Eris had seen what had happened and had paused from her digging to watch it unfold. A secret smile crept into her mind. Serves the arrogant brat right. She that vehemently. Though she did no delve her thoughts into matters further nor did she bother to accompany Legend's escort party. It was her place so she continued to dig, Jaded joined them but she made no comment to the dark queen, who for such a title was strangely emotional. Certainly this pack was not a normal set of dark wolves. Reclining on her haunches she watched Damean eat and was surprised when he addressed her. Telling her to eat she rose and pressing her foot on the carcass tore off a hunk of meat and quick downed it. Ripping off another small peice she walked after Damean and getting a few yards away she looked up to find her falcon perched as always in the trees.

Throwing the meat in the air it swooped down and it deadly accuracy grabbed it in its talons and flew away. Smiling she matched her pace to the king but said nothing waiting for him to engage the conversation. Her emerald orbs fell on the path in front of them.

She smiled and retruned his warmth with a few licks to his muzzle. He spoke of their future and it seemed as everything was coming into place. She was begining to feel more normal instead of the emotional wreck she felt she had been these last few months. She nodded her head at his lyrics which included hunger and going on a scout with Eris. She nodded and buried her head into his shoulder. "Very well my love." she said. "We will get this meet in the cache after we fill our bellies." His words had set her mind at ease. She hadn't even felt jealous that he was going with Eris alone. Jaded's tawny plume wagged softly after feeling his nudge and she followed Damean back to meal at hand.

She watched as the dark king tore into his meal, with a savagery that told all on lookers that the meat was his and his alone. Jaded was going to join him but she paused. She was still abit unsure of her newly bestowed ranking of Alphess. By rights she should be able to waltz right up there and take her piece of the prize but she waited until the bloodlust seemed to be off of her love. Floating over beside him she bent to the kill. The meat was bloody and raw and a delight to her pallet. Her stomach began to churn and growl to digest as soon as the meat hit it. Delicious. She ate until sated and then sighed with content.

She looked up and found Damean's gaze upon her she smiled wagging her plume, Eris was soon at his side and they would be off. Turning around she looked upon the scene she had spotted Akiko arrive and then settle over in some nearby trees. Turning to Rawbones she said "Well done on the digging my friend." and she began to pull the half eaten carcass into the hole. It didn't take much and it slid itself into the grounds gentle embrace. She looked up and smiled at Rawbones. "I will be right back to help with that moose." She then trotted off to where Akiko lay.

She made her presence known clearly when she padded up to the white vix. Then Jaded did something she didn't think she would have ever been brave enough to do. She approached Akiko and set down beside her so their pelts touched and then leaned over and kissed her forhead to comfort her. Jaded knew exactly what was going through her mind...because it had gone through hers too. Legend. Jaded didn't think words were needed and she hoped Akiko wouldn't take offense to Jaded trying to comfort her. She would let Akiko talk if she needed to and Jaded would listen. Akiko had helped her in the past and now it was Jaded's turn to try and return the favor.

Blade wasn't surprised about Akiko's reaction as they headed back. He was mildly surprised as Damean had already come back and ordered Crow to chase Legend and Depression away. Petra and Akiko had followed. He remained, not wanting any more to do with the problem: Legend. He wasn't as close as Jaded had been, but nevertheless, it still probably stung most of the pack at the very least.

He wondered whether Exodus was still angry towards them, and was concerned for Cinder, although it looked like she was in capable hands. He looked towards the results of their hunt. Some food looked really good right now, especially after running. Wandering closer, he avoided where some of the others were tearing into their food. He paused to glance around, seeing that some of his packmates were in distress, probably trying to sort out thoughts. His mind was already clear, but spending the better part of his life in thought would do that to some.

Thorns flicked at the sound of approach but she did not turn her crown to see the one responsible. She knew who would come out of everyone and the light padfalls it certainly wasn't Damean. A mock smile came onto her features that did not touch her eyes. "Hello Jaded." She stated shortly. Then the tawny fem lay down next to her...touching her and laid a comforting kiss on her brow.
While certainly not disturbed by the act but merely curious, there were few who had dared such an approach with her and in normal cicumstances she would not have accepted such but they were not in normal circustances anymore were they? Not saying anything she just nodded her head in acceptance of words unspoken.
"I fear that if Legend lives that Damean may be in grave danger." She had seen the vindictive way he had cast his last glance and knew that this was not the last time she would see Legend. Hopefully Fenrir would find it in his plan to lay his bones to rest in a more peaceful manner.

Crow was not at all deterred by Petra's actions in joining him. He enjoyed having a second antagonist... but they didn't have much farther to go. He managed a final snap at their heels and watched as the two forsaken criminals passed over into the lone lands. A snarl ripped through the air, fangs fully bared at their exit. If either of them ever bothered to return... He found a new thought to dwell on. He looked back to Petra, to see what she had decided to do with their crossing. He waited until they were completely out of sight. Good riddance. Slowly his fur began to lower, and with the calm he found memories flooding back to him of that one bloody night... so entrenched in sorrow, engraved in his mind like a maleficent scar. He had exacted his revenge. He knew he would never see the likes of Tin Tin or the others again. The only way this could have been better would have been to kill the brat prince. But that would never happen either. With a snort, the thoughts went away with his retreating footsteps.

He came upon the pack once more, just as Damean had commanded. He approached the broody male, submissive but confident. "It's finished, Damean. They're out of our way for now..." His stomach grumbled in protest of his violent activity without sustenance. The alabaster bru looked up to his alphen with a wry smile. "Is there anything else you need of me, or am I free to eat before the rest is stored?" His bird accompanied him with a caw as if to voice its own hunger as well. They both looked upon the ebony form with plain, hungry eyes. He realized just how long it had really been since food. Weeks? At least...

The silence between them spoke louder than words. Times were tough right now. Jaded knew how Akiko felt of Legend, much like she did herself. She sat in the comfort of one she now considered a friend in arms. She sighed at Akiko's next words of Damean and flicked a tawny aud. "I have to say I am worried. Although I do not understand what caused Legend to snap the way he did. He was always a good boy, loving, intelligent...Akiko I just don't understand." Jaded's ears flicked back against her skull. She knew that Legend would seek his revenge when opportunity arose, her gut told her so. The harsh words and evil glares were not only a threat this time. She still didn't understand the reasoning behind Cinder's rape. Legend could have had any fem, ten times over willingly...why Cinder of all wolves. "We with just have to be aware...all the time."

She licked her maw and could still taste the metallic taste of blood on them. "Have you eaten Akiko?" she asked "We all have to keep up our strength especially now. And I think it would be wise to post regular patrols on the borders, day and night. Don't you?" She cocked her head and her emeralds shown concern. Jaded felt calmer now, she felt as if she was becoming herself again. She hadn't realized what her emotions had done to her and she needed to refind herself and get herself in check. She was a dark wolf for Fenris' sake and she better start acting like one. She stood and shook her pelt knowing she needed to go help finish with digging another cache. Shouldn't put all the eggs in one basket. She looked back at the ivory fem and wagged her plume. "I am off to help with the caching and you really should come and eat something." She said and hoped Akiko would agree to the offer.

Eyes were still trained ahead though the tawny fem spoke beside her. Mind was brewing with thoughts, possible scenarios running through. Considering, dismissing, evaluating them all. What would occur now? How would Midnight act and how would Akira respond to the situation. Probably would't give a damn if it didn't concern herself. A mental snort when her mind came back around to her sister. She was intended to visit her and had been sidetracked.
"Yes he has always been intelligent, but you are too clouded with love for him to see just how intelligent he was. No not intelligent....cunning. His mind has always been sharp though his words never betrayed it. He is an essence of what a souless being should be." Sighing she dimissed the statement for she wished no comment on it. As for Jaded's proposal for food and for a border patrol to be in order she too rose to her feet and shook her pelt.
"I can take care of myself." She said not unkindly. No matter how long Akiko had been in a pack, been in this pack she was not the most social wolf and her interactions with those around her were always limited. Looking at Jaded now with her clear hard lanterns she nodded. "I have other matters to attend to though." With that she turned tail and the small warrioress vanished into the darkness.

Her ear's flicked back for a moment as Akiko told her that she was too clouded with love for Legend to see his true nature. She sighed. She supposed that Akiko thought she was rather soft and fragile instead of being strong and dark as a real queen should be. She said nothing of it. Jaded had never thought she would have become the Queen of Jabbar, all she had wanted was Damean's love, she cared nothing for titles.

Auds flicked forward once again at the sound of Akiko's voice. She nodded at her words and watched as the fem dissapeared like a fleeting ghost. She licked her black nose and padded back over to where the work was to be had. She saw Blade standing observing and she called out to him. "Blade, be sure you eat and have Petra fill her belly too." She trotted over towards where Rawbones was. "Have you eaten?" she asked him stopping herself from calling him Grandfather. He reminded her of her own in a way. "You should fill your belly if you haven't." She saw Crow was back and she called out to him also. "Crow, feed yourself and your companion if you havent already." She had a feeling that the bird would pick out the beasts eyes first. She walked past the elk they just buried and came around to the other side of the rock and began to dig. They needed room for the moose and the elk calf...or what was left of them.

Sand began to pile behind her and her body began it's descent underground. It was amaizing how cool the earth was underneth the scorched sand. Digging was hard work but she felt that Rawbones and Eris had done their fair share. Plus the digging helped keep her mind off of Damean. She had trust in him now but it still didn't keep her of wanting him at her side. Was she weak for loving him? Thrusting the thought aside with the sand she thrust sand out of the now wolf sized hole.

Blade noticed Jaded approach, telling him to get some food. Then she moved on, probably telling the others. Nodding at her retreating back, he looked around for Petra, wondering how she was feeling. He knew it probably hurt her quite a lot, even if she had been focused on training Exodus. It wasn't too tricky to determine which wolves would have big hearts, but it was a bit more challenging to determine how they'd react or think. He was torn between letting her think things out or approaching.

Sighing, he decided the first thing he'd do was stop thinking about how he'd react, which was to spend some time alone. Walking towards Petra's direction, he figured it wouldn't hurt to just offer her company, whether in words or silently, to just vent, or talk about it as a normal conversation. It was clear, though, that he still had much to learn about being a better companion.

Petra stopped in place as Legend passed the border, whining like a whelp about his father's orders. She paced over the line as he and his wench disappeared into the distance. She had wanted a piece of him, something he would never be able to cope without, something that would hinder him from ever taking advantage of another female again. But somehow he had escaped, even with his leg broken and his body bleeding. She considered running to follow him, but she knew she was not strong enough to go alone. She snarled, frustrated by her limitations. But soon reality and fear began to sink into her mind. He had looked at her in a way that was very threatening as he ran away, and something told her he would see her again one day. And that day would not be in her favour.

The small hybrid gulped, and looked back at Crow. He was done here, glad to see them both gone from the lands, but she had a feeling he would have wished more upon the brute had he gotten the chance. Petra did not hang around the border long, following him with anxious feelings beginning to build within her, thoughts whirling within her mind. If she was ever caught alone by Legend, she was doomed. He had been weak now, and she would have had the power to do anything to him, but in his full health, Legend would have more power over her than she could ever hope for. The thought drained her, and when they joined the pack, she looked around longingly for her mate. At last she spotted him, and he seemed to be looking for her too.

She ran to him desperately, burying her face in his neck before looking up at him. "Blade... I fear he will come back for me," she whispered her fears to him, "Legend... he will bring more pain upon this pack than we know.." All it took was that look in his eye, and she just knew. Despite the threats of death over his head, Jabbar Junayd had not seen the last of him. And when he returned, all hell would break loose. Did the rest of them know this? Did Damean know what his ex-son was going to bring upon the pack? Petra didn't know, but all she could do was press as closely as possible to Blade, finding comfort in his warmth. Next to him she felt safe, and despite what she had just warned him of, a sense of security wrapped itself around her as she stood near him.

Ooc- Sorry for taking so long, I've been fighting off Bronchitis. I hope this post isn't like jumbled or confusing... XD

Blade saw Petra appear from the trees, back from her chase, but something was off... well, more wrong than before, since she was gettign comfort from him. Then she told him what was wrong. His mind echoed her words 'he will come back for me.' Just as he was about to step towards her, she acted first. All Blade was able to do physically was try to nuzzle her reassuringly.

A few seconds later, he said, "I assure you. I will not let anything happen to you. You're a very fast runner, which makes you a good hunter. But this also means you probably have more speed and stamina than Legend. If there's any scent of him on these lands, you can run straight to me. As long as I stand on the earth, I assure you I'll do everything in my power to prtect you." Through all this, he never moved from his spot, sensing that Petra needed the physical contact than the reassuring look in his eyes. This was quite the interesting promise for Blade, since he rarely makes them in the first place. His eyes took on a look of determination, set on seeing this promise through, as he did the other few he made. The difference this time, was that he felt this was his most important one yet, and he wouldn't accept failure on his part.

Breaking from his thoughts, he said, "Do you want to eat now? Before we set them aside for the cold season?" He felt a fierce anger towards Legend now, and vowed the next time the younger set foot on the land, he'd destroy him. But... how to do it so it was painful...? Blade was never one to anger easily, but normally when he was, his foes had better watch their backs... He forced himself to calm down a bit, though, for Petra's sake, and waited for her response.

.where the yellow brick road took a different turn. [Main Bo - Page 10 Rawbones

Rawbones paid little attention as several different wolves came to aid in digging for their caches. Though he heard all of the uproar about Legend, he kept to himself, making no comment though he wouldn't have minded tearing the young brute a new pelt. Rapists were nothing but desperate cowards. He shook his head, thinking of all the times such a thing had happened in the past. Rawbones had never had a solid opinion on the subject, not until his Queen had been victimized by someone the pack was supposed to trust. He'd been quickly shown the way out of the packlands, perhaps just as quickly as Legend now went. His neck fur bristled as he heard the young male's foolish words spoken to his adoptive mother. How dare he... But he did not interject nor make any movement as the chase began, he merely dug harder. His mind soon went elsewhere, as it often did, keepin ghim in the past. He did not look up from his duties until he noticed Jaded come to help.

He offered a small smile and a few waves of his scrawny tail as she asked whether or not he'd eaten. "Yes Jaded, I've eaten," he replied, voice low and gravelly, "I was so hungry when I caught that moose, I just couldn't help but to dig in." He'd eaten his fair share, and had already devoured most of the good and nutritious innards. There was some left, but even without the innards, there were hundreds of pounds of meat left upon the bones. It could easily keep the pack's bellies full for weeks. On top of that, the pack itself had caught hundreds more pounds of meat on their cooperative hunt. They would be well off this cold season, and it was a good thing. They wouldn't have to worry about where their next meal would come from for quite some time.

Stopping in his duties, he realized that Jaded was burning off her energy and thoughts on the same tasks he was. But he'd been digging for a while, so he allowed her to take over. He hauled himself out of the ever-deepening hole, and lay by the edge, watching her in case she over-exerted herself. He shifted until he was comfortable, and set to work wondering what she was thinking about. She seemed extremely distracted now that she was scooping out sand by the pawfuls. He took his eyes off of her for a moment, glancing around to the wolves now nearby. Damean and Akiko were not present amongst the pack. He thought he'd heard something about them needing to be somewhere, but he wasn't quite sure. But they must both be absent now, which was why Jade had been making her rounds, checking on the pack. She must be missing Damean now, and wondering what he was doing.

He glanced back to her, silver eyes consciously watching her muscles flex as she moved, before his vision blurred off and thought overtook. There were many wolves whom he wondered about; what were they doing now? Were they alive, or had they met their end in some way or another? He tilted his head. What had ever happened to Sabre on their journey to far off lands? Had be become lost, or had tragedy struck? And what of the mighty Shadow, and her strong-willed daughter, Wicked Prayer? They'd taken off, but what endeavors involved them now? Katell... his eyes softened as he thought of her, imagining that he could see her in front of him, even though he still watched Jaded. His head soon fell upon his forepaws, and he sighed. "Why must I always be drawn into the past?" he wondered aloud, "Is there not a future for me?" No, you're just too old... your days are numbered now. He wanted to strangle the thoughts, but he knew it was too true; his claws still dug into the ground, and he tried to focus on something else, anything.

I'm a man of my CONVICTIONS--

Damean let his eyes wander over Eris as she left her flying friend a task of catching a kill, which he did with style, and then she caught up with him. "Well, you've probably wondered why I bring you out with me on a walk. First, we scout together, second. I speak to you as a king to know his other pillar of the pack" His pack wasn't a pack of an alpha and his many members. His pack was that of himself as the head, and the rest as the body, they moved as one, and the pack was a killing machine when need be, together, as a whole, not as numbers. Damean gave her a soft smirk and kept walking, they would come to the boarder and scout around. The arrival of Depression set him off and he wanted to make sure Lilith wasn't here, if she was, he'd take her down for the pack to care for. Of course, this was for their own menical thoughts and actions. "Eris, where do you hail from, and by who. I know nothing of you, thus, if you can, spill it" he wasn't demanding, he held a joking tone in his voice as he said the last part.

Blue orbs danced along the trees, catching movement and slowing his stride to measure the distance first before seeing the shape of a bear cub moving along with his mother right behind him. She stopped, eyeing the two bears with caution, stepping closer to her young before she saw Damean himself turn his bod and head off. She could relax, for she herself knew that there was no danger unless she came closer to the pack. There were many hares and birds fluttering along the ground. It was going to rain, fall was coming, and this was the season for rain, specially here in Jabbar. His mind wandered over the old pack, when Shadowed was here, when she tried to convince the world she was a better leader, and then, when she got them all on her side, she left again. She was an annoying wolfess.

Then came the thoughts of Legend. His blue orbs grew hard and he felt his temper rise. His attention would be drawn elsewhere and he quickly changed his mind to Jaded. A soft smile grew in his soul before he turn his head to look at a doe and her young one walking and eating along a small valley, it wasn't even that, it was like a gutter. He watched them as they walked, so far there was no Lilith, good for her, she was smart enough not to come close to him...or even Jaded. His love...it was weird, that he loved her, but he did none the less...

Petra took comfort in the nuzzle Blade offered, and looked up into his eyes as he began to speak. She was convinced by his words that she would be safe, and knew he was right; she was fast, she always had been. He had spoken a little sense in her, and she was willing to bet her life with Legend that she would be able to outrun him, outrun anyone should they threaten her life, and run to safety. She had no doubts that Blade would do everything he could to keep her from harm, and she let a relaxed smile come to her face. "I shouldn't have been so worried; I've got you, and I know you can protect me," she said softly. She supposed fear had gotten the best of her, as it often did in such situations. Strength was not on her side, but Blade was, and the pack behind him at every step.

Still, she remembered the look in his eyes. He would come back. They were all in grave danger, she knew. Shaking her head, she cast the thought aside. Jabbar Junayd would stand strong against any threat, even she would fight to help her packmates. All thoughts of fighting were erased as Blade's voice filled her auds again, and she thought of all the food they had caught. They hadn't eaten yet, so it would be a good idea to do so before the food was stored. "Right, we should eat," she agreed, snapping away from her thoughts. Waving her tail, she sniffed out the scent of blood, and quickly found where the felled prey was stashed. She let her teeth sink into the meat and began eating, knowing it would do her well to fill up as much as possible before winter came.

Blade was glad Petra was able to calm down, although he wasn't sure what exactally what he did to achieve that, although it could have been a combination of everything he said and did. Smiing when she verbally agreed, he replied, "I can't blame you, though, nor anyone for getting worked up like that. It's a natural reaction for plenty of others; it's just a matter of finding out how to deal with it afterwards so it doesn't haunt you too badly." He was glad that she also agreed they should eat. It showed him that she really was more collected, not that he wouldn't believe her. He just didn't want her to act strong just to strain and snap from the effort to do so. As they reached the cache of meat, he, too, took a bite. It looked like most of them had eaten a bit more than normal, which he found understandable, but he settled on eating the amount he normally did. Even now, he was still adjusting to the amount of food available from a pack versus being alone. Even without eating much, he was still fit, so he assumed it ran in his bloodline or something. When he was finished, he looked up, but avoided turning his eyes to look in every direction. Instead, he kept his other senses on high alert. Ever since the recent events, he fell back to old habits- keeping highly alert while pretending to not be any more aware than normal.

Jaded was glad to hear that Rawbones had eaten and that he was now taking a rest while she dug. She gave him a friendly wag of her tawny plume and she set against the sand again. Her claws scooped away at the sand and her thoughts were with Damean and a soft smile crossed her lips fleetingly. She was so happy he was home. Then her emeralds darkened and the thought of Legend entered the current that was her mind. The words had hurt her that had poured from his maw, telling her that he would rape her too. She wouldn't be an easy of a target as poor Cinder and her ears flicked back and she dug more intensly. Trouble would brew from him. She knew in her gut he would survive and bring forth his revenge, time would tell and maybe Fenris would smile upon Jabbar and nothing would come to pass. She snorted some sand from her nose.

Ear's flicked forward as Rawbones voice came softly. She stopped digging and looked up. It must be hard to get old. Jaded thought to herself before shaking her pelt of the loose sand. She wouldn't mention she heard his wondering. "What do you think Rawbones? Will that moose of yours and Akiko's fawn fit in here?" The hole was deep and wide. There should be plenty of room but she asked the grizzled males opinion anyway. Rolling back on her haunches she lept up out of the hole lightly and landed next to Rawbones. She stretched and shook again. "Shall we go and drag that giant of a moose over here?" She asked her voice steady and light the very opposite of what her thoughts had just been.

She looked around the site. Blade and Petra were eating. Good..she thought. Akiko's presence was missing and Jaded wondered if she went to see her sister and tell her of what had happened. She thought of the pups that were probably playing at the ivory queen's feet and wished that they were playing at her own and were of her loins. She sighed a butterfly sigh and looked among her pack. Damean hadn't returned with Eris yet. She really didn't expect him back until he made the entire perimeter of the packlands. Her eyes scanned the air in the direction they made off. Eris's bird would be following maybe she would catch a glimpse. Then another bird caught her eye. Crow's crow. She looked in the marked wolf's direction. As soon as Rawbones answered she would call him over to help. Many teeth make light the work.

"I can tell you right now, I can set your body on fire with a single look"

.where the yellow brick road took a different turn. [Main Bo - Page 10 Rawbones

Anything to keep his mind off of where it was going. He watched her, Jaded, wagging his tail subconsciously in response to her own friendly gesture. He was glad to be on such better terms with her now than he had been when he'd first arrived. He must have made a rather nasty first impression with her for her to have so much disdain for him at first; but then again, she was smart not to put her trust and friendship into anyone she just met. He could admire her for such a trait. It was good to know that his King had chosen a Lady of intelligence, with a bit of reserve as to where to place her trust. Nodding with approval at his own thoughts, he suddenly noticed the darker glare of her green eyes as she worked upon the hole, and wondered what in her mind had concerned her. Probably Legend. That would have been on his mind too, if he were her, anways. He hoped she would not be too terribly troubled by it, though it was a difficult thing ot ignore.

Jaded seemed to look up the moment Rawbones had spoken, and an ear flicked back awkwardly, wondering if she'd heard him. Gracefully, however, she overlooked his words and instead focused his mind upon other things. She asked his opinion on the hole which she had finished digging, even though it was obvious that all of the prey could fit it. "It's perfect," he replied gruffly, giving an affirmative nod, "It will serve our purposes well. Nice work, Jaded." This time he hoped to make her feel good about her efforts, as she had done for him several times. But it seemed he was to be outdone in the complimenting department, as she made mention of the giant-sized moose he'd taken down. He rose to all fours with a chuckle, nodding at her suggestion. So long as the pack had eaten, it was time they got to work storing their food before the scavengers and the worms could get to it.

Once more he noticed the distraction in her wandering gaze, though at last their seemed to be a purpose to her searches. With his own silver pools he followed the direction of her sight, squinting to the skies to spot a thin smudge of black moving through the endless ceiling of blues and greys. Looking to the ground directly below was where he spotted a more clear, white haze; Crow. Perhaps he would help them as well, as this would be quite the effort on the part of just two wolves. "I'll be waiting," he murmured to her, flicking his ears in the direction of the moose. He would leave the social work up to her. Trotting over to the moose, it was clear to see that the meat he had eaten was already adding strength to his old bones, and he moved with more confidence, his tail streaming high in the air. Once at the body he positioned himself near the neck, already digging his fangs in to feel the cooling blood seep out over his tongue while he waited for his packmates' aid.

Jaded

She wagged her tail at Rawbones compliment and offered him a smile. "Thank you Rawbones. With compliments like that I am sure you had the ladies following you around in your prime." She gave him a wink of her emerald as she teased the elderly gentleman. She liked the fact he seemed to lighten up when she teased him. She nodded at his words of how he would be waiting and she tipped her dial before trotted over to where crow resided.

"Greetings Crow." She said and flicked her tawny plume in a friendly manner. "Do you think you could lend a fang and help Rawbones and I drag the moose to the cache?" Her green eyes flicked upward to Crow's companion and then back down to Crow. Funny how they had two packmembers with familiars like that. She cocked her head slightly and then asked "Is all well with you?" She wanted to make sure all her packmates were well and tended to. It was the duty of the alphess and even if Jade didn't feel she was alphess yet she would do the duty.

As she strolled along with the ebony king she did indeed wonder why her prescence was requested. Surely she had not been compromised? Everyone who could do so was dead...or either thought her long gone. No as his lyrics poured foth her wished only to know more of her. An innocent enough question and though they had aligned with Midnight Meadows they had no relations with Tirisfal Valley and thus she would be safe enough. Akira would not recognize her and there would be ample warning if that bitch ever entered these lands. Turmoil roiled in her head but she calmed herself just as Damean had. "I have no great story to tell. I am not that social. But like most wolves I do not feel right unless I am in a pack, even if I am on the fringes." Despite his joking voice at the time of the inquiry her face was completely straight and her tone flat. Clearly her past was something she was not interested to delve into. A closed book. Not like she would tell the truth anyways.

Petra smiled as Blade came over and started to eat as well. She moved closer to him, but gave him some space so he could eat peacefully - it was easy to tell he was still, even after all this time, trying to get used to pack life. She could see he was on high alert as his ears rotated slightly, and breathing patterns changed to scent the air for any signs of danger, or unusual things. But she was only looking as hard as she could, others might not be so aware of these changes in him. He was so smart, she couldn't help thinking admirably. When he had finished eating, she closed the distance between them, and allowed her leafy green eyes to go elsewhere to the packlands, watching briefly what the others were doing.

Ooc - Wasn't sure if a post for Petra was really necessary, but I figure it's been a bit since her last post. Rawbones will come at a later time I suppose XD

Crow huffed, pacing, the black beast perched upon his shoulders. Damean had never granted him the permission he had asked for to eat after his duties had been done. No matter. Someone else called. The brooding expression lifted from Crow's face as Jaded's lyrics rolled into his auds. He pulled out of his mood, feeling as though he should have cleaned his face before coming to her. His brows lifted at her words, and a face sans smile came down with a nod.

"Absolutely. Would you know," He inquired respectfully, "If there are any bodies yet unburied? I haven't eaten since Depression's intrusion." Before waiting for a response, he dipped his dial latently to Rawbones and took a massive amount of moose pelt into his mouth. If he did go without food for now, it wasn't as though the land was bereft. There were plenty of vermin and smaller prey for his stomach to be sated with. Moose was such a rare delicacy in his case though... he hoped he could perhaps see mercy from the likes of Jaded.

Jaded

Crow's lyrics came to her twin auds and she granted the alabaster male a smile. Emerald eyes watched as he bent to take the fallen on an empty belly.
"Of course Crow. Come my friend, eat off this moose. It will lighten the load." She padded over by Rawbones. "It will give us a chance to breath a bit anyway. Right Rawbones?" She replied. She lowered her hind to the ground and once again her eyes flitted to where Eris's bird soared the currents. A small comfort to know that with her was Damean. She looked back and licked her lips and gave her companions a smile. She cast her gaze and caught Petra looking over. She gave her tawny plume a soft wag in greeting to the fem. She sure hoped she would be able to mend the rift that was between them, even if it was no fault of Jaded's own.

Her ear flicked and wondered of Akiko and if she went to visit her sister or not. The thought of Akira and her brood made Jaded jealous for a moment. The litter should have been Jaded's own. She sighed hiding her emotions behind her vibrant eyes.

Rawbones smirked as Jaded spoke, teasing him and giving a little wink of her shimmering emerald afterwards. He couldn't help but to chuckle, shaking his head. "Ha, I'm still in my prime," he scoffed jokingly, holding his tail high and proud as if she'd offended him. If only she knew that it had been he chasing the ladies, not the other way around. Oh, if only luck had been his... snorting a bit, somewhat amused but also trying not to fall into his own thoughts, he waited by the moose. He watched Jade as she moved toward Crow to ask for his assistance and, inevitably, they walked back, where he gave them both a nod. He shrugged as Crow was given the permission to eat, though he certainly hadn't needed it. They weren't a bunch of greedy savages. Besides, he was more than willing to allow someone to eat if it meant lightening the load and having a chance to rest.

He gave Crow some space to eat to his heart's content, and lay down several feet from Jaded. He watched her eyes, curious as always as to the thoughts and feelings of another. He followed her gaze to the bird, though knew not of its significance to her. When he looked back at her, she had turned once more to he and Crow, an ever so captivating smile upon her visage. Her eyes turned again, and he smiled before once more looking where she did. There he found Petra. He pretended he had not looked upon her, and glanced away, his eyes more intent upon someone else. Her ear flicked back, silence still with her, and then a sigh. Rawbones wondered what bothered her, but her emotions were soon hidden beneath vibrant, deceiptful emerald depths.

Deciding he'd held his stare for far much longer than would have been comfortable for Jaded, he turned it away, looking to Crow to see if he was yet satisfied. He rose to all fours again, knowing it would soon be time to get to work dragging the massive carcass, as well as several others that the pack had brought down. More than enough to feed them all many times over. Shaking out his ruffled coat, debris lightly floated from his fur, then he stretched out each limb so he would have maximum durability.

Petra spotted Jaded from across the way, who seemed to be preparing with Rawbones and Crow to bring all of the prey to the holding dug-outs. She and Blade were just finishing up eating, and she wondered if they should lend their strength. Petra had little to offer, but at least it would be some of the load off their shoulders. When Jade wagged her tail, Petra returned it and offered a shy smile, feeling foolish for previous jealous rages. She just didn't seem able to control them when they arose, though she should have known better all along. Looking to Blade, she said, "Maybe we should lend a paw," she suggested softly. They weren't doing much anyways, unless he had other plans.

The alabaster hessian sank his jaws into the meat without another cue. He tore at the life-giving food until he was relatively sated. Enought to hold him over for a while, but not so much that he seemed a glutton. When he surfaced, his pink tongue flicked out to clean the blood from about his maw. The last of the spatters from his business earlier remained too far for the tip to reach. Crow smiled contentedly and approached his alphess coolly. "Thank you for the opportunity. Perhaps our burden will be a bit lightened now that there's some of the meat gone."

He gave a glance to Rawbones, knowing the elder was waiting for him to finish, and took a leg. He was ready to go on, but he paused, to make sure they were willing to join him. As he waited, almost awkwardly with the ankle taking up his fangs, he had to wonder... was he still ranked here? Did they still consider him a scout, spy, whatever title it was? Perhaps he had lost it in his absence. Perhaps he had regained it in doing Damean's dirty work. Only his eyes moved as he watched his crow land at the moose's stomach and peck at some exposed meat. He was about to snap at it and shoo it away for the time being, but it took little and flew away too soon. The hessian figured they wouldn't mind a few morsels gone from such a large beast.

Blade heard Petra suggest they help, and he looked back in the direction of some of the wolves gathered, ready to hide the meat. He vaguely noticed the exchange between her and Jaded, as his gaze jumped between each wolf in sight. Things had quieted down again, but for how long? He stood up straighter, a silent reply of agreement until he said verbally, "Yeah, perhaps we should." It was quieter now, but he couldn't help but think for a brief second about Cinder. His tail stilled from its seemingly carefree sway momentarily, as he wondered just when had he started changing. Had he still been wandering alone, he wouldn't have spared another thought and just move on with life... but if he had just kept walking through these lands, he wouldn't have met Petra. The change wasn't a bad one, he was just not too used to it, either. He spoke up, "I guess we should take this one to them now, then."

Jaded

Jaded caught Petra's soft smile and she returned it with a bigger one before turning back to the wolves at hand. She awaited Crow to finish his meal. It seemed as if the bru was done far sooner than he should have been. "I am sure it will be lightened my friend." she said and then added "Are you sure you don't want to lighten it some more?" She wanted everyone to have full bellies of fresh meat. The pack deserved it. The hunt would provide food in winter when times were lean. Jaded's twin thorns flicke forward and she cast her eyes to Rawbones who was now standing and looking at Crow. She stood and shook her tawny pelt. "No rest for the wicked." she said in a warm tone and went to aide Crow since he already picked up the leg of the moose. Crow's black bird then came and helped himself to a morsel. Her ears flicked back and then regained composure. As long as the obsidian creature didn't call upon his kin she wouldn't say anything of him picking a few bites.

Jaded reached for the moose's neck so she would be pulling tandum with Crow. She set her ivories into the animals cooling flesh and began to tug. It shouldn't take the three of them long to pull what was left of the meal to the hole and them plop Petra and Blade's kill on top of it when they were finished.

Damean nodded as Eris spoke of not having a story. It ment she did, but she was too secret to say anything. He shrugged as his auds went up and he listened, sniffing the air at the same time. "Go back to the pack. I'll be along shortly. I smell bear, I want the pack together. If the meat isn't hidden, tell them to hurry their asses along, in those words." He growled and stepped away, stepping into the forest... (he's going to muerta)

And of course, the king of these lands was right. There was a bear. It stalked slowly along the ground, its nose was pressed into the dirt, sniffing along the bugs, finding some had the scent of game on it, fresh game. It's big brown head came up and it marched faster into the terra. Food, fresh food, killed already, what a joy, it'd be so easy to just snack on now. His body rounded through the trees, the branches broke as they got caught on his thick pelt, and there was the pack, standing there, a deer still in the open. The griz opened his big mouth a let out a nasty roar of a growl, and then charged forward.... foooooodddd.....
