destroy it."
Echo fell quiet, the raindrops pick-packing the water around her. She walked up on the shore to stand closer to Rawbones, but maintained a respectful distance. She tried looking him in the eye again, but her gaze fell to the ground. "I'm sorry for the trouble I caused... I almost ruined the hunt. Someone could have gotten really hurt, and it would be my fault," she apologized, head hanging in shame. "And as for Daija... or, whatever she likes to be called... I sincerely hope she's okay. I never meant to hurt her."

| The young assassin could feel the presense of one of the males that was there during the hunt. He went to see her grief. He said that it was not her fault and that things went wrong during this hunting. Because of her fear, or because of Echo's attack upon Daija. She didn't know but she didn't look back at him still, like her eyes was glued on the water falling into the spring. The spring was lower than it would have been, mostly because of the heat and drought that is happening this summer. A larger drop splached on her nose and slid off; landing in the cool water.
He had asked her to come eat. She wasn't hungry as she had stated in her mind earilier. But since he was so eager for her come join them, she stood, shook the dust of her pelt, and started to walk to the moose. Kali slowly walked over the boulders, the fallen logs, and everything else in her path until she could see the wolves that would start eating soon. She looked down at the ground for safety of the others. She sat down at the moose and sighed, still making sure that her eyes was glued to the moose and/or ground.
She grabbed a bone with a little bit of meat on it and walked near to the brush, basiclly infront of her hiding spot; though she wasn't in it. She streached her long legs on the ground as she layed down. She grabbed the bone and started to nibble on it. After the assassin had ate of the bit of meat on the bone, she rested her head on her paws and thought about what Damean would say if she had told him her side of the story. He wouldn't believe her, ask her to leave for the safety of the pack, and more than likely she would have to go to the Lone Lands and starve to death.

| Instantly blasted by her sharp tone, Rawbones had to dig his claws into the earth in an attempt to keep himself from lashing out. He may have calmed down, but he was one to be easily drawn back into anger, a state of mind that he felt very comfortable in. Still, for the moment he merely flashed her a serious glare and raise of the lip that showed his displeasure with her choice of words and snappy attitude. Then he took a deep breath and let it go. He didn't want to allow his emotions to be triggered by a mere child. He watched her as she closed her eyes and unclenched her jaw to speak. He listened, hearing what he already knew she would say - she did not know what had happened, or where any of this malicious energy came from. It was simply inside of her, something she could not rid herself of, like some sort of curse. His eyes narrowed as she continued. "It is your responsibility to control it," he commented with agreement, "But don't think that you will learn to do this alone. Life is not an easy path, but it is made more bearable when you surround yourself with those who are like-minded." Then Echo had turned around and was looking Rawbones square in the eye, the hue of her iris shifting slightly, almost matching his own. He quirked a brow when she tried to explain where she felt she might belong. "You think you belong there?" he scoffed, shaking his head, "With the kind of power you have inside, whoever delivered you to Midnight Meadows probably hoped that you would grow up to kill them. Those wolves are naive, Echo, and they are also weak. I don't think they would stand a chance against you." He wasn't sure what sort of effect his words would have, but he hoped they would have some sort of impact. He wanted her to realize that things were not always what they seemed - she may have been dropped off there, but that did not mean her guardian had had good intentions. He watched her as she quieted and moved closer, removing herself from the lake. Her demeanor had changed somewhat, her eyes falling to the ground. Then the apologies for earlier came forth. She hung her head low, but Rawbones could only shrug. "The timing could have been better," he said, his tone casual, "But it's not the end of the world. It's something we all have in common. We've all had our share of suffering and anger. But we stick together, we're truly strong that way. If whatsername can't hold herself together here, then she doesn't belong. We all need to hold our own, and be strong or be eliminated. It seems harsh, and it's not that we don't care about one another, but that's just how it is. We can't always go chasing after the weak to make sure they're okay. They need to grow and learn to keep up." Now he thought of her indecision, and about how Echo was thinking of going elsewhere. That was something she was going to have to decide upon, and soon. He was ready to end their discussion, not really sure if he could say anything that would convince her things would be alright. She seemed bent on finding a way out, even though that would never be a reality for her. "You can choose to go wherever you believe you will belong," he said, then with a cautioning tone, he added, "Just remember... no matter where you go, you will not escape that inner demon. You will have to face it. Who you have by your side at that time is what will make all the difference." He knew that his own presence was not very comforting, but there were others, Exodus and Damean in particular, that would surely help her through her difficulties. Then he stood, looking down upon her, waiting to see if she would meet his gaze again. He could not bother himself too long with her, though, if she was not going to remain with the pack. "You had best make that decision soon. We don't raise whelps for other packs." Now he turned away from her, padding slowly back to the woods, his muscles aching and his mind tired. He didn't know where all these pups came from, but it was time for them to learn to fit in with Jabbar Junayd. | |

| He'd followed behind Petra, not quite as fast as she, but surprisingly wasn't too far behind. Little damage was done, and things were cooling off. Damean's friend... she'd run away, Rawbones going after her, who was probably the best to go after her, seeing as he had his own bouts of madness. Possibly not quite the same, but more able to understand. He observed the rest of the pack, looking at them, but seemingly not. Would Damean himself choose to come down? If so, what would his primary concern be for? There would be no judgement either way, since everyone was fine for the moment. His decision, even that to come down from his vantage point at all, would show what kind of leader the young king might become. Change could always happen, but there were always signs of the present, which is what he cared about. Whatever kind of leader Damean would ultimately be wasn't Blade's concern until the time came. Even then, he wouldn't object, remaining loyal, just as he had for the last king. If Damean became something he didn't like... he'd cross that bridge if it came. | |

Rawbones turned away, and all she could do was continue to hang her head. She had never thought that whoever placed her in Midnight Meadows would have wanted her to grow to be... the same thing that this demon wanted her to be. He called them naive, weak; but if they were so naive and so weak, how were they able to fight off the darkness themselves? How were they able to resist the instinct that the wolves in Jabbar so accepted? Perhaps there was more that the pure wolves knew than they let on. She sighed, the old man's words playing over in her head. "No matter where you go, you will not escape that inner demon. You will have to face it. Who you have by your side at that time is what will make all the difference." She sighed. "I don't want to be alone," she said aloud, thinking of Damean and Exodus... Even Crow, Conall, and Akiko. They had accepted her in, whereas the wolves of Midnight Meadows had left her out. Cinder had tried to be a good parent... but, Echo knew that she had ruined the fem's life already by fighting over something stupid with her only daughter. And then there was Zelda. No matter what, Echo knew that Zelda would never so much as welcome her to share her food, or lie beside her in a den. "I just want some answers."
No one seemed to know where she came from. Or was it... that no one wanted to tell her? Rawbones sounded as if he knew of what her parents - be in mother or father's - intentions were. If he had walked off, she would have asked him to tell her more, but she knew the opportunity was already missed. She already knew that Exodus wouldn't tell her... for reasons that probably concerned her safety. She would have to ask someone that knew of what her parents had done, who knew... everything, and wouldn't be afraid to tell her. "I will find the truth," she said, finally stepping out of the lake and shaking off her coat. She looked into the forest, Rawbones' scent still lingering from where he had been. She could follow him back to the pack, apologize, and then maybe get a chance to eat... or, she could start for Midnight Meadows, where there would be wolves that would have answers, and talents not found here. "Damn," she grumbled, torn by her uncertainty. She could feel her heart clenching at her indecision. "It's all because of... this."
Then, her legs were moving beneath her before she knew it. She headed south, but did not make the eastward curve for Midnight Meadows. Instead, she ran up to Rawbones; not enough to run into him, but close enough so she could call his name. "Rawbones!" she barked, her tail tucking and ears folding. She knew it was rude to call him out from behind, but she didn't want to miss the chance of speaking more to the elder. She could feel the blood in her veins again, her knees shaking, but this time, not out of fear, pain, or anger. Instead, it was a mild nervousness, tentative. "I... You said that everyone's had their share of suffering and anger. And that if we stick together, we're truly strong. I..." She hesitated for a moment, going over the plan that was formulating in her head. If she could learn what she could in Jabbar, then she could find her answers in Midnight. Yes. That is what she would do. "I want to be strong... but I can't do it by myself. I need... a teacher. So, please, if I may ask... Will you help me become strong?"

| Was it the past coming to haunt her? She was snapping one moment at the bull, distracted with the hunt, and then Daija came and latched on. Good job. Then came Echo and pride filled her. Oh, the pack was moving so well. Then Echo was thrown off and Exodus turned and looked at her before taking a standing jump and rush of fear as an antler jerked her way. She felt her fur move to the touch and she coughed on her own breath. She stopped and tried to resettle herself before she took flight again, only what happened next startled her and she turned to see Echo leaping again, only not at the moose, at Daija! She ran shocked, not paying attention to the bull and then Rawbones, then it stopped and she stopped looking upon Echo run. Her mouth ran dry... her body grew weak watching this and then Rawbones was off, and she... she watched Akiko make the kill. Her mind was in shock and she didn't move a muscle...
Damean shrugged a little to Zai's statement. "I haven't. I'd rather watch right now, besides. What if I see someone who doesn't fit into this equation of the pack..." the growls had died down and he had ignored them anyways, it wasn't his fight. Below he watched the wolves spring into action. It was amazing seeing their special own colors moving calculating on the kill. He watched the white mess of Echo roll away. He laughed a little and noticed Daija still holding on, what a good job. Then as his eyes went to trail to the other's Echo's white form pulled Daija down and they went tumbling. "What is she doing!?!" he yelled standing his fur on end. He growled and wished he was down there now. NOW! He turned without saying a word and started his run down the mountain side. He tripped a couple times and then a couple more landing on his side, his chin, his side again, grunting and feeling scratches and blood running down his side. His body show up towards the marshy area as he made his way through it. He arrived in the area, anger sketched on his face noticeably featured. It only softened when he saw Daija up, everyone was okay for the most part. Rawbones was gone. So was Echo. Exodus stood to the side not moving. Akiko was watching everyone. Kali and Conall were eating. Petra was checking on Daija. His head shot up calling anyone in the lands not in this area here, right now. Zai. Echo. Rawbones. Tristan. (I didn't remember if he was around, ignore if he is)
"Daija, let Petra look you over please..." He walked over to her, checking her himself, though he stood slightly shorter then her, he saw scratched and she limped. A hushed growl grew in his throat and he turned towards Conall and Kali walking over. "Good job" He addressed the young male and the female, then his blue eyes wandered to Kali. "Things happened so fast I didn't get to see if you got to participate. And I'm sorry about earlier... I was... angry. I am going to have to put personal life aside. Accept my apology?" He knew she wouldn't look him in the eyes so he didn't look directly at her. He looked to her side... and down, then to her other side, doing to her as she had done to him, to make her see... he would understand? "Maybe when this is all done, and everything is settled. Would you like to go for a walk with me... I'll ask again soon, think about it" He turned away nodding to Conall again and then headed for Akiko. "I didn't see what happened after Echo attacked... And where is Gladiator. Is it wrong I don't want him here? I don't know what to do Akiko... I want to take control. I can feel it. I can feel the need to tell everyone I am alpha, this is my land, this is what I want and what I need from everyone of them, I want to tell them that without taking their rights... but I just... I don't know... I feel conflicted turning to someone, per say Gladiator, and telling him to scram. Am I allowed? I... Arg" He stamped his foot after speaking in a hush voice. His eyes landed on Crow who was looking at Daija. He was glad his family... well most of his family was okay...

| Another day, another day. What to do, what to say.The young fem looked around as slowly but surely, the wolves of the Jabbar Junyard came to the kill and begin to THEIR well deserved meal. She watched as Damean address the other wolves as he had to her, not looking into his eyes. She had nodded to his apology, seeming as it was true. He had also asked when everything was settled from the hunt, that him and her could go on a walk together. Kali had guessed it was to clear the air that seemed to split them up. Usually, she wasn't as eager to go on a walk with someone that made her mad.But some unknown reason, she really wanted to. She had been keeping that secret since she had arrived to FnI; she was too scared to tell anyone other than herself over and over again. The fem had not trusted anyone enough to tell them. It would be bad if she told the wrong wolf who would tell all the packs and the packs would seek to kill her because of her large threat. That would be the end of her 'just beginning' life. It might be impossible to make sure that Damean knows it's true.Impossible isn't a word, it's a excuse.A sigh come from the female laying in front of the brush she was in during the hunt. She looked down upon her paws and imagined herself flying in the sky like a bird. Kali flew underneath the canyons. As she flew above the river, her paws dripped in the water until she flew upwards into the clouds. But she stopped and looked as their was a cloud making two different paths. One path was to go the rogue lands, never to return to this pack. The other path was try to stay here, and tell her deepest secret to the alpha. She only had to choose one, no questions, no asking herself. Kali chose one quickly. It looked like Damean would have to make some room for another wolf. | |

The old brute had been moving slowly, lingering somewhat, should the she-pup choose to follow him. Though he hardly heard her approach, an ear flicked back when he heard her shout his name, and he turned to see her rushing up behind him. He wasn't worried, but he gave her a cautious look, his eyes glancing over hers, looking for any sign that she enraged again. Seeing nothing suspicious, he cocked a brow, wondering what she wanted. He didn't know what she was thinking, or if anything he'd said moved her in any way. He paused, letting her catch up. He watched her, noticing her shyness, and her uncertainty. She had a lot of growing to do, but he couldn't blame her young mind for being so unsure. Things were happening around her that she didn't understand, yet what she needed at her age was stability, clarity and guidance. "You want to be strong?" he merely repeated her question, his expression unchanging. She asked if he could be her teacher. He looked away from her, glancing to the ground thoughtfully, and took a few steps forward, wondering to himself. He had already agreed to help Exodus raise her, and he did not mind the opportunity to help. But he wondered if Echo would be worth his time, or if she would just run off when things got too difficult. He looked back to her, blinking at her in silence for several more moments. "I suppose I could teach you, Echo," he finally said, "I can make you strong... but I expect some loyalty." His eyes became more serious as he spoke, and his ears flicked forward. He wondered what had suddenly changed in her mind. Was it that she really wanted to be strong, amongst them? Or was she in it for her personal gain? He wasn't used to dealing with children, and he didn't know where her mind was at. She had already appeared more mature than the other whelps in the pack, but other traits still suggested her lack of independence and uncertainty of facing the unknown. "You will only be strong when you have others beside you," he reminded her, "Always keep that in your mind as you grow." He would say no more, knowing he could only say so much to influence her. She would ultimately make her own decisions, regardless of what he did. He could only hope to teach her everything she needed to survive, and perhaps be more cunning and skillful than those around her. Then he turned away from her, flicking his tail in a beckon for her to follow. It was time for them to eat and nourish their bodies, one of the many things they could to to keep themselves healthy, alert and powerful. He wanted to move faster, but his body would not allow him to do so. He was totally drained. He snarled to himself, wishing he weren't aging so much, but he knew that was just how life went, although it surely wasn't something he was ready to accept yet. He had always been agile and strong during his youth, and he didn't want that to change. Huffing, he shrugged the thought away and glanced over his shoulder, seeing if the whelp was coming along. He wondered how things would turn out with her.. there was certainly potential within her, no matter what route she took, but the length of her journey would be determined by her actions. He hoped the best for her, and would do what he could to shape her.

When the elder wolf spoke, it was almost as if he could see inside her head. Almost. She had already made it apparent to him that she wanted to go to Midnight Meadows, but for a different reason - a reason that centered around her origins. She knew now, though, that she wasn't prepared for such a thing. Whoever had planted her there in the first place had wanted her to grow and kill the pack there... and she was still not yet grown. Therefore, within the dark realm of Jabbar is where she would stay. "Yes... sir," she said, approaching his side and standing still. "I will not leave Jabbar Junayd until I am strong enough to control myself. No matter what the circumstances." She didn't know what other kind of circumstances those would be, but she knew if she didn't say anything aloud, there would be nothing to rebound to, in case the time arose. She looked up at him, silvery-blue eyes no longer drowned in tears. "I promise, as to both you and Damean Jager."
A cool wind billowed through the trees at the vow, possibly from the rain, possibly from the ghosts within. Regardless, this was the type of promise that she knew she could not break. If she did, she knew the consequences. She hung her head and pointed her nose forward, mouth closed, showing Rawbones that she was ready to continue. Her heart thudded in her chest as she wondered what kind of scene was happening at the kill site. Akiko would be angry. Exodus would be terrified. Daija would hate her. Conall and Crow probably wouldn't know what to think. And Damean... She knew he had been watching. As her paws led her back the way she came, it suddenly felt like so long ago that the two of them had adventured in the caverns deep beneath the land. They were both growing, and they were growing... farther apart. He, with his duty as King, and she with... a demon inside. She didn't know how he would feel. Furious? Scared? Intimidated? When it came down to it, it didn't matter how any of the other wolves felt about the situation. All that mattered was his opinion. Echo walked beside Rawbones, preparing herself for what was to come.

| Gladitor had returned from the borders as Akiko instructed the ivory male still tense from the feas words. He was annoyed with her... with everyone. He laid by the trees icy blue pools watching as the others flocked around like lost dogs. He snorted. He was to old for these fulish games but he waa home or so he kept telling himself. His twisted mind traveling back to a time when blood was all that seemed right. Now he sourrounded himself with weak minded wolves... The massive brute moved away from the others giving a deep snort before leaving. He sniffed the ground almost istantly catching the scent of a wild hairrabbit he followed it. Massive mitts lightly touching the floor as if he were dancing a slow tune. He spotted the rather large mammal. It was a perfect size for him. He moved closer grouching low reading for the chase. Like a rocket the brute shot off the rabbit taking off just as fast. It swerled in a circle around a near by log trying to enter its den making it half way only to have its rear end in the jaws of the ivory male. Gladiator moved to thetree closest by flinging the rabbit against a tree. He had broken its hip leaving the animal without any way to run. It sqwermed as if it had a chance. His white blue crystals flashing there royal blue. He snapped at it picking it up once more only to fling it to the tree again. The rabbit shreeked in pain. Gladiator chuckled as he stood stearing at the helpless life before him. He felt almost god like. And as quick as the game began he ended it. Taking the creatures head in his mouth and with little effort crushed its scull. He flung it to the tree once more then sat down infront of it rapping his tail around the base of his form. "Sad how some things never change..." gladiator was done... his life was being lived for others and not himself. He was finished waiting around like a pup. He was killing that part of him... crushing it like he did this rabbit. He was done... | |

| He watched her, waiting for her response, his brow furrowed. He nodded to her as she agreed, coming to his side. "Good," he said, "This is the best place for you to learn about yourself, and become stronger than your demons. You will not be shunned for it in Jabbar, as you would in other packs, where you would only learn fear and shame for what was born within you." He was glad that she was ready to go back and join with the others once more. Her silvery eyes looked up at him again, no longer afraid to look up at him, and no longer welled up with tears. He let a smirk cross his features, and a singular wave of his tail, as she made her promise. That was good enough for him. She seemed sincere, and he could tell that she did not want to be alone. He didn't know how long she had been here, but he was sure she must have gotten at least a little bit comfortable in Jabbar. And surely she must have forged some bonds, especially with Damean, whom she had also made her promise to. She would need those bonds in order to keep herself sane as she grew and faced the rage within over and over. It would take many repetitions for her to understand it, and Rawbones knew that even he would have difficulty understanding the nature of her problems. Everyone was different.Silence overcame them both as they moved at a steady pace in the direction the hunters had taken down their prey. As the silence overwhelmed, more feelings came forth, and he glanced to Echo. She hung her head again, and Rawbones wondered if she was fretting about what the other wolves would think. No doubt she was frightened by the reaction she might get from the others, espeically Daija and Damean. The one she had attacked, and the one whose opinion she would feel most strongly. If there were any hard feelings left over, he would help mediate for her; he knew this sort of thing was not her fault, and he had been through the madness himself, so he knew the confusion and anxiety she was going through. But, it was something he never let control him or defeat him; he would always remain stronger than his insanity, even though it had made such an impact in the past... Tristan, the wolf who was with them now, was short an eye, and Exodus was alone, without her mate, because of his rage. But it was not someothing he could dwell on, no matter how much it ate away at him sometimes. He had to just let it go, and try to control it. He hoped that Echo's rage was something she could hone, rather than something she was victim to, like he was.It seemed a long trek, but soon enough they were within sight of the rest of the pack as they swarmed around the moose. More had joined the group, including Petra, Blade and Damean. He looked to Echo. She would have to make amends with whomever she might have offended, but he would not let her be on her own if things got too heated. She needed protection, and the pack needed equal protection from her. It would be a balancing act that they would all need to learn to accept, if they were to continue growing. Rawbones said nothing as he approached the group, he merely glanced around, his eyes unexpressive, and then he looked upon Exodus, wondering what she was thinking, knowing she must be shocked. But he hoped that she would be able to decihper what had happened, and be acceptant of it..---------------------------Petra sighed heavily as she watched Daija stand and walk away pridefully, saying she was fine, yet showing clear signs of injury and discomfort. She wished that the wolves around here would simply accept her help so that they could heal faster, without complications. She glanced away from the younger she-wolf, her leaf green orbs falling upon Damean's form as the prince came upon the scene. He looked rather scratched up, himself, and Petra couldn't help but to look him over as he marched about, checking on everyone. Mostly his pelt was just ruffled, and it looked as though he'd been scraped by branches and rocks on his way down the steep hill as he came to see his pack. Disappointed that she wasn't able to help anyone, she made her way over to Blade, who seemed to be observing things quietly, as was his nature to do so. She wondered when Echo and Rawbones would return, or if they would.. She knew the elder could be fairly nasty at times, and he wasn't really predictable. Anxiety ran through her as she wondered if everything was really okay, if they were sorting things out, or if things had turned violent between the two rage-filled wolves. But at last, Rawbones appeared, and in tow was Echo, neither appearing harmed, though the old brute looked like he needed a good rest. Petra relaxed and sat down, wondering what would happen next. | |

| There was a brief moment of fire in his pools, a dance of mild joy at watching Echo attack a packmate, he hid the feeling well in the presence of Damean. It had caused the boy to cease his words and dash down the hill, without a care for the branches that scrapped him along the way. The black hessian remained on the view point, briefly taking note of the only other wolf on the hill. A few paces away, as if Zai himself leaked poison, he had taken notice prior to the little incident, but only now did he find the amusement. Perhaps he was wrong, but he doubted it. Wolves that didn't know him chose to stray from his presence, did they not have the same sickness in mind? Were they not apart of 'dark' pack? Labels again. Ocean hues lifted from the little gathered party to Tristan, a bruja he had only seen but had never spoken to. He let his lanterns linger for longer than what could be considered polite or comfortable for the other, an expressionless face that would turn into a dark smirk the moment he looked away. Did his presence truly bother others, he had done nothing to initiate such a feeling. Well, nothing that they knew about. Zaiaku wasn't one to care for other's opinions, nor could he give a damn for their thoughts. His gaze returned to the scene below at Damean's call, one which he wouldn't answer. The little king's trust was the only thing that would appear important to the joker, after all, he was the one who would say who stays and who goes. Would. Akiko still had a play in the decisions, but he had kept under her radar for long enough thanks to her own distractions. Zai stood as if to answer the invitation, and his gaze turned once more to Tristan, to whom he gave a smirk before slipping away down the opposite side. There were things going on elsewhere that would prove more entertaining then a family squabble, perhaps it was time to visit the barren wasteland he had arrived in. Something was calling for action, he could feel it. | |
