A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Rawbones

He watched her, waiting for her response, his brow furrowed. He nodded to her as she agreed, coming to his side. "Good," he said, "This is the best place for you to learn about yourself, and become stronger than your demons. You will not be shunned for it in Jabbar, as you would in other packs, where you would only learn fear and shame for what was born within you." He was glad that she was ready to go back and join with the others once more. Her silvery eyes looked up at him again, no longer afraid to look up at him, and no longer welled up with tears. He let a smirk cross his features, and a singular wave of his tail, as she made her promise. That was good enough for him. She seemed sincere, and he could tell that she did not want to be alone. He didn't know how long she had been here, but he was sure she must have gotten at least a little bit comfortable in Jabbar. And surely she must have forged some bonds, especially with Damean, whom she had also made her promise to. She would need those bonds in order to keep herself sane as she grew and faced the rage within over and over. It would take many repetitions for her to understand it, and Rawbones knew that even he would have difficulty understanding the nature of her problems. Everyone was different.

Silence overcame them both as they moved at a steady pace in the direction the hunters had taken down their prey. As the silence overwhelmed, more feelings came forth, and he glanced to Echo. She hung her head again, and Rawbones wondered if she was fretting about what the other wolves would think. No doubt she was frightened by the reaction she might get from the others, espeically Daija and Damean. The one she had attacked, and the one whose opinion she would feel most strongly. If there were any hard feelings left over, he would help mediate for her; he knew this sort of thing was not her fault, and he had been through the madness himself, so he knew the confusion and anxiety she was going through. But, it was something he never let control him or defeat him; he would always remain stronger than his insanity, even though it had made such an impact in the past... Tristan, the wolf who was with them now, was short an eye, and Exodus was alone, without her mate, because of his rage. But it was not someothing he could dwell on, no matter how much it ate away at him sometimes. He had to just let it go, and try to control it. He hoped that Echo's rage was something she could hone, rather than something she was victim to, like he was.

It seemed a long trek, but soon enough they were within sight of the rest of the pack as they swarmed around the moose. More had joined the group, including Petra, Blade and Damean. He looked to Echo. She would have to make amends with whomever she might have offended, but he would not let her be on her own if things got too heated. She needed protection, and the pack needed equal protection from her. It would be a balancing act that they would all need to learn to accept, if they were to continue growing. Rawbones said nothing as he approached the group, he merely glanced around, his eyes unexpressive, and then he looked upon Exodus, wondering what she was thinking, knowing she must be shocked. But he hoped that she would be able to decihper what had happened, and be acceptant of it..

---------------------------

Petra sighed heavily as she watched Daija stand and walk away pridefully, saying she was fine, yet showing clear signs of injury and discomfort. She wished that the wolves around here would simply accept her help so that they could heal faster, without complications. She glanced away from the younger she-wolf, her leaf green orbs falling upon Damean's form as the prince came upon the scene. He looked rather scratched up, himself, and Petra couldn't help but to look him over as he marched about, checking on everyone. Mostly his pelt was just ruffled, and it looked as though he'd been scraped by branches and rocks on his way down the steep hill as he came to see his pack. Disappointed that she wasn't able to help anyone, she made her way over to Blade, who seemed to be observing things quietly, as was his nature to do so. She wondered when Echo and Rawbones would return, or if they would.. She knew the elder could be fairly nasty at times, and he wasn't really predictable. Anxiety ran through her as she wondered if everything was really okay, if they were sorting things out, or if things had turned violent between the two rage-filled wolves. But at last, Rawbones appeared, and in tow was Echo, neither appearing harmed, though the old brute looked like he needed a good rest. Petra relaxed and sat down, wondering what would happen next.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeSun Jul 29, 2012 1:17 pm

There was a brief moment of fire in his pools, a dance of mild joy at watching Echo attack a packmate, he hid the feeling well in the presence of Damean. It had caused the boy to cease his words and dash down the hill, without a care for the branches that scrapped him along the way. The black hessian remained on the view point, briefly taking note of the only other wolf on the hill. A few paces away, as if Zai himself leaked poison, he had taken notice prior to the little incident, but only now did he find the amusement. Perhaps he was wrong, but he doubted it. Wolves that didn't know him chose to stray from his presence, did they not have the same sickness in mind? Were they not apart of 'dark' pack? Labels again. Ocean hues lifted from the little gathered party to Tristan, a bruja he had only seen but had never spoken to. He let his lanterns linger for longer than what could be considered polite or comfortable for the other, an expressionless face that would turn into a dark smirk the moment he looked away. Did his presence truly bother others, he had done nothing to initiate such a feeling. Well, nothing that they knew about. Zaiaku wasn't one to care for other's opinions, nor could he give a damn for their thoughts. His gaze returned to the scene below at Damean's call, one which he wouldn't answer. The little king's trust was the only thing that would appear important to the joker, after all, he was the one who would say who stays and who goes. Would. Akiko still had a play in the decisions, but he had kept under her radar for long enough thanks to her own distractions. Zai stood as if to answer the invitation, and his gaze turned once more to Tristan, to whom he gave a smirk before slipping away down the opposite side. There were things going on elsewhere that would prove more entertaining then a family squabble, perhaps it was time to visit the barren wasteland he had arrived in. Something was calling for action, he could feel it.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Bloodeye-1

Bloodeye slunk across the border, her eyes darting to and fro, wondering if she would meet anyone. However, it seemed that the border patrol had passed by a while ago, and the rest were busy deeper in the lands. She knew she would soon feel tired, so she took advantage of the energy coursing through her currently to quickly reach her destination. The day was bright as she was returning to the main denning area, but she saw no one around. Familiar scents lingered, as well as those that she did not recognize at all. So, new wolves had come since she'd last been here? It intrigued her, but most of all, her curiousity drew her to a certain scent, which she automatically seeked out. Then she stopped herself, shaking her head with the slightest of grins. She had to stop thinking about where he was. Shaking herself off, she held her nose to the air, wondering where the pack was. Nobody was in the area, so they were most likely off on a hunt. She caught the drifting scents of wolves, and began to follow it. Her mouth began to water as she also caught the scent of prey blood. She hadn't eaten in some time, and her belly now rumbled with hunger. "Gotta convice them somehow to spare me some meat.." she said aloud to herself, knowing some members of the pack would wonder where she'd been, and why they should share their hard-earned meal with her.

Her pace was slower now, and it took her some time, but at last she could see the swamp where the pack had hunted. Some of the undergrowth looked disturbed, and there were marks torn up in the ground where the hunters would have set off at a high speed after prey. Hunger drove her, and she quickened her pace again, until she came around to where the pack was gathering around a fallen carcass. Some of the members looked disgruntled, particularly Akiko, and a younger female holding up her paw. To Bloodeye, it looked as if there had perhaps been a hunting accident. It did not occur to her that it was an internal problem between the wolves. She glanced around, looking upon a few more faces, before her eyes rested upon Damean. He had grown immensely since she had last seen him as just a small pup. Though it looked like he had a ways to go, she was surprised by his growth. She allowed a flicker of a smile to cross her face, then she turned away, looking over to Akiko near the moose. She would have to wait for the right moment to address her, not while she was agitated, otherwise she would surely be sent elsewhere. So, she seated herself, wrapping her tassel around her base and waiting, watching through narrowed eyes.

[OOC: New guy. Kinda...drawn out?]
The famine had hit his home far worse than in the likes of these lands…Where he resided all his life had fallen victim to dry heat that drove away the salmon and small mammals. The great trees even seemed to wilt; the forest itself deflated. The riverbank that was the wealth of life could not provide what it had in the past. The waters, as with everything else, were dying. Weeks passed…The pack was desperate to move on, and in no time they had resorted to hunting each other. Those intelligent enough to leave before they were considered the next meal did so hastily, and perhaps there was no one in the pack quite like him.

Few would be able to tell he was a hybrid, for he showed all likeness of a great wolf, and only inherited the mind of the dog. As pups, the others could sense he was different, and, having the fear of this unknown, wanted to hurt him. His body held too many hidden scars to count. He felt everyone was against him, but through the trials of struggle, he learned how to stand for himself better than the others. He was dealing more scars than them. In time, he came to dominate the others that were his age. If they left him alone, he would not be tempted to kill them. He rarely spoke, and he didn’t have to in order to keep them away.

Flash forward to now, and he is fully grown, navigating the wild in smooth motion, gliding over the uneven landscape. His iron body was durable enough to ignore fatigue from lack of food. Even as fatigue became overwhelming, his lineage of endurance seemed built to make him run forever. Following near the paths of water to reach these unfamiliar lands, his mind was not on nourishment…it was on the last memories of his old home…his mother, the only one who was ever on his side, the only one that lived to keep him safe…had forgotten him, even if he was her kin…she had tried to kill him, he was a potential threat to her new litter…

He would never go back there again.

The rage of this made him move sporadically faster. Then, it hit him. Just as he was moving at screaming speed, he slowed himself quickly, trotting to a walk as he lifted his nose to the air. He knew nothing of these strange woodlands with ashen ground, yet they bore the scents of wolves. He almost automatically decided to investigate the area, feeling unthreatened. His marbled pelt followed the lead of his black crown as he shook off the last remnants of the old wilderness he had known. His lean chest heaved up and down after the stop of motion, yet his steely orbs darted over the scene in alert. Paw pads touched ever so lightly between the continuing trees, as he became a shadow among the daylight. It wasn’t long before he moved through a distinct opening in the forest, and a wave of new aromas rushed him, some of them very recent. These were packlands alright, and yet nobody around. Gentle breeze weaved between the arbors, making them creak while the scents now told him a new direction to follow. These wolves were near, and there was definitely a kill; he could practically taste the still-warm blood through his nairs. Trekking gingerly as to not disturb the land, he made his way closer to the strangers, the ground becoming increasingly more low and damp, somewhat like muck. Everything on forest floor seemed ragged and torn down; there must have been quite a struggle. Before he knew it, the occupants of these lands were no more than 50 yards ahead of him in the thick of swamp, collected around a moose. He was quite familiar with the hoofed species and the extraordinary power they possessed, but something was preventing them from devouring their prize. Were it any other case, he would have ambushed to take what he could and leave. But he knew he had no right to this meat, and it was highly doubtful he would be allowed portion without luck or conflict. He could not take on all of them…but this was at least a sign of opportunity in these lands, at least better than what he had known. He let his haunch muscles relax slightly, appearing less on edge. He would let them come to him, rather than the other way around, once this business settled.

He briefly wondered how he would address himself once these wolves found him.

His mother had never named him; that was never truly necessary where he was from.

There was but one simple pseudonym he had inherited from his peers: Fang.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeMon Aug 27, 2012 3:52 pm

Akiko watched the pack move about in the aftermath of confusion. Rawbones went after the she wolfess who caused this muck up and everyone else was crowding around to either eat or check up on the situation. Soon enough she saw Damean's young form slinking through the ranks checking on the pack as was fit. Watching his progression towards her when he came to her side she touched his shoulder with her nose in a brief show of affection. Auds flicked at his distressed words. He was confirming everything he was but was unable to assert it. A wry smile pulled up her lips for a moment when he spoke of Gladiator but her eyes flashed some hidden emotion. Pausing before responding she went on in a serious tone. "This is your pack by blood and right Damean but such things don't always decide who is alpha. You must become a wolf that they respect...and fear. As for Gladiator..no you can not dismiss him. He has been living here and fighting for these lands far longer than you were born. Your father trusted him and despite our differences I trust him. He is a valuable ally, especially against his own kind." Here she became more serious. "Sometimes a leader must not listen to his own feelings but heed the safety of the pack as a whole. There will always be conflicting personalities and we are no pack to beat down our wolves to submission." A breath as her cerulean eyes watched the return of Rawbones and Echo. The elders stance strangely defensive or...protective? "But you must never forget, as some have, who we are Damean. No matter who we are allies with or what our actions speak of us, our blood will always tell true." Stepping away from him she turned her head to maintain eye contact. The pack was gathering and she needed to get business over with. "And Damean, I hope you are not too soft or young to understand what I am about to do." With that she strode away.

Her petite ivory form stalked towards Rawbones and Echo. Her tongue darting out to taste the fresh blood on her muzzle. It was like electric fire crackling in her veins. Looking at Rawbones her eyes were hard before they slid off onto the youth beside him. Exodus would be here soon but neither she nor Rawbones would be able to stop her. Nor would they dare. Akiko stepped up to Echo and without preamble lurched forward, paw shooting out connecting with the side of the fem's face. A solid blow knocking her to the side where Akiko stood in a mostly calm demeanor said "Never endanger this pack again understand?" She stood waiting for her response and the dust to settle.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Rawbones

Rawbones had been watching and waiting, knowing there would be members of the pack who needed to have their say on Echo's behaviour. His eyes were scanning the wolves as they mulled about, and he quickly noticed as Akiko made an approach. Her eyes flicked to make contact with his, and he stared back intently, capturing the emotion in her gaze. It was merely a cold and hard look, perhaps backed by hatred. Akiko had always been a cruel femme, and it came through in all of her words, all of her actions. However, what came next surprised him, and anger flashed through his eyes - why hadn't he seen it coming? Her calm and dutiful approach had not revealed her intentions, but he should have known better. Without a moment's hesitation, he thrust himself between Echo and Akiko, nearly chest to chest with the Beta. Silver orbs looked down at her, fixating on her cold blue pools with menacing stare. "There's no need for that, Akiko," he said, his voice steady, although beneath the surface he was seething, "Echo has already realized the depths of her actions, and she has come to make amends." Then the elder let a sly smirk cross his mug. "Besides, what's the matter, Akiko?" he questioned with a little taunt to his tone, "Do you really feel threatened by a whelp's blunders? I didn't know you were so sensitive." He continued to stare at her, face to face, unafraid of any lashings he may receive. What could she do to him that hadn't already been done?

He couldn't help the heated remarks. He felt like he had lied to Echo and been made a fool of, like everything he'd said was made irrelevant by Akiko's harsh reaction. He had told the pup that she would be accepted, and that these things simply happened amongst darker wolves. He had not anticipated such a punishment for a mistake made by a pup - perhaps a good tongue lashing and hard glares from the other wolves, but not this. Maybe he'd been too kind, though, and given her false hopes. Still, he wanted to make his words a reality for Echo, and he was not about to let anyone catch him off-guard again. He stood in front of the whelp, one ear tilted back to listen for her, the other straining toward Akiko. He wanted to know what she had to say next, if it was anything sensible. Rawbones had always stood up for what he thought was right, and he wasn't afraid to face the white witch now.

Her body reacted to the confrontation instantly, teeth clacking a snarl issuing from her throat. Akiko held her ground against the brute looking up with her own raging eyes. So something had happened between these two after all. Her body was humming her hairs on edge. The smell of the kill was getting in her veins and she felt like killing something. But her control was not so lax that she would allow it to be any of her pack members. Keeping her gaze level she let Rawbones have his piece her jaw tightening at every word. It might be found that of the select few wolves in the world that Akiko loved, Rawbones stood a chance of being on the list. But the world was not made of love. It was made of flesh and blood, spoils to the winner who took the jugular. Her face blazed now her anger on open display. Was he such a fool that he could not approve of the action she took or at least understand? "Have you grown soft Rawbones? This child is no threat to me and you know it. She attacked a fellow pack member and you wish me to coddle her with soft murmurs of disapproval?!" She was breathing hard now. "Have you forgotten who we are Rawbones?" She snarled then "Do you wish me to apologize and bow for giving her a mere cuff? That was no mistake in the hunt and other leaders than I would have driven her out or worse, killed her. That I will wager you know too." She took a step back to better look at him her voice dropping in volume. "As always the pack is pressing old friend what would you have me to do?" Her talons dug into the earth and she could smell rain in the air.

Blue eyes looked into his silver ones knowing that it should not come to blows but she would be ready for anything. She wondered what had happened that would drive him to such fierce protectiveness over Echo. At the moment it did not seem like it but Akiko had no hate for the she wolf. Matter of fact she held her in higher regard than most for affection she bore Exodus. Waiting now, always waiting to see what happened next. If Rawbones refuted her words there could only be one path left and she really didn't want to go down it.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeTue Aug 28, 2012 3:40 pm

Akiko's words found themselves swimming in his head. He let them sit there, and then, when all was said and done, he stood there thinking about them watching Akiko not realizing that in that instant she was going to go swat Echo. He moved instantly. New muscle pushed him forward and he was standing over the fallen Echo and looking at Akiko. He didn't hear their words, the ones Rawbones and Akiko spat at one another, but as Akiko stepped back he felt another wolf walk up and Exodus was licking Echo's cheek. He looked down at her, giving her a soft smile then looked back at Akiko, his words were true, for they had just been said by her seconds ago. "There will always be conflicting personalities and we are no pack to beat down our wolves to submission." He stood there silent after that, had she gone back on her own word just now, how would he understand the difference between our own emotions and those of what's best for the pack. "I agree, Echo had done something of lesser quality, but who are you to judge something you do not know" Damean knew... he knew all about Echo and what she saw and didn't tell anyone. Maybe it was time to tell everyone. No. That was Echo's burden she bore, that was something she would need to share in her own time, until then, Damean would be there in any way he could. "Take Echo to get some food... Have her talk to Daija please, but don't let her leave your sight." His blue orbs danced as he turned his head to Exodus who was nudging Echo to get up asking if she were okay.

"Akiko... Rawbones..." He shook his head and sighed. "I feel I need some help in the matters of the pack, and seeing how we have two new wolves, one who's scent lingers here and she's returned, I don't know how to react. If you're hungry, eat, I know there is plenty, but if not. Can you help me" He wanted the argument, the problems done. "Then after everyone is full and well. Pack meeting. Everyone. Whomever doesn't show up, isn't apart of this pack, that goes for everyone" He knew wolves were splitting, dividing, everything, and Echo needed to be brought up, the wolves had to talk their thoughts on all this, let her know, either way, she was welcome in his heart. "Make your choices, but don't kill one another please" he sighed and turned away heading towards Bloodeye's scent. He knew her... from memory.

The dark prince trailed around till his blue eyes landed on her and he came up sniffing the air. "Well... aren't you a sight for sore eyes" he smirked and looked at the pack then back at her. "Socialize please" He said shaking his head. "And don't vanish or I'll kill you." he gave a light laugh and sat down. "If you want to eat, eat, but like I said, do not leave. I'm having a pack meeting in a few breaths, and who ever is not there, wont ever be there again, and since you have a habit of wandering... know this is your final warning..." He stood and looked at her, as if his look could confirm what he said just now. "Hope to see you" He then took his leave and headed over towards the newer of all wolves but before reaching him, he sat down, watching.

Blue eyes just sat there watching. Navigating what, how to approach? He didn't know how nor did he think he cared to at this moment. This job was stupid, this is what he'd need to find a wolf to do. Bring new members to him. His blue eyes went around the rest of the pack, Daija, Blade. Petra. Rawbones. Akiko. Echo. Exodus... everyone was here, who seemed to stay here. His pack was small. He sighed and looked back to the new wolf, waiting for a reaction.

Ooc:|| Okay, so I kinda posted Exodus in that one too... meh.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Rawbones

He could see every muscle in her body tightening, and it only made him grin wider. He loved creating such fury in others, for what reason, he did not know. As he finished speaking, her words came next in a whirlwind of anger, her breathing audible, and snarls lashing from her maw. She was clearly in disbelief. Rawbones took his turn to speak again once she had finished, the smirk had finally fallen from his face, replaced by a neutral expression but with a serious glint in his eyes. "I have never been soft," he stated, continuing to match her raging eyes, "I know full well what happened. I never expected gentle words coming from you. I know you are sharp with words, Akiko, you always have been. Don't apologize for something you don't regret." Now he would let her know what he thought of the attack, something that did not worry him at all. "That femme is new here," he said, a cold look crossing his eyes, "Where does she come from? Who was she born to? If she chooses this place to live and cannot hold her own against a wolf half her age, then what right does she have being protected amongst us? I know how Jabbar Junayd is; we are strong and we are harsh, and there is no room for the weak." The final bit of her angry words crossed through his mind, and he could remember many violent acts that went on in the pack. "You have known me all this time," he began, a slight chuckle passing through his nares, "Even I have scrapped with my packmates, yet here I am today. I could not imagine being exiled for a little bloodlust. Still, I see no need to assert my strength upon a mere whelp." He smirked again, knowing that even she had a record of bloodshed. It was nothing new with this pack.

Rawbones settled down as Akiko took a step back, her voice lowered as she spoke of pack business. Was she asking him to tell her what to do? Taken aback, he glanced away from Akiko, his eyes looking to the wolves around. They all looked on edge, as if they didn't know what was supposed to happen next. The old bru looked back to Akiko. He wasn't going to give her orders, but he had some thoughts. "Let's simply make sure the pack has eaten," he said, his voice low and civil once more. He would have suggested more, but just then Damean came in, and he nodded his head to the young prince. He would be there momentarily for the youngster. He then looked back to Akiko with a nod. He had no ill feelings towards her, he knew she was only doing what she thought was necessary, he simply happened to disagree.

Then for a moment he glanced back at Echo, curious to see if she had anything to say on her own behalf. He didn't need to speak for her all the time, but he couldn't help standing up for her when he did. Exodus had asked him to help raise her, and Echo herself wanted him to teach her... he'd never had whelps of his own, and he'd gone so long without a mate or at least someone to swoon over. Exodus and Echo, they made it feel as if a void were being filled with the responsibility that had been requested of him. It was something he took seriously, like something cherished, and his strong nature came forward when it was threatened. Seeing now that Exodus had come to Echo's side, Rawbones took the opportunity to wander over to the kill, ready to have a bite of it himself. Once he'd had his fill, he licked the blood from his chops and made his way over to where Damean was waiting, passing Akiko on the way, giving a wave of his stiff tail. He settled himself near the young brute, waiting to see what Damean was planning.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Bloodeye-1

Bloodeye watched the actions that occured with interest as the white whelp was swatted by the Beta Femme. So, this must be what was setting everyone on edge. Something had clearly happened, but it was impossible to tell what that was. She cocked a brow as the rugged elder Rawbones placed himself between the pup and the Beta, wondering what was to happen next. Surely the ivory femora would not take lightly to that? But it seemed there was a certain respect was between the two, and both lowered their hackles and let the anger subside. Then Damean came in to say his bit, as he tried to carry out the position that his father had once filled. Her blood-red orbs shifted as the young male headed her way, and she watched him approach, blue eyes fixed on her. Annoyance flickered through her as he spoke with the arrogance of an adolescent, reminding her of her own son long ago. Damean was no longer the cute pup that she had smiled upon moons before. Her hackles prickled along her spine, and she rose to all fours. "Those are strong words for such an inexperienced child," she remarked with a hiss, "I have every intention of settling myself here loyally, you'll see, but I heed you to stay out of the business of a femme in her season."

With a displeased snort and moody glare as he gave his warning, she turned, tail flicking into the air as she headed towards the fallen moose. Though Damean was still young, he would one day learn of the complicated ways of adults, and it was best that he learned it early before he poked his nose into some female's business unknowingly. Especially if that female was someone he cared about. Bloodeye made her way to the prey and dug her fangs in hungrily, ripping off large, filling chunks of flesh. She knew she would be eating for more than just herself now... with a disgruntled sigh, she dug viciously into the meat, eating until she was sure she would burst. Now she was ready to join the ranks at Damean's meeting. Blood stained her muzzle, but it was hard to remove it from her light-hued pelt. She sat down where Damean was, close enough to be able to hear him, but far enough that they had plenty of personal space. As they waited for the others to gather, she groomed her pelt, trying to rid the blood from herself.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeWed Aug 29, 2012 1:51 am

If a human observer had been in the area, which there weren't, part of their notes would include the fact that one of the wolves watched with an interest similar to that of a human curled up on a couch eating popcorn while watching a very good movie. Blade was very aware of the current happenings and thinking, but very distant, as if he wasn't in any way tied with any of the involved packmates or packmate to be. His form never moved, aside from his light breathing and stepping closer to Petra, brushing his body against hers, trying to reassure her without words, else he broke the all-but-fighting atmosphere that was suddenly present.

Most strings seemed to be pulled taut, as many of the pack were quick to bare their fangs. He paid them no mind, and turned his head in the direction of the newcomer as Damean already made his way over. And he wanted to scare off some wolves of purer heart than his... darn. Briefly, he turned to the moose before walking over to rip out a small chunk, carrying it away from the carcass, but remained nearby. He had eaten relatively recently, after all. He had no need to eat at all yet, but would for the sake of helping others function as usual until someone consciously decided they wanted to see an explosion of tempers after all.

This was a disadvantageous time for anyone loyal to the pack to start a fight. His eyes narrowed slightly. Akiko and Rawbones would probably not start a fight at this moment unless their tempers got the better of them. Damean had enough problems right now, few, or none, of which seemed to be resolved. The alpha to be seemed to still need to put things in priority and get his game together. A physical fight now might drive Damean down a path no one would anticipate or desire. For every action is a reaction. If he didn't know that now, the younger wolf would now, and perhaps the pack would get a healthy reminder. As long as Petra was safe... An eye glanced her way, curious to how she was taking in the situation

Fear and shame... Rawbones said that other packs would bring that upon her, and Jabbar would not. But what was that dark cloud in her heart, making her head hang and her chest heavy? She knew what had happened was all her fault, her responsibility. She had to learn control. She walked alongside Rawbones' hock until they came to the scene of the crime, the others gathered around the kill and looking in their direction. Her eyes sought for Damean, but landed on Akiko instead, approaching with the moose blood slathered on her muzzle. Echo's ears fell back and her tail tucked, shutting her eyes and bracing for impact, knowing what was to happen. The blow was fast and hard, knocking her off her front feet, and her insides convulsed and the feelings from before surged through her.

"Let me out."

"No."

Echo clenched her teeth and swallowed hard, forcing the beast within to subside. To lose control now, again... would mean the death of her, by Akiko's fangs. She heard the white witch's words, but could only nod, trembling as Rawbones stepped between them. She was glad for his presence, his silent understanding. But Akiko and Rawbones threw words at each other, hurling vicious things at one another and tossing them back. A fight could break out at any moment, and all because of what she had done. Damean and Exodus came to her as well, Exodus licking her cheek, but Echo's eyes were on Damean. There was a hardness about him that he was developing, and she began to understand why. Almost all of the wolves in Jabbar were hard; those that were soft did not last long, such as why Akiko was berating Rawbones for his actions now. Echo knew she would have to embrace this hardness, too, but the coldness was already present. Her soul was like fire, burning like the pits of Hell, and to keep that contained, she would have to be as cold as ice. She didn't like the idea of it, but it was necessary. She nuzzled her adoptive mother and came to a stand again, stepping alongside Damean, but not past him. She would let him do his job as Alpha.

"Please don't fight," she said, wanting her words to come out strong, but they couldn't have failed her more. It was meek, a plead, but maybe Rawbones would listen. He looked like he didn't want to fight, and she knew that no one wanted to see his demons either. "No one but myself should have to be punished for what's happened today," she said again, this time her voice more detached, like an echo of what emotions she felt inside. "You're friends. Family. What's the point of ripping each other to pieces, only to come together again? That only makes the problem worse. Talk about it, together with the pack or alone. I've made my decision to stay in Jabbar, but if I'm not wanted here because of matters beyond my control at this very moment, I'll leave." Silvery eyes turned to Akiko's blues, doubting that the older fem would listen and probably lash out again, but it was worth a shot. She didn't need blood shed on her namesake.

Exodus nudged her. "I'm not hungry anymore, mother," she murmured, not budging from Damean's side. He left before her, though, speaking about a pack meeting and then going to inspect a newcomer. Echo already missed the days of being young. Knowing that Exodus would worry if she didn't eat, she replied, "I'll be okay. Go ahead." It didn't feel right for her to eat. Akiko was right - she had not only endangered Daija, but she had endangered the entire pack. It only made sense for her to refrain from eating the kill. She would have to find something on her own. She wondered how Daija was doing... for she would have to apologize somehow, some way. The tension between Akiko and Rawbones held her in her place, but then Rawbones sauntered off towards the kill. There was to be no fight, only a disagreement.

Echo now stood across from Akiko again. She didn't know her very well, and could only guess at what was going through her head. She would wait for the fem to either follow Rawbones and beckon her to eat the kill, or snarl at her and tell her to find her own food. Echo was content with either; she didn't want anymore conflict. If Akiko's temper got the better of her, she may have stood a chance; she was growing, and Akiko's small frame was only slightly larger than hers now, but Echo trusted Rawbones' instinct. He wouldn't have left her alone if he knew that Akiko was going to lash out. So she stood, her ears pulled back, her silvery eyes, now filmed with amethyst, watching and waiting...

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeFri Aug 31, 2012 3:20 pm

Fang, having been undisturbed during this pack’s time of quarrel, allowed himself to watch them, observed their dynamic. It was still relatively unclear what the issue was, but he could see it was between young packmates over the moose kill. The one whelp seemed to have caused the problem, seemed to have endangered the pack. He was not to assume just yet, though. Suddenly, the femme who seemed to now be brimming with authority, surging with purpose, struck the white whelp culprit. The bru at the smaller femme’s side quickly responded, emotions rumbling on the verge of spilling into a fight. Teeth were bared, but no flesh was to be torn, as packmates reasoned with them and the anger building was defused. Strangely, Fang found a young male to be taking charge of the situation, his blue orbs meeting those of packmates and bringing a level of submission. He found it somewhat hard to believe that they remained loyal to the young one’s command. The more words flew about, the more names that came to hit his black auds. Akiko. Rawbones. Echo. Damean. He did not care about this information, but it was still necessary, as the one in charge known as Damean had settled his pack and now made his way towards Fang.

Fang had only encountered a few wolves so far in the new lands, and each nameless loner was a worthless, quivering mass of cowardly mush, perhaps no better than white saliva that accumulates at the corner of one’s maw when they are parched with great thirst. These kind of creatures died by his jaws before they knew to feel threatened. But the group he had stumbled upon now was slightly different. At least they were upfront with their actions, and they could be united, congregated even as a pack should be. Though it could be seen that this pack was little different from any other pack, something about their air and demeanor told him they were much different. Actions always spoke more than words for him, even if he couldn’t quite prove it now. It was why he did not like speaking. It was why he did not come onto this pack, ignorant and foolish, but rather let them play amongst themselves, so he could learn what made them tick. Now, in the presence of the sighing young male, he remained still, his cold orbs glaring at the other’s form. They were pale in color, dark in vision. They told nothing of what he thought. He separated his lips, ivories beginning to gleam at the side of his maw and a snarl building at the far back of his throat. He unleashed his lyrics for the first time in ages. “Damean,” he said, having surpressed any remnants of the snarl. “You could call me Fang.”

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeFri Aug 31, 2012 5:35 pm

The femme could see many new wolves come into Jabbar. Two wolves as she could see. Her hazel eyes searched over the wolves as her long legs stood her up. Her ears slightly laid back on her head, making her seemed that she was tired of being so quiet around the pack. She walked to the kill and ate a bit more, knowing that she might not get food for a little while. She could sense some of the other wolves that was around. She didn't like to know that they was annoyed at her, even if they was mad at her. Her stomach wasn't as bad in knots as eariler, but she could feel it tense with each voice that spoke around her. Her ears slightly began to open up a bit, not staying aganist her. She heard the words of a meeting from many of the wolves heading to Damean after they made sure that they was well fed.

Her long legs walked away from the kill that the pack had killed, not including her part. She followed the way that everyone was going and went to the place which Damean had sat, waiting on the others. Kali walked over and nodded her head slightly to Damean, greeting the dark prince. Her words made her mind think. About how Damean might not believe her. What if he didn't? What if he told the others ...the other packs too. She stopped thinking about when someone had sat beside her. Kali got some courage and looked to the wolf that was on her right side. She didn't look into their eyes. "Hello. I'm not sure if you know me or not. But I'm Kali. And if you do, hello again."

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeSun Sep 09, 2012 4:50 pm

A cool breeze touched his nose but he didn't move, nothing moved. The drake he had sat apart from had come over, almost as if a lurking shadow, and then spoke his name. Fang. Interesting. "Nice to meet you Fang, I'd ask what your intentions are for the pack, but I can't seem to care right now" He sighed and turned his black head towards the brute then back towards his pack. "If you're hungry. Eat. This wasn't a pack made kill in my mind, so much drama associated with it and all, so eat if you want. I'm holding my position here until everyone arrives" He smiled towards him then turned back towards the pack again. His maw lifted and he sang out to the lands. His call was for all wolves, finish your business, eating, dwindling in the lands, whatever it may be, then come to attention.

When he finished his eyes landed on Echo. He wanted her next to him. He missed her. His ears pulled back a little, either he didn't like growing up, or what, but he didn't like how distant they had become. "You know... I made a promise... I'm keeping that promise" He said this silently to himself. And then Exodus was next to him, and he looked at her with unspoken questions.

"Oh Damean. You're growing up to fast, you know you can let Rawbones and Akiko take control for a change. You seem to be trying to hard. This meeting. I know you're calling it to attention, but ask for some guidance. No one knew your father better then they had. Even Gladiator would be a good help right now. I know you may not see eye to eye with him, but you don't know him. And I see you have new wolves, you'll need to introduce them too. Don't forget. And don't forget the loyalty wolves too. I love you my little brother. Don't worry so much about things..."
Her words were soft, mother like, and she watched as his gaze fell to Echo again not saying anything in response. She stood and sighed walking over towards Akiko and Echo nudging her daughter. "Damean wants a word with you before the meeting starts" She tried to sound strict, but knew this moment was needed for the two of them. They were the best of friends... but they were growing up on different paths. Heart breaking... but it had to be done. She knew what would happen. Anger. Hate. Rage... life sucked sometimes...

Her body moved after she told Echo over towards Rawbones. He was eating, but she approached him anyways nuzzling him on the neck with much affection. "Thank you... very much..." she sat down looking at him with a smile. "You don't know how much that means to me, to have someone looking over her, specially then..." She turned towards Akiko and the others making it look... casual. "I'm scared Rawbones... for her, for Damean. He needs help, I know it. I don't know what to do except be some kind of shelter during this time of...stress..." She sighed and looked back at Rawbones and smiled wanting to just lay down and nap.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeFri Sep 14, 2012 7:49 am

Of course Damean ran to Echo as she had it out with Rawbones. She listened for the brutes words and her anger had been draining out of her since she stepped back. Listening to him she felt something shift within herself. Despite his words she realized that this pack had changed since the day she first set foot here. Way younger than and twice as angry. She felt her words floating away unheeded and uncomprehending and knew that there was no returning. Her ears flicked listening to him echo her words back and mentally snorted for the child had taken them out of context and could not remove his affection to see to the heart of the matter. And now he presumed to chide her, this coming from a pup who had recently lost himself in a cave exploring recently. But he was the true alpha if not still a child and she would listen to his commands if not his 'wisdom'. Eyes back on Rawbones her face still stern "I saw no bloodlust Rawbones but something else entirely." Here she looked to Echo who had a moment before pleaded with them not to fight and spoke now asking for them to stop and lecturing them on how it would break them. At this Akiko mentally snorted. They were all so young and inexperienced a hysterical laugh bubbled up to her throat and she looked down in order to stifle it. When she looked up once more she was serious and Rawbones had his final words with her and was now content to eat which was probably for the best and now she was left with Echo.

The young she wolf looked at her as if she would lunge forward and rip her throat out. Despite Rawbones many accusations she had no need to lash out at a whelp whom she could easily best. The drama was almost too much for her and after a moment of staring at Echo she closed her eyes took a deep breath in and looked away. "Just eat child and join the meeting. No one will hurt you." With that she turned, saw that Damean spoke harshly to Bloodeye which made her want to pick him up and shake him by his scruff. The she wolf had proved her loyalty when they took Jabbar back and though the she had always been distant and more than a little suspicious she was welcome here. Padding over to the moose Akiko clamped her jaws down and ripped off a chunk with a vicious twist of her head. Chewing and swallowing her morsel she half heartededly licked at her muzzle as she walked over to where Damean was gathering wolves. Exodus passed her to speak with Rawbones on the way by and Akiko saw her look but didn't care. In all these years she had been behind the show or up front running the pack and making sure that it survived. She would not care for the opinions of others.

Next she moved up to Bloodeye where despite Damean's harsh words she had moved to the slowing forming meeting circle. Stopping next to the fem she looked at with a sideways glance a sarcastic upturn on her mouth. "He is young...and much like both his father and mother with none of the experience. Still a pup and in Midnight when you fought with us." Akiko would not forget and would be the first to remind the young king of that fact. Her male companion on the other hand was a little more...on the edges but she wouldn't worry about that brute now. Curious she could smell the fem's season and her elevated emotion...Clearing her throat she gave a brief nod before stepping over to where Damean sat.

No one would hurt her? Echo wasn't sure what to make of that. She could sense Akiko's anger, leaking out of her like water dripping through a crack in the rocks, and that she was much more upset about something Echo couldn't understand. She watched as Akiko went and ate with the rest of the pack. Echo no longer felt like eating, a heavy weight replacing her stomach, but her paws propelled her forward, telling her that if she didn't eat, it would cause more drama than she already had. She placed herself near Exodus and Rawbones, two she felt safest beside, eyes straying over to Daija. She wanted to apologize to the fem, but her gut told her to wait, for she didn't know how well that apology would be received; she had already experienced what it was like to apologize to Akiko. She didn't see Crow or Conall, though, wanting to apologize to them as well, but they were nowhere to be found. She guessed that she had missed them eating, and that they had other business outside the lands to attend; otherwise, they would be at Damean's meeting. Ears flicked to Exodus' words and she nodded, wondering what Damean wanted to talk about... No, she knew what he wanted to talk about. It was the subject on everyone's minds, or perhaps it was just constantly on hers. She wasn't sure.

She ripped off a piece of meat that would satisfy her for now. Her voracious hunger from before seemed tamed by the recent events, and so a small snack was enough. She could burn off her energy and hunt for herself later, or come back to the kill... If there was anything left. Everyone seemed so hungry, especially after the dry summer, keeping most creatures in hiding. They were lucky that they had found in the moose in the swamp. She took the meat over to a dry patch where she could lay down and chew it, but it was gone before she knew it. Her silver-white chest was slathered in blood from the moose and mud from earlier. There were even still flecks of Daija's blood on her muzzle, and the blow from Akiko's claws ached, but did not break skin. She was dirty, she was changing, and even with the demon within her insides felt as if they were shifting. Hopefully, Exodus would have some answers for her.

Knowing that she needed to talk to Damean before the meeting started, she wasted no time, and walked over to him. It was the first time she had seen him up close since... Well, it had been a while, that was for sure. He was now taller than her, bigger, leaner, but still with that puppish gleam in his bright blue eyes. His paws were still much larger than his body, but he was steadier on his feet now, adopting an Alpha's stance, even if he didn't realize it. Something flitted in her chest and she suddenly felt very nervous around him, but why? He was her best friend. One of her only friends. And for that, she pushed the feeling away and cocked an ear towards him. "Exodus said you wanted to talk?" she said, silvery tail twitching behind her. She didn't know what he wanted to talk about, but she could only hope that it was something that wasn't about what had just happened.

((Who is Kali talking to?))

Blade watched the anger slowly dissipate, albeit slower than it had come. From his observation point a short distance from the pack, he noticed things were taking care of themselves before they got too big. The younger wolves seemed calmer, although they weren't standing near each other, so that didn't mean anything.

An ear flicked, hearing Damean summon the pack. Summoning... Was the young heir stepping up to discuss matters that need to be discussed, or something else... He had no reasons to doubt Damean yet, and would not unless there was reason to. He made his way towards where some of the wolves started to gather. The rest were apparently still eating. Settling himself a short distance away from Damean, to give him and Echo some space for their conversation, he sat down and looked around for Petra.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Rawbones

Rawbones continued to scan the area, seated near Damean as the prince spoke with a newcomer. He hardly tilted an ear in the direction of the new wolf, having no concern over him. His attention was still drawn to where Echo was, watchful in case another pack member should direct their anger upon her. But it seemed that things had cooled down considerably, and the wolves were simply mulling about quietly, trying to focus on what was yet to be done, instead of focusing on what had happened. Then a familiar and welcome presence approached him... Exodus. Tension melted from his body entirely as she came to him, nuzzling into his neck. She had no idea how she affected him. He closed his eyes, revelling in the brief moment with a deep breath. When his eyes opened again, she was seated before him, her words of appreciation reaching his auds. "Exodus.." he said, his voice low. He wanted to say more, to thank her for the purpose and meaning she had brought into his life, but he cast aside his needs as she spoke of her fears. He leaned in towards her, placing his firm body by hers - though he was older, perhaps not as fit or as agile as he had been in his youth, he still had much to offer.

"Be strong, Exodus," he said, returning her smile with a soft look of his own, "It is natural for wolves their age to go through some difficulties.." He tried to comfort her, not wanting her to feel like she was helpless, or that she had to support them entirely. Echo and Damean both would have to make it through their adolescence with support from their loved ones, but part of that support would be pushing them beyond what they thought they were capable of. At times, it may even seem as thought things were hopeless. But that was the course of life, and things would be clear someday. "The best thing you can do is set the right example," he said, "Show your strong side to them both, be there when they need it, but do not provide all the answers. Sometimes the only way to surivive and become strong is to find your own answers." He then went quiet. He knew that Damean would have many challenges ahead of him, to live up to his father's name. It would by no means be an easy journey. Not only would he have to prove himself to the packmates that had respected and followed his father, but he would also have to prove his worthiness to the packs surrounding them, otherwise they would all suffer. And Echo.. she had a lot to learn about herself, as well as how she fit in with the rest of th world - much of that depended on where she thought she belonged, and who she truly wanted to fit in with. She needed to discover her true self. Though Rawbones wanted to guide her on a path he thought would be best for her, only she could decide what truly suited herself.

Knowing that was was ahead of them would be difficult, Rawbones moved as close as he could to Exodus, without pushing her over. This experience was new for him, too. He had seen many whelps grow, but none had ever been his to mould - that responsbility had never been his before, and it brought with it a new perspective. He only hoped that his choices now would be the right ones for the future. He sighed a deep breath, not knowing if anything he said was really the right thing. Still, he sat straight and tall, refusing to let any sort of confusion or uncertainty show through.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Bloodeye-1

Bloodeye looked from her grooming as she was approached. She was surprised to see Akiko approaching with no ill intentions. She smirked as the femme offered her a sarcastic grin, speaking about Damean, as though apologizing for the youngster's words. She let forth a small chuckle. She had felt angered listening to Damean speak, but Akiko's words reminded her that the pup had only been around for so long, not nearly long enough to know about certain details. "That is true," she said, never making eye contact with the Beta, out of respect, "He is to be our new King... the replacement of his father. But he is still a whelp afterall..." She was grateful that Akiko had come to share that with her, otherwise she may have stayed in her moody and temperamental state. She felt more relaxed, at least humoured. She glanced at Akiko from the side of her crimson eyes, noticing the femme's nose twitching and a nod of her head. Surely she must have caught on to the scent that surrounded her. The season, and that of a mysterious brute. Bloodeye wondered if Akiko suspected what had happened.

She grinned, looking ahead blankly. Then Akiko left her presence to go over to where Damean was, not far away. She let forth a sigh, and lowered her muzzle, looking to the ground. Her mind did not drift to the male that had created life within her - he had piqued her interested but for a moment in time. Her real interest still lay with the independant, dark, truly mysterious brute who had caught her attention since the day he'd arrived. Zaiaku. Where was he now? Perhaps he had left on business simliar to her own, or he had simply departed for better things. She lifted her cream-coloured muzzle, her blood-red orbs glancing around, hoping to catch sight of a large, familiar form, but it was futile. He was not here. Blinking, she allowed her eyes to drift off again, ears tilted gently forward to catch the sound of important news, but otherwise she was drifting off.

-------------------------

Petra watched with concern as things suddenly became heated between Akiko, Echo and Rawbones. She was surprised by the passion with which the cold, scruffy old wolf defended the whelp, whom he'd had little connection with previously. She tilted her head as she watched, hoping the tension would not break into violence. Things were on the edge for what seemed much too long, until at last it ended, and the two older wolves, Betess and elder, parted ways to cool off. She pressed herself into Blade for comfort, and noticed his eyes turn upon her briefly. She looked to him, her pale green orbs showing their concern, but now that the tension had passed, she felt better. She knew he was watching, his heart distanced from any emotions portrayed - he was so skilled at separating his own emotions from the current situation to assess it with logic only, even though this pack was one he'd been with for so long. She envied his ability, as her heart swelled with every unpleasant interaction between pack members. She wished she had some sort of switch to turn off her emotions, but she was simply not capable. It was in her nature to worry and care for others, and to not wish violence upon anyone. Sighing with relief as things calmed down, she followed Blade as he made his way over to Damean's meeting place, keeping close to the wolf she'd set her heart upon.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeMon Sep 17, 2012 12:57 am

Could things have happened at the perfect moments? She didn't know, but as Rawbones spoke to her about answers and finding the perfect answers to everything with finding herself, she smiled, and felt... slightly older. His body heat pressed against her and she felt a release of tension when he moved closer. A flutter, a little skip in her heart beat? A small little thing that made her feel like a pup again back when Legend would make a fun exciting idea, her father would say something exciting... her father. She looked at Damean as she sat next to Rawbones. "He's never asked about them... to me" she said softly, not knowing if Rawbones would understand what she spoke about. "Yet he has to fill both sets of paws... I'm wondering how this meeting of his will go" She turned her head, looking up at him a little then pushed her nose under his chin and snuggled up to him. She didn't know if it was to much, if she wasn't allowed, she just didn't want to be pushed away. Besides Echo, Rawbones... he took away her 'mate' with a blind rage but had given her so much more in return. She suddenly choked on tears and pulled away. "Sorry..." she said softly, realizing a little that he may have only been kind out of guilt... Oh was she an idiot...

Damean smiled as Echo came up, but her nervous behavior, or was it stand offish, he couldn't tell, but either way it made him pull himself back a little inside. "I wanted to talk yes, I miss you" He stood up and stepped closer to her without saying a word and nuzzled her neck taking a deep breath. "Everything going on, I feel like I haven't seen you in forever." He smiled as he pulled away. "Relax, let's do this meeting. Stay close... please. I don't want anything bad happening, and I think I'm about to open a can of worms Echo... Or open the pack's history and might upset some people... you're my rock, stay close" He smiled and then turned locking eyes with everyone coming close.

"Hello hello... everyone. First... I'd like to thank everyone who had come here, second... I want to notice all the new and old members. There are quite a bit of new scents mixed with the old. It's nice to see that we, as a pack, can draw new faces... I'm learning some dynamics of this whole pack thing. I've been watching, testing, and pushing buttons to see who is who here. I know all of you, but I don't know all of you as a pack. I know all of you as family, though we are all family, all of us" At this his eyes landed on each and everyone of them, Bloodeye and Akiko before Kali , Blade, and Petra. Everyone single one of them."I need you all to help me with something now... What can I do... to better myself for you. A strange question I know, and I still have so much to learn. But honestly. I can take directions, tips and hints from everyone in this pack. But, with learning all this. I know nothing of Damean and Jaded, my parents, and how they ran things around here. I know my father was reasonable, I know this is a dark pack, I know my mother cared more about everyone else then herself, but what was hers was hers, this was her pack, and she would die for it. I know all this, but what I don't know, is all of you... what all of you want. I just watched a hunt with the pack and watched how each and every one of you reacted to everything and every situation. And yes, there was a situation that will be addressed in due time, but right now. I'm looking at a pack, that is either falling apart in front of me, because of me, or will grow stronger because of this simple question. One at a time... what do you all want... from me... as a learning king. If you could have a request, what would it be? I want to be the best I can be... and I still have so much learning to do, but this is a start. So Blade and Petra, would you both say something. Good or bad, this is what this meeting is for... then Bloodeye... Akiko. Rawbones. Daija... Kali, anyone... please... share with me anything on your mind..."

Damean stood there watching all of them, seeing any uncomfortable movement... something he said, did it set anyone off, did anyone roll their eyes...

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeMon Sep 17, 2012 3:48 pm

Well, it was time to see what all the fuss was about. This new king in Jabbar it was time to find out. His white pelt was gleaming in the little sun that made it's way through the trees. He weaved in and out through the darkness and then finally made his way to... oh a pack meeting! He smiled broadly at this chance to hear what his little brother had to say. He walked forward, eyeing the white female that looked like his mother. "Oh Aunty Akiko" he smiled, he wasn't prepared for a warm welcome... he didn't think, and then came the harsh voice that he knew oh so well. "You!" there was a growl following it and then came the turning and the tall tail. He huffed in her direction of depart as she made her way to the other side of the ever growing circle of pack members and he sat down himself looking at Damean.
Woah, he looked like their father, blue eyes, black pelt, lanky build for now but Killian knew it would fill out. Weird. It was like looking at a black pelted version of himself. Only younger. He shook his head and looked at Akiko. "Sounds just as caring as him..." he said softly before looking back. He'd have to explain his story to Akiko, If she'd accept him, if Damean would... just for a short time, he wasn't sure how this would pan out, he was of Damean and Akira's blood, but there was so much that had happened to outcast him from 'his mothers' side of the family...

Before he really even said anything, he nuzzled her, and she returned the gesture. That alone made her more comfortable with herself, with the wolves before her. "Don't worry, Damean," she said, sound enough for him to hear. "I'm not going anywhere." She sat down beside him, giving him the space he needed, but remained close enough for him to look at and whisper to if he needed. It felt right sitting next to him; she wondered if it had been a different wolf, if she would feel the same. But she was here for him. He was the sole reason she had chosen to stay in Jabbar. "No matter what you or anyone says, I will not leave your side," she added, more to herself than to him, but she knew he must have heard it, because he began talking. Asking questions. Making requests. Lavender eyes fell to her paws. The way he spoke, the way he stood, the atmosphere of formality... He was growing. He of course still had a lot to learn, but he was making progress.

A hiss and a growl snapped her out of her thoughts. She saw the young white wolf immediately, sauntering up to Akiko. Despite what had happened between herself and the fem, she hoped that she would give the bru a swat. It seemed as if he knew her, though... They even looked familiar. Yet... He also looked like an older version of Damean. It was confusing. Her gaze lingered on the bru, her brow furrowed, but not glaring at him or saying anything of the sort. She was skeptical, at the most. She would keep a blank face for as long as she needed. Instead, she went back to paying attention to what Damean had to say; her insides twinged at Daija's name, and she found that she still couldn't look the fem in the eyes. She knew she would have to talk to her in a private conversation. Now was Damean's time. It would take time for her to find a place in the pack, but she was certain in her heart that she would remain close to her best friend's side.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeThu Sep 20, 2012 2:09 am

Blade listened to the young Damean's words as he spoke, sounding quite mature for the moment, yet seeking at the same time. This seemed like a vital point of Damean's life as a successful or failed alpha. Whatever they said, he'd be listening.

"The one request I'd ask of you presently is to figure out when you've done enough soul-searching before taking up the full weight of your future. I don't like following a wolf who will always be agreeable to what a pack member says without consulting his own ideals for conflict first. You will ultimately have a final say in things that will gain or lose respect. I have more respect in a wolf who may disagree with me at times than one who always agrees when it's not in his heart or goal. Your job is to take the best course for the pack as a whole while staying true to yourself. How you deal with situations where that may not seem to be the case is the result of knowing yourself and the pack."

This would be his bit. Perhaps it was more advice than a request, but he didn't think of himself as an overly complicated wolf with high needs. As much as the pack might want to mold Damean a particular direction, he'd learn this himself in the end. Saying this now rather than waiting for things to play out may or may not save them from fights or headaches that could have been avoided in the first place. A foundation had to be set, and the alpha normally decides the direction a pack would go towards. He was sure there were wolves out there who would disagree with he just said, but it was Damean's choice whether to accept Blade's words for what they were or to ignore them. An alpha with much different visions than the pack eventually gets knocked out, or finds a new pack.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeSat Sep 29, 2012 11:51 pm

Petra perked her ears up towards the young prince as at last, he spoke what was on his mind. He had a lot to describe, and this conversation was more in-depth than a typical meeting; he was not simply here to give them orders or discuss pack business. He was searching for a way to be the Alpha they needed. She wondered what she would say, as he asked for input from each of the pack members. Damean requested from both she and Blade first, and she turned to Blade as he revealed his thoughts on the matter. She smiled, listening to him. He was realistic in his views, and he got to the point without straying from it or sugar-coating anything. When he was done, Petra nodded in agreement and looked to Damean. "He is right," she said, forcing her voice to project enough for Damean to hear, "You must be able to form your own choices and opinions. And I think having a wide range of knowledge would help you with that. Well.. What I mean is... maybe it would be good experience for you to go about different duties with each one of us, to learn about every pack position in the hierarchy. M-maybe you would feel more confident about.. things.." She closed her maw, glancing around self-consciously. She was not used to speaking up amongst the rest of the pack, and it made her nervous when she looked around to see everyone that was gathered. Though she realized she was now a wolf of seniority amongst the pack, she couldn't shake her shyness. If she could have shuffled any closer to Blade, she would have, but she simply could not.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Bloodeye-1

With a deep, dreamy sigh, Bloodeye looked up from her drifting stare, and tilted her ears towards Damean as he spoke. He sounded so uncertain, and so in need of help, and it made her angry that he had dared question her and act like he could have done something to rid her from this pack. Eyes narrowed and jaws clenched, she listened on. She tried to remember what Akiko had told her, but Damean's sudden attitude of neediness overwhelmed her mind with some sort of fury. Annoyed and straight back into her aggravated state before the Betess had spoken to her, she raised up to all fours and readied herself to say something. She dug her claws into the ground as Blade and Petra had their words. Her tail lashed several times as she waited, becoming more and more impatient. At last, the little hybrid wolf had her last say, and Bloodeye stepped forward. After all, he had asked for their opinions, and she'd heard her name loud and clear. "Damean, perhaps for your experience you should spar with each of us," she said, her voice crackling with obvious agitation, "Individually, of course. It might teach you a thing or two about the strength of those around you. It's not a bad thing to learn where you stand, and see what you have to live up to. After all, what use to us is a King who cannot protect the lives of his pack members, or defend our reputation?"

She watched him with a piercing glare, her eyes no longer softening as they had moons ago. She had her own life and future to protect, she had no pity for youngsters with big dreams. She wanted to know that her pack leader was strong and worthy. She had maintained a pack once in her lifetime, and had put her life on the line to protect them. She would expect the same if she were to bow her head to anyone. "Basically, I request that you make yourself worth it," she stated, and then added, "Yes, a King needs to think, and he needs to care, but he also needs to skills to back that up." Then she stepped back, though her gaze never wavered as she sat back down, tail flicking to wrap around her paws. She couldn't care less what anyone else thought of her words; this was how she thought, and she wasn't going to change that to be seen in a better light in anyone's eyes.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Rawbones

Rawbones blinked, letting loose a deep breath of contentment as Exodus smiled. There was a certain sparkle in her eyes that revealed her innermost thoughts and feelings, and he felt good sitting so close to her. She spoke, and his brow furrowed somewhat, at first wondering what she meant... then it became obvious, and he nodded slowly. Damean had a lot to fulfill, and it would be hard not to compare him to his father and make judgements on the youngsters character based on that of his parents. He resembled the older male so closely... they would always be reminded of the King that they so trusted and loved. He was suddenly taken from his thoughts and whisked back to the present as Exodus nuzzled up under his chin. He suddenly felt the warmth of her small body against him, really felt it, and did not want to be removed from this feeling. So long it had been... since his feelings were returned by another. He closed his eyes, embracing Exodus with his neck draped over hers. He did not care that they were gathered amongst others, and that their actions of affection were out of place. His bliss was cut short as Exodus pulled away abruptly, and he heard the soft sound of her tears being suppressed as she apologized. What was she sorry for? Did she feel she was leading him on? He pulled his head back to look at her better, his brow furrowed with worry. Was she unsure about this? Maybe it wasn't what she really wanted... she was merely drawn in by her feelings of the moment. Maybe he just wasn't good enough..

"Exodus... ?" he tilted his head, confused by her sudden drawing away. Had he been foolish to think that she would really fall for him? That he, the one who had taken her mate in violent bloodshed, would really be appealing to her? Perhaps she was merely thankful that he had tried to help her with Echo. Heh.. who am I kidding? he thought to himself with a painful grin, Young, beautiful femmes do not pursue grouchy old wolves.. Then Damean's voice filled his ears, and he was drawn back into reality, a place he didn't really want to be, but knew he must be present in. Disheartened, he forced himself to look away from Exodus, and shifted himself slightly from her. The young prince requested their help, in order to better himself for the pack. He forced down the feelings welling up inside himself, and focused on what was being asked. He turned, straining his ears to hear the other pack members that spoke. First Blade, then Petra not far behind, agreeing with the first and adding her own bit. Then Bloodeye. As he looked over her, he could see the anger boiling through her, and the hatred that lay within her soul. He did not know her well, and wondered what it was that made her so consumed by that rage, but he did not dwell on it. He could not understand everyone, nor did he have the capacity to care. He didn't know if her words were insulting to Damean, or merely a challenge. Regardless, though she made some valid points, it still sparked defensiveness, and he kept on guard about her. He looked to Damean, letting his voice come forth as he stepped up, moving away from Exodus' warmth.

"Those are all good points made," he said, looking to Blade and Petra, and casting merely a fleeting glance over Bloodeye, "After all, you are young, and there is plenty to learn. I for one... I simply want to see you do your best, whole-heartedly. Put your all into everything you do, learn everything you can and recognize the strengths in your pack mates, and put that knowledge to use. And don't let any of this advice be too small for you... consider every word that we all have to say.. One more thing... don't be too concerned about making mistakes. We were all your age, once, and it happens." He nodded then, giving Damean a little supportive grin, before stepping back with a neutral expression to let it be known that he was done speaking. He was somewhat curious to see what the rest of the wolves had to add. Damean clearly wanted to know what support he had from the pack, and he wanted to be the best he could. It was good that he wanted to know from them how he could be the best for them. But of course, he would eventually have to make his own decisions, opinions and have his own experience to base his choices on. Inevitably. he would make mistakes at some point, and not everyone would always be happy, but it was impossible to please everyone. Hopefully he would come to see that those things were simply a part of life, and the disagreements to come wouldn't actually determine his ability to lead this pack.

After saying his part, his mind quickly fell back to the personal depths, where questions and doubts ran rampant...

Damean listened to all of them that had spoken to him. Rawbones came and reared up the few who had spoken, taking the challenge of Bloodeye down a level in his own mind. He was reeling, but was it the alpha bloodline that sent him against her? He wasn't to sure but he hated her with every fiber of his being. He wanted to challenge her, but didn't, and nodded to each as they spoke with a neutral look on his face. He knew though that Echo, if she felt anything with him, would know how his anger boiled in his veins. He wanted to know more, and he looked at everyone around him waiting for more responses to his question, then looked at Echo, a soft smile pulling at his cheeks just seeing her.

Exodus looked at Rawbones when he looked at her, she wanted to curl up with him and sleep in all honesty, it felt like she hadn't slept in ages. He didn't say anything but her name and even that had given her a slight chill. But he spoke to Damean and she smiled at his kindness to the boy but also his honesty. Damean had so much to learn and he was still so young, but what was it, he wanted to grow up so fast. "Petra has a point" she said standing up and stepping forward her voice coming forward. "As do the others who have given a point. Sparing is good, though I don't think quite yet, you haven't even been apart of a hunt except to spectate one. I think that can wait, but start with the basics. Our father was very well versed in all aspects of the pack, except healing, so you should get to know that as well. And maybe, one on one time with each pack member. Groups like this bring out what needs to be said, not what is wanted to be said from an individual, so take that into consideration. But Damean... don't loose yourself either okay. Remember, you can still have fun while learning all this" She smiled at him, saw his little smile back, a nod, and then that was her dismissal. She turned her attention elsewhere and that was to Rawbones. How come he didn't... no. He didn't like her. Obviously. Or... She smiled at him and sat down her eyes looking at her paws waiting for something, anything. They were dirty, on the black fur she could see the dirt she needed a bath and one quickly before winter came. She looked around waiting for more to speak or more to say words to the young prince...

Cerulean eyes tracked the progress of the pack as the all moved in around young Damean. She did not look at the young alpha but her auds were pushed towards him so she saw the young male come sauntering through before he spoke. The hair along her spine rose even as her mind was surprised at Damean's humble question to the pack. The youth walked up to her speaking in a mock endearing tone and Akiko one more felt bloodlust rise but recognized it as an after effect of her recent disagreement with Rawbones. He was clearly of Akira's get and the striking similarities of the youth not only to herself but to his half brother struck her. For now her only response was to issue him a warning growl. She would not take the attention off of Damean. His entrance did not stop the pack from speaking and while she listened she was too focused on the arrival of her sisters spawn that she did not partake until most had spoken. Eyes finally falling off of the bru they switched to Damean sized him up with a careful calculated gaze. "I have given you much advice already and I'm sure I will give you more whether you like it or not. The pack is everything and you are nothing without them. You must be strong physically and mentally or no one will respect you. You have a lot of heart but you must not let it hinder you. Protect it, hide it away. For truly you when you rise as an alpha you have really given it away and it must be strong and hard because this world will always be stronger and harder." Her mouth pressed into a thin line and again her eyes wandered to the newly entered brute. To be true she didn't even know which one he was. Akira had two sons and she had only seen them once when they were barely out of the den. She would elaborate on her answer later if Damean wished to speak more.

Ooc: Not as eloquent as she could have done but I'm in class so it'll have to do >_<

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeTue Oct 09, 2012 8:07 pm

The pack meeting had started quicker than she had thought. The wolves had gathered around where Damean was. Her mind couldn't pay attension for long as her hazel eyes looked down to the green grass, that swayed slowly. Her brown coat layed flat on her body, but every once in a while, a piece of fur flaked up and blew in the very slight breeze. Kali couldn't help...but think of her past, where she had come from. Her home. Her memories of her home and her father and her leadership.

The first of her memories was when her birth mother and father was running in the forest. She was in her mother's maw, when she was only 5 weeks old, after she had been weaned. Her blue orbs looked down to her paws and legs, blood covered in them to her knees. Kali licked her mouth to the taste of metalic liquid on her tongue. It was wicked and foul to her, as she coughed and spit to get it out. Her parents come to a stop and she was dropped on the ground from her mother's mouth. She yipped when she hit the ground, and saw a dark brown wolf. The voices of her parents and the wolf in front of her rung in her head.

"This is the one that you said could because the leader?"

"Yes. We are her parents, but we have been in a battle, and won't make it long. Will you take her under your wing?"

"...I guess that I could, since she will most likely be a punching bag for our other wolves."

"But..."

Then she heard her parents faint, blood landing in front of her...then she saw black..

Her next memory was a month after her parents had trusted the bru to take care of her. He had taken her under his wing and wanted to train her to be the rightful leader of the allicance. His name was Ra's Al Ghul, which she had learned after a day of being there. But one day, she was put into a ditch that would fit two wolves, with room for them to circle with space. He was going to send wolves down to attack the pup. For countless weeks and months, she was a punching bags to the other assassins and warriors in her pack. The tears that she had shed could had made a river full. The blood that she had lost could had made a ocean of red water. But one day in the ring, when she was 1 year old, she knew that all the wolves was enemies...she killed the next wolf that stepped in the ring with her. She had looked all of her victims in the eyes when she struck. That was why she didn't look at wolves in the eye, scared that they would be a victim.

The last memory was when her home was in a blaze. The fire had killed everyone. Except her, Ra's, and Hugo. Hugo had been her friend since she had come. Ra's had brought Kali to a huge log and was going to set her off into the river, hoping that she would find land. He had yelled to her that she was the new leader of assassins, yet Hugo and Ra's had an argument that she could hear.

"I'm the rightful leader of assassins, Ra's. Not some female that cried until she was a year old because of being beaten!"

"It's MY decision who takes my place! Not some mutt that thinks that he can do what I've seen come out of the young fem that I know can BE the rightful leader!"

Then he growled to Kali, yelling to her that he would get his revenge...he would find her..then Ra's and Hugo was hidden behind the flames...

She had missed what the others had said and that another bru had come about them. Her eyes finally froze off of what she had been looking at for minutes. She had to clear her mind, go out alone for a couple minutes. She stood quietly and looked to Damean, looking at his forehead, so that it looked like she was looking him in the eyes, hoping that she could possibly be excused from being here. She needed to be alone. At least for a little while. To think. About her past, about her leadership that she had been given from Ra's...about Hugo.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 8 Icon_minitimeSun Oct 14, 2012 6:49 pm

Fang had nodded to the young bru, accepting the kind invitation to stay. The pack gathering was upon them quickly, as Damean had taken front and center, while his own form slinked the perimeter. Fang’s movements were inconspicuous; there was no hiding his presence, but there was no need to bring attention to newcomer, who now sought the spoils of their kill. Grateful, though he would never say it, his ivories exposed themselves to the chilled atmosphere around the meeting, silently gripping into still-warm hide and bone. He took the solemn share to a gap between wolves, his light orbs absorbing those now suddenly speaking. Hmm. A democratic weigh-in. This was different. Hell of a lot more orderly than he was accustomed to. The request Damean had made to the pack while Fang briefly acquainted himself with nourishment seemed honest at the least; Fang could not see how the young wolf at this point in time could have a much different level experience than another bru of the same age, other than the ties of blood. He watched intently as the others spoke. The white femme closest to him seemed to permeate with suppressed rage, wanting to spar the boy king herself. He could feel the blood in their veins aching to race each other, for endorphins to spin into a wild hurricane only mastered by those who knew what real fighting was. He was familiar with the feeling; it always crept around in his mind, forever pacing like a starving predator livid for the next opportunity at victory. Aside from that, the others seemed genuinely concerned to some extent, recognizing how the young one should develop if he is to lead them into the abyss that is the future. As for Fang, he held his tongue; he just got here. In due time he would hope to learn the others, to find out the interworkings of this pack and the details he would need to identify in these wolves if he was to survive with them. With that settled in his head, he cautiously allowed his pillars to relax, finally settling among the group as he sat on his white chest.
