| The Rottweiler and German Shepherd mix looked up as the larger dog approached. The same one who'd appeared last time she was here. A scout, then? But he was much more friendly this time around now that she was alone. "Yes, I'm here to stay. My cousin and I didn't part on the best of terms when he learned I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with wolves." She gave Kane a somewhat shy smile. Having traveled through various wolf packs and Muerta has cut her off from most contact with other dogs.
Although the actions were familiar, they had started to feel foreign. She probably looked pretty bad from her time in the desert like lone lands, too and probably resembled the leaner forms of those who didn't have a land to claim. The sand was at least only somewhat noticeable on her milk chocolate fur. Since she'd parted from Stark, she had to fend for herself, which would have been much easier in a more forested region. There was almost nothing in the desert, and what little there may be were quick, so it wasn't easy for her to catch something alone. She wasn't sure how up to par she was compared to the rest. Stark had taught her well, but she hadn't time to learn too much about solo survival, both having assumed they'd remain together so most of the lessons could be delayed apart from basic survival. Although her cousin pushed her hard, almost over the edge sometimes, he still showed concern in his odd ways, and had been aware things happened and so taught her enough to temporarily get by until he came to find her. There was no finding her this time. Perhaps one day their paths may cross, but it wouldn't be because Stark was concerned. It was more likely to end up in a fight, or even in the midst of war.
She didn't want to think of it, and so forced her attention back to Kane, hoping she'd been good enough to join. She'd heard life on the streets was hard enough, so what about here? Stark was the type who would have been capable of leading a group, so if she had half of his skill, she should be fine... right? Where else would she go? There were nicer wolves in packs, but she would stand out too much, and she couldn't live like that.

| A call went up into the air and while he knew Jack was trying to gather everyone for the meeting there still needed someone to tend to the border folks. Catching his alpha's eye he nodded his crania and set off at a brisk trot into the woods. His tawny coat disappearing in against the browns of the forest. It did not take long for his powerful legs to carry him to where the call was. Standing there he saw a face that he had seen before. It was one of the dogs that was with the wolves that had come searching before. He paused and tilted his head genuinely curious. "Are you here to forsake your allegiance with the wolves and join your brothers and sisters or it is another reason you seek? As I said before all dogs are welcome here, I would not drive you out this time so you should have no fear of me." He had to play the scoundrel last time, putting on his best face of intimidation in front of the wolves. He wondered if she would be joining them, she was a cute young fem, slightly on the thin side but a few weeks amongst a true family would solve that. In this world is was almost certainly survival of the fittest but that's why packs took care of their own. Everyone was only as strong as their weakest member. He stood ears cocked forward eagerly awaiting her answer | |

| The drums of war were nowhere to be heard, yet Anubis’s auds were keen and prepared for them, anticipating the bloodshed to come on the horizon. He could only hope that it would not be like the Long Wars of the old homelands: outlasting the wolves would be ideal, but tying off the loose ends of this native threat in a final fight would be better. Kane sounded confident in the group’s potential; Anubis was confident in himself (he was always confident in himself), but he was yet to be convinced this pack could be worthy to stay at this point in time. Battle to the death should be enough, but what if it wasn’t? Anubis trudged downhill out of the thicker woodlands, weaving between trees towards the downward stream, his joints bouncing with the resistance of the decline. The wind streamlining over his small body began to pick up, and as he finished suddenly with a splash in the river shallows, his body was fully recovered from the previous spar. He trotted modestly to Jack’s position, who stood waiting to assemble the others. The air of another new dog floated to him, and with the scent he gave a mumbling growl. Ears twitched as he came to a stop and nodded to Jack, disregarding the sound of new company. He wasn’t completely sure what Jack was planning, but, then again, he really didn’t care of the specifics: he was up to anything if it sounded like it could work and if he could get some action. | |

| She came near the border, having traveled far until she came back to these lands. Why had Stark done that? She was willing to go with him to the midst of wolves, and now, she wound back here. Would they take her in? After she defended wolves in her and Stark's company? The one large wolf, Kane would remember her, she knew. Dogs didn't forget like some wolves tended to do. Now her cousin was back at Muerta, and she was left behind. She was more adjusted to the wilderness, but was still used to the city. Perhaps they'd understand here...
She lifted her head and called for the alpha, scout, or other authority for permission to enter, and that she was alone. Dust stuck to her pelt from the lone lands, having been caught near a sandstorm, a testament to how much trouble she had getting here.

| Kane's tawny eyes flicked to the smaller dog who seemed to walking off his recent spar. He could smell the heat and sweat of the altercation. He believed his name was Anubis and when he spoke he gave a short nod. Looking at him now as he spoke of conflict he snorted sarcastically. "Life is conflict. We will be ready, more ready than the wolves will know. Jack will lead us through." He rolled his shoulders, he felt a yawn coming to him but his ears flicked hearing a few short barks that was clearly Jack's. "Seems it's coming sooner than we thought. Come on best get there." Blue was nearby and he met her gaze, he touched her shoulder with his nose before passing her and continuing on to Jack's location. | |

| Jacob had gone walking, thinking, tracking the scents that had come in and out of the land. His old annoying little friend. To have him here now, what a joy that would be. Wonder if the little brat had gone and joined a wolf pack just for shits and giggles in Jack's face. That wouldn't sit well in anyone's eyes he didn't think. "Steal a pup..." he growled and stopped in the water splashing his paws in it, washing away the thought. "That makes us just as bad as they are... thieves of lives, stealing a pup, what in the humans name are they thinking!" He let his auds catch the sound of summoning barks and he slowly began his way back following Jack's scent to the log damn. He walked up to Jack, nodding his head in respect and then sat down, his eyes on his paws, thinking, ever more so about his future in this clan, what he stood for, and what he stood against, was becoming a blurred line...

| The German Shepherd made his way up the cliffside, where the water fell over the edge above the Log Jam Headquarters and gave him a bird's-eye-view of the lands. It was no cooler up here than down below, but he needed time to think, evaluate. He watched as the dogs dispersed from their spars and head in their own directions. His dark eyes lingered on Jacob, the other Shepherd that had said he was going for a walk along the border. Though it had not looked like it, he had studied the fight between him and Tauro, and he knew Jacob would have won not for his size or his speed, but his tricks. The mind was the most powerful tool of the body. Jack knew this all too well. On one paw, things looked to be falling into place for the gang; on the other, they still were not uniform enough, tending to their own desires rather than a communal one. But he knew he could not change this. Every one of them was a loner, but needed a family to survive. A troublesome existence.
Where would they start? He knew that nothing could be done without Blue's input. She was the one that had suggested a kidnapping, afterall. It only made sense that she would have a certain charge in the pack. At the same time, he pondered what had influenced her to challenge his authority... To change his mind about ridding the gang of one member with his own teeth and claws. He knew that she wouldn't have suggested such a thing back in the City. Then again, she was his advisor, his secretkeeper, his best friend. There should be no reason to doubt her. She let him take control of the pack, and that was what counted.
He knew that they could not infiltrate a pack right away and expect things go smoothly. No, that was not the way that things were done. They first would need a reconnaissance team to scope out the pack and pick out the children. Then, they would need a distraction. Thirdly, someone would have to rush in, take the whelp, and then the whole team would need to make a run for it. At the same time, they could not send the whole pack in, for they still had their lands to guard. Who was on this team would need to be of like-mind and swift, so very swift. With his mind made up, Jack tread back down the hill and stood at the base of the log jam, letting out several ringing barks, calling the dogs together when they were ready.
Blue sighed, hearing their leader's call. For being out in the wild, there was never a moment of rest. She had thought that by now, things would have calmed down, but Jack was anxious for action. She was used to the pace, however. She turned to Kane, wondering if he would stay or go. "If you want membership to the gang, you must follow Jack's call," she said, and headed for Jack, sitting back at a respectable distance before him and waiting for the others to arrive. She had seen him up on the cliff, and wondered what conclusions he had come to. As the king, he could always change his mind without notification.

| Nikita would look at him, his tongue lolling and her own licked her nose to make the air she breathed in a bit cooler. She would blink her eyes when he said she was entertaining, her ears tweaked a little. Was that good? Or bad? It didn't matter. At least she didn't let him best her and it would give her time to plot his attacks next time. She nodded. "Verrly welz." she spoke softly and then would pant ever so gently as she moved silently behind him.
She did not care much for this heat but she made no protest. She would stand back as he approached Blue and spoke, her eyes trailing to the newcomer.

| Anubis moved forth in solitary, not completely caring where he was headed, as long as it was somewhere without commotion. He was in a lazy state: his dark, slender beard was wet with slobber from his spar, and his joints ached and moved in an awkward rhythm. His paws quickly patted dirt beneath him, forming low-settled clouds of dust. He wasn’t feeling the full effects of fatigue just yet, but if he didn’t continue moving about and cooling down, he wouldn’t feel like doing much of anything for a while. The excited chatter from some of the other dogs began to fade behind Anubis as he ascended hilled terrain that led to the forest overlooking the water. Tiny rocks and shrapnel of turf tumbled behind him as he kicked with more energy to reach the top, finally arriving beneath the shade of conifer trees. His pink tongue lolled out the side of his maw in conquering the drought’s powers, and his panting breaths moved his skull up and down. Heat had certainly taken up strength quickly, as the sun beat down with abnormal intensity. The ground permeated with enough warmth to almost burn his pads; he didn’t notice it, but plants and shrubs had began to turn to lichen from lack of rain, too. Yet finding the thick shade of the forest was enough to spare him from the weather conditions. The tall arbors looming down on him from every direction in their own unique network reminded him of the two-leggeds’ skyscrapers in the city. He was never a fan of the reflective glass; he preferred the smaller buildings, the ones that made the dark, shaded alleys. They reminded him of the days when he was willing to stick his neck out for complete strangers, strangers he would never see again, in exchange for simple rewards: usually scraps of food or morsels of protection. He just had to show them how to get out of the city, but it was always more difficult than that. There were always loose ends, things keeping them from leaving, and those “things” were usually gangs of strays, maybe even K9 units. If those dogs Anubis’s clients, than they wanted Anubis as well. How he had survived some of his encounters, he stilled puzzled over…
Before he could fully become immersed in his shattered memories, a figured appeared in his glossed-over vision. Blinking his brown orbs out of the flashback, he remembered where he was and realized he had traveled much deeper into the forest than intended. As his vision focused, he recognized the dog from the first hunt. It was Kane, the massive guardian. He couldn’t tell where the Rhodesian was looking, but Anubis spoke anyway. “Oh. Didn’t see you there.” Anubis didn’t think he was much of a talker, so for once, he would keep speaking to a minimum. He looked out towards the edge of the forest, where the hues of the sky penetrated the shade the most, and where the lands of the wolves led. “I'm sure you’ve noticed that since the dogs arrived here, there’s been an interestin’ scent on the horizon……You know what it is?.......Conflict……I hope we’re ready for it……” Anubis’s crown pivoted to the other dog. Kane was a guard of the borders; he figured the bru would be the first to see the wolves, the first to fight. This would probably be the only time he spoke to him before all hell broke loose. Anubis didn’t know if the Rhodesian would respond, so he turned towards the direction of the stream, where he figured he would eventually make his way to.

| Kane listened to attentively to Blue speak and nodded his crown several times during her speech. Things were slow going, the always were in beginnings. And too fast in the endings. Now the middle though...the middle was going to be just right and as Kane's eyes flicked from sparring partner to sparring partner a sick sort of pleasure bubbled up inside of him. Yes, they would learn how to fight, they had to learn if they were to survive. And not really IF but when the wolves decided to rain on their parade Kane would make sure that those on his flanks would not be a sniveling coward who would run at the first sign of their larger cousins. Blue reiteration on how he was to treat any lupus that stumbled onto their terra was unnecessary. Kane would always do what needed to be done. He felt his jaw work its way around as his blood heated from the memory of his recent encounter. The news of the husky was mildly pleasing though if Blue had found the canine during her travels, and she smelled of those dark wild places their cousins liked to haunt, then he doubted if this she dog would come and join them. Your pack was home, home was safety and though many of his brethren, as Blue pointed out, had forgotten this Kane never would. The only was to survive was to stick together and obey your alpha. That is as long as his strength was enough if it wasn't...well they never lasted long now did they?
As Blue finished up speaking to him he eyed her ebon bodice as she stalked away. His brow raised up and stayed there at her final comment. There is no way in hell I'm being stuck with some fledgling who pisses grass he's green... . Kane allowed a heavy sigh to weigh on his shoulders before shaking his pelt and picking up his energy. Despite Blue's suggestion that he sleep he merely trotted into the forest still exploring their relatively new home. He felt obliged to learn all the secrets that it had to offer and especially all the little hidey holes.
He would be content to explore until he next sought after Jack or he ran into somebody else...

| Jacob felt a blow to his shoulder. A dance was getting deadly and he jumped away. "Enough" his tongue came out, he panted and stepped back again. "This was fun!" he smirked and turned towards the water heading towards it. Why was it so hot! He waded in, catching Jack's words. Go after a pack, and capture a wolf... did... His eyes show to Blue and he furrowed his brow having heard her say this idea. This was going to be interesting. Dogs coming in and taking a wolf to bring back here. What were they going to steal, a pup? He snorted at the thought and waded into the water farther, stepping more away from the other dogs.
Was his new home going to be known as pup bandits. Probably. That was fantastic. Pup bandits. Annoyed he stepped out of the water and walked back over to Jake. "I'm going to make a small round through the lands. Just a precaution, rather be the first to attack before they come after us" His words were sharp and he true. His body turned and with muscles trained since pup hood he trotted back to the water, stepped in, stepped out, and walking into the forest. It was hot, way to hot, and he just didn't care at this point. He hated wolves, don't get him wrong. But they had a good thing going, and to poke at the wolves... he shuddered. Thoughts raced through his head and he finally came to the boarder line, scenting the markings, and sat down, looking out, thinking... more...

| Nikita ducked and they wrestled, his paws wrapped around her midsection, and her muzzle reaching his underbelly. Jack did not use all of his strength, for it was not necessary; he was keeping her in place, his hind legs shuffling behind him to keep his own balance. She squirmed and struggled beneath him, searching for a way out, when Jack felt the blood rising within him, and he knew he had to let go. He released her and took a few steps back. His muscles were starting to ache and his nose whistled, the crushed passageway of a battle passed making it difficult to breathe. "Very well," he said in a deep voice, his pink tongue lolling out of his jaws. It was becoming unbearably hot. They both needed water. "Understand that our spar is not finished. We will resume another day, when this heat is tolerable." Black lips curled into a smirk, russet tail swishing like a husky's onto his back. "I look forward to sparring with you again. Your talent in the fight is... entertaining."
He then turned, indicating with his head for her to follow, if she so desired. He padded through the brush, noticing how the once saturated, green foilage was withered to dry, pale weeds. The brown grass crunched beneath his feet, and it was even too hot for the cicadas to buzz. The sun blasted the darker hues on his coat, though thinned for the summer, it didn't make cooling off any easier. He made a wide berth of Tauro and Jacob, pausing for a moment to watch what was happening - Jacob looked like he had a plan in mind, baiting Tauro near the river, and Jack smirked... It was a trick he knew all too well, but he wouldn't let anything on. No. Then they would never learn.
Blue's scent was nearby. He lifted his head to find her treading on the shore of the river, a Karelian bear dog not far behind her. Jack picked up his pace and tread near them, squaring his shoulders back, chest out; the appearance of a top-dog. "Looks like another soldier for molding. Good. We're going to need one to replace one of our numbers here today," he said with a malicious glint in his eye. He didn't care who this bru was, but if Blue saw him fit for the pack, then so be it. She was his beta, his advisor, his vice-captain. He had no doubts of her decisions. "Now. How go the rest of the fights?"
"You're the king, you find out," Blue replied, a slight edge to her voice. She stepped into the water; it was also warm, but it was better than standing out in the sun. Jack snorted, and Blue rolled her eyes. "The spar between Anubis and the greyhounds is finished. My guess is that they will be over her soon to recover," She kept her gaze locked with his, hard and piercing. "I just hope you know what you're getting into, Blackjack. Killing off a member of the pack isn't a wise decision by any means."
"Shut up, woman. I'm the king here, I decide who lives and who dies," he growled, sinking his paws into the water. The heat was getting to his temper. "If it upsets you so much, I may as well strip you of your rank. Or maybe I'll change my mind. Even with these spars we need some blood around here."
"Kane said he fended off some wolves on the border. Instead of shedding the blood of our own kind, why not shed the blood of the enemy?" Blue replied, unwavering beneath the large German shepherd's dominance. In fact, she still held her tail relaxed and non-submissive. He had taught her not to fear, and that was never more apparent than now. They stood at an equal distance from one another, speaking as comrades would, but their words were sharp. "We could capture one of the wolves from the packs. Take him prisoner. Then, we could kill him."
"Are you actually saying that we should start a war with the wolves?" Jack asked, chuckling. He was surprised at his companion's audacity; usually, he was the one to come up with such a devious plot. "Why... Perhaps I won't strip you of your rank afterall. As soon as the boys finishing sparring, we shall begin preparations for such an advance." Jack finished bathing, shaking his dark coat onshore, and headed for the remaining spar between Tauro and Jacob. He wondered, in such a situation, who would be the victor. Tauro had his brute strength, but Jacob had his speed...
Blue watched Jack leave, and then turned to Drake. "In case you're wondering, he approves of you. Welcome to Hamara Sydan. He'll likely keep a close eye on you to see what you can do, even if you don't notice it. As you probably overheard, things are going to get interesting around here. So, since you weren't involved in any of the spars, prepare yourself," she said, her voice colder than before. She, too, exited the water to shake off her coat, tongue hanging out of her jaws. Yes... Things were going to get interesting, that's for sure. For one thing, starting a war with the wolves was like shaking hands with the devil.

| The Karelian Bear Dog watched the spar between the two greyhounds and the cairn terrier unravel. One of the greyhounds, a female, looked at him with the look and tilt of the head of curiosity and anger. He looked in her eyes, but quickly looked away, looking in the distance where he had met Blue. He wondered who Kane was. He sighed as he watched the terrier take down the greyhound and win the spar. All of them started talking and Drake didn't try to listen. He just listened to the birds singing, and heard the sound of the river. He licked his lips as he sensed the persence of another dog, but he soon found out it was Blue.
She had spoken of going to the headquarters, saying the borderlands was no place for a newbie. He nodded and was wishing to get there quickly, hearing of the words water. He walked behind Blue as she walked by a spar. He followed her through all the large rocks, logs on the ground, and everything, and he was still behind her, which to him was quite easy to follow as he likes and is go at climbing. His tongue hanged out slightly as they started to reach the headquarters that the midnight black german shepherd was speaking of.

| Jack's manuver worked....however Nikita did mangage, with her long muzzle before he overturned her, to touch a good length of his underbelly. She found herself soon to be underneath him and her eyes wide with surprise and a half grin upon her maw. Her long legs moved to gather under him to shove him off and her closed jaw would tuck to protect her neck and fend off any attack he proved to show from above. He outweighed her whick would make tossing him off her difficult but not impossible. She would hope to manage to and if she couldn't more than like...she would break out in laughter. It was not often someone got the best of her like that. It was not often that she was swept off her feet. | |

| "Oh. We didn't mean to make you feel threatened Anubis. But, since you beat both of us in a spar, I think you will keep the rank. You don't need to hate us." She added. She tilted his head at his afterthought. She laughed softly. "Why don't you try to like everyone equally? Though I think its the same thing, because if you hate everyone equally, you like them equally." Then she noticed he had walked off. "Bye, I guess." She looked over her shoulder at Bos. "Come on!" She began to trot to where the other dogs were sparring. This could be interesting. |

| Anubis turned around towards Viator, a little surprised by her question. He figured his opposition against the two greyhounds must have seemed slightly too obvious. He cocked a brow and looked upward, pondering how he should answer such a sudden question. "Well, when you two arrived, the Alpha and Beta pretty much made it known to me that I'd be competing with you two for the position I wanted. I guess I felt kind of threatened, like I was supposed to hate you." He paused for a moment, looking down, before he quickly glanced back at the fem, giving an after thought. "Oh, but I try to hate everbody equally," he said somewhat jokingly. "Let me know if you two...um, need anything." He began to trot off once more, partially satisfied with what he had said. He trekked past Blue, giving a silent acknowledging nod before continuing. Geese, what the hell was I doing there, being kind? When have I ever tried to do that on purpose, he thought to himself, walking in solitary across the packland headquarters. | |

| Good spar, Anubis.” Viator said, getting to her feet. She shook herself off, a habit passed down through the generations, but her pelt was too short to properly collect dust or dirt.
“No hard feelings.” Bos said softly. He talked as little as he possibly could, embarrassed because his voice was rough and cracked with every word.
“Anubis, wait!” Viator trotted up to him, her tail wagging lazily. “I need ta ask ya something. Why did you hate us at first?" Her eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I wont hold a grudge, I swear." |

| Anubis smirked at her words. "Right, right, 'course." It could be said that he "won" the spar, which is all he had really wanted in the beginning, but now he didn't think it was such a necessary or meaningful victory. He had come into it hating these two for no personal reason other than the possibility that they could take his duty. But now, he...didn't hate them as much. He disliked everyone to some minor extent. Yet now he was not so threatened at the idea that Jack would decide between him and the greyhounds about who would track for the pack. He finally let his tongue hang out and panted heavily, his body less tense and his tail wagging slightly as he trotted passed Bos. "Nice spar, chum," he spoke to him, his Scottish accent thick as he panted. "Uh...sorry, I guess, about what I did over there. No hard feelings?..." He stop walking and tilted his head towards the male greyhound. | |

Must be a new record.” She laid her ears back and put her head back in submission. “Check mate, mate.” She laughed softly at the word play she used. This spar had been exactly what she needed to let off some steam, to get her back to her happy, go lucky self that she hadn‘t been since her last race. “Now do me a favor, Anubis. And Get off me!” She grinned at him, wiggling to get off the ground. |

| [ooc: might not be as good as the original, but it went along these line]
Anubis dreaded to look back where Viator had went over his form. He knew he had made contact, but it didn't seem enough to bring her down; he expected to see her reeling back around towards him, running at the high speeds of a racing dog. To his surprise, when he turned around, he found that his plans had worked in his favor: the greyhound was flipped over some feet back, letting out a yelp of surprise. He almost wanted to stop and smirk to himself at the thought of seeing a terrier flip a greyhound. However, his stubby legs rushed him to Viator's fallen form. His auds pinned to the top of his crown as he moved with great agility towards the dog, trying to get there before she could get back up and regain her balance. His black nails clicked against the hard ground in unison as he scampered, finally arriving at the side of Viator near her maw. He quickly planted his front paws on her chest and lightly placed his muzzle near her exposed and seemingly vulnerable neck. His light brown pools looked up towards her eyes, his head still afixed. "Should I call this a check mate," he asked, his lyrics a bit mufulled against her neck, "or do I get a chance to flip you again?"

| Before Viator knew what was happening, Anubis was charging her. She was moving too fast to stop, and was going too fast to turn or do anything to prevent the hit. They were like two trains on a train track, well, a train and a car. All she could do was speed up and hope for the best. Her body was already tense to prepare for the collision that would likely daze both of them. Her tongue hung out as she panted for breath, but her years as a racing dog gave her good lungs and speed, so she knew she could keep this up for a while longer. But, suddenly, Anubis went under her and flipped her, and suddenly she was on her back. She let out a startled yelp.
Bos whined. He wanted to help his fellow greyhound, but that wouldn’t be fair. He was already out of the fight. |

| Anubis did not have the time to attack Viator while her vision was skewed, for by the time he stood up and pivoted towards her, she was thundering towards him in a fast sprint. There would be little use in trying to sidestep and attack from the flank; she was moving too quickly for that. He was willing to take another risk. Before he had the chance to think it over in his head, Anubis was running as fast as he could directly at Viator, his crown leaning far ahead of his shoulders. His pink tongue craved to be released from the confinements of his jaws, his body beginning to overheat. His brown orbs had become wide with anticipation. As he was now within inches of the greyhound, he once again tried to move between her front legs and flip her from her vulnerable underside. He knew his tactics had not changed; he was not trying anything new. Yet with lanky limbed dogs like greyhounds, he figured it would be easiest to attack them near their thinnest areas. | |

| “Now now, no need for that kind of language.” She bared her teeth in an angry grin. She snarled, pulling her head back. She blinked as she tried to get the slobber from her eyes. She gnashed her teeth in frustration as she felt the little Cairn slide out between her legs during her distraction. She rubbed her paw and leg across her eyes as she got the slobber out. She blinked a couple more times to get the rest out, then bared her teeth as she looked at the Cairn. “Now, its time for you to get punished!” She snarled, rushing at the Cairn. |

| Anubis showed his teeth slightly, and his wheaten colored fur still remained in the same ruffled format as it was when the spar had begun. He knew she wasn't trying to harm him, but that almost made him more frustrated; to him, it was like he was being treated inferior; like he didn't really need effort to be dealt with. "Hahahaha, oh you think this is funny, eh?" he said in a fake laugh, ending in a growl. The sticky, accumulating slober in and on his maw was getting to be an annoyance to him. So he knew an effective way to get rid of it. Anubis spit at Viator's face, intending to use it almost as a distraction. "Screw you." he said in a playful voice. He began to push himself under her with his front paws, attempting to get out between her legs and stand again. He moved surprisingly fast, trying to scurry his terrier body out from under the greyhound while on his back. His form had been designed to crawl and dig in small places to hunt out vermin, like in piles of rocks (called cairns). Hence why he was called a Cairn Terrier. | |

| Viator grinned as she pinned Anubis to the ground. “I think the ground is getting to know your back today.” She teased in a joking voice. She was one of the dogs that bantered while fighting. She covered her fangs with her lips, so as to not actually hurt him to badly whenever she struck him. She used her hind paws to scratch at him. She snarled, preparing to strike again. She giggled at his speech, not sure if it was an insult, but it sounded funny. “Aww, poor honey, did you hit your head on the ground?” She asked sarcastically. |

| Anubis saw between his paws as Bos retreated from his position, wincing in pain. For the moment, there was one dog down, one to go. But before he could even follow up on his actions and confront Viator, she was already jumping on top of him, capitalizing on the moment to pin him down. Anubis lunged to get up off of the ground as quickly as possible, yet the greyhound had caught hold of him before he could rise, pushing his body back down hard with a thud. Dirt kicked up in tiny clouds from his back hitting the earth. He was caught under tight pressure, but his front paws had remained in front of his maw. He now tried to use them to push against Viator's body in order to create some distance between them. He wasn't completely pinned yet, but he certainly didn't possess the same control from the ground as he had before. Pushing hard with his paws against Viator, he began to bark again. He was not happy. His mind was in such disarray that he almost couldn't think of an insult. "Da friggin', furgin', daah...piece of shit!" He meant his fragmented speech in the most friendly way he could. With each provoked bark came slober slewn from his maw. | |

| Bos had to work harder to dodge the dogs shots, they were more controlled and aimed, no longer wild and random. Concern flashed across the greyhounds face when he saw the pain on the Cairns face as a result of his paws landing on him. He knew he couldn’t permanently hurt or fatally injure with this move, he was too light and not heavy enough to break his chest. He yelped in surprise in pain as he was struck in the genitals, and he leapt back, whining in the back of his throat. Viator winced at the move that had been landed on her fellow Greyhound. She saw him leap back from the Cairn, and took her chance, seeing the Cairn with his paws in front of his eyes, blocking his sight. She lunged forward, hoping to pin him to the ground and score a wound on him. |
