To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 CrimsonStar

Crimson roared with laughter as Kaia suggested she was crazy - some might call her crazy - but did the femme think she had any intention of leaving? As if. She wasn't going to back down from a challenge, and she was not going to leave here today if she didn't accomplish at least one murder. She would die to achieve such a goal. Her laughter dwindled to a darkened chuckle, and she shook her head. "They don't need me," she murmured, glaring at Kaia, "They won't miss me, I assure you." She knew that they would be able to handle themselves without her. They were strong, young and resilient, and they had each other. Crimson had lost too much. Her other son had disappeared, Ludo was gone, Cheveyo, Lux Atreyu... Blood Star. They had all gone from her.

Giving her head a big shake, she looked away from Kaia for a moment, glancing over at Sephiroth, who seemed in a rage of some sorts, trying to come to terms with it. Then she glanced back to Kaia. The femme was angry, furious even, but she was only on the defensive right now. This brute, Sephiroth, he seemed on the verge of murder. If Kaia was not going to provide her with entertainment before her death, then this hellion certainly would. And he would set he rest in motion. Without hesitation, Crimson leapt away from the Alphaess, and lunged for Sephiroth, her jaws reaching towards his upper foreleg.

Ooc - I'll respond with Tellika once this fight is over with so that some time has gone by since she went into the den

Sephiroth's rage was so palpable that Kaia felt as though she could see the air around him darkening. Oh good god, there was no way that any of them could hold him back if he lost control. Because of this, she tried frantically to keep Crimson down, but the stupid fem broke free of her tries. Now she seemed poised, waiting. Now completely furious, Kaia glared at the she-wolf who had destroyed their peace. At least her daughters were free of this mad plan. Now one could say that the only one who would be hurt here today would be she who was so plainly begging for it. However, Kaia could not let another pack wolf's blood to be spilt on her lands. It was not even her conscience fully, though that did play a part. No, it was the thought of the retribution that would be warranted by the avenging family. This whole thing, started by a single misunderstanding, could begin a chain reaction that would flare up into chaos, and many would fall, she was sure. This wasn't something she was willing to even consider.

Taking a deep breath, Kaia stared Crimson in the eye. "You are crazy if you think you will leave here alive continuing this path you have chosen. I realize that your pain is great, but is it really so bad as to deprive your daughters a mother? Because then the same emotion you yourself feel at this moment will fall on them." She was trying to make this wolf see reason, but somehow, she doubted that this attempt would be any more successful than her last few. Her patience was beginning to fray despite her better judgment, and her leg was afire from the wound Crimson had laid on it. This just needed to be done with.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 3770092652_f6f0317d7e

If possible, Julien could have smiled wider at Winter's comment about being crazy - Because, well, being crazy was all a matter of perspective. He watched her pull Vengeance from the fight and run off in the direction they had come, which he guessed to be the direction of Muerta. Winter's ice blue eyes caught his as he remained standing, being perhaps the only wolf in Hamara that was not reigning down bloodshed on Crimson... In all honesty, he knew that this entire mission was Crimson's, not theirs. And that was why they were leaving. They perhaps already believed that the Hamara wolves were guilty of killing their brother, when in fact, they were not... but if they killed Crimson, then yes, there was blood on their hands.

Julien sighed, knowing that with those two gone, there was only one thing left to do. And he did not want to partake in it. Instead, he limped away from the battleground, licking his wound on his front leg like a dog. It would heal, soon enough. The wind blew and he caught the scent of birth. Birth...? That was the last thing he would have expected today. He approached a small den from where the birthing scent was coming from, as well as the scent of Tellika. He had not known that she was expecting whelps... but from who? He stood, looking over his shoulder for the father. He did not want to be mauled to pieces because he had crossed territorial boundaries.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 CrimsonStar

Crimson could only roar as Leon blocked her from getting to Kaia, and locked jaws with him as he bellowed a challange her way. She had never stood down from a challenge, and today would be no different. Today, she did not care what the outcome was, whether she won or lost. She only cared that she went down fighting til every last drop of her blood had leaked. She took a step back now, panting heavily as she looked to her foes. Her ears perked as she noticed Sephiroth move closer; he seemed in a full rage, the lust for blood running rampant through his body. She narrowed her eyes, her maw splitting in a wide grin. "The blood runs well today," she hissed enticingly, "So warm and succulent." She taunted him, looking into his bloodshot eyes before he closed them tight, trying to hold back.

Then her attention was stolen by Kaia as the Alphaess moved forward in an attempt to get her to the ground. Tail lashed, and Crimson lowered her body, bracing herself. Her thick musculature kept her grounded as Kaia moved into her roughly, and she pushed back before making a leap backwards. "Ha! How brave," she said with a rough laugh, "But I won't go down that easy." All she wanted now was to build up everyone's anger, everyone's hatred, so they would bear down upon her. She would struggle against them with every last breath, but she knew the fate that she truly desired. Lashing her tail again, Crimson glanced to and fro, anticipating who would make a move next, claws digging into the ground as she waited...

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Winter

Winter watched as her bratty sister ignored her commands and kept on fighting. She was lucky that anybody was around to save her hide if need be, for she would be taken out easily if she'd been left alone. How naive. "You have a lot to learn, you fool.." she murmured under her breath. She was about to move forward when she heard a voice from behind, and looked to Julien.

"Perhaps we'll meet again" he said.

Was he insane? She would have enjoyed every moment of tearing his body limb from limb had things gone her way, and he was thinking about meeting her again? She stared at him for a couple moments in disbelief, then shook her head. "You must be out of your mind," she said to him, then turned around and ran towards her sister. The little wench was still engaging in battle, with what looked like no intention of stopping. As soon as her jaws came loose from Epica for just a moment, Winter thundered through the wolves and closed her traps roughly around Vengeance's scruff, dragging her out of the fight. The young one had no choice but to get moving as Winter shoved her forward.

Moving now with heavy but graceful strides, Winter led the way out of the lands, glancing back once, her heart aching as she watched more and more wolves surround her mother. She was going to die today, so needlessly. Forcing herself to look away, her icy orbs landed briefly on Julien again before she shook her head and looked straight forward. What a peculiar wolf...

//------Avenged Star-------\\

Vengeance growled as Casanova moved out of the way of her fangs, but was pleasantly surprised to find that another wolf had willingly jumped into the range of her young, snow-white razors. She bit down the moment she felt flesh between her jaws, wanting to taste the first blood of her first real battle. She was delighted at the salty, metallic flavour as the blood washed over her tongue, but she quickly found the downside of being in such close quarters with an enemy wolf. She felt teeth lashing over her head, leaving nasty cuts over the top of her skull. Then she felt her neck turning, and she moved her body as Epica tried to roll her over in an awkward position. She had to let go, but snapped forward with her fangs again, snarling viciously as she reached out for the femme.

Then, suddenly, she was being whisked away with rough fangs in the scruff of her neck, and was forced to find her footing and get moving to avoid crashing to the ground. She wrinkled her nose as she turned around to find Winter releasing her and moving forward. Huffing, she knew that the fun was over, but at least it had not been before she'd done some damage, little as it was. As the older she-wolf took off at a quick pace, Vengeance started running too, not looking back as the snarls grew louder around her mother...

PostSubject: Re: To the lost, sanctuary... (MB)   To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Icon_minitimeFri Oct 08, 2010 3:40 am

Sephiroth's attention was fading fast. His vision was turning red and the only thing he could see was Kaia and Crimson. His voice broke in a snarl as Leon stepped in and Crimson ordered kin to go though she'd stay. The pounding in his head. It began to hurt like the many other times... His body shook and he felt his mind slip into a deep void as a soft beating drum came out... Gathump. It got louder and louder his head shook roughly trying to make it go away but as Kaia moved to pin Crimson, Sephiroth felt his head explode as something pushed him forward. He gave a soft scream and stopped closing his eyes trying not to watch... He'd kill them... Kill them both...

Epica growled at the female who wanted to keep up the fight. "you don't listen very well so here let me teach you a lesson of listening to what's told." Epica jumped forward as Vengence went for his hind taking the blow to her upper ribs. A yelp of pain was followed by a snarl and feverish attempts to roll on top of het and snap at her head maybe breaking her neck at this angle. It was then her eyes caught Sephiroth and motives changed. She needed to kill this fem or injure her enough to make her stop and save the rest from him or him from them... She should have let Casanova deal with this pup now they all were in some danger... She snapped and stopped trying to roll the fem over but wanted to pull herself free of Vengences grip to shove him aside. She snapped then looked at the twitching bru... Surely she wasn't the only who noticed.? She growled again as pain shot down her side and snapped at Vengence again.

Ooc. Hey I made it sound like veng had ahold on epica I ment just from taking the blow only not like she held on but ya I bet you get it

Kaia's teeth gritted as the crazed mother bit down harder, obviously attempting to break the limb. She tried her hardest to keep from kicking, though the pain was horrible... to tear the flesh in such a way would be even worse. Luckily Sephiroth got there before she could accomplish her goal, knocking her away and releasing Kaia.

Leon and Sephiroth were seeking blood, but Kaia did not want this fem to die here. She, however, seemed bound and detirmined to incite such an outcome. The alphaess had given Crimson the chance to leave, but instead she sent her daughters, one of whom got the message. She herself stayed, however, once again charging to the attack, this time obviously looking for the kill. Kaia ducked, but most likely would have been engaged in a fight once more if Leon had not come between them.

Kaia growled in frustration. She was outnumbered, hurt, and completely psychotic! What did she hope to gain? Empty revenge? Perhaps she truly did want to die.

"No," she growled, eyes narrowing. Her pack was not made up of murderers. They were better than that. Jumping into the fight, she attempted to pin Crimson to the ground, firmly and roughly.

Crimson would find herself not so easily at the alphess's throat because in a flash Leon shifted into position and with a bellow that called out his challenge waited to take the hit for Kaia and inflict his own damage. This fem was crazy. She had sent her daughters away and she should have gone with them! Leon was angry now. Clearly this she wolf wanted to die today and it seemed they were past the point of mercy. So he faced the witch knowing he did so to defend his alphess and to end her miserable life. It seemed only then would she find peace and maybe reunite with her son. Dyrim stood close to Kaia's flank protecting her from the other side. Her fur was standing on edge. For a neutral pack there sure were a lot of dark wolves around and it was putting her on edge. The raw fury all these males were emitting made her want to flee but she would not leave Kaia.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 3770092652_f6f0317d7e

Oh, how kind, she had commented his eyes. His half-smile did not fade as Winter approached - she still wanted to fight, but if she was really thirsty for his blood, she would have to chase him. He was a runner, afterall, even if injured. When she was about to attack and he about to bolt, his ears perked to hear Crimson's order of calling both Winter and Vengeance off. What was she trying to do? Fight to the death...? Yes, Julien realized, she is. And there would be nothing her two daughters could do about it. What a cruel, vain world.

"Perhaps we'll meet again," he said to Winter as she and her sister aimed to flee. He would not give chase - Why follow them and run into another fight? Fighting was just very pointless, or at least in his opinion. He stood where he was, watching as the rest of the Hamara wolves pounced on Crimson, probably killing her... Maybe Kaia would call off the attack. Sure, Crimson was relentless, but even Julien could see that she was more angry and hurt over the loss of her son than shredding his killer apart. Why reject sympathy, why bite the hand that feeds? He shook his head and wondered how the next moments would unfold.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Casano10

For the briefest of moments, Casanova was afraid to see Epica join the fray. But soon he recalled her background and was content to let her get her fill of the battle. Pride pounded his heart as she came to his aid. But they weren't finished. Not just yet. Vengeance retaliated at Epica's attack and came for him again. He bared his teeth and threw his weight aside. He faced the young femme, fangs bared and form bowed, ready to pounce. His words came in a heavy growl. "Try to bite me in the ass? You'll find fate has much the same consequence in store for you. Now listen to your mother and get out, whelp." As much as he wanted to turn his back on her, he knew it to be much too unwise in the face of this deadly family. Though his focus was on Vengeance, he kept Crimson in his sights. He knew one of the others would move to intercept her again, and it was clear that she didn't intend to leave here today. As soon as the two daughters were out of sight he would throw himself in with the rest and help to take her down. As much as he despised them, he wouldn't let the children see this. And he wouldn't risk being set upon again in the meantime.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 CrimsonStar

A deranged cackled passed through her clenched jaws as she met her target. Blood-hued orbs looked directly into Kaia's eyes as the femme turned and lashed out at her face, leaving bloodied marks across her muzzle, while the hind paw scraped her ear and cheek. Still, she was not convinced to let go, and held on firmly, straining her jaws and intensifying the pressure, hoping to hear the satisfying crunch of bone. She only growled louder as Kaia tried to reason with her, tried to sympathize. No, Kaia didn't know what she was talking about. Someone from this pack had done it. Blood Star had told her so before the heavy internal bleeding took the last breath from his lungs. But if he wasn't here anymore, somebody had to pay the price for her broken heart. Anyone.

Suddenly a wolf was barreling into her side, knocking her to the ground and winding her. She was utterly surprised, and it took her several moments to gain her bearings. She glanced around to see Winter facing off still with Julien, blood falling from several wounds on her body, while her other daughter was fearlessly attacking a big male while a femora went dashing after her. With a growl, Crimson got to her paws and shook her head, facing Sephiroth and Kaia, with Leon and Dyrim at her side. She was severely outnumbered, but she had come for only one thing today, and that was to do as much damage as possible before she died. However, her daughters needn't be subjected to the same fate, and she would not let her last visions of them be them lying in a pool of their own blood.

"Winter!" she roared, her eyes still staring intently at Sephiroth, "Take your sister and go now. I will finish things here." Without waiting to see if her words had been heeded, Crimson lunged towards Sephiroth, then took a sharp detour around him, aiming for the Alphaess once more. This time, her powerful jaws aimed for the side of her neck, hoping to dig in and do serious damage.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Winter

Winter snarled at Julien as he let go and nearly toppled backwards. She would've taken the opportunity to go after him if Leon's teeth weren't in her other side. By the time she went to snap for him, Leon had already stopped his attack and placed himself at Kaia's side, blocking her way to the Alphaess. Sneering, she turned away from him and faced Julien again, her icy blue orbs locking onto his. He was staring at her in a strange way with that half-smile of his, and she didn't like it. The hackles on her shoulders bristled as she stared back at him, muscles tensing.

"If you want to keep those pretty little eyes," she snarled venemously, "You'll stop staring at me like that." She stalked towards him, baring glistening ivories at him. She was about to pounce when she heard her mother's voice cut through the air, and her ears pinned back. Winter turned, angling her body so she could look to Crimson without losing sight of Julien. What was her mother planning? To take on all of these wolves at once, on her own? Seeing the gleam in Crimson's eyes, she knew then what the wolfess intended to do.

Sighing, she shook her head. "Mother," she called out, but she was not heard. Crimson was flying into battle once more. Winter let out a frustrated growl and looked back to Julien. "You're lucky," she rumbled, then whipped around and ran towards her younger sister. She smirked when she saw Vengeance trying to hold her own against two wolves. "Vengeance, let's go," she barked, standing stiffly near the fighting wolves. She didn't know whether to expect the Hamara wolves to stop their attack and let them go, but she would get her sister out of this if she needed to so they could escape.

//------Avenged Star-------\\

Vengeance narrowed her eyes as someone came rushing at her. She didn't halt her attack, merely turning her body so she could lift a hind leg and strike out at Epica's face as she lunged. She was annoyed when she heard Crimson's voice, and then saw Winter plodding towards her. She growled when her sister beckoned her away. Her first fight, and it was cut short. How disappointing. She didn't want to leave without her first taste of blood. Feeling cheeky, she ignored Winter and still tried to get a bite in on Casanova's rump.

Tellika shrugged as Epica turned to her and apologized before darting off to help her mate. She didn't care for feminine companionship, and was not disappointed when Epica left her side. Groaning softly, she lifted her body away from where she sat and moved away from the commotion, seeking out her old den. Her belly ached and cramped, telling her that it was time. She was no use just standing around, and thus she knew she had to seek shelter. Once she arrived she slunk right inside, taking in all the old scents that brought back so many memories, yet she tried to block them from entering her mind. Happy as she'd been back then, the memories left her with nothing but sorrow now, so coldly, she forced the thoughts out of her mind, severing the bonds, the love she'd felt for anyone in her life. Instead she focused on the now, and wondered what would happen when this was done..

Kaia was sidetracked momentarily as Sephiroth came barging in. Here was one she hadn't seen in a while... and yet she couldn't be anything but happy to see him. A glow entered her gaze as the tide began to turn, more and more of the pack joining to drive the intruders off.

She had left her mark on one, but still they fought on. Were they stupid? Did they want to die here today?

At that moment, Crimson's teeth met their mark in her leg, a surprise attack that reached past both Casanova and Sephiroth. Twisting around, she snapped at the fem's face, other hind leg also kicking with seeking claws. Obviously, she wasn't going to rest until she had Kaia. Knowing that she was the target, she snarled, trying to break away.

"I'm sorry about your son, I really am. But this pack is innocent of the crimes of which you accuse us. Leave now, please, with your lives." She directed the words more at the younger wolves than the unreasonable mother. Perhaps they would sway her crazed mindset.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 3770092652_f6f0317d7e

Front incisors sank into Winter's flank, and blood seeped into Julien's mouth. Winter whirled on him and he felt the hair on his ears bitten, and he let go and ducked his head, knowing that he did not have a good enough hold to cause serious damage, only a small wound. He shied away from her snapping jaws, almost losing his balance and falling over onto his back, but caught himself and jumped back a foot or two, now trying to get out of the fight.

He was so goddamn sick of it. Hot blood dribbled from the wound in his leg and he panted - he really was not a fighter, so what the hell did he think he was doing? There were enough wolves here now - especially Sephiroth - and that would certainly be enough to take these three down, wouldn't it? Sure, they were out for blood... But they'd have to surrender eventually. Or at least, that's what logic argued. Then again, this trio wasn't very logical at all. Oh, how he hated stupid wolves...

Even though he didn't want to fight, he cocked a half-smile at Winter. He wouldn't be at all surprised if she was still after him. He would've said that she and her friends were outnumbered, but obviously, she was not in charge. Crimson was, and there was no chance of the attack being called off. Pity. Though she was attacking him, he had to admit that she was actually quite an attractive femora. Maybe once they were done fighting and everything, he could tell her this. Haha. What a masochist he was.

Sephiroth was livid. His eyes shook and he ran full speed at Crimson. He'd knock into her and anyone who got into his way...

Epica watched in horror as wolves turned to attack Casanova. Her mate! Her head turned and she looked at tellika and frowned "sorry" she said sharply and rushed forward towards Vengence. "don't even think about it wench!" her mouth opened to grab fur or lock jaws with the fem if she dared to turn in time... Epica's past kicked in and she was just as deadly as they could be...

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 CrimsonStar

Frustration burned within Crimson as a new brute entered the scene and her claws raked his face rather than Kaia's. He had gotten in her way! "Fool!" she snarled in annoyance, "Move out of my way!" She was down on all fours again and quickly moved towards Casanova, giving not a moment's hesitation to shove past him and head for Kaia again; she would leave her tail behind in his jaws if it meant tasting Kaia's blood. Everything was happening so quickly, and she saw that her daughter was outnumbered four to one. She had to grab these wolves' attention right now. "Get over here so I can kill you!" she growled horridly. As Kaia lunged for Winter's shoulder, Crimson lunged in for her hind leg with a savage snarl, hoping to pull her off of Winter and focus her attention back to herself. And if these others needed to protect their Alphaess, then they would leave her daughter alone, or so she hoped.

//------Avenged Star-------\\

Vengeance stood back for a few moments longer, watching as move after move passed by quickly. She didn't know where to jump in; there were too many wolves, and she didn't want to die here today. An ear folded back as she saw a big, burly-looking hessian come upon the scene, infuriated, threatening to kill them and make their deaths hell. Hmph, what a big talker, she thought callously, ignoring him. She wasn't going to let words stop her. Glancing around desperately, she saw the wolf that her mother had recently struck with her claws. Seeing that Crimson needed to be uninterrupted in her attack, Vengeance rushed towards Casanova, hoping to catch her fangs in the back of his haunches while he wasn't looking.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Winter

Winter heard Julien's voice before he got to her, but his teeth were quickly in her flank. She whirled around, snapping her dangerous jaws towards his skull; she would rip his ears off if she got the chance. Just as her jaws were snapping towards Julien's head, she felt Kaia's fangs slash her shoulder, leaving a nasty wound and splattered blood behind, though Winter's own momentum prevented her clamping down and getting a good hold on her. Growling, she ignored the pain as adrenaline pulsed through her veins, though was shocked as a third set of jaws was set upon her other flank. Damn these wolves, she thought, glancing around herself with narrowed, ice-blue eyes. Still, her attention was focused on Julien. Deadly fangs were aimed toward Julien's head; if she wanted to get out of this alive, she knew she had to make fast and vicious attacks. If she could get hold of him, she would give a mighty shake to rip his flesh.

Tellika could do nothing as she watched the battle rage on. She cared little for the whelps within her, but it wouldn't do her any good to fight in this condition; she would more likely just get in the way. She looked to Julien before he darted back into battle. If anyone were to go for help, it wouldn't be her. She wouldn't be able to get to any other pack in even half the time a regular wolf would. It was too close to her time. Slowly, Tellika moved closer to the fighting wolves, deciding that she was well enough to lend a fang if needed, but she could soon see that Hamara's numbers were great enough to defeat these enemies without her assistance. Feeling useless, but justifiably so, Tellika sat back, watching with cold, golden eyes as blood was shed.

Leon glanced at the Kaia as she entered the scene and it was foolish notion to think that she wouldn't try to fight but he would protect her the best he could and Julien went to guard Dyrim which was how it should be. Crimson lunged for Kaia and he was prepared to take the hit for her when an unfamiliar wolf entered the scene taking the damage. Leon shot him a quizzical glance but could spare him no more attention because Kaia had launched an attack on another wolfess. Snarling he abandoned diplomacy and he threw his bulk into the battle hoping to scare these wolves, two of which looked rather young. While Kaia went for Winter's upper half he lunged in trying to give a good bite on her flank and he noticed that Julien had turned his attention on her as well. The trio was now trying to get to Kaia so he abandoned his attack and stood with his back to Kaia to protect her flanks. He knew that big she wolf would probably try and get past Casanova. Ear flicked as Sephiroth came charging in and for a moment he frowned but shrugged. In this they had a common goal and he added his own bellow to the cacophony.

Dyrim frowned, she was not a coward. She just did not like fighting. Why did wolves always think she was a coward or weak? Again she lunged but this time Julien intercepted and she grimaced. He was already injured, he should not have done that for her. But suddenly Kaia was here and all the wolves were going for her and she gaped in horror. But much to her relief the whole pack was suddenly here and how could these three muerta wolves stand against them now? She still did not approve of the violence but there was no chance. Very nimble she maneuvered so that she was right next to Kaia squeezing between her and Leon. She snapped at Winter's feet half heartedly but was on alert for attacks coming from a different quarter.

Dirt flew. His nails dug into the soil sending him speeding along the grounds. Kaia, he needed to talk to her, and talk to her fast, but as he entered the lands there was more trouble and he felt each muscle from his leg push him harder. Cramps that built were soon worked out and he was a blue of fire along the lands of Hamara. He watched as Casanova ran away, and then Epica followed behind him. Fire like orbs danced with words that he heard and he quickly came to the scene. "Kaia!" He took in everything quickly. Pregnant, Kaia, Julien, Future Whelps, Kaia...Kaia... Sephiroth let out a bellow of a growl and plunged himself forward. "Death is only the beginning of you don't go. I'll make your future deaths hell if you don't leave and don't think I wont"

The hair along his back stood on end and his lips pulled back as he came into the battle royal. Anyone, any of them, he'd take them. His body was moving like a snake towards Kaia, wanting to push her back but knowing deep inside her alpha insticts would want to make her fight, but he'd fight for her, he'd die for her... And he needed her alive, he needed to talk to her... badly...

Epica's belly felt so full, something so strange to her being. It was then that she felt Casanova get tense and she followed his mannor and soon they both were racing along land to get wherever the tension came from. The pack was in a battle, with who...Muerta? She took a gasp of air and quickly moved along the scene slowly, not wanting to draw attention and stood near Tellika...a natural reaction to protect her...she bor whelps, even if Epica hadn't noticed before, it was clear now, and it was clear this would be her duty... With the sight of happenings she got the sudden urge to jump in... it was like being with Evon again, and as her thoughts went to her sister she felt herself get distracted when Sephiroth came in and a chill ran down her spine. His words were ugly, his body was ugly...he wasn't ment for a pure pack and she felt it in every fiber of her body though she knew why he stayed it was just weird...

Kaia reared up ready to take Crimson's hit and lay a few of her own on the other, but suddenly, she was gone. Surprised, Kaia whirled, reacting with barely enough time to Winter's onslaught, her muzzle and claws brushing by a hair's breadth from her side. Without hesitation she leapt after the girl, hoping to get a hit in while she was still distracted by the miss. Teeth bared, she aimed for the shoulder. She did not want to kill these wolves... but they needed to see reason!

From the corner of her eye, she caught sight of Casanova, who was fighting with Crimson. He must have taken her attack. Pride welled within her for the pack she had found here... she wouldn't trade them for the world.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Casano10

So much for peace. The days had been long and easy in Hamara, something Casanova had been unused to, but with which he was pleasantly becoming accustomed. With a full belly and Epica lovingly by his side, life was good again. But it seemed this was quickly coming to an end. There was tension in the air, and far off he could hear angry snarls. It was all he could do to go investigate. He pricked his thorns straight, listening for the sound and headed off at a hurried trot to the source of the commotion. It put him at unease, immediately assuming it was Jabbar looking for answers. But when the scent came as Muerta, his heart set to racing. What could they want here?

It was a full brawl, his small pack full-handed with just a few of the devil's followers. He let out a deep growl. How dare they?! He caught the sound of Tellika's voice and turned to her swiftly. She was so very pregnant. What a shame. Immediately, though, Crimson let out a heinous cry, and he was on his guard. She was throwing herself at Kaia, the one who had so graciously let him make his home here. That just couldn't happen. Without thinking twice, he forced himself between them, taking the hit and rolling aside. he snarled to himself, taking a moment to pant at the ground. He licked the blood that dripped from his brow where Crimson's claws had struck deep. Damn. He winced at the sting and moved on. "Julien!" He called. He had heard the words from the bru's mouth. "Tristan is gone. He's moved on somewhere else." Not like the old cripple would've been much help in a fight, anyway. He waited there, like a sitting duck. He knew the wench would be pissed at him for cutting in on her moment of glory, but if he could do anything to draw her away from Kaia, then so be it. It struck him suddenly that there could have been more of them, spread out, though unlikely. As he waited, his mind pulsed, fearing for Epica's safety.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 3770092652_f6f0317d7e

Julien slammed his body into Vengeance's, but it wasn't enough to knock her off her feet, her claws digging in the ground. He shied back just in time, her jaws snapping at his face, snatching a few whiskers but nothing else. He reared up on his hind legs, aiming to bat her in the face with his talons, but just as he came down she had snaked out from underneath him and towards... Kaia? She had returned! Julien's feet met the ground, his brow furrow. "About damn time," he muttered. His stood there for only a moment, catching his breath and watching the battle unfold even further. He looked over his shoulder at the frightened Dyrim and a newly-arrived Tellika. Where had she been? He wasn't going to think about it now. "If this fight gets any worse, it'd be a good idea to run to another pack to get help. I don't know who we're aligned with or where they are, so I can't go with you. If you could find Sephiroth or Tristan, that would help too." He knew he wasn't their authority - he didn't even know if he had a rank - but he spat out the idea anyways. He wanted to say more, but Crimson's ferocious roar tore his attention back to the battle. He saw Winter dart in for Kaia's flank, and a sarcastic smirk came to his lips. Where Winter darted in for Kaia's flank, Julien darted in for Winter's flank. "Two on one?!" he shouted, jaws opening wide. "That's just not fair!"

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 CrimsonStar

Crimson huffed as she looked at Winter. She knew should not have lashed out, but she could not help herself right now. Turning back to Leon, she raised her tail and bore her teeth once more, tensing her muscles in preparation to leap. She was exhausted, but she just wanted to see everyone die at her own fangs. She couldn't stop, she would rather die than give this up. No one was going to stop her, not unless they ripped the breath from her lungs and drained the blood from her veins. But she froze on the spot as she heard rapid padfalls enter the clearing, coming to a stop only briefly before an enraged voice cut through the air.

If you have a problem with my pack, then you take it to me FIRST. NOT them! What is wrong with you?

So, this was the wolf she'd been looking for in the first place. The leader of this sorry bunch of wolves. She moved away from Leon now and faced the furious Alphaess, her tail lashing. "So, you are the leader here," Crimson said, sounding nearly sane, "I've been expecting you, and it's about time you showed up." Her hackles bristled as Kaia asked what was wrong with her. Even if she told her, how did this fae expect to understand? Crimson snorted heavily, snapping her jaws towards Kaia. "There is nothing wrong with me," the savage woman insisted, "What would you know about losing a son, hmm? What do you know of a mother's tears?" Her eyes burned with hatred now, threatening to spill over, but she refused to let these wolves see the pain in her heart.

Shoulders shifting, Crimson lowered her body into a hunter's stance, prowling toward Kaia like a wolf looking for its next meal. Looking into Kaia's eyes, Crimson peeled her lips away from her fangs, revealing her stained razors. Breathing heavily, she waited several moments, then leapt towards the Alphaess with a nasty snarl. "Kill her!" she roared, rearing up in front of Kaia. A heavy forepaw swung towards the femme's face, aiming to slash her clear across the face with almost bear-like claws.

//------Avenged Star-------\\

Vengeance was startled as Dyrim leapt backward, and she stumbled a few steps as her paws met empty air and teeth clamped down on nothing. She growled, glaring at Dyrim as the femme told her this didn't have to happen. But she had been given the order to make an attack, and this was her first fight - she wasn't going to disappoint anyone by listening to Dyrim. "Stop being a coward and just fight!" she growled, lunging forward again. She saw Julien at the last second, and only managed to keep her balance as he collided with her. She dug her claws into the ground and whirled around to face him; she may have been young and inexperienced, but she had training and she was not in a blind fury like her mother. Giving a ferocious snarl, Vengeance darted toward Julien, snapping her jaws at his face.

The young one turned sharply as she heard her mother's voice, a battle cry that beckoned both her daughters to destroy the wolf she had targeted. Leaping out of Julien's range, she sprinted towards her mother, seeing Winter out of the corner of her eye as well. Vengenace held back as she watched her mother rear up, not wanting to get in the way of her mighty claws, knowing full well the power behind those mitts. Instead, she waited, ready to jump in at the opportune moment.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Winter

Winter wrinkled her nose as her mother just stood there and looked at her for a moment. Elipsis was right when he said mother was different. The older femme had always been harsh with a furious temper, but despite the strict discipline, Crimson had never drawn blood from her. Especially when she'd done nothing wrong. A low growl rumbled in her belly as she watched Crimson get ready to pounce on Leon, when suddenly a new face entered the clearing, claiming ownership of this pack and throwing herself towards them, ready to defend her wolves. Winter could only grimace, still watching her mother as the crazed she-wolf turned toward Kaia. She could barely listen to her mother's words, shaking her head. She was out of her mind, and Winter knew why. She had always admired her mother, but she knew she would never make the same mistakes that now made her so weak.

When Crimson let loose a roar, Winter knew it was time to take action. She came to her mother's side, hackles raised as she watched her mother rear and take a swipe at Kaia. Icy blue orbs glanced to her sister, holding back and waiting, as though afraid to get into the tangle. Winter was different. She lunged in towards Kaia's flank, teeth looking to dig in and tear flesh.

Tellika was out and about on a leisurely walk, moving slowly as the weight of her body held her up. Her sides and belly were bulging, betraying her condition. She was to be a mother yet again, but this time she was really not looking forward to it. Her time with Tristan had been merely a fling, and she had not been expecting nor wanting this. It was all fine and dandy to raise whelps with the help of a mate, but with the lack of love and support, it just didn't seem worth her time. She didn't know what she was going to do about it yet, but for now she was just doing what she could to pass the time.

Her silver auds perked as she heard a sudden commotion, wondering what that could be all about. Nothing much seemed to happen in these lands, so it was a surprise to hear anything out of the ordinary. Tellika picked up the pace just a little bit, and it was not long before she could hear furious voices cutting through the air, followed by snarls. Raising a brow, she came through the undergrowth to see her packmates being terrorized by a trio of violent wolves. Golden orbs widened. This was not good. But at least they outnumbered the assailants.

The temptress moved towards a familiar male, who stood protectively in front of Dyrim. Leon was off a ways nearer to Kaia and the wolves who had now targeted the Alphaess. She knew there wouldn't be much time before everyone was upon those wolves to help Kaia, so she asked quickly. "What on earth is going on?" she questioned, "Where did they come from?" She glanced between Julien and Dyrim, then looked to the battling wolves.

She heard the fight start when she was still a ways off, her auds straining ahead for any sort of disturbance. It only made her push herself harder, until she was practically flying through the trees, claws digging in to aid her sprint, strides huge. If she didn't know the terrain so well, it would have been a dangerous pace to take through the trees, but this land was a part of her now.

Coming up on the clearing, she took a flying leap, skidding to a stop. Her eyes widened first in surprise, then narrowed as rage hit. This attack was unprovoked and savage. She could see the fury with which her wolves were being beset, and it was not acceptable.

Snarling, she launched herself at Crimson. She could see that Dyrim and Julien had one another to help, plus, this fem looked out of her mind. "What the HELL IS THIS?!" She snapped, eyes flashing furiously. "If you have a problem with my pack, then you take it to me FIRST. NOT them! What is wrong with you?" She was too angry to even care about coaxing her fury... let her attack.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 3770092652_f6f0317d7e

Julien stopped short of launching into Crimson when Leon stepped between them. He sprang back when the two collided, Crimson probably not even realizing it was an entirely different wolf. His blue eyes flashed to Dyrim - and now she was in trouble! The wolf that had charged into her was a younger-looking thing, and Julien guessed that this was her first fight. He didn't know, but caught Dyrim's words... She wasn't going to fight. But the command had been ordered, and these intruders were fully intent on killing someone. Abandoning his feelings to run, Julien sprinted towards Dyrim and aimed a tackle at Vengeance's side, hoping to catch her off guard and keep Dyrim out of her path. Although Julien was not a fighter, he was willing to save Dyrim from harm. His leg was already torn and bleeding - Dyrim was still healthy, and she could run for help if they needed it. They could use Sephiroth's help, or Tristan's, or Kaia's, or whoever came to their aide...

Dyrim was relieved when Leon appeared on the scene , the brute looked handy in a fight...though she really wished there wasn't one to be had. But then the one that had been detaining her departed towards the fight and ordered the smaller she wolf at her. Dyrim could clearly see that she was a youth, all the more not to harm her. She herself was of average build but a little more on the solid side than dainty. But instead of charging towards the lunging femme she launched herself backwards a strangled bark/whine escaping her jaws. "Stop! This doesn't have to happen." Ear flicked and she cast a panicked glance over towards Crimson and Winter. The mother whom had just attacked her own child. "This is madness!" she half yelled, crouching low on the defensive. Well she wouldn't mind having Sephiroth around NOW. Oh the irony...

Leon saw her thick form coming and took the hit to the side of his face, a savage bellow escaping his jaw. He recoiled back to absorb it but set himself immediately for the next move. But he was surprised that when one of her own tried to enter the fray the crazed she wolf lashed out at her. Clearly she was bordering the edge of crazy and Leon was unsure how to stop her without force. He knew already that she was a formidable foe and there would be great bloodshed if they were to clash. He did not antagonize her instead waited anxiously glancing between mother and daughter. Muscles were stiff and he dared not look to Julien for any silent suggestions.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 Winter

Winter looked to Dyrim as she continued to whine and plead for the attack to stop. The jet black femora merely shrugged and gave a snort of disgust, ignoring the pathetic femme. Now her attention turned to Julien as he suggested she call her 'friend' off. "Hmph," she huffed with amusement. Like she could ever tell her own mother to do something and expect any sort of positive result. Yet, she looked over to Crimson and shouted loud and clear. "Stop mom, we're not getting anywhere like this," she yelled, grinning when all she got was a nasty remark. Just like she thought. She looked to Julien and cocked a brow as though to say 'yea right, not happening', just moments before another male entered the scene. Things were starting to get busy now, and Winter knew she would have to get moving.

She looked to her younger sister, motioning toward Dyrim. "You take that one, should be easy," she commanded. Then she turned headed straight down to where Crimson and the two hessians were...

//------Avenged Star-------\\

The youngest of the trio could only watch as events unfolded, knowing not what to do. It was only when Winter gave her direction that she nodded her head and looked toward Dyrim. So this was to be her opponent, her first in a real fight. Hackles bristled and she went forth, rushing towards Dyrim with her narrow pup legs. She had yet to fill out, though she had reached her full height. With a low growl, Vengeance leapt at Dyrim, her forepaws outstretched, hoping to grab hold of her and latch her teeth somewhere along her neck or back, trying to avoid Dyrim's own jaws.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 CrimsonStar

Crimson could hear no logic in Julien's words as he yelled at her. Saliva hung from her snarling jowls as she stared down the brute. The lust for blood was consuming her, as were her emotions. She hadn't expected to become so out-of-control, but the pain in her heart had boiled to the surface now, for she had waited so long for justice and revenge. Deep in her mind she knew that she wouldn't be able to keep this up forever, and she wouldn't be able to find the brute that committed the crime if she didn't ask, but she had forsaken her reasoning skills at this moment and wanted only more blood. Briefly she heard the conversation between her daughter and the other femme, and she sent a nasty bark their way when she heard Winter's voice calling out to her. "Shut up!" she snapped, turning back to Julien. Breathing heavily, she wrinkled her nose and launched herself forward for another assault, ready to sink her teeth in.

Suddenly there was another bru in the mix, and Crimson halted only momentarily to look up and see what she was dealing with, before surging forth once more with a demented look upon her face. Ivories flashing, she lunged with her jaws wide open towards Leon's face, hoping to gouge his eyes or take a chunk out of his face. Then Winter was beside her, a violent growl rumbling from the pit of the younger femme's stomach, but Crimson turned on her, lashing out at her face. Crimson's teeth left mark's across her ebon muzzle, and the fae backed off as blood trickled down her nose, confused. The mother was not thinking clearly, and had left herself open to attack from such a close distance...

Dyrim was on the defensive but it was difficult to watch them fem in front of her and watch Julien and the other banshee at the same time. "Please! Listen to us! We don't know anything! The pack has come under new leadership..perhaps the old wolves that lived here would know we don't.." She saw the menacing look in Winter's eye and was trying to disarm the situation but the fem that was attacking Julien seemed relentless. A whine escaped her muzzle as she drew blood and she took a step back in her anxiety.

Leon had watched from afar for a few moments before moving in on the situation. These wolves made it clear they were here for a more deadly purpose. Muscles tensed to see the distressed form of Dyrim. He could tell she was not the sort of wolf to fight and his inbred knight rose to the surface but they appeared to just detaining her from the older she wolf and Juilen. But he also eyed this situation with concern because Julien was only a slight wolf, a runner type. Dyrim was moved to the back burner because at the moment she was not in danger of imminent harm.

Muscled body vaulted into action taking him to the scene in a few strides. Swiftly he placed himself between Crimson and his wounded packmate. While Julien was a more agile wolf Leon was a fighter. Born and bred to be without the sadistic impulses to match. Chivalry, honor and altruism were the codes he lived by. Body was tense and prepared for an attack, he flashed his teeth while the fur along his spine rose to meet the challenge but not to encourage it. "I ask that you halt your unprovoked attack madame!"He barked with authority. He expected her to take no heed to his words and aim her attack on him.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 3770092652_f6f0317d7e

Reflexes leapt up at just the right moment and he whipped around to face Crimson, her bloody gaze boring into his. "What the hell is wrong with you?" he snarled, ears pinned back in rage, lips peeled. He was about to say more when she came at him again, thrusting her shoulder at him and swinging her opposite paw at him -- he dodged to the side, the very edges of her talons swiping against his front right leg, drawing blood. He never really was good in a fight. He didn't have enough muscle to draw an attack, and relied on his speed to keep him out of danger's way. He darted a few feet away, catching his breath. "You're wasting your time! If you go through us one by one, and none of us have done it, who do you have left to ask?"

Julien's blue eyes flashed to the other wolf that had come with the one that was attacking him. He could tell that she was eager to join the fight. "We can help you if you call your friend here off," he said to her, watching Crimson out of the corner of his eye. "I know the blood is on our pack, but if you couldn't tell, we're hardly even unified yet." He would have liked to say more -- and hoped that Dyrim was catching his drift -- but he knew that he had to focus on Crimson. There was a wild, crazed looked in her eye, and she had already got him in the leg. She smelled blood, and knew she was after it, though he had no idea what reason for. Julien's thin body tensed, ready for her next move.

To the lost, sanctuary... (MB) - Page 5 CrimsonStar

Crimson was barely phased as Julien's paws connected with her face, merely snapping her teeth at them. His words filtered through her ears but she paid them no mind, not until his teeth clipped the edge of her muzzle. She snarled and clashed her teeth with his in return, then felt his paws against her belly, shoving her off of him. Her breath came heavily, like some crazed and feral beast, saliva bubbling at the edges of her lips. She stared at Julien with bloodshot eyes as he shouted at her, then licked her lips. "Don't know where she is?" Crimson roared, "What a coward! She's run off and left you fools behind as pawns to save her own hide!" The demoness was enraged, she wasn't thinking clearly, she couldn't. Suddenly her eyes brimmed with tears. "Well if there's not many of you, then I'll just go through you one by one until I'm satisfied," she snarled, "And don't think you'll be sending me off easy... hmph, the lone lands indeed!" She shook her head, spitting upon the ground. He thought he could just send her off on some wild goose chase into the Lone Lands? Not happening.

Muscles coiled and she lunged forward again, this time swerving to the side and coming up toward Julien's side with her shoulder, before swinging the opposite paw toward him, hoping to slice him up a bit.

Winter snorted at the lady before her. She seemed weak and afraid. She shook her head, fixing her icy blue eyes upon Dyrim. "That's what you'd like us to think, isn't it?" she questioned cooly, "But we already know better. Someone from these lands killed my brother, and we're going to find out who. So if you know, just speak up." She wasn't ready to fool around and play games. She was here to find out where the murderer was, and they would find him by force if they needed to. And as Crimson lunged again, it was clear that they weren't bluffing. Winter remained poised and ready, barely able to contain herself from joining in the fight, but she was ready to jump in if Dyrim moved or anyone showed up.
