.:. Lacrimosa Lake 5417753968_0bfe9a9aa0_z

The forest was a ghost.

Heavy, silver fog crept over the earth, slithering between the knotted trees. It hissed over the dead and fallen leaves, trampled and damp on the ground. The mist had made this shadowy place its home. It was here, between the rotted stumps and grassless floor, that creatures lurked. Creatures of death.
There was movement.

This was no creature of the fog, no, he was not even of this forest. He was wolf. His legs carried him through the foreign land, leaping over fallen trunks and slipping on the wet leaves, skidding as he searched for a way out of the wooden labyrinth. He glanced up at the sky, but the trees blocked his view. He stretched out to his full length, vision blurring as he ran, taking no chances. He had to get out, run away to somewhere sunny, and where there was no more fog. But the fast he ran and the more he tried to escape, the heavier the fog became, almost blinding him. He had to turn around.

The wolf’s feet flew out in front of him and his entire body made a wild arc, but he fell on the rocks, sliding downhill. But his claws came in handy, and the wolf pushed himself up, muscles burning and mind racing. He refused to die – he had a family, a life at his home in the mountains, not in this damn forest.

The wolf yelped and tumbled forward, back foot searing with pain. He somersaulted downhill again and his spine thwacked into a tree. He groaned as the world around him darker than it was before, his consciousness flickering in and out. Gritting his teeth and tasting his own blood in his mouth, he knew he couldn’t stop moving.

Swaying dangerously, he took a step forward, when his back leg buckled beneath him. He snarled and howled in agony, burning with the urge to snap his own leg off to end his suffering. But without it, he knew, he would never be able to get out of the forest. He growled, blinking back tears in his eyes. The wolf tried to stand, but fell again.

Whimpering, his yellow eyes took a quick sweep of the area. For the moment, he was safe. The sweat beneath his fur coated him with a chill and his stomach caved with hunger. Heart pounding in his ears, his adrenaline wearing away, he knew he needed rest. Perhaps with sleep, he would wake up to a different scene, a different time of day where things wouldn’t be so scary. He was exhausted to the point that he could no longer move. Tongue lying out of his mouth, he fought off the urge to sleep, but it was a losing battle.

Curled up like a lost pup, he waited for when the sun would break through the trees and light the way home. Every animal would wake for a new day, and the night’s demons would shy away from the light. Soon, the birds would shake loose from their nests and sing their morning son. The wolf dreamed of scenes such as this, where everything was pretty and okay, and that things would be all right.

Dawn never came. Hazy eyes opened, confused by the darkness. What time was it? How long had he been asleep? The memory of running and then stumbling blurred in his mind. His back leg was throbbing, and his spine was sore, but he knew that with a steady pace and calm face, he could make his way home. Yes, he had been right – all he had needed was rest. A lighter feeling within his chest, the wolf sniffed the icy air to get his bearings. He turned the opposite way he had came, when his nose met the snout of another.

His jaw dropped, his eyes wide, and he stared right into the black, bottomless eyes of the monster that had been stalking him. He couldn’t react fast enough. If one was able to die by fear alone, he would have. But instead he was instantly trapped in the monster’s gaze, his only path leading to his enemy. The wolf could only the ebony silhouette of the beast, shrouded in silvery mist. The thing could in no way be mortal; it was a ghost, a demon from the darkest parts of the earth, the Reaper coming to claim him. He could feel the scythe upon his neck, ready to spill his blood, steal him of his soul…

But the strike did not come from the front. It came from all around him, his body suddenly being shredded, his soul ripped to pieces. The wolf threw up his head to howl, but the vicious claming of jaws around his neck silenced him. His hide was torn away from his skin, his severed tail gushed blood, and shredded pieces of flesh and innards fell with a sickening slop to the ground. The wolf was literally torn apart, bones shattering and limbs yanked out of their sockets and thrown away.

His eyes, losing their yellow tinge and fading to grey, caught only the smallest sight of his attacker… Or was it attackers? Was it only one, or was it ten? He could not tell, their shapes blending together to create one gigantic monster.

The jaws of death came rushing toward him and crushed his skull.

The Royal Mistress Evanescence inhaled the frosty air of her forest - her dark, dark forest, all hers to rule, claim, and lay the law of. It was a land she had grown up in and learned to savor every drop of blood that lie in its earthly soils. Within the shadows, she had heard the Lacrimosa legends and learned the ways of the most elite of wolves. The pack itself that had made these tales and feats was now in ruin, but they were not dead - oh no, far from that. Lacrimosa had a way of reviving itself, a haunting reminder that everything eventually came full cycle once more. The white witch found her perch; a smooth, solid black perch that served as a pride rock over the lake, a lake like glass.

Her crisp blue eyes absorbed the gothic landscape that she called home. She could only imagine bringing this place to its full power, where wolves reached a state of being that they were connected with something... more. A wicked grin curled her black leathers, ivories shining like white diamonds. This was going to be something the ancestors of Lacrimosa had never witnessed before. She would bring about an era like no other. And so, she raised her elegant maw to the heavens, and made a call for all those lost in the Lone Lands...

"Come! I say, to you wolves lost in the wastes, lost in your own minds, you have a place here. Here lie the shadows that tempt you so, and I your Mistress to train. Promises are promises, and your wishes may just come true, for this land is unlike that you have ever seen before. Here is the land of legends. You shall not regret it, that is for sure. So come! If you think yourself strong..."

[OOC: I'd like to get a rogue pack going, so anyone is allowed to approach.]

(Ther we go!)
.:. Lacrimosa Lake Mort

A ghostly form strided trough the mists, pale orbs glancing for prey. Long pillars carried the brute's white form, wich was perfected, only disgraced by a sneer of red on his jaws. A reminder of his former prey. Every kill had to be considered and accounted for. A smile formed on red lips, and Mort threw his head in his neck, only to let out a long howl, a promise of pain and death to any who stood against him. He returned his gaze to the forest in front of him, and inhaled deeply.

The air was full of scents, prey and trees, and a faint of wolf. Intresting. Before he reached the forest, he adjusted his course, and walked next to it, not entering it's borders, just observing. He looked to the left, and then too the right, on both sides, the forest spreaded out i's dark arms. Suddenly, he caught a sound, his auds flickering towards it. It was fascinating, lyrics telling of a land of promise, but what really catched his interest where the last phrases. "So come! If you think yourself strong..."

Challenge accepted. Without further hesitation, Mort slipped into the forest, and dissapeared into the darkness, a wide grin forming on his face.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Vault_11
Vault sat rigid atop an incline that abruptly stopped and created a sort of overhang of earth beneath it. The dark, rocky sediment at the peak of this hill gave him a comfortable camouflage from anything below, not that nocturnal hunting really required concealment. He had been attempting to get a better view of the landscape with higher ground, avoiding the thick mist at floor level. Yet though the depths of the fog did not reach up to where he lay, it created a melting pot of gray smoke that prevented him of seeing the ground below. There were still whiffs of mist shielding his glowing orange orbs, anyway. It was no use, and an angered growl tried to escape his chest, but he kept it to himself. He would never be able to catch any prey during the day, because nothing ever came out of their holes. His only chances were in the deep of night, where he at least had a chance at blind luck (literally). The hairs of Vault’s dark brown pelt quivered in the late gusts of wind, as the gloomy forest seemed to surround him. The land was so dejected, as if it was a bad dream, and he was a pawn in this twisted nightmare.

Vault was not nearly a dark-hearted, power-craving wolf that thought the world was not enough for him. He just wasn’t much a people person. Most wolves disgusted him, believing many of them were focused much more on themselves then their pack, and would let a comrade fall without a second thought. He was a blunt, realistic thinker; he didn’t enjoy wolves trying to persuade others with ideals and promises. He at least wanted to know the actual actions someone was aiming to accomplish. With the right leadership, and a force behind their message, Vault believed he could find the one thing left to please him and settle the score with those who had railed against him: revenge. Opportunity seemed to knock on this frosty night, as a call to action ricocheted from tree to tree and across the forest. The voice spoke of bringing great promise, great power, and a pack rogue with society. It ended, still faintly echoing through the now noiseless environment. Vault blinked hard, as he thought about what had just suddenly occured. It was hard to buy into. It could easily be a trap, but he did not feel intimidated and he did not feel challenged, but more so respected. With a chilled sigh that shown in the air in front of his maw, Vault mumbled, “Screw it.” He jumped down from his overhang, landing with a great thud, and proceeded to stalk silently to where the outcall seemed to come from.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Mort

Mort slipped trough the thick mist aproaching the place where the call had come from. Suddenly, the forest parted, and ahead of him lied a lake, one that looked like it came right out of another world. No time for views. He thought, while he continued his course along the coastline. His pillars brought him over the wet sands, and sometimes they entered the water for a brief moment, sometimes only to assure him there was a real lake, and not a product of his imagination. This was, indeed, a land of great promise, with a vast source of water, which led to a certainity that there was game out there too. He still hadn't catched sight of anything living, but he had seen markins and litter.

Then he saw the wolf that had made out the call. She sat down on an overlooking piece of black rock, and someway he knew she already must have noticed him. He slipped closer, his form synchronious with the thick mist. It was a femme completly in white, and she held her status as apperant master (or should he say mistress) of this domain. He closed in on her, and let his rasping voice spill out cold lyrics.

"You called and here I am, and strong enough of body and mind, I think." He knew he was right, he was strong, and the many scars of his survival proved of it. His stance was slightly submissive, altough it was a little freaked out. His tail almost wagged with excitment, and his tongue started to come out of the side of his mouth. Slooowly. He probably looked like some derranged killer, but sights could be deceiving.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Vault_11
It took a little effort for Vault to relocate the source of the sound. The thick, Blackwood forest landscape only seemed to mimic itself over and over, as every scene looked just as dreary and dark. It seemed as if the vocals had emitted straight from the earth itself. Not to mention the heavy mist, which only seemed to be thickening as Vault felt he was getting closer and closer to where the voice originated. Each step only brought more obstacles, when Vault felt he was running over every possible stone and thorn on the ground below his pads. The fog tried to dim his glowing orbs, as Vault squinted onward. “Mother--…” Just as the situation was at its worst, he caught his words at the unexpected sight of brush giving way to an open clearing with a glistening, silver lake. “…Hmmm…” He paused a moment and looked from side to side, inspecting the area. It appeared to be empty, and yet the only logical place this unknown calling could have came from. Vault began to walk the almost plush sand, his very large figure illuminating the formerly flat shore of the hidden lake. Looking slightly upward, he made his way to the curve in the lake when he finally realize the dull black rock that was a balcony above the shores, nearly long enough to reach the water. Two figures seemed to be on top of this landmark conversing. The scene had turned out to be much less threatening than he had pictured, as he cocked his brow at the sight. Without further ado, Vault quickened his pace and confidently approached the incline of the boulder. Seeing the two up close, he could make out the now clear differences between the characters. Glancing from the crazed looking bru to the white wolf who most likely had been the one calling, Vault spoke in a direct, serious authority. (The muscles in his face were never good at giving way to friendliness, anyway.) “I guess I’m in the right place. My name is Vault…What is this ‘proposal’?”

.:. Lacrimosa Lake 5049282235_6c6c1d1bb3

She lowered her slim muzzle, the last note of her song hanging in the still air. The mists around her hissed; whispers of ancient ghosts. "They're coming, they're coming," the mist said, like a slither in her ear. Evanescence waited upon her obsidian throne that overlooked the Lake, casting her piercing blue eyes to the North, where the first wolf was sure to come.

And sure enough, he came, form white like the mists around him, maw colored red like he had just partaken in a divine kill. His lyrics came forth, raspy and scratching over the coolness of the forest, his face having the hint of someone insane. First impressions were important, or at least, when it came to deciding whether or not to keep wolves in her lands. As long as he could follow orders, sanity or not, it did not matter to her.

"It is good that you have come in good condition," she said, her voice rolling with the dark. "Because I intend to break you down." Well, that probably made for a good welcome. She obviously had no intention of fighting him or attacking him; those words were simply reiterating the message she had sent up earlier. She came down from her perch, since she was no longer singing a song and there was no reason to feel haughty about all of this. Whichever wolf that came here would know how to respect her eventually, and she knew that some would have to learn it the hard way. "But what's that blood on your muzzle? From feast or killing, may I ask?" She was curious. She didn't care about his name or where he had come from, just why he said that he was in prime condition, when not all of his appearance said so. One of her strange little ticks.

Her aud swiveled, catching the soft sound of pads on wet leaves. So, there was another? She could see him out of the corner of her eye; on the other side of the Lake, walking his way around until he arrived on the scene as well. She now turned to him, catching his words.

"You should be confident in the way you speak. No guessing," she said, always the critic. "Anyways. You are both in the lands of Lacrimosa, the lands of my forefathers. The pack itself has been slain, and I the survivor, and so I lay claim to this land and all of its virtues. And if you think 'virtues' are something that wolves of a purer heart follow, think again. When I mean 'virtues', I mean methods of making the strongest wolves in existence. Wolves with warrior bones."

She paused. One or both of them probably thought they were already strong enough, but she wouldn't degrade them with her own prowess just yet. No, that was unnecessary. Cool words and a silver tongue were all that were needed to deliver everything she stood for; elitism, deception, manipulation, power. Evanescence may have appeared to be a cruel mistress at first hand, but sometimes the cruelest of teachers made the strongest characters.

"I am Evanescence, and you may call me as you see fit," she said, tipping her dial at them. Lacrimosa had always been known for its formalities; after all, it was a fantastic way to create a facade, especially when it came to going undercover. Practice made perfect, afterall.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Mort

Feast or killing? Errrr... Mort had to think a little, he really didn't hold track of who his "prey" where, only of the number. If he remembered correctly, it had been that big wolf near the border of Jabbar, two days ago. "A kill." he said, while turning himself to see the newcomer. The wolf was a fair bit larger to him, but that didn't really impressed Mort, as had his previous kill hadn't. His bloodred tongue slithered back in his mouth with a disturbing sound, and he looked a little less maniacal. It was all getting so exciting, and he started to wag his tail. They could call her however they wanted? "Good, Evane...thing is a bit to long for me anyways." He just cut her name short, like he did with his. Mortifactus. Mort. Evanescence. Eva. as Evan sounded a bit... male.

Meanwhile he overthought her words. She would break him. Wasn't he already? He supposed so, that's what everybody said back home. Until everybody had been slain. She said her family was slain too. How sad. He shrugged, and with another weird sound, a seep of saliva slipped back inside. Everybody could tell something was terrible wrong with him. But under that idiotic appearance, a killer slept it's wintersleep, and it felt like he was going to rise again. And this time never sleep.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Vault_11

Vault was already not a fan of this Evanescence. But then again, he usually wasn’t a fan of anybody. Unpursing his cold, black lips, he attempted to reply back, but was at a loss for words when he considered it might just be turned against him again. Exhaling hard, he could notice from the corner of his vision that the other wolf seemed to be calming down a bit already. The lessened tension allowed Vault to think about his choice more, as the moonlight shown upon brightly enough to give the façade of morning light. But in this place, dawn would yield more for the powerful dusk. He could just feel it, deep inside his chest, that this place was wicked beyond what he could understand or fathom…and he liked it.

He listened closely to Evanescence’s talk of great ‘virtues’ that would bring them to shear power above all. He knew his family was still out there, probably trying to forget his existence. Imbeciles. Any wolf ignorant and pure enough to cram their way of life and culture down the throats of everyone they came to contact (and call it “The Right Path”) was bound to be bitter when somebody didn’t accept them. Especially if that somebody was born into their pack. Once we rogues get some force behind us, he thought, I will seize the day when I feel the strength of their pack leave them. Vault wasn’t truly evil by nature, just agitated. But he felt he would fit in pretty well with these wolves in time.

Evon couldn't help but smirk at Mort's reply, her blue eyes gleaming in the silvery mists. Ah, she had thought he was a killer. Good. She needed wolves like him, wolves that had the ability to deliver a fatal blow. His tongue slurped in his mouth and he drooled a little; while it was not the most composed appearance she had ever seen, everybody needed improvement somewhere. And, well, nothing was wrong with scare tactics when it came to an enemy. She wondered what his IQ was, and thought best of testing it later.

She looked to Vault. He hadn't said anything, and she wondered if he would stay. Well, if he didn't then it was certain the woods would get to him. "Come now," she said, chuckling. "It's not going to be all that bad. A few tests, some training, and a final exam. Sounds like formal bullshit, I know. But what you do personally is none of my business. Follow basic the respect codes, that's all I ask." This one seemed less flexible than Mort, but maybe it was because he was just more assertive in his ways and focused on something else, like a family feud.

"Between the three of us, we still have a lot of time on our hands before the others arrive. We'll have a pack of eight, including me. Do as you please in the meantime. Game is plentiful around here, but disappears when the mist does," she said. The mist never fully went away, but some days, the sun somehow managed to pierce through the trees. These were the long days in summer that Evanescence herself cared not for; she was a wolf of colder months. She was about to turn away and leave them unless they wanted a conversation, when she said, "Oh. And if either of you happen to plan on killing one another or whoever you come across, I won't punish you for it. However, I will hold you responsible for fetching a wolf to take their place."

Had this been five years ago with her father running the full pack, then something along the lines of force rape and birth would have occurred. But this was not a pack tied together by blood, but one that would be tied by common ideals and desires. She had learned that no bloodline was pure; there was always a defect somewhere. In her case, it had been Manheim and Lacuna. Hell, throw in a little bit of Temptation as well; she always a bit lighter than the rest. This was why Evanescence herself had never been particularly interested in starting a family of her own - they always ended badly, somewhere down the line.

She stood there, waiting for any further questions or comments they had. She was curious about their personalities, how they could be molded into fine warriors. It was easier to do so from birth, as she had done with Chimera, but that was too time consuming. Evon also wondered who else would arrive, and how different they would be and how alike they would become...

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Mort

Mort was gazing at a little tree when her last lyrics hitted his auds. If that where thrules, fine. She dind't said anything about killing wolves that didn't where from the pack. Altough he realized he would have too wait until the pack was filled, he was fine with the circumstances. Some of his underlying cunning slipped above, remnants of the beast that was awakening in the deep. "So, this is the meeting place for our 'training'?"
He yawned. He wasn't really hungry neither thirsty, but was in for a good nap. "Then, if you don't need me for now, ill be of making a den." For once, his voice wasn't rasping As he was going to be here for uite a while, he thought, why not make a den? He quite liked this place. Where some wolves would feel depressed by the lack and white landscape, he felt cheered up by it, it reminded him of home, only less dead... Anyway, he was just waiting for her aproval to go, when another question flew in. "Erm, what does that training really hold?" the rasping was back, and the sharpness dissapeared. Mort stopped wagging his tail however, the great moment of excitement was over, he wasn't getting to kill someone. Bummer.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Vault_11

Vault noticed Evon kept looking at him. In a way, it made feel transparent; that her cold, icy eyes saw right through his entire being. She even gave him what he would consider “encouragement”. Vault was a bit puzzled. Did he seem weak-willed? Evon laid out ground rules, most significantly “no killing each other without bringing in a replacement”. Vault figured Mort was as lazy as he was sadistic, so he had no need to worry; but Vault did not see Evon to be the kind of leader to establish full-proof rules. With every minute, his perception of this new leader changed, and he had trouble labeling what exactly she was.

Vault could see that Mort at least had bits and pieces of an IQ, and supported his idea of making a den. He even involuntarily began to wag his tail. He was surprisingly eager to find a nice place to lay rest, sitting upon cool sand that formed to his figure, rather than soil that infested into his ears and fur and dirtied him even more than he already was. Still stuck wagging his tail, he looked slightly above their heads at the nearby landscape, scoping out possible locations. He probably looked like an idiot, but he didn’t care. The circumstances were calm, and it wasn’t as though curiosity could hamper that, as he still listened to their conversation. Taking opportunity to question Evon, still looking upward with glowing pools he said, “How long do you suppose it will take to wait for others? I mean, will we need to search for them ourselves eventually?” He paused, despite many other wonderments trapped in his skull.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Sanguinius-1

A dark figure made his first steps into the dark forest. He was eager to enter it, but didn't knew for sure if it was safe to do. Not that he cared for his own safety. So, without much further hesitation, he walked into the thick mist, that seemed to embrace him. When he entered the deeper part of the dark forest, he halted. He picked up the familiar tang of wolves: atleast one male and... a femme? Interesting, last time he has seen an femme had been atleast a good year ago. He keeped walking forwards into the deep and increasingly misty part of the forest, and he had the feeling that he was gaining altitude, and before he knew it, he stood on a hill. He could see a lake spreading out in the distance, it surface unmoving. "Pfff... More walking... fun..." he said, his voice thick with sarcasm, it almost papreared like the humor of a dead bird. Then he descended into the woods below, intent on reaching that lake.

Evanescence nodded to Mort's question. "Yes, this will be the place. Come when I call, and you will receive instructions. Miss the meeting, and you can forget about being considered. You will have to find out the information on your own time," she replied in a tight voice. Yes, the wolves were allowed to be lax until the time came, which she happened to be very punctual about. She wouldn't have anyone misinterpreting orders when it came down to it; things in packs got messy that way. Blue eyes flickered to Vault. "They will come. The forest itself drew you in here, did it not?" she asked with a wry smile, inhaling the mists as she did so. They carried the scent of another, another bru. "Speaking of which, one more approaches just beyond the lake. Greet him, if you like, or kill him. I don't really care. You will learn that it is survival of the fittest here. But by the end of the season, we must have a strong pack of eight, or else this will all be a waste of time."

The tip of her tassle twitched; an autonomic response to feelings of anticipation, but her eyes remained cold and her face steely. She returned to Mort's questions of what the actual training would hold, and she couldn't help but smile at that. "Oh, you'll see. Training will officially start when all wolves have arrived. In the meantime, eat and sleep well," she replied. Most probably would have guessed that she would have been a cruel Queen, one that forbid resting and hunting, but she was not stupid. She would refuse to have her wolves broken down in that form; no, she would break them in other ways... Lacrimosa would break them in other ways. The forest had a cunning sense of humor that she very much enjoyed.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Nikolaosnew

Ebony pillars carried his weight with ease as he padded into the forest. He slowed slightly, even though he knew his sister was able to keep with him with ease. His crystal hued optics looked over the small forest they were in. He was looking for where that call had come from. His mind wandered onto what his sister had asked him, why were they here? He wished still he had an answer, but honestly the brute had no idea and he was hoping soon enough the question would be answered for not only his sister but for himself. He spotted a small group and padded forward carefully.

He listened intently as the mistress spoke, he parted his maw to speak. Lyrics were harshly toned but he meant nothing specific by the tones ".. My sister and I wish to join you in whatever you are planning..." He ended the statement with his twisted grin on his maw. He was hoping that she would accept them, if not he would leave and take his sister with him.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Solara1

Her snow kissed pillars carried her with such ease through the forest, allowing her to keep up with her brother with no problem at all. She remained at his flank as he slowed down a little, but she was curious as to why they were slowing down...Then she spotted why. She too moved forward with Nikolaos, a little irritated because he had spoken for her too, she looked to him with a look in her crimson optics saying 'just wait till we are alone'...She sank back onto her alabaster hindquarters, deciding that she again was going to be lazy. She had been running and running for days on end, searching for him and already she was getting fed up with his usual bs. He always had to be the center of everything, he had to be the one to speak for them both...She silenced the will to growl at the thoughts that circled her mind.

She rose up after only a moment, deciding she would speak up. She did not care about what her brother would think about her doing such a thing, her lyrics were soft and flowy "..Yes we wish to join you in whatever you are planning..." She ended the statement cursing at herself. The dame that had birthed her brother and herself had to curse her with such a sweet voice. Alot of times though, it worked out in her advantage because a lot of the time no one ever saw anything coming... She watched the dame, waiting for her response...

[ooc|| So I decided to pull them away from their .. meeting I guess we could call it haha xD but yeah, still getting a feel for them and Nik comes better than Solara sometimes *bangs head on desk* I need to figure them both out asap lol. So ... yeah]

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Mort

Mort was excited, more newcomers! Three if he was right. Anyways, with a puppy smile on his face, he set of in the woods, determined to find a nice place to dig a den. He faded into the forest, his white body mixing with the thick mist.
He was curious about how Eva would break them. He wans't scared. You couldn't break something that had been broken already a hundred times or so. You could mend it, however. He was searching for a stabile underground, that wasn't too hard too dig in, but also wouldn't crumble while digging. After a while, he found the perfect perch of soil, clamped between two rocks. The thought that someone would have to pass here really didn't sprang up in his mind. His paws worked on the dirt, and soon he was digging himself a way into the ground. After a while nothing could be seen of his hole, covered up by the mist.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Vault_11

Vault nodded coldly to Evon’s explanation. He enjoyed the flexibility that would be ensued, and even the free-for-all kind of stance. He began to envision a happy little chaos between everybody. He wasn’t going to bother to kill the oncoming bru; they would all be “broken down” so to speak, and he was faithful that Evon’s methods could do the job of disposing the weak. No sooner had she spoke of training when new wolves abruptly filed in and tried to speak to her. His ears twitched at their voices. To him, the ebony and ivory pair just didn’t look the part of being successful trainees. They seemed…soft. Vault was not going to bother and greet them right now. They would all meet together soon enough. Flicking his tail, he backed up and jumped down, following close behind Mort. Still pondering what the final exam could hold, he broke off from Mort’s path eastward and closer to the beach. Within the near forest, there was still at some patchy spots an ugly, awkward mesh of sand and soil. It looked pretty compressible, however. Good enough for him. There were even some large slab rocks nearby that he began to move with his body and push closer together. He formed a sort of wall between two trees; a one-sided barrier from the hidden forest lurkers. Digging a deep, wide pit, he became satisfied with his building blocks of a den. Knowing his hunger was unfulfilled, he sat in his pit, devising where to go to find prey.

He had been walking for sometime now, and he felt he got closer to whoever the others were.
Very close, he only had to pass trough a narrow entrence between two rocks it was only . he halted for a moment, thinking about wat he had done in his life for now... If it was not killing and fighting for honor. Then he hadn't done anything else, it was all he knew. Would the rest accept him for who he was? He wcould only knew if he tried. he walked further to the rock when he stoped again. He thought. "This is it, if you walk any further, you can't turn back."
Without waiting he runned forwarts his first challenge. He dashed forwards, and the next moment the ground under his feets was gone and he fell, face first into a hole, his head hitting the rear of another wolf.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Mort

Mort was happily digging his way down into the underground. Suddenly, some mumbling hitted his auds, but he gave it no notice. He was too much foccused on digging his way down. It was an unusual way to make a den, but he prefered it over other ways. Footsteps, followed with the sound of stumbling wolf folowing, and loose dirt came his way. And before Mort knew it, another male dashed against his hind legs, pushing hem in turn down against the wall in front of him. When Mort thought it couldn't become worse, the ground under him cracked, and collapsed, his white body following the cascading sand down into the hole. He fell in total darkness, but not deep, and on hitting the ground, he rolled way instinctively, trying to avoid debris and probably the other wolf falling down.

His eyes started to adapt at the darkness, and his auds picked up the sound of dripping water, that echoed. He realized where he was. An underground cave, formed by erosion of water from the lake. Wonderfull, it makes for a perfect hiding place, I wonder if Eva knows of this. He thought. If she didn't, he would keep it secret. He could use this... But first he had to make sure that other wolf would hold his mouth shut. Preferably permanently. "Hellooooo, other guy, where are youuuu? Did you fall down as well?" He called out to the shadows. He was sure it wasn't Vault, he had seen him going to make his own den. So that only left that bru that had been coming, so Mort could kill him. What Eva didn't knew, couldn't hurt her....

Mort and Vault walked away, and two more approached. My, she was mighty popular... It was a wonder the packs hadn't picked all of these wolves up yet, they were so eager to join. Her eyes met the brother and sister, one black and the other white. She snorted. "You don't even know what I'm planning and you want in?" she sneered, arching a high brow, her lip curling. But this faded away into sinister laughter, the kind that was cold and airy, like the freezing winter wind. "Very well, all very well. This will be the place of our meeting. Come when I call. You will be tested. If you pass, you stay; if not, you're dead, or close to it. I am Evanescence, or "Evon", and these are my lands. Understand that, and the forest will be kind to you. In the meantime, do as you like, I don't care what. You will find others before you have already arrived."

She paused, having re-hashed most of what she had said to Mort and Vault earlier. Her blue eyes glinted towards the crimson orbs of the only femme - she looked much like her dear sister, Epica. Oh, she hoped her sister would pay a visit, with her handsome bru of a husband and whatever whelps they bore. Diamond auds twitched and she felt the ground beneath her pads her vibrate very softly, like a heavy rock had fallen on the ground not far away. She had to suppress a grin - someone had found the cave beneath the Lake. How she remembered discovering the old place as a child, finding piles upon piles of skeletons, all of them wolven-kind. While it had been terrifying for Temptation and Manheim, it had been fascinating for her.

"What are your names?" she asked quickly, before they took off. The others had gladly offered theirs. "And don't bother with ranks. We have our own organization here. I am your leader. I have an associate, Chimera, who is off in the lands of Fire and Ice on a recruitment mission. When she returns, respect her as well. She is fiercer than a disturbed gytrash." She ended her statement with a smirk. She knew what she looked like, but how else to assert her dominance? Her head was up, her tail was raised, and her tone was strict. She would make the order here. They could think her haughty or take her down, but they would be brutally mistaken.

firs he tought that he was dead but when he heard the other wolf calling him, he knew that he wasn't dead. "Hey! My name is not other guy." He stoped and crawled out of the dirt, he spoke further "Im Sanguinius and who are you?" he continued "Ow and why were you diging a hole?" Why is a good question... But not always Sanguinius calmed down and found himself staring into two milk-white obs, missing pupils. It was a weird scene but it was not scar. Not even a bit. He waited on his reply.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Mort

If Sanguinius could see Mort he would see a wicked smile forming on his face. "Well, Snagy, I suppose you could keep this a secret?" The sharp tone cme up once more, the rasping fading. "I hope you do, I would hate to kill you." He said, sarcasm thick in his voice. He turned, trusting in his capabilities for when the wolf would decide to attack him. He was gazing at the cave, which was pretty big. And nicely decorated too, the entire place was strewn around with bones, all wolf. Someway he found it as exciting like a hunt. His paws turned a sull over, and he looked at his facial features. His white orbs scanned for an exit, but he figured he could just leave from his way in. It would require a small jump, but nothing too hard for him to accomplish. He looked at the larger bru. It would be fair bit harder for him. Maybe Mort wouldn't have too kil him, he could just leave him there, and see him die of starvation, on more skeleton to add to the piles here.

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Niksolsig

~~Nikolaos~~

Ebony auds twitched as he felt the crash of something nearby, but his main focused remained on the fatale that was still speaking to them. He nodded his charcoal auds as she said that they would be tested and that he understood that if they failed they might die. He grinned, if only she knew the training he and his sister had when they were with their father. They were very skilled, and soon they would be able to show that off. Nikolaos watched intently and when Evon asked for their names he spoke first, lyrics different than before "I am Nikolaos..." He trailed off, knowing that was all the femme wanted. He then watched as she turned her attention to his sister...He wondered what his sister would all say...

~~Solara~~

Solara's snow kissed auds took in her brothers lyrics, and grinned. For once he was going to actually let her speak. She watched as Evon took in her form, it was almost like Evon was looking at her like she looked like someone she knew. She moved forward just a little, she was now standing shoulder to shoulder with her brother, her crimson optics lit up at the thought of being able to prove they belonged here. She still did not understand why her brother had wanted her here, but she soon pushed the thought out of her mind. She finally spoke, lyrics still a little soft "..And I am Solara..." She left it at that. She did not feel the need to over-explain things. This fatale that was now their queen looked like the type that only wanted specific information at one time, and that was something Solara was good at doing...

[this post was done by me and hendaron, to make the conversation more fluid]

"Snagy! Who is Snagy! Show yourself!" Mort raised an eyebrow. "You are Snagy of course!" Sanguinius blinked his eyes. Huh? "What? My name is Sanguinius, not Snagy..." "Yes, Sanguinius cut short and hauled over. Snagy, it's short and funny like Mort." Mort's voice became rasping, and his tongue started to wander out again. It hung from the side of his mouth. "So your name is Mort ,hé? Is that your full name?" "What do you mean with full name?" Mort started to wag his tail again, and together with the blood and mud on his coat, and the outhanging tongue, he looked like some derranged killer. "Your confusing me." " You know, like you call me Snagy while my full name is Sanguinius." Sanguinius was geting scared of Mort's behaviour and wild look. "Ow, my name's Mort, but I told that already didn't I?" " You got to be kidding me... right?" "Nope!" a puppy smile started to grow wide on Mort's face, making him look even more retarded. " Right... uhh...who is the femme in this forest I smelled before?" "Oooooh, you must mean Eva, she's boss around here." Mort looked up to the ceilling with the opening in it. Snagy was sitting right below it. "Stand still." "What..." Mort dashed forwards, and launched himself up to the ceilng, using Sanguinius' head as a stepping stone. Mort reached the hile, and crawled up it. Then he turned and looked back down. "Clear that space!" Sanguinius jumped aside quickly, wondering what Mort was up to...
"Mort in the hole!" And CABRASH, a pile of sand and rock came crahing down, with Mort on top, creating a natural stairway out of the den, into Mort's hole. Mort stood atop the pile of rubble, a wide smile on his lips. "I had to improve the way in anyway." Sanguinius also smiled, and crawled up on the pile. On passing Mort he spoke out, while padding his head with his paw. "Good boy,now lets cover this entrance, you don't want anyone to find this don't you?" "Certainly not!" And with wide grins, the newfound friends slipped back to the surface.

[it could be that me and Peperoni (^^) would do this more times]

.:. Lacrimosa Lake Vault_11

Just as Vault began to stand up from his pit, a crash rippled through the forest, disrupting normal noises of the nature. The ground even rumbled, followed by what seemed to be splashing liquid. A loud commotion and quarreling broke out. The hunting could wait. This sounded like it was worth investigating. Vault did not want to be too willing, however, why with it most likely being Mort who was the catalyst to all the noise. Vault did not want to falter into something that could get him on a killer’s bad side. In a bit of a prowl, Vault approached silently to where he believed the sound had come from. Finally within feet of the commotion’s origin, he brushed through a couple trees and two rocks, stumbling upon Mort’s den. He faced two wide grinning wolves, one of which was Mort, the other being a black bru. He was most likely the one Evon had sensed back at the meeting place. They were standing at the edge of what looked like a deep hole from his perspective. The two wolves were not looking in his direction when he came through the trees, but he felt he was most likely unwanted. Looking from the wolves to the hole in the ground, he at last whistled in attempt to gain their attention. “What’s going on…and who the heck is your friend, Mort?” Hopefully, this situation was nothing serious. If bad came to worse, 2 versus 1 was not good odds. Vault kept confident, flicking the dirt behind him with his tail.
